20 Best Cat Deterrent Spray For Furniture (2022 Updated)

I had a cat pee accident on my favorite recliner and thought for sure this was the end of the chair. I did a lot of reading and the science points to enzymatic cleaners like this as the only true way to remove that nasty cat pee smell forever.

The key is to saturate the area as deep as the pee goes, so for me I soaked the recliner through the material and the cushion to make sure the enzymes could destroy that nasty cat pee smell. If you don’t get it all, trust me you’ll still smell cat pee.

But if this cleaner contacts the urine fully, it somehow destroys it smell and leaves a pleasant smell afterwards. The cats were interested in the smell but have not used the bathroom in that spot since cleaning, it really worked, so excited! I also tried it on the hardwood floor and it did the trick, no more smells.

So anyway if you have a room or rooms that smell like the zoo, or in my case worse, and any kind of stains, here’s exactly what I did: fill vac container with straight product after shaking well, also put some in a spray bottle and spray stains well.

Let that soak several hours Then spray with machine onto floor, let that sit a couple hours, then fill vac container with cold water and steam clean as normal. Voila there you have it. I sure hope this helps someone else because I was living a nightmare.

Have used this for 30 years for various pet accidents and always felt that it helped with eliminating or at least lessening the pet pee odors. Used up a partial bottle that we’d had for a few years and it still smelled and worked fine (had a mild fragrance to it).

After reading a lot of reviews, I was skeptical about how well this would work for my two stubborn dogs (Dachshund and Cocker Spaniel), but decided to give it a shot. After only a few verbal corrections and contact with the mat, neither dog want anything to do with the new couch if this was on it.

I decided to give Mighty Mint Rodent Repellant a try this for this winter. We don’t have a garage or shed so we just stow our lawn mower, bikes, yard and gardening tools and other things under our large back porch but it backs up to the woods and we are surrounded by forest.

Earlier this year in the spring when we pulled the lawn mower out to use, a large snake rode out with it! We also found old snake skin under the porch as well as in the large crawl space under the house.

Hello review readers. I currently reside in a townhouse. My ground level floor has a garage, bedroom, and bathroom. This spray was intended for the garage and my SUV parted in it simply because it’s all kind of critters living in there.

So let start with the vehicle. I’m a stay at home mom so I don’t drive my vehicle to offend. Every time I get in the car there’s a spiderweb somewhere in there in which super disgusting. I tried this in the car first waited a few days and it work so well I thought maybe I’ll give it a try in the garage as well.

To my surprise it work in the garage as well so I thought let me try this in the bathroom and door way entry. ABSOLUTELY AMAZING results!!!!!! Now let get into the product. if you love the smell of peppermint you’ll definitely love this product like I do.

Try and spray inside your vehicle only necessary spots the smell can get a bit overwhelming very quickly and I would also recommend that your spray in spots that are not visible to the eye (for example around the doors, under seats, under dash) simply because this product does leave a small residue and if your anything like me I like my car nice and neat.

Now for the house. of course in the garage I was able to spray any and everywhere in there however inside the door entry way and the bathroom and bedroom I chose to only spray around the baseboards it dried very quickly and gave me wonderful smell with OUTSTANDING RESULTS!!!!!! Nature’s Miracle Advanced Stain & Odor Remover Accushot came to the rescue to our carpet after our poor little girl threw up after eating too much (I warned my husband not to over feed her carrots and cucumbers).

After my little girl had her dinner of wet food, my husband decided to give her some plain fresh carrots and cucumbers. Because he overfed her, she ended up throwing up not only the carrots and cucumbers but also the wet food.

Walmart I purchased these ultrasonic animal repellants because every year we plant a garden and every year we deal with pests, namely rabbits and raccoons. They ravage around our yard and devour the delicacy of our garden.

We have done everything from spraying to electric fences. We saw an advertisement for ultrasonic and thought we would give it a try. We purchased these because we liked the idea of just simply putting them in the ground and forgetting about them.

Because they are solar powered, we don’t have to deal with posts and wires for electric fences. It took less than 5 minutes to set up and worked within 25 days. I’ll update later in regards to how they fared during the rest of the summer.

Did not work for me. I live in Arizona and have lots of sun to charge this device. No matter how much the plug in or sun charged this, it would only turn on at night if i was within 1 foot of it. I tried multiple settings.

Having a home secluded in the woods, we have various problems. One of the upsetting problems is the draw of it seemingly to rodents. Possibly the smell of human and pet food. A cat was acquired to combat the problem but she finally proved inadequate since they would get inside the walls somehow.

The dogs, being mostly inside to protect the house, fail to deter any of them either. Naturally we have to be super careful about poisons around the pets so in our quest to do away with the problem we felt almost helpless.

I was so excited to try this product for our lake house! We have used standard traps in previous years and always hated “baiting” them as I felt it was encouraging the mice to come indoors. This repellant does the opposite and keeps them away.

We used a little more than 1/2 the bottle for our small cottage home, spraying only on the outside and the exposed cement foundation as there was snow on the ground. The citrussy spray smells strong but is pleasant and not overpowering.

This works very well if you know how to use it. It isn’t supposed to he used over and over line I’ve read it only lasts a like 10 sprays. When the animal does the unwanted behavior you spray a short burst in the air, use the word you are going to use like Stop or Don’t Jump and then once they’ve stopped you reward with them with “good boy.

” I don’t recommend using treats because they quickly will start thinking when they stop an unwanted behavior they get a treat. There are also different can sizes meant for different types of people.

Smaller for personal use, bigger for trainers or more than one animal. It isn’t supposed to he used over and over. If the animal doesn’t respond to it, then getting a trainer to help with what will work is a good idea.

It definitely isn’t meant to stop all unwanted behavior. Just the major ones. You can’t use it to stop the 10 different things your animal doesn’t like. He/she may see the can and stop when you use your verbal command you used when using the cam to start with.

That’s the goal. Not spraying it over and over. We use it for our Doberman puppy who’s almost anyway who barks and is Leary of people who come to the door and come in. We first taught sit. When someone comes to the door we said sit.

When she didn’t and was barking we did a short burst and said “stop. ” It stopped her in her tracks and she sat. When the person came in and she started barking and growling slightly we sprayed also while she’s on a short leash and said “stop” again.

Then told her to sit and used the words “it’s ok” and pet her and repeated it’s ok. She’s then allowed to sniff the person without them reaching towards her and she then realizes they aren’t a threat and licks their hand.

She then starts wagging her tail. She was the most shy in her litter and was bottle fed so her mom didn’t get the chance to teach her company is ok. It’s a learning process and we’re working on it, but with the help of a trainer we’ll move to off the leash next.

This may be the case where she does react like we want to the spray and will use it as long as needed. If your dog is still doing the behavior, but does react to the can, it’ll just take time and repeated correction and using the same vocal command is key.

That’s when you will be able to move to just using the vocal command and not have to spray every time. It’s not to be replaced with verbal commands forever. Only if your trainer recommends it. I strongly suggest using a trainer if it doesn’t work or they will only stop when you have to keep spraying the air can to get them to stop.

I initially purchased this as recommended by my trainer to teach my dog how to properly walk on a leash (my dog had a problem thinking leash time was actually tug of war). WELL, today on our walk my dog was doing great when we passed a green strip in our neighborhood and low and behold there was what appeared to be a dog walker with 4 dogs.

One of the smaller dogs escaped her grip and came running toward me and my puppy Doberman. I quickly stood in front of my dog and was able to grab the small dog by his collar and return him to his owner.

I carried on and no more than 2 minutes later I hear the woman screaming “get back here! Bad dog!” I turn around to see her husky and large fluffy white dog sprinting at me at full speed. I crossed the street in an attempt to get out of their line of vision and confirmed they were in fact chasing me and my dog.

I quickly turned around and without thinking utilized the pet corrector spray by spraying it in their direction and saying a loud and firm “STOP. ” Immediately the dogs halted in their tracks and I herded them back to their owner who was doing nothing but yelling “bad dog” at them (as if them being off leash is their fault).

The moral of the story is I don’t know what the dogs were going to do next! Jump on me? I’m only 5’ 2”! Bite my dog? He’s just a little puppy! Or worse bite me?! I don’t think they were aggressive but they were clearly over excited and out of control.

I got these for my mother to use under her bird feeder to keep squirrels away. I told her it would not work for squirrels. As per usual, she did not listen to me and she is paying for it so what do I care? They were easy for an 85 year old to put together apparently because I did not have to go help.

The squirrels were very interested in the mats and examined them thoroughly, mostly by walking all over them. I can’t address how these mats work on cats because there was never a cat issue. I can’t address durability since the mats seem to have disappeared from her garden.

The squirrels might have taken them for protection from cats. In which case, everybody wins.

I suppose that it’s not for every dog. My 1 year old labradoodle, who, as of late has had a great propensity for digging, dug it up, carried it away, then chewed it up. That being said, it’s seemingly well-constructed and spikey.

My dog’s got sensitive paws. I thought, “2+2†…but, I guess I should’ve figured my doodle would dig it up.

These Scat Mats are GREAT! I am in the “double-digits” of cats, and have a few that scratch things they shouldn’t and a few that *** where they shouldn’t. These solve both issues. I have used the “shock” mats in the past, but they are expensive, and all the ones I’ve purchased seem to quit working after about 1 year.

I got these to try out, and couldn’t be happier. They are very sturdy, & the cats learn quickly. I stepped on one with bare feet, and I learned quickly, too 🙂 I spray painted some of them to blend in with my flooring and they look great.

I would recommend them to everyone with this type of cat issue; and give them 5 stars. I have also tried the clear plastic/different brand; but these Homarden mats are superior in every way. I am a fan for life, as I’m sure I will have cats all of my life :).

I am extremely disappointed in this product due to the quantity claimed in its promotional information here and on other sites. It says “300-400 spray refills” per can. Whether that’s 300-400 SPRAYS or 300-400 REFILLS, it doesn’t matter.

Both are incorrect. I got this collar about 10 days ago, and there are times when the dog is not wearing it, so it’s not active, and I have refilled the collar MAYBE 15-20 times (which, in itself for a product to be used like this, I found excessive) and the can is EMPTY.

My dog barks a lot, but NOT enough to have used that much product. The product itself is effective, there’s just not nearly as much in the can as it SAYS there is. Which makes it kind of not cheap. And, my dog’s still barking like we’ve never had it.

I tried this with a Godin XTSA guitar into a Boss GP-10. It worked perfectly. The connectors worked perfectly. However, my expectations of the quality were not unrealistic. For the price, I got a functional cable.

The insulation on the wire does not feel very thick or durable. The strain relief at the connector did not fit the diameter of the cord (it was a little large/loose). This is to be expected for this type of product at this price point.

What I may do is buy the “R—-d” brand cable and keep this as a back-up. If you need a functional 13-pin GK type cord, and you plan to treat it super-gently, this seems like a decent option.

Right now the room smells like wet pee and it didn’t before I sprayed it. But to know if it works we have to wait until it is completely dry. I’m not thrilled with the room smelling, my current spray doesn’t do that.

Now it’s the next day and the spray has done its job. There is no more smell, the gliders played on the wheel all night and they are unharmed. So it does work. I sprayed the wheel again today and the room didn’t smell at all so maybe my current product doesn’t work as well as I thought.

I received product reimbursement in exchange for my honest review. Although it says it’s for cats, it does mention it can be used for “pets” so I decided to try it on a stain my older dog made. She does have a lot of accidents, so she left quiet an odor to rooms along with patches of dark stains.

To my surprise, this product DID remove most of the urine smell and it does take out newer stains no problem, but for the best results use the spray on a newer stain, it will come out faster. Afterwards, I used the spray on an older stain to see the results, and they weren’t bad, you just need to put in a bit more work.

The spot did look noticeably lighter, but it was expected that the stain wasn’t going to disappear since the stain settled in the fibers a while ago. You might have to spray and dab the spot with a clean paper towel or rag a couple times, in order to fully get it out, but I had no problem with it since it was easy.

If you try getting out older stains, use a generous amount of the spray and leave it for more than five minutes, (I did 10), and it lifts a majority of the stain. I liked how it had no fragrance, usually heavily scented products hurt my head and make the areas affected smell worse as of it’s trying to mask the smell, but I had no issue with this spray.

I recommend you air out the room while using this product though, or else there might be a stale scent, which I’m assuming happens because the odor is trapped. Overall I recommend the product, and its definitely worth the money spent.

Not for severe stains at all. Several set in, severe stains that smelled, and a couple fresh stains too. I used two bottles of this stuff in two separate cleanings, drenched my mattress and used it as a laundry detergent additive.

As a detergent it did well, got the odor out of my blankets and pillows. As an actual odor remover, not so much. Two bottles later and my mattress still smelled. Ended up buying some Nature’s Miracle Advanced and that did the trick for my mattress.

One point in this stuff’s favor I guess is that it’s odorless, so it doesn’t drown your whole house in perfumey scents.

I was not expecting it do to any better than any other store bought brand name product I have tried over the years for carpet and upholstery.

I took one look at the label and I thought “Phhh. another natural home remedy being marketed for sale!” I was so surprised it worked. I tried it out on my carpet where my cat threw up a hairball and then some (specifically wet cat food).

It was a smelly mess. Brown stained and stinky tuna smell. I had previously tried to use a carpet stain remover but it didn’t get the stain completely out and it did little for the smell. When I received this Messy Cat Pet Stain and Odor Remover, I decided to try it out.

What could it hurt, its’ already discolored. WOW! No more smell, and the stain is gone. And mind you this stain had been there for over 2 weeks before I received this product for review. Then I decided to try it out on my light colored sofa that my grade-school kids have stained over the years.

I have tried upholstery cleaners and even an upholstery cleaning machine but they always wanted you to use the stiff brush to work it in. I didn’t like being so rough on my couch and causing future pilling and damage.

This Messy Cat Pet Stain does NOT require scrubbing. It says to leave for 5 minutes and up to an hour for set in stains, then blot. It took off a stain in the middle of my couch that had been driving me crazy.

Anyone that has been following me knows that I have quite a few cats in my home. One issue I have is with one of my male cats who likes to mark a few areas of the house as his. I decided to give Nature’s Miracle Advanced Platinum No More Spraying for Indoor Training For Cats a try to see if that would help with this issue.

To my surprise, it actually worked! I would spray any area that was my cats usual marking spot. I noticed when he was doing his “sniff”, you know, the one they do before they do the marking. he would sniff, then walk away.

He did attempt to find new locations to mark, but once I sprayed that area, marking that location stopped as well. Personally, the scent of the spray doesn’t bother me, however, my boy isn’t a fan and it stops him from marking.

Definitely a HUGE win in our house! I’m not sure how long each sprayed area will last, but it’s definitely a great improvement for us and has been making a huge difference! And no more markings!!.

I give this a 4 Star because what was left I tried it out and it worked super great. The only problem is when it was delivered to me the box was wet at one corner and this had come open in the box by being crushed in the box and it leaked over half of it out.

It got my two boxes of milk-bones gravy biscuits and my milk-bones sm/med snack bones wet and I had to throw out not half but almost half of my bones away because it leaked into the boxes. I can’t feed that to my dogs and I will be short for this month.

I would really like for you to replace the milk-bones and send another natures miracle OXY cat remover. I try not to complain about things but I know it wasn’t chewy’s fault. It was how it was packed in the box and how it was handled.

They are very rough with the boxes. If you do replace the nature’s miracle OXY cat remover please send it by itself. I can live with loosing less than half of my milk -bones. It’s just that my dogs want understand towards the end of the month why they can’t have their bone treat but they will survive till next month.

Chewy you have always done right by me and I love you for that because I know you care about your costumes very much and you have proven to me that much. I will still order from you next month as I always do.

When my husband & I recently returned from a 10 day vacation I discovered our 15 year old wonderful kitty had peed a couple times in our bedroom. This was a first ever occurrence, kitty barf & fur balls don’t count.

Our pet sitter stayed in the guest bedroom & has no idea what got into him. I immediately tried a grocery store rug spot cleaner with no help with the urine smell. I read all of the online reviews of Nature’s Miracle set-in stain destroyer & thought oh well, what have I got to loose short of replacing the carpet.

This stuff is awesome! I followed the directions expecting the scent to be overpowering and it wasn’t. I didn’t even have to retreat it. I even thought the pad would still give off a urine smell but it’s perfect.

Believe me, I’m super picky. I gave all the urine spots the “nose test” and there is absolutely no remaining urine scent or difference in the carpet pile. And there’s no remaining scent from Nature’s Miracle.

This is about 2 weeks after I treated it. And, the carpet doesn’t appear to have been treated. It fluffs up just like the rest of the carpet. This is a great product.

So even though we immediately clean up any puppy accidents (as we are always checking carpeted areas for wet spots), even after clean up we were getting the dreaded “dark spots” which makes your carpet look disgusting.

I had ordered three other products with enzyme-busting properties, set-in stain removing promises. None of them worked. I saw this and decided based on reviews to give it a shot. I am so glad I did. My husband sprayed the spots, let it sit for 15 minutes, and then stepped on a paper towel to soak up the cleaner.

IT WAS AMAZING AND HORRIFYING. The stains lifted right up, but the paper towels were soaked in an awful brown color which made me want to gag. The spots are gone now, and I can’t say enough good things about this product.

I even sprayed other spots (which were already on the carpet when we moved in the house) and THOSE lifted up too. If you have stubborn spots on your carpet, buy this right now! You won’t regret it.

To be completely transparent I was sent this based on my previous purchases. I use the regular cat urine and odor spray. I have tried so many things but that is the only thing that works wonders. I buy them in gallons because I use them for so many things.

The only thing with the regular is that it doesn’t remove all of the old stains. I have a chair that has an old stain and I’ve never been able to completely remove the scent. I finally decided to try this and all I can say is wow.

The stain and smell is completely gone. I think this would definitely work better than the regular one for any fabric or carpet stains and odors. I hope they come out with this in gallons. Skouts Honor seriously has the best cat urine and odor cleaner on the market.

Skout’s sent me a bottle of this new formula to try for an honest review. I’m delayed in the review but boy, has this stuff been put to task! THIS STUFF IS THE BOMB!!!! At first I thought the kitty puke wasn’t so bad, so we’d see how well New Formula worked.

Oh my gosh. The cats summer coats are coming in full force; hairball after hairball, food gorge, neurosis cat getting cranky, you name it. Luckily, I purchased the Dog version as well and I’m on that bottle now! You do the initial pick up solids, if any, blot up what you can, give it a good spray down and I use ONLY ONE TOWEL.

ONE. Not 3, or 5 or have to retreat. ONE. And it’s GONE. Odor and all. Skout’s knocked it out of the park on this one!!! Thank you so much for this product. You have saved me so much work!!!.

We have older cat urine smells in carpet and I bought this based on the reviews. I used a spray bottle I own to apply the solution, but I don’t think I saturated the areas enough. After about a week, some odor came back.

Still, this is the best product we’ve tried, so I must recommend it. Will try again. (The initial scent, however, is not pleasing, and I had to open the window for a couple of hours because it bothered me so much.

But the scent does fade away. ).

Our dog kept peeing on the floor and it would run over to the area rug. Each time we would get out the steam cleaner and clean the carpet to the best of our ability with the regular solution. It got to the point where we were doing this almost everyday despite taking him out for a walk right before bed.

We bought a grass pad for him to pee on but he had no interest. Finally we bought the Extreme Urine Destroyer and our problem was mostly solved. We loved that it could be used in our carpet cleaner and followed the directions to a “T.

” We sprayed the solution on the carpet AND the floor and let it sit for 10 minutes before sucking it up. He didn’t make a mess in the house again for over a week. I don’t expect him to be perfect but every night was getting exhausting.

My only regret was not trying this sooner.

We had a house sitter accidentally shut one of our cats in a carpeted room over night. The cat had urinated in a few spots in the room. I used our carpet cleaner, vinegar, baking soda, and air drying.

No matter what the smell was still there. I used the Urine Destroyer as directed and it worked! The product has a nice scent, but it was very strong for a couple days. I left the windows open and kept some fans on to help it evaporate and destroy the urine.

This can size is good for a couple of full bladder cat accidents, maybe 6×6″. If it was just a spray or a minor accident you could get more. The spray nozzle is powerful and really penetrates into the carpet.

I can’t comment on stain cleaning as I didn’t have any visible markings and had to use a black light to find the spots. With my nose touching the carpet, I can’t smell anything but carpet. I’m satisfied.

I have always bought natures miracle for my kids and dogs accidents. But I got so sick when I would smell the other fragrances! I couldn’t stomach it any more because we had used it and I didn’t like the smell it left behind.

This matures miracle seems to work better then others and it literally leaves behind almost a bleach clean smell! No fruity or flowery fragrance! My kids are older and dog is potty trained now but I will always have this stuff for accidents if there are any!.

I just got a puppy about 2 weeks ago. Unfortunately, he came with some illnesses and hasn’t had a clue about potty training. I was going to purchase the original Nature’s Miracle Advanced spray bottle, but came across this one.

I of course was drawn to it because it’s just as good as the original that I was looking to buy, plus it’s an antibacterial! I use it on his crate, spray it on his bedding before throwing it in the wash, his accidents on the carpet, almost everything! To be honest, I’ve even seen a difference in the illness he cane home with.

As a spot cleaner, I’d say it works great as well, but of course it’s always a good idea to shampoo your carpets after they are trained too. For puppy owners especially, I highly recommend this one in particular because it’s so easy your your new little pup to catch something.

I have many dogs and they urinate all over the place. I had to mop the sealed floor with mild bleach and enzyme everyday but the dog room always smelled like dog pee. When I found this odor remover I was so satisfied with the result that I bought 4 more bottles.

The fragrant is surprisingly strong but it eliminated the unpleasant dog urine smell which was build by many years. If you have a deep cleaning job somewhere this is the way to go.

I received the Scotchgard Heavy Duty Water Shield Spray as a Walmart Spark Reviewer. Prior to receiving the Scotchgard I had purchased a different brand which was made specially for rainwear and when we had a horrendous rain storm a few weeks ago was terribly disappointed with how it worked as I got wet through my new coat.

I was anxious to try the Scotchgard because this is April and I knew more storms would be on the way. Yesterday did not disappoint. Again in New York City we had a horrendous rain storm. This time however I had treated my new raincoat with the Scotchgard Heavy Duty Water Shield Spray the day prior to the storm and it worked like a charm.

I was pleasantly surprised by the way the water (rain) literally ran right off the rain coat. The only part of me that was wet, and I mean soaked was the jeans I was wearing that had not been treated with the Scotchgard.

My shoes and rain coat were actually dry within twenty minutes. The rain had completely rolled right off my shoes and coat. See the photos. It literally repels rain just like it says on the container.

It really does create a durable barrier to water. I had sprayed over my coat and shoes one time, the other brand I had to spray, let dry, and repeat and it still didn’t work. With Scotchgard I only had to apply once and it worked like a charm! It drys quickly after spraying and my rain coat did darken a little (which it states may happen) but it worked and that’s what counts.

You can use on furniture, boat canvas, outdoor furniture, shoes, clothing. This product gets five stars!.

I used it on a jacket because it was predicted to rain on our trip. Definitely apply it outdoors or someplace well-ventilated because it takes a while for the chemical smell to dissipate. I applied two coats of the spray to my hooded coat, it took a full 24 hours to not be stinky, but I was totally waterproof! Side note- do not apply spray on windy days, the liquid won’t make it to your fabric and you will be wet next rainstorm.

Myself and my family use Scotchguard and trust it for shoes, boots, coats and outdoor fabric. Makes cleaning simple as you only need to wipe down items with cloth. Does not have oder after drying and does not create yellow film like misc off brands.

One coat in a well ventilated area will keep your items dry but a thin second coat after first dries is okay.

This is the first scratching post that I bought for my kitten that she actually uses!! I took in a feral kitten and I tried the cardboard type with the catnip, and she would only sniff it and then walk away.

I did remove the two balls and replace them with mice, though, because she would bat at the balls and they would bounce back and hit her in the head. It was easy to assemble and appears to be quite sturdy.

Daisy and Punky have had several scratching posts/toys – this is by far their favorite. It is well built and the toys on the stretchy cords have held up. Highly recommend this. TU.
