Valentine’s Day is a day for being pampered and pampering yourself. This might mean dinner out at your favorite restaurant, a few hours at a local spa, treating yourself to a new outfit, or pampering yourself at home. If you’re trying to stick to a budget, these easy DIY ways to pamper yourself are an awesome way to celebrate Valentine’s Day at home.

Pampering yourself at home can mean a few hours with a good book and a cup of tea—or, it can mean a plate of chocolate covered strawberries and your favorite music. It really all depends on what types of things make you feel pampered.

One of my favorite ways to pamper myself at home is by an at-home spa day. With a few simple things, you can turn Valentine’s day into a relaxing day at home. I generally set the mood with my favorite music, a few scented candles or wax warmers with my favorite wax scent, and a relaxing cup of lavender or chamomile tea.

Getting super soft skin doesn’t have to be expensive. Start with a simple jar of coconut oil and rub it into your skin. Then wrap yourself in a warm robe and relax. Depending on how dry your skin is, you may want to shower and remove the excess when you’re done.

Looking to relax away the stress? Add a half of a cup of Epsom salts to a warm bath. Epsom salts help remove toxins from your body. You can also add a few drops of your favorite essential oil if you prefer scented baths. I personally love the combination of rose and lavender.

If you have rough skin on your elbows, knees or feet, you can make a simple body scrub using coconut oil and either table salt or white sugar. Just mix the two together until you have a paste and rub it into your skin for exfoliation. The coconut oil will moisturize your skin and the salt or sugar will smooth away any roughness. When you’re done, just wash away any excess with warm soapy water.

No matter which of these simple DIY ways to pamper yourself you choose, be sure to take time for self-care this Valentine’s Day. Whether you’re in a relationship or not, you deserve to be taken care of. Enjoy a piece or two of your favorite chocolate candy while you’re relaxing in the tub, and consider that a gift to yourself.
