The Fourth of July weekend has come and gone—did you have a great time? Summer is rolling along so quickly that you might not have had time to stop and catch up with your favorite celebrity moms. In case you’ve missed the headlines, here’s a recap!
Baby Archie’s Private Christening
As has been the norm with Meghan Markle and Prince Harry, the christening of their son, Archie, was an extremely private affair. This past Saturday, about 25 close family members and friends gathered at Queen Elizabeth’s personal chapel at Windsor Castle.
Archie, who was born on May 6, was surrounded by grandmother, Doria Ragland (Meghan’s mom), grandfather, Prince Charles and his wife Camilla, Prince William and Kate Middleton, as well as Princess Diana’s sisters, Lady Sarah McCorquodale. and Lady Jane Fellowes.
This isn’t the first time well-wishers gathered at Windsor Castle to celebrate Meghan and Harry. The couple’s May 2018 wedding was held at St. George’s Chapel. Now, they live on the grounds with their son at Frogmore Cottage. How sweet!
Jennifer Lopez “Not Happy” on Tour
We all have our moments of self-doubt, even powerful women like Jennifer Lopez. Currently on her “It’s My Part”” tour, the entertainer recently revealed that performing every night isn’t always easy. In a YouTube video, the 49-year-old mom of twins, Max and Emme, shared a moment when she let her guard down with fiancé, Alex Rodriguez, 43.
After hitting her face and bleeding on stage, Lopez says, “It was a tough show for me.” Reflecting on the show, she goes so far as to say, “I’m not happy with myself.” Fortunately, her future husband was on hand to give her some encouragement.
“It was the best show I’ve seen so far,” exclaims a slightly incredulous A-Rod. “You guys killed it! And you showed why you’re a champion, baby. You were down and you still came back up and had the best show. You won’t see how great you are. You really have no idea.”
Wow… is A-Rod available to come give me a pep talk because I’ve been feeling a little low myself! All jokes aside, it’s so great that J.Lo is willing to share moments like this because we all have them! Most of the time, we’re just being way too hard on ourselves!
Kim Kardashian West’s “Innocent Intentions”
When Kim Kardashian West revealed that she was naming her upcoming shapewear line “Kimono,” the backlash was almost immediate. In a new interview with WSJ. Magazine, the star opened up about being accused of cultural appropriation.
“You would think we would have obviously thought it through a little bit deeper,” Kardashian West told WSJ. Magazine. “I’m the first person to say, ‘Okay, of course, I can’t believe we didn’t think of this.’ I obviously had really innocent intentions. But, let’s listen. And I want to really listen. And I want to really take it all in…I so appreciate the passion and varied perspectives that people bring to me.”
Revealing that “Kimono” was inspired because husband, Kanye West “was in Japan when all of this was happening. It’s a place that we love and go to. I have such respect.” While the WSJ. Magazine noted that there are other products trademarked with the word “kimono,” Kardashian West insists that her products are meant to be inclusive and that they’d have to come up with a new name.
The brand will carry affordably-priced bras, waist trainers, bikini briefs, thongs, thermal leggings, bodysuits and more for $22 to $98. Touted as “solutionwear,” sizes will range from XXS to 4XL.
