August 6, 2019

Some weeks, you can almost hear the crickets chirping. This first week of August, though, the stories started churning. Is everyone in a big rush to enjoy these last days of summer? Maybe! If you’ve been so busy soaking up the sun that you’ve missed all the action, don’t fret. Here are a few headlines to help you get caught up!

Tori Spelling Sad About RHOBH

During an appearance on Sirius XM’s The Jenny McCarthy Show, Tori Spelling shared her feelings about the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills. “They never asked me … and it actually makes me really sad,” Spelling lamented.

Meanwhile, Spelling’s close friend and Beverly Hills 90210 co-star, Jenny Garth, piped up and admitted, “They asked me,” but explained that she declined because she’s the “furthest thing from a desperate housewife.”

Undeterred, Spelling continued to try to make her case by saying, “Well, I was born in Beverly Hills, so I have one thing going for me. I’m married with a lot of kids, drama follows me everywhere.” After Lisa Vanderpump’s exit from RHOBH last season, maybe Spelling will fill that vacancy…

Gwyneth Paltrow Curses During Q&A

Fans tuned in to watch Gwyneth Paltrow during a recent Instagram Live Q&A and they can’t stop talking about one moment in particular. The actress read comments and questions during the event, and was immediately offended when someone asked her if she actually cooks.

“Do I actually cook? Yes, I f**king cook!” Paltrow shot back. “You think I would pretend to write cookbooks if I didn’t cook?” Seeing that many jumped to her defense, the 46-year-old mother of two added, “Thank you for defending me and f**k that person.”

Paltrow has long shared her love for cooking, so it’s no surprise that she got so upset. After all, she’s written five cookbooks including Notes From My Kitchen Table (2011) and The Clean Plate: Eat, Reset, Heal (2019).

Will Melissa McCarthy Be Ursula?

Disney just can’t seem to stop reinventing the classic movies. Most recently, we’ve seen live-action versions of Aladdin and The Lion King and The Little Mermaid is currently in the works. There’s already been an uproar after the casting of Halle Bailey as Ariel, but we don’t know much about the other characters.

Rumors have swirled that Melissa McCarthy is in talks to take on the role of Ursula in the remake, but she’s never confirmed anything. When ET correspondent, Matt Cohen, asked, McCarthy replied, “Who’s Ursula? But am I interested? I’m very interested,” before turning to wink at the camera.

Then, during a sit-down with Jimmy Kimmel, she continued to act coy saying, “Oh, I hadn’t heard about that. It seems like it would be an awfully fun thing to do. Oh, I’d love if Disney would just give me a little ringy dingy. We’ll see!” We know that rapper, Lizzo, is also campaigning for the role, so this could get very interesting!
