Gary Johnson is one 3rd party candidate that will be on the ballot in 49 states and the District of Columbia. Jill Stein is another very popular 3rd party candidate. Jill Stein represents the Green Party and will be on the ballot in 37 states, plus the District of Columbia. She will also be a write-in option in 5 states. This means she is a choice in 42 states plus the District of Columbia. She is currently in litigation in 6 states to appear on their ballots. The only states she will definitely not be an option in are Oklahoma and Nevada.
Jill Stein and her campaign hinge on her “New Green Deal Platform”. The New Green Deal is a four part program that address specific areas that Jill Stein is most concerned with for getting our country back on track. The four pillars of the system are: THE ECONOMIC BILL OF RIGHTS, A GREEN TRANSITION, REAL FINANCIAL REFORM, and A FUNCTIONING DEMOCRACY.

The Economy and Taxes:
Stein wants to reduce spending through preventative health and reduced military expenditures. She feels the stimulus should have been bigger. She wants the top 1% of earners to pay their share and supports higher taxes on the wealthy. She wants to rewrite the entire tax code to be truly progressive with tax cuts for working families, the poor and middle class, and higher taxes for the richest Americans.
Jill Stein wants tuition free schooling Kindergarten through college. She feels this would reduce our student loan and education debt crisis. She would forgive all current student loan debt and end the high stakes school testing. Students should not be denied a diploma based off of a standardized test and is against privatization of education.
She would grant undocumented immigrants who are already residing and working in the United States a legal status – which includes the chance to become U.S. citizens. She would also halt the deportation of law-abiding illegal immigrants. She would also demilitarize the borders.
Here is where Jill Stein stands on many civil liberty issues:
- Women’s Right – Pro Choice. Advocate for easy access to morning after pill, birth control, and women’s health. Also supports a woman’s right to choose.
- Stem Cell Research – Supports stem cell research and Federal funding for embryonic stem cell research.
- Marriage – Supports marriage equality for all couples including same sex couples.
- Patriot Act – Repel the Patriot Act
