Meghan Markle’s Busy Week
Looks like Meghan Markle’s maternity leave is officially over! The new mom had a busy week beginning with a trip to Wimbledon to watch her good friend, Serena Williams, play. Flanked by Kate and Pippa Middleton, all three mamas looked comfortable and stylish in the Royal Box.
Despite rumors of a rift between Meghan, the Duchess of Sussex, and Kate, the Duchess of Cambridge, they seemed to get along well with Meghan being especially chatty with Kate’s sister, Pippa. Williams ultimately lost to Simona Halep, and we’re sure Meghan was on-hand to send a supportive text.
Without missing a beat, Meghan, along with Prince Harry, was spotted at the London premiere of The Lion King. Experienced parents, Beyoncé and husband and Jay-Z, who share daughter, Blue Ivy, 7, and twins Rumi and Sir, 2, greeted the royal couple warmly and congratulated them on the birth of their son, Archie.
Some might recall that, Beyoncé and Jay-Z won a 2019 Brit Award for Best International Group for “APE—.” The video incorporated the Mona Lisa. When they accepted their prize via video message, they were standing in front of a regal portrait of Meghan. Beyoncé later took to Instagram to share the photo with the caption, “In honor of Black History Month, we bow down to one of our Melanated Monas. Congrats on your pregnancy! We wish you so much joy.”
It must have been incredible for everyone to finally meet. We hope Meghan and Harry enjoyed The Lion King and will share it with Archie some day!
Kate Gosselin’s Successful Date Night
Any mom who has ever started over will know that it’s not easy. It’s been 10 years since she split from husband, Jon, but Kate Gosselin has been mostly single ever since. Now that her twins, Mady and Cara, are 18 and the sextuplets—Hannah, Leah, Alexis, Joel, Aaden, and Collin—are 15, maybe she’s taking time to do something for herself.
After explaining that she is careful about who she lets in her life, TLC has been documenting her journey on a new series called Kate Plus Date. On the season finale, Kate ventures over for a dinner date with a man named Jeff. The date is at his home, and to her surprise, she enjoys herself. Still, she openly struggles with trust issues and not knowing how to handle the idea that she might be kissed. Yet, Jeff seems to understand and shows patience. This could be the start of something!
Over the years since Jon & Kate Plus 8 premiered, Kate has been a bit of a polarizing figure. Not everyone agrees or likes her, but many single moms might be able to relate to how difficult it is to find love after a relationship fails. We hope this is the beginning of a brand new chapter in her life!
