Clarkson Shows Love for Underwood
Not long after Carrie Underwood announced her second pregnancy, the singer revealed that she had suffered three miscarriages in two years. While this undoubtedly resonated with many of her fans, fellow American Idol winner, Kelly Clarkson, also took notice.
During an appearance at the 2018 iHeartRadio Music Festival in Las Vegas, Clarkson said, “Carrie’s killing it, and she’s pregnant! What?! I hated singing pregnant… I’m so happy for her! I didn’t know a lot of the situations that were happening behind the scenes. I have a lot of friends who have gone through that several times as well.”
Indeed, miscarriage seems to be more common than many of us realized. Perhaps it’s because women tend to grieve their loss in private. Clarkson praised her friend for shedding light on the topic so that other women will know that they are not alone. Very true.
Kim K Proud of Daughter’s Runway Debut
While many moms are proud in the audience of a school talent show or play when their child hits the stage, things are a little more intense for Kim Kardashian. The mom of three cheered from the sidelines as her daughter, North West, walked the runway for the first time.
The five-year-old was featured in the kid-friendly L.O.L Surprise Fashion Show and, by all indications, it was a success. Dressed in what appeared to be a Michael Jackson-inspired outfit called “Thrilla,” North confidently walked up and down the pint-sized catwalk.
The proud mom took a break from posting stories and pictures from the event on Instagram to pose with her daughter. It looks like they had a great time!
Serena Williams and Meghan Markle’s Supportive Friendship
It has been an interesting year for close friends, Serena Williams and Meghan Markle. The tennis champ has been finding a new place on the court following the birth of her daughter last year, which brought on a host of life-threatening issues. She’s also made headlines for speaking up about the fact that she’s subjected to doping testing more often than her counterparts in the sport and, of course, most recently got into a heated exchange with an umpire at the U.S. Open.
Meanwhile, despite marrying Prince Harry and becoming a royal, Markle’s life has been far from a fairytale. Her family, including her father, Thomas Markle, and sister, Samantha, has chosen to take all of their grievances public, making her first few months as a newlywed pretty dramatic. Who needs enemies when you’ve got friends (or family) like that?
Fortunately, Williams, who was seen attending the royal wedding with husband, Reddit co-founder, Alexis Ohanian, says they’ve been helping each other get through these tough moments in the spotlight. Tennis great says that they are as connected by their “penchant for hot sauces” as they are their “endless ambition.”
We all need a friend who can relate to our struggles and, of course, appreciate our love the finest condiments. May the year ahead be the best one yet for Williams and Markle!
