If you pay attention at all to fashion magazines, fashion blogs, or your favorite day time talk show, you’ve seen one spring trend for 2012 loud and clear: Neon. These bright colors are back with a vengeance and are showing up everywhere from tops and handbags to shoes and jewelry.
Bright pink, turquoise, orange and yellow can add that pop of color to your wardrobe you’ve been begging for all winter long. What better way to snap out of the winter blues than shopping for a few bright pieces to incorporate into your existing wardrobe?
Here are a few ways to add some major color to your closet with the most noticeable Spring 2012 trend: Neon.
Are you ready to make a statement in a big way? Let spring know you are ready to take it on by dressing in one solid neon color. A dress is the perfect way to wear neon without completely over doing it. You can tone it down with low key accessories.
From heels and flats to blue suede shoes and wedges, adding a pop of neon color with your shoes is one of the easiest ways to add this trend to your current wardrobe. Spring is all about letting those toes show. They’ve been kept hidden all winter long and it’s time for those babies to shine.
Try shopping for bright sandals, peep toe heels and wedges that let your feet breathe. If there’s still a little chill in the air, you can find some gorgeous ballet flats and suede shoes.
Neon Handbags and Wallets
This is definitely one of my favorite ways to add color to anything I’m wearing. Plus, I have an addiction to handbags. There are so many fabulous bright handbags and wallets, and they come in every shape and size you could possibly dream up.
If you would like to ease your way into the neon trend, you can do so with jewelry. Start small with a pair of stud earrings or a small ring, or go big and bold with a silicone band watch or a statement necklace.
Don’t let the neon trend this spring scare you. It’s possible you’re still recovering from the 1980s when neon was everywhere. But don’t worry, it’s neon minus the big hair and you can rock this trend for 2012 in a way you won’t regret years later.
