Update 03/2021: No issues with the range hood at all! The filter is easy to lean. It looks nice with my refinished cabinet, and all bronze hardware that accents the black hood! See updated photo! First Review: I’m renting a condo and didn’t want to spend much on updating the kitchen; the old fan hood was a bisque color and I hated it.
I originally wanted stainless but I decided to go with black – and pleased that I did. The range hood only comes with the hood and 4 screws – I just used everything from the hood I was replacing. The install was very easy (after watching a few YouTube videos) and I am a female.
I only needed an extra hand to hold the range in place while I screwed /secured it in and took me no more than 30 min. I made sure I shut the main breaker off before disassembling/assembling – connecting the ground, black and white wires was easy peasy.
First, this hood looks fantastic. I upgraded all the appliances in a rental apartment to stainless steel, and this fits right in. It works great, is quiet, and the price was incredibly reasonable. I took off one star because it is tricky to install.
In theory, there are keyhole slots, so you should be able to put the mounting screws in pace in the cabinet, and then slide the hood on and tighten the screws down. In practice, my cabinets, like pretty much all cabinets I have ever seen, have a 1″ deep lip around the edges on the underside.
That means the provided screws are not long enough to reach the bottom of the cabinet itself, since the hood is pressed up against the lip. Also there is no template provided, so it would take some pretty exact measuring to preset the screws in all four corners.
In the end, I just had someone hold the hood in place, and used some longer screws to just zip into the underside of the cabinet body. It’s a little hard to reach up and over the stove to get the screw gun angled correctly, so it was a bit frustrating, but I was able to finish up in about 20 minutes.
Highly recommended product, just know that the installation might take some finessing.

I replaced a 43 year old mobile-home range hood because I was never able to use it due to the exhaust fan vent closure flap never working and the hole faced north; the direction we get all of our extreme cold and winter wind from so I had sealed the fan opening off.
In the winter time if I did not keep the cupboards above open my cooking oils would freeze. The grease continued to build up even with continual cleaning until I could not stand it any more. I did not know they made a non-outside-vented hood range until I went looking for a new vent hood.
Because the lip of the cupboard is a bit lower than the actual base of the cupboard I had to use some 3/4″ plywood (2 pieces of 2″ x 11″) as “spacers” on both ends to make the hood level. I attached them to the bottom of the cupboard and then used shorter screws to attach the hood to the plywood.
I used styrofoam insulation and heating-duct tape to seal off the original vent opening. The fan is very quiet and i could feel the difference in the low and high speeds although neither of them were real powerful.
I have yet to need to use the fan since with the hot weather we are still having I have not used the stove top to cook any fatty foods. I like the white verse the brushed aluminum of the original hood; it makes it look lighter and brighter and should be easier to wipe off each time I clean.
I did install this by myself and the only time it would have been convenient to have help is when I went to lift it up and attach it to the cupboard – I am just over 5′ and of retirement age, but I made a couple of props to hold up the back and other side while attaching the first side.
There are only two colored wires (white and black) which you need only to attach to the original white and black wires, and then attach the ground wire to the green screw. There is a plate covering the wires held on by a small black screw.
There are 4 short screws provided (but I used longer and wider threaded screws) for attaching the hood.
I recently purchased one locally for occasional use, so that I could brew beer in my garage in the winter without needing to partially open the garage door to vent the steam from the boil (I use electric heat so don’t have CO/CO2 to vent but a 60-90 minute boil puts 1 to 1.
5 gallons of water into the air). Connected to a very short (4-5 foot) 4″ duct and a dryer vent, this hood moves almost zero air – barely enough to tip the built-in flapper valve. Out of the box, lots of air pressure escapes around the snap-in front vent cover and so I taped that up well – but air movement is still very poor.
The problem lies in the fan and shroud design. The blade design really doesn’t push air well and there is far more air movement laterally off the tips of the fan blades than being pushed through the blades – in other words, it swirls far more air around and away from the fan intake than it pushes through the fan blades and out of the exhaust.
This was largely true even once I disconnected the the 4″ exhaust ducting – with no back pressure whatsoever the fan still tended to swirl more air around the intake than it pushed through to the exhaust.
As mine is built, there’s absolutely no way this fan is going to move anything close to 160 CFM when connected to any typical building vent ducting – if you just want something to swirl air around within your cooking area then buy it, but if you want something that will actually vent through ductwork it’s pretty useless.
I honestly didn’t expect great performance for the low price, but this is so feeble IMO it shouldn’t be on the market at any price. The chassis itself and electrical and venting hookups all suit my needs fine and so I’ll keep it and try some mods.
First will be trying to shroud the fan blades better, mostly out of curiosity and the urge to experiment. But I expect that still won’t give me anything close to 160 CFM and my best option overall is going to be to add a vortex inline duct fan that is actually designed to move air through the ducting.

We are remodeling after 15 years and we got a new electric range. The old hood fan unit needed to be replaced to match and because it was also old. After searching for a few days, I decided on this one.
Glad I did. It was easy to install and the mount holes lined up with the ones from the old unit. I had to cut a hole because this comes with a rectangle vent hole but with a pair of tin snips (I know everyone may not have those but they are cheap to buy and maybe a friend has some) I cut the hole out in about 3 minutes.
It is very quite (fan), bright light (bulb not included but they are a $1) looks high quality and the color matches the range just as pictured. I recommend this for the quality, appearance and price.
This stove exhaust fan is beautiful to look at, it performs wonderfully, with a very quiet fan. And having a 2-speed fan and 2 levels of brightness of the light is fabulous. I wish that this appliance had some form of designation of “fan” and “light” on the outside edge of the fan, so one can more easily identify the placement of these toggle switches.
(Take into consideration those of us who are tall enough such that we have to now stoop down to physically see the location of these switches). My wife initially slightly burnt her hand from the lights, when “feeling” for the light toggle switch, to turn the lights off.
This appliance is quite a “beast” to install by oneself while trying to get the unit level. I had to obtain the advice of a seasoned home builder for advice on physically installing the fan assembly in a level manner.

Update on 01/03/2020: A video of cooking is attached, showing that the smoke is effectively ****** out. Three of my friends and one of my neighbors were using FOTILE #7501, all of them recommended it, so I finally pulled the trigger on this new product #7505, which has more power levels (4 vs 3), higher CFM (600 vs 510 according to other website, not sure the accuracy), and fancy waving feature.
After using it for two weeks with light cooking, here is my impression. Pros: 1. Prompt customer services. Ordered on Nov 24, delivered on Dec 6 (should be earlier, not sure why UPS kept it at the facility near my house for two days), contacted customer services right after delivery, installed on Dec 7.
2. Professional and quick installation. The contractor got it done within an hour: removed the old over-the-range microwave, installed some panels on the wall, cut the cabinet to fit the vent pipe, carried and installed the 70+ lbs range hood by himself, replaced and taped a portion of the vent pipe.
3. Good suction power: The old over-the-range microwave (installed by previous home owner) was useless when cooking peppers, onions, chives, etc. , and I had to close all the doors upstairs and opened the window wide, but it was still smelly hours after cooking.
After installing this range hood, I particularly tried peppers with more corn oils, ingredients, and higher gas power. I could see the smoke and water vapor being ****** into the range, and no smell upstairs after cooking.
Cons: 1. Pricey. $1299 plus 6% tax minus 5% Discover cashback, final price around $1300. This is more expensive then other brands on Amazon, and the same brand in China with similar functions is also cheaper.
In addition, the installation fee was $200, which was covered by FOTILE during the holiday promotion period, so I just needed to sign an installation completion form, and the contractor will get the money from FOTILE.
However, I need to pay $30 for the materials (tape and a portion of vent pipe provided by the contractor, not FOTILE). That being said, when this holiday promotion period ends, you should expect to pay more than $200 for installation, but it varies depending on location and how difficult to install.
2. The stainless steel oil cup is easy to get fingerprint on it. When I helped the contractor to peel off the cover from the oil cup during installation, my fingerprint was everywhere on it. So, remember to wear a glove.
Tips: 1. Although it is winter, I still recommend open the window when using it, if the window is near the range hood. No need to open it wide, just a very small gap that you hand can feel a small amount of air coming in.
Because the suction power is high, the gap can balance the pressure (particularly for good insulation house) and help air flow when the greasy smoke is ****** out. Overall, taking into account the big improvement during cooking (compare to the useless microwave), the 5-year warranty, and my parents are coming with more cooking, I am happy with this product.
I’ve only owned this range hood for a couple weeks now and it works really well so far. The black color is unique and matches to my oven. I’ve gotten some compliments from friends for its modern look.
I used to open all my windows to avoid the smells when cooking steaks or stir-frying. Now I only turn it on to the 2nd speed without opening my windows. Amazingly, you can’t even tell that we just seared steaks.
The lowest speed is what I use the most for soup or veggies and it’s way more quieter than other range hoods I had previously. This range hood is super powerful, you can observe the exhaust airflow under the LED lights.
All in all, I’m happy with its performance, sleek modern appearance and noise level. With this new range hood, I’m more motivated to cook for family and I think this unit is a GREAT value for the money.
Easy installation Four-speed with boost, 300-CFM venting system Electronic backlit controls Dual halogen lighting with nightlight This 30″ Under Cabinet is perfect for removing smoke, grease, odors and moisture.
It features four-speed 300-CFM venting system and two (top or rear) exhaust options. This is convertible model so you can select recirculating or external venting. With Auto-off option you can set the vent hood to automatically shut off after 15 minutes.
I chose this range hood because it matches the color of the GE electric range I just got (which has been great so far), and our last hood was old, ugly, and noisy. This range hood seems adequate. It looks nice, has a fan, 2 lights, does what I need.
Where it’s really fallen short is in the packaging, parts, and manual. The instruction manual included was for the wrong product, and it took me a while to figure out why the parts included didn’t match the inventory list in the manual I did have.
Once I found the right manual online, I still found it to be deficient. The screws in the inventory were labeled D and E, but the instructions referred to screw F at one point. The punch-out hole for the wiring was indicated to have a 1” diameter, but it was actually 7/8” (so, there’s another trip to the hardware store for a strain relief ring).
On the diagram for installing the left and right mounting brackets, the R and L indicators were mirrored in the manual’s picture, so that was another few minutes of confusion to make sure I wasn’t installing things backwards.
The parts were also very tough to work with. The screws that were meant to connect the top of the hood to the mounting brackets were much too large to fit through the holes in the brackets, so I ended up getting some different ones from the hardware store.
Last, one of the clips on the baffle filters came broken. I have a customer service request out, so hopefully I can get a replacement. Stuff like that happens, so that bothers me less than the other packaging and documentation headaches I had.
Anyway, it’s installed now and I’m glad that’s over with. Like I wrote earlier, the product seems fine, but the quality of the parts for installation and manual were so difficult to work with, I don’t think I could recommend this to anyone unless you’re planning to hire a professional to install it.
This is the worst. The ventilation part is fine. It’s the lights. First of all, they are halogen which make it hot and take way more energy than an LED. The worst part is that they are impossible to change! Good luck even getting the bulbs out let alone replacing them.
The wires become unattached from the housing when you get the bulb out making it absolutely impossible to get the new bulb in. There is no way to get into the unit. I was able the first time to get GE to fix it because it was still under warranty.
The second time, they want to charge me $138 just to look at it – not even change the bulb. So you have to schedule a service appointment and pay hundreds of dollars just to get a light bulb changed.
Love the look, feel and operation of the range hood. But description and manual touted a 10-minute install. It took that long just to open the package and peel off the protective plastic films. It is difficult on a replacement to hold the hood in place and mark the new hole locations (why make it different than prior Profile-class products ?).
Two machine screws to attach the rectangular exhaust port adapter feed right into the body of the fan housing (bad placement). The unit was shorter than my old Profile range hood, so it left an inch of old wall exposed under it.
Instructions were confusing about installing the baffle for exterior exhaust. Once I finally had an experienced installer take over, it ended well. Very pleased with the unit once installed. Slight dent in the top of the unit, but not noticeable once installed.
Low fan speed is pretty quiet, but other settings get very noisy.

OK, the first one I received was damaged, Ferguson immediately sent a replacement. they were great to work with! The second hood was fine, no issues at all. It was easy to install but you will need two people to do it as it is heavy.
This works like a professional hood, you will need to crack a window as it REALLY moves air! There are intake vents you can purchase and install to alleviate cracking a window. Its not quiet but no big hood like this really is, generally the lowest two settings will be all you need and those aren’t too bad for noise.
The lights deliver plenty of light to see what you are doing. The clean lines of this hood make it easy to keep clean and the filters come out easily for cleaning. I do wish there was another filter that stopped all the grease, I will need to make one as some grease does get the baffles.
But for the money, if you want something that will truly clear the smoke out quickly, this is a good buy.
The hood fits perfectly into the theme of our 100 year old farm house. The option to add the stainless steel moulding was the perfect touch. We only have 7′ ceilings so had to purchase the short ceiling kit in addition to the hood.
We went with the recirculating option and while it does a good job we mY end up doing a direct vent as we can still set off the smoke detector! It’s not a quiet fan by any means but it is great quality for a very reasonable price.
I love love love this range hood. Its great quality, solid and very well made. I will be using it with my all white cabinets, white countertops and stainless appliances. I chose this because its eye catching, and different enough that I know I wont see it in anyone elses kitchen.
Perfectly illuminate your cooking area with two light settings. Select the intensity so you can easily see your recipe, ingredients, and masterpiece in progress! This range hood comes in stainless steel finishes so you can match your kitchen perfectly.
With two fans in it, this is much more exhaust hood than I need for my home kitchen. The quality is nice and at the lowest setting, the fan is pretty quiet. I bought it to replace a microwave that didn’t vent outside.
After reading news stories about the dangers of natural gas I wanted to get my gas stove vented to the outdoors. Be warned, the installation is painful. I watched the video online from Hauslane and of course they don’t show the struggle to get the screws in from under the hood, or the issue of the plug being right next to one of the screw holes so cutting out just the right amount of space for the plug but leaving room for that screw is quite challenging.
The fan is really heavy and would be a major challenge for a single installer, unless you have jacks, which is what the video showed. I watched a Youtube video of a homeowner tackling the installation with two friends and it took them ten hours.
That ended up being how long it took us as well. It would be nice if the designers at Hauslane would re-consider those two back screw holes that are wedged so close to the fans as to be nearly impossible to deal with.
And put the plug in a different spot! Based on the difficulty to install and that it’s much more powerful than most home kitchens need, I wouldn’t recommend it to a friend. But the quality of the hood itself is very high.
The UC-PS18 was the perfect upgrade for replacing the outdated hood in my 1940s house as it fit into the rectangular vent that was already there. Installation waa a relatively easy one man job thanks to cabinet jacks I bought on Amazon.
The only drawback was that it was very difficult to reach the left and fight rear mounting screws attached to the bottom of my cabinet. I could not finish tightening these srews as it was nearly impossible to acces them even with a very long screwdriver.
Fortunately, the front screws were much easier to access and when fully tightened they held the hood in place solidly and securely. Once installed, the hood worked exceptionally well. It is only moderately loud, about what i would ezpect for a high power fan.
The noise was not an issue to me. It also moves air out and away from my range very efficiently. I upgraded my hood as i just bought a Bluestar rCS range that can deliver quite a high amount of BTUs.
The hood vents very well, and my amoke alarms no longer go off like they did with my old GE XL44 range and antique hood. Very happy with how well it works, and it’s a much better deal than the $1800 Bluestar hood.
This is an incredible product. It looks like a professional level hood and performs like one. It is also very well designed and is easy to install. Even at the highest setting it is still relatively quiet.
I recommend you use it at full speed for short periods of time when searing meats or pan frying fish and then lower it to halfway speed for a few minutes after cooking to evacuate any smoke or odors.
The timer is an excellent idea and works great for this. At the halfway setting it is very quiet. If you are cooking something for long periods of time like a pot op beans the lowest setting is all you need.
Cleaning this range hood could not be easier. Remove the oil collection pan and wash it in the sink. The grates are better washed in a dish washer if you have one. I like to use a stainless steel appliance cleaner to clean the inside and outside and then give it a final buffing with a soft cloth.
The simple fact that you don’t have to deal with those flimsy aluminum mesh filters is well worth the price of this hood.
An under cabinet range hood that’s ultra-slim, with a height of only 5 inches. And with our powerful 600 CFM dual blower pre-installed and ready to use, this hood has everything you need to get the job done.
Stylish, good finish quality, reasonably sturdy, twin fan motors will remove every hint of smoke or odor. Safe, rounded corners with no visible seams. I usually use the lowest setting. Lamp system has just one setting.
It is not super bright but just okay. Works great as a night light. For this price point it should at least have a hi-low setting at least. The only negative is the noise level. It’s okay while cooking, it won’t drive you crazy or anything, and it’s always good to have more exhaust power than you need.
But even on the “quiet” setting, you will not want to leave it running in the background during dinner. The highest level sounds like it could extract your furnishings and small unattended children.
If lighting is important to you avoid this range hood. Cold, fluorescent-like and way too dim with one brightness setting. Also, the fan is loud on the quiet setting, unbearable above that and the fans click.
I’m now going to have to try to sell a brand new range hood on Craiglist just so I can replace it. It’s bad enough that I can deal with eating the cost of replacement. Lesson learned.
I love the look, and the rounded corners. The filter covers the whole underneath of the hood and can be cleaned in the dishwasher. My old range hood was really hard to clean. The lighting is good, and there are several fan speeds.
I’ve only used it for a couple of weeks, but so far so good. I would purchase it again.

Fed X damaged the hood in transit and Home Outlet took care of a replacement immediately with no hassle. The hood is the second one I’ve purchased for my other home and it is a fabulous product. Couldn’t be happier with my experience and the product.
This is the 3rd hood that I have installed in my kitchen and it’s the first one that actually works. Even on the lower fan speeds it captures cooking smoke better than either of my previous two hoods, and the price was very reasonable.
The reason I didn’t give five stars is that I am having difficulty finding the correct LED bulb type to put in the heat lamp sockets. I don’t want a heat lamp, I am looking for more LED light, but unfortunately Customer Service has left me on my own trying to find the correct bulb.
If you can solve that problem for me, you get 5 stars.
First time ordering through this company, really couldn’t find any reviews online so I was a little worried at first. But my range hood and range I ordered they look amazing in my kitchen! Just received the items 2 days later after stated.
However, I’d buy again from them and would recommend.

We bought this in April of 2021 when planning our kitchen remodel and we installed it in early August 2021. Pros: 1) It was shipped and arrived quickly. 2) It looks great. 3) Included all the parts we needed (blower, hood exhaust extension, hood, and even the 6″ flexible exhaust tube but we had a slightly longer run so we did not use it).
4) Price discounted from $1,399 to $379. 95 (our first warning sign). 5) Seems to have been built with high-quality parts on the outside. Cons: 1) Difficult to install the exhaust cover: The extension is a great idea but whoever designed it has never had to install it.
The screws in the top to hold up the extension require a backing plate (included) but you have to have 4 arms, 2-4 legs to hold you up but only 1 body as there is not enough maneuvering room for 2 people to effectively hold up the extension and screw in the screws.
We eventually used sheet metal screws on the side that was less obvious and screwed the bottom part of the exhaust cover into the top (extension) part of the exhaust cover to hold up the top extension so it was close to the ceiling.
I could have designed a better solution! 2) Does not vent well. The hood might be too far from the range but is within the recommended distance. As a result, it does not appear to be effectively working as a range hood and lacks in the venting of the heat/smoke from the oven/range.
We even did a paper test to prove to us that the fan was actually sucking air because not even our hands could feel it when the fan was turned on “High”. We took out the filters too so we could make sure they were not blocked.
Our home inspector told us we could not exceed 400 CFM of airflow give our house is spray foam insulated and sealed up. This unit claims a 120/240/320/400 CFM airflow. I blow more out of my lungs than the highest setting – and I proved it in our paper test with the setting on #4 (400 CFM – no way).
There is NO blockage in our vent work either – this is 100% the fan/motor. 3) It is wicked loud. Think about boarding a passenger jet from the runway and the Jet Engines are on – now turn up the volume.
It is so loud that you have the leave the kitchen to talk when set to #3 or #4 (settings #1 and #2 just seem to create noise but no airflow). This is a 22′ X 14′ kitchen too, so not a small kitchen. I know what they say the decibels are ( 20/29/34/41 – Decibels) but there is NO WAY! Those posted numbers on the spec sheet can’t be as high as 50% of the real volume when the fan is on! If I had a decibel reader I would give real numbers.
I have been trying to guess how far away from the fan was the test conducted? That is the only explanation I can come up with on this fantastical metric. 4) To turn off the fan you have to push the power button twice.
Mostly just annoying. Why not just allow us to push the # button a second time to turn off the fan – like the ligths? Oh, to turn off the lights you have to push the lights button as the power button only turns off the fan (when pressed twice) but the lights stay on until you press the lights button again – like a real toggle switch.
So, to turn of the fan and the lights you have to push a button 3 times. I guess the good news is that it is consistent since you have to press the power button and then the fan # button to turn on the fan.
Honestly, I think they should just lose the power button as it complicates the user interface. If the fan is on #1 and you press #1 – the fan should turn off. If you press #2 it should power up to #2 level.
etc. Simple, expected, and it saves on parts too – increasing the profitability of the hood. A win-win! Your welcome. Summary: The hood looks great and the price after the discount was too good to be true.
We should have known that the price was too good but we took a chance. We are paying the price. Don’t make our mistake – buy a hood with a better “blower” and you will be happier.
Nice looking and works well but if you have anything more than a 8′ ceiling this hood is not worth it. ZLine was WAY TOO MUCH for an extension which prices this thing out of the market. The extension is $180 or half the price of the hood!! We have 9′ ceilings and with the ZLine RA36 range we are still at 38″ above the range.
Code max is 36″ and personally it needs to be 33″ or 34″. We are giving it 4 stars because of good initiative bad judgement.

This range hood was a great upgrade to my 20 year old kenmore hood. Although the fan is incredibly loud on the highest setting, it sucks everything right out. Be sure to wear gloves when cleaning filters.
Don’t be like me and end up with band aids on ever finger after.
It operates well, but I had two problems with it. It was dented right out of the box, a complaint that others had, but it wasn’t installed for a few months after I purchased it, as we were waiting for the kitchen renovation to be completed.
Therefore it was after the return window. Tough luck Charlie!!The lights were energy hog and HOT halogen instead of the model with the updated LED lights that I had thought I purchased. I swapped them myself, but I had to go the trouble and expense to do it.
This is a very good and nice looking range hood. I’m giving it four stars, instead of five, for reasons others have pointed out. The lack of a template for the screw holes and the halogen lights are minuses.
I’m considering them minuses due to the cost of the range hood, guess I expect more for this price range. I’m handy so the screw holes being a pain to reach is lessened if you use a long attachment on whatever you use to drive the screws in.
The halogen lights do seem to be more directional and I do see a slight flicker on the low setting. However, everybody seems to only use the high setting anyway. The lights also get very hot on high so we joke about them being that way because they are meant to keep your food warm when you turn off the range.
LOL. I will most likely replace them with an LED alternative as others mentioned. The sound of the blower motor is a non-issue for us. I don’t consider it to be quiet. Ours is setup for recirculation and produces a deeper pitched “jet engine.
?” type of sound, which is not a problem for us on any of the settings. There doesn’t seem to be that much differences in sound between the lowest and highest blower settings. It just lets you know that it is moving a lot of air.
My wife loves it and I would recommend it. The build. com transaction was great and it was packaged very well!.

I am rebuilding my 30 year old house. The kitchen is going a black color. I could not find a quiet, low cost, black color stove hood in Atlanta Ga. I found venting direct with google, they had the color, the price and I received it in 4 days.
I am a very satisfied customer. By the way the only units I found locally at the big box stores cost 3 times this.

When replacing all our 1978 GE appliances with new ones the old hood had to go. NEW hood had to match new stove, etc. Bought the basic hood. primarily for ILLUMINATION rather than air handling. Hood cones with an A15 40W incandaescent bulb.
Bulb on this one is sequesterd by a light diffusing and dampening cover/lens. Did I mention a 40w. bulb? Original hood had a 60w bulb. The light in the new one is great for creating MOOD LIGHTING, however, if you are in the MOOD TO SEE what you are cooking, get a flashlight.
A quick call to customer service (Rebecca was great) regarding substitution of LEDs that consume less than 40w yielded NO USEFUL INFORMATION. Seems I should be able to make this substitution, use less than 40 watts and deliver several hundred more lumens than the A15 40W provided.
Rebecca escalated this inquiry and if all goes well, I’ll get a response on the morrow. Today is solstice so tomorrow MUST, by definition, be brighter!!! Great choice if you have auxilary illumination available.
or if you can substitute LEDs. NOT PLEASED this was manufactured in CHINA. if I’d have known I’d have shopped around. YES, I know that GE is owned by a CHINA corp.
This does a better job than the previous built in microwave did. This took me a good portion of the morning to install. I have no experience with this type of work and I think it turned out great. It definitely looks fabulous in my kitchen.
Please note, it does not come with a plug, but meant for hard wiring it. I purchased the plug from the GE website (hood purchased from Lowes). A YouTube video later, I was able to successfully hook up the plug and the unit works wonderful.
Keep the air in your kitchen fresh and clean with this convertible range hood that features a 400 cfm centrifugal blower for removing steam, smoke and cooking odors. The removable, mesh filters make cleanup quick and easy.
Have had this unit for some years now. It works great and looks great, nice contemporary look. I am fairly handy so have been able to remove the drum fan to clean, lube and stop a squeak (something most people could not do) which may have been due to fan sliding and rubbing the housing.
It’s a bit of a squeeze to get the unit down to do the cleaning but not too bad. One complaint I have is the light bulbs. They are difficult to remove and even more so to get lined up to replace with a new bulb with this bayonet base type and the finish housing.
You almost cant fit both, and very hard to line up the bayonet without removing the housing which then is difficult to push back in. Like too many appliances these days, I wonder of the designers ever had to try to use the products they come up with.
We have had this range hood for a year and couldn’t be happier. We upgraded our appliances after 21 years of use. Our KitchenAid dishwasher sprung a leak after 21 years so we replaced it with another KitchenAid, then decided to replace our Whrilpool range of the same age.
Both new ones were SS so we had to change the Almond range hood to SS so it would match, This range hood is easy to clean with the Whirlpool SS cleaner. The lighting is excellent and the fan works very well.
We mostly use the low setting because the others aren’t needed. The one thing i would recommend is to get the charcoal filters for the inside fans to reduce food odors. I still haven’t bought mine but i do recommend it.
The Whirlpool 30-inch convertible under-cabinet hood came with my appliance package installed in my new home. I have always been please with Whirlpool products and this hood is great. My prior hood experiences were over the stove microwaves, so this is my first hood only application.
The built in lighting illuminates the entire cooking surface and surrounding area. I like to see while I cook and this hood does not disappoint. Plenty of light for all corners of the cooking surface, and I can even see down into my deepest pots.
The 3-speed fan is awesome. The high setting moves a lot of air, lifting steam and heat up out of your face. I have used the high fan setting while cleaning my oven for the first time. I was impress on how it pulled all the smells of a very hot oven out of the kitchen.
Great suction! The medium speed is great for all my normal cooking including one skillet activity plus other pans. The low speed is very quiet but don’t let that fool you. This quiet fan ventilates more air than it sounds, and it’s great for normal baking oven activities to lift heat coming out of the oven vent.
Plus I use the low setting while heating the tea kettle. I am really pleased with this Whirlpool 30-inch under-cabinet hood and recommend this to anyone that is in the market for a new hood for over the range.
This hood is a pleasure to use, and I look forward to to many years of trouble free use.
Have the best of both worlds with beautifully crafted Whirlpool 30″ Stainless Steel Under Cabinet Range Hood ! A contemporary solid bronze accessory that can accent any kitchen and a brilliant venting technology that offers the best quality.
Featuring three fan speeds and 250 CFMs, this Whirlpool essential can handle any heat or smoke thrown at it. Provides precise electronic control with visual feedback on settings and selections. Also featuring a Re-circulation that happens through filters to help keep the air fresh. By not having to connect to outside air, this hood can be installed almost anywhere. Dishwasher-safe, full-width grease filters trap unwanted grease and odors and wash easily for reuse.
LED Task lighting is designed to last longer than standard incandescent light bulbs.
I bought this unit more for the lights than for the fan. The lights were great, but within 6 months they dimmed and stopped working. The repair guy came and said he needed to order parts. Three months later he came back only to find he ordered the wrong part.
I’m not sure if that is really the case or if the unit is a complete dud. It has been 2 months now and I haven’t heard from him. When I contacted whirlpool I got the run around. They couldn’t find my work order, the repair guy didn’t update the records.
This is ridiculous. I know it is not an expensive unit, but my builder grade fan that this one replaced was working fine after 28 years. I only replaced it because I wanted stainless steel. I am so disappointed with Whirlpool and this product.
I can not speak to the longevity of this product as it has been hanging in my kitchen for only a week at this point. What I will say is that we bought it open box to get it cheaper and it said excellent condition on the open box description.
It was indeed fine and came with all parts and instructions. It looks very nice in our kitchen and saved a lot of space where the microwave used to be. It is nice that this can be vented or not and we chose not to vent as there was no vent in the kitchen in the first place.
I didn’t really buy this so much for the fan as for the LED lights which do provide plenty of light over my stove. The only complaint I have about this product so far is the instructions could be better about how to mount it.
We got it done though. It’s simple, sleek looking, and looks nice and clean.
I bought this from Best Buy in November 21 for this project. (RETURN POLICY 15 DAYS) Trying to install in an IKEA kitchen. American cabinets have a void in the bottom when the hood is installed. IKEA does not have avoid.
no recirculation. 15″ from the back covers the vent plate totally. Working on finding installation data, no help from Whirlpool.
Dishwasher-safe stainless steel baffle filters – Built-in LED lighting – High performance 4-speed motor ZLINE is the industry leader in range hoods and stands by the quality and longevity of their stainless steel range hoods.
Range Hood Decibel Levels ZLINE Range Hoods are supposed to be seen, not heard. That’s why at most speeds, our range hoods are quieter than your average conversation. Rest assured that your new range hood will not be interrupting your dinner party or when you’re helping with homework.
Sku 432. 30 barcode 814118022973 ZLINE 30 in under cabinet range hood stainless steal. Being a life long cook and generally having decent kitchen equipment. I have never had a proper vent hood that would vent out of the house.
Recently I moved to an older condominium complex that is experiencing a revival of sorts. Many of the units are undergoing renovations as the age of the residents drops to mid 40’s. I saw the kitchen in my unit and though it’s eh ok I guess.
It was not my style though. Once moved in we started our kitchen renovation where I could finally get a proper range hood. New cabinets, flooring, walls removed and finally a proper ranger hood a new 30in stainless ZLINE range hood.
All that work is part of phase one. In a year or so phase two will be replacing appliances. I have my eye on a few more ZLINE products for that part of the renovation and upgrade.
The Good , Very nice looking after touchup (see the bad) Crown Molding really finished the look off. Packaged very well on a pallet. The Bad , Doesn’t seem to exhaust any better than my cheap microwave over cabinet model, and yes I have 8″ duct straight up through the roof.
The duct that comes with the hood to connect to the ceiling duct is very thin cellophane like material , thinner than Reynolds wrap. Very loud for the amount of air it moves. , I wouldn’t mind if it really cleared the fumes Pop rivets on back were rusted , welding heat marks on the Crown Molding, and a few places had scratch marks from manufacturing in multiple places on hood and molding.
They cleaned up somewhat. ,not perfect In this price range I expected a much higher quality product ,but the chance we take not seeing before buying.
Installing this stove hood is quick and easy. The Fit system eliminates measuring cutting and filler strips for a smooth fit every time. Once installed the hood vent kitchen fan operates at a quiet 56 dBA at its lowest of two fan speeds so it won t disturb family time in the kitchen.
Plus incandescent lighting helps you keep a close eye on food so each dish turns out the way you want it to. And when cooking introduces steam grease smoke or odors into the surrounding air a 190 Cfm motor class 1 takes care of it.
This is a great range hood for its intended purpose. For a basic range hood this one is hard to beat. It was easy to install, and it is well constructed and sturdy. The fan motor is quiet, even on the high speed setting.
I bought this to replace the original Ventline range hood that I had for about 18 years. This seems to be a much better range hood. The price at Best Buy was the least expensive that I found. The Ventline range hood that I replaced moved about 100 cfm, this range hood moves up to 190 cfm, almost twice the capacity.
It is also a rather nice looking range hood as well. I would purchase this range hood again, and would recommend it to others.
This fan came with our new KB Home. Its just to say the home has a hood vent. It so cheap with very little suction. I will definitely be having too change out. At 190 CFM I woul invest in something much better.
Enjoy Air Free of Smoke and Odors with the GE Profile 30 White Range Hood This GE Profile 30 White Range Hood improves your air quality by removing smoke, moisture and cooking odors from the kitchen.
A three-way ducting system and the two-speed fan work together to help this range hood work quickly. Now that you can easily diffuse steam and smoke in the kitchen, you don t have to worry about sounding the smoke detector while cooking.
Whether you re in need of a night light or a brighter cooking area, this GE Profile 30 White Range Hood will come in handy. The cooktop light provides the task illumination you need for cooking, and the night light will guide you in the dark while searching for a midnight snack.
Looks good over my GE range. Works good too. I installed myself which was a little bit of a struggle because had to lift over my head. Instructions were clear and easy to follow. The only thing I’d say negative is no where in description did I read had to buy power cord.
It went in readily enough. the fan works but is very loud. I regret mightily that there is no grease shield over the light bulb. no need for extra work in keeping things clean. am currently looking for a less bright bulb as it is impossible to use as a night light if you are of small stature.
it gets you right in the eyes! Recommend with these reservations.
This is a simple range hood with a light and two speed fan. It does the job but is very noisy, I mean like there is a jet in the kitchen. We chose to vent it to the outside rather than recirculate the filter air or vent into the attic.
Neither of those choices seemed to make sense. It is powerful enough to get steam and cooking smells out so I’m well satisfied with it’s basic function, which is to get the air out of the kitchen. I would recommend this unit as long as you can live with the noise.
