August 26, 2020

Another month is ending, but it really just feels like Groundhog Day, doesn’t it? After weeks and months of everything being the same, it’s getting to hard to remember what life was like before the COVID-19 pandemic changed our world. Give your mind a break, and catch up on some celebrity mama news!

Lea Michele Gives Birth

There’s a little bit of joy to go with Lea Michele’s “Glee” right now (see what we did there?). The actress and her husband, Zandy Reich, have welcomed their first child! Michele gave birth to son, Ever Leo, on August 20, and despite being in the middle of a pandemic, everything seems to have gone well.

“Everyone’s happy and healthy, and they’re extremely grateful,” a source said on Sunday. “[Ever]’s been an easy baby so far. They’ve always wanted to be parents.” Back in 2014, Michele told Glamour UK, “I’m going to have like a billion of them! But mainly because I always hated being an only child, I always wished I had more siblings!”

The couple were first romantically linked in July 2017 before tying the knot in March 2019. We wish them all the best. Congratulations to the growing family!

Kellyanne Conway’s “Less Drama”

After four years of standing solidly by the side of President Donald Trump, Kellyanne Conway is leaving the White House. She was the first female presidential campaign manager to successfully lead a candidate to victory and went on to become a senior counselor. Now, she’ll be “transitioning from the White House at the end of this month.”

George Conway, her outspoken husband, is also making changes. On Twitter, he announced that he’s “withdrawing” from The Lincoln Project, a Republican anti-Trump political action committee, in order to “devote more time to family matters.” He did add, however, that he continues “to support the Lincoln Project and its mission. Passionately.”

So, what led to all of this? The couple’s 15-year-old daughter, Claudia, who is one of their four children, has developed a viral following on TikTok by taking a hard stand against Trump. She’s also publicly commented on the turmoil within her family and the fact that she’s seeking “emancipation” from her parents.

In her statement, Conway addressed the situation and said, “We disagree about plenty but we are united on what matters most: the kids….As millions of parents nationwide know, kids ‘doing school from home’ requires a level of attention and vigilance that is as unusual as these times. This is completely my choice and my voice. In time, I will announce future plans. For now, and for my beloved children, it will be less drama, more mama.”

Vanessa Bryant Honors Kobe’s Birthday

This has been quite a year. It’s hard to believe that Kobe Bryant’s death was seven months ago, but here we are. The world might be preoccupied with the pandemic, but his wife and family are still mourning the loss of the basketball star and his 12-year-old daughter, Gigi.

Over the weekend, Vanessa Bryant honored her late husband on what would have been his 42nd birthday. “To my baby~ Happy birthday. I love you and miss you more than I can ever explain. I wish you and Gigi were here to celebrate YOU! I wish I could make you your fav food or a birthday cake with my Gigi,” the mother of four said on Instagram.

The widow’s heartbreaking message also said, “Our lives feel so empty without you and Gigi. I’ve been completely broken inside. As much as I want to cry, I put a smile on my face to make our daughters’ days shine a little brighter. I’m not the strong one, they are. They’re strong and resilient. I’m sure you’re proud of them. They put a smile on my face everyday,” Vanessa said.

Along with Gigi, the Bryants shared Natalia, 17, Bianka, 3, and 14-month-old Capri. Natalia also shared a tribute on Instagram. “Happy Bithday Dad ❤️ I miss your smile, laugh and big bear hugs. Happy Birthday to the best movie buddy I could have ever asked for. I will always remember our late night drives to the movie theater with the windows rolled down and listening to our favorite songs. I love you forever and always. Always, Slim.”
