Congratulations to the SocialMoms Blog of the Week!

Lisa Dewey Wells - Wonder of ChildrenCheck out Wonder of Children Blog, written by Lisa Dewey Wells, from Annapolis, MD. Her journal about life in the classroom is full of stories, strategies and research on how to best support the kids in our lives. It’s been recognized by several child development experts as a source for sound advice, concise writing, and cutting-edge educational research.  Folks like Chip Wood (author of Yardsticks, Child Development 4-14), Rae Pica (Pica Perspective), Michael Gurian (Gurian Institute) and Responsive Classroom all include Wonder of Children on their blog rolls or recommended reading list.

Lisa is the type of teacher who prides herself on getting to know each learner as an individual, creating classroom spaces that mesh the social side of learning with the academic.

Lisa Wells‘ teaching research has been featured in IndependentTeacher.org, the Responsive Classroom newsletter, and the blog, TwoWritingTeachers.  Parents, caregivers and teachers admire the story-telling format and informative tips for working with young children.  Lisa has been a teacher for nearly 20 years and a parent for nearly 16 years. Working with children and parents keeps every day full of wonder and learning for Lisa.

When she’s not in the classroom or blogging, you can find Lisa practicing yoga, skiing with her family, enjoying Chesapeake Bay or on the jogging trails. Congratulations, Lisa! We love you. Keep up the great work!
