When it comes to fall and the cooler temperatures, there is one thing that I really look forward to, and that is taking a bath. Whether you have a gorgeous spa tub fit for a magazine, or just a regular size tub, you can try these at home spa ideas for a very relaxing bath. Taking a bath with a few lit candles, a good book or music and something in the water to make it smell amazing, just does something for you. You can have the most stressful day ever and as soon as your big toe hits that bath water, the day can melt away.

Here are 6 at home spa ideas that are affordable (some are free!), relaxing and will make you feel like a million bucks:

Clear out the toys and start with a clean tub

This may sound simple and well, it is. If you decide you’re going to take a bath and then youíre greeted with the kids’ bath toys and grime in the tub, most likely you’ll nix the bath idea. Scrub the tub that morning or the night before with a good cleanser to make sure it’s ready to go for you. Make it a habit to clean up the toys after bath time with the kids and wipe down the tub so it’ll always be ready for you.

Buy towels that are just for your bath time

There is something about a new white, fluffy, clean smelling towel that just oozes relaxation. Have a set of towels that are only to be used by you. Hide them from your teenagers if you have to, but make sure everyone knows those are mom’s towels and to stay away!

Light some candles

I personally enjoy just ordinary tea light candles with no scent for a couple of reasons. They are cheap and I am usually using a bath product that has a scent. You don’t want the candles for smell, but for ambiance. Light the candles, turn off the lights, sit back and relax! Candles are a must and easy at home spa idea.

Make your own rose water

I am sure you’ve heard about rose petals in the water for a romantic and soothing bath, but maybe you’ve never actually tried it. Rose water is actually a great astringent and very good for your skin. Try this recipe for rose water. After you’ve used it a few times, you’ll wonder how you ever lived without it.

Apply a facial mask

If you do not use a mask at least once a week, you are really missing out on the benefits! Applying a mask while in the tub, not only feels great, but you are using your time wisely. You are taking a relaxing bath and getting a mini facial as well. Wet your face and apply a clay mask, Sit back, relax and let the mask do its job. After about 10 minutes, wet a wash cloth and remove the mask with the washcloth. Your skin will feel amazing!

Use a Body Scrub

Towards the end of your tub time, give yourself a good body scrub. It will rejuvenate your skin and make you feel refreshed. I love this Coconut Salt Scrub by Philosophy. It can be used in the shower or tub and leaves your skin feeling super soft and smooth. You can also drizzle some under the running water to create a luxurious bubble bath.

Are you ready for a relaxing bath with these at home spa ideas? After you’ve used all of these ideas and taken your bath, this is something you will look forward to every week!
