You can be politically active without prescribing or associating with one particular party

Many people, including myself, shy away from politics because they do not feel they can commit themselves completely to one party’s prescribed belief system or goals. I find myself on the fence in many issues. I may agree with a particular candidate on 3 out of 5 of their policy platforms but agree with another candidate on the other two. So what does that mean? Eighty percent of the antibiotics sold in the U.S. are used in animal agriculture. The vast majority are for non-therapeutic purposes, such as promoting growth and compensating for the effects of unsanitary and overcrowded conditions.

Recently Applegate joined forces with STOP Foodborne Illness to form Citizens Against Superbugs– a grassroots campaign designed to raise awareness about the overuse of antibiotics on industrial farms and its link to antibiotic resistant bacteria or superbugs.
