10 Best Solar Fountain Pump With Battery Backup (2022 Updated)

This product is very attractive. I bought the identical item two years ago. It is easy to put together and works well, but must be completely full of water. The problem is that you cannot buy replacement parts.

After two years, the solar panel stopped functioning and some of the rubber rings disintegrated. I also wish the solar energy could be stored. The birdbath doesn’t work unless it is in full, direct sun.

I liked it enough to buy a new one this year and may use the first as a planter.

This blue ceramic fountain is on my north-facing apartment balcony, used as a birdbath. It’s a pretty, shiny bright blue. Easy to put together even for a klutz like myself. You need to be patient and move the solar screen into different spots/positions till you get the best flow.

When I move to my house with a yard, I’ll put it in direct sunlight. The brochure is well written (surprise), and they freely admit it won’t flow if the sun isn’t blazing. One star off, because I have solar lights that work all night even on a cloudy day; maybe the pump requires much more power.

This fountain is very cute and looks like the pictures. Because it is solar the pump only works when sunlight is direct. It will sputter or stop working when slightly overcast. When it sputters the water spills outside the bowl.

You will also need to add water because of this and evaporation. Otherwise it looks great and I intend to place it on garden pedestal as a birdbath. The directions say only to use it with the solar pump but I have found some adjustable water pumps for table fountains that are inexpensive and may be suitable.

I would give it a 5 except for the issues with using a solar pump.

Nicest fountain I have ever owned. The light is so pretty at night. Relatively easy to assemble and very durable. Would order again!

Haven’t been able to put it out yet due to the weather but I’m pleased with the finish and size. Everything looks great and I can’t wait to put it in the garden. Birds are sure to love it.

I have had this fountain for 2 years, and I’m on my third pump. If the fountain ever runs low on water and runs without it will burn out the pump and you’ll have to replace it. There should be some type of auto shut off because unless you check your water level nearly every 2 days you’ll burn out the pump.

I just set this up again this year and now the solar panel has no power and it’s been in the sun for weeks. I tried a new pump and it just won’t work anymore, it won’t turn on. Very sad but I am going to have to replace this with something else.

I LOVE angels. I also LOVE fountains. This fit the bill perfectly. We had one spot left in our new yard to beautiful & this fountain would do the trick. PROBLEM!! NO WHERE in the description does it say you need an adapter.

Just says runs on solar power. The beautiful fountains does run great on solar power & sounds relaxing & delightful. When it arrived & we were looking at the directions, the directions now mention an adapter to fully charge the solar panel.

The ADAPTER is sold separately. If info about the adapter had been mentioned in the description & we could have purchased it at the same time & then I would have given 5 stars. I would recommend this but people need to know they need to buy the adapter separately.

If someone would send us the adapter FREEEEEEEE then I would change to 5 stars & be truely happy.

I had been searching for a solar fountain for a couple of years and am very happy to have not purchased until this one. I love it! The size, ease of installment and beauty……..perfect!

Beautiful angel fountain. It makes me smile when I see it and hear the water flowing. I feel relaxed and stress free. Sorry I don’t have a photo to share.

I purchased this beautiful fountain and was extremely satisfied with its beauty and the two different types of heads that can be changed to produce either a stream of water or multiple streams of water, which the birds particularly like! The fountain has performed as promised and has attracted many difficult types of birds, especially beautiful Blue Jays! I love that fountain, though modestly priced, has brought beauty to my garden and tranquility with the subtle sound of water gently trickling and splashing from top to bowl.

This is a very pretty fountain accent for my smallish patio. It is pretty easy to assemble although I thought the pump instructions could have been better. The fountain water sound is very gentle and soothing.

So far I have seen a few birds landing.

I bought this one as a present and when we opened it and got it together the pump would not work. I was so disappointed. Hoping smart solar will see this post and offer a solution for me. I have recommended and bought their fountains and have loved them.

I may be doing something wrong here, but the water does not flow from the top tier to the bottom as pictured. This is because the water flows from the sprinklers down between the solar panel and the top tier.

The solar panel fits into its space correctly but it isn’t watertight. If it was supposed to be I imagine there would be a gasket to keep the water in the top tier so that it could overflow as the tier is designed to do.

Am I missing a part (the gasket)? The fountain would be so much better if it worked as designed. The solar panel functions correctly and charges up even without bright sunlight. It charged up for me in two days of overcast.

I’m just perplexed as to how to get water to overflow the top tier. I couldn’t find a way to actually ask the question in the Q&A section, which just says “no questions have been asked. ” I’m saying I would recommend, but I’m still going to see if I can get an answer to this one issue.

The foundation has a strong and pleasing looking base. I found it a challenge to put together and part of the reason is that the instructions include a number of different models. Also, there are optional pieces.

But the main criticism is the weak output of water. One can barely see the water rise up and it would be hard to even spot from the curb. Also, the water does not cascade from the top tier to the bottom basin as shown in the photo.

The calming effect of the sound of cascading water is also missing.

I researched extensively before selecting this fountain. Because the location on the back patio did not have access to a nearby outlet, a solar fountain was the only option. This is a very attractive fountain.

I purchased a concrete base (which I spray painted a satin black) to add a little more height and presence. This was purely a personal preference. The water flows beautifully over the sphere without any splashing.

The sound is loud enough to be heard without being intrusive. Even though we have a great deal of sun, the battery back up is a great option. The LED light at night is very nice and exceeded my expectations.

Assembly was very simple. The fountain was available from other places, but I decided on BBB because I am familiar with them and they stand behind their products. I purchased this on line which made it very easy.

Shipping process was very fast and efficient Contacted Sunnydaze customer service with a small operational question and they were very helpful and pleasant. I am extremely pleased and satisfied with this purchase.

The solar feature makes this so easy to move wherever you want. The soft sound of water falling over the ridged globe is pleasant and relaxing. Nice addition to the patio.

Cannot stand up to very cold temperatures. Still use it ,But the largest and 1 small pottery sections was completely broken. I substituted with my large used saucepan and a ceramic bowl. Still works and brought it into my porch.

the beautiful humming birds and chickadees and many others come for a drink of water each day. Just keep it out of the coldStill a very nice addition to my garden and All visiting birds.

I have put this solar fountain in my garden for three Summers now and I love it! The pump is really quiet so the only sound you hear is the tranquil splash of running water. Set up is simple; doesn’t take more than a few minutes to set up the bowls and stake the panel.

The solar panel is fairly sensitive; even with a few scattered clouds the water keeps flowing! I added river rock to the bowls and it gave it just the finishing touch it needed and didn’t impede function.

Occasionally the bowls will start to grow greenish algae but a few drops of bleach clears it right up. My only complaint would be that living in the Midwest, temps can get high in the summer and you have to keep an eye on the water level to make sure the water level hasn’t evaporated below the pump.

Looking forward to placed it in my garden again this Spring!.

I have had my fountain for a number of years now. Works as advertised in sunlight. Sometimes have to help get the pump started if the water gets too dirty. I love watching Robins and other birds taking a bath in the bowls.

Great little fountain. Have to replace the pump this winter, ready for spring.

Unless it has the full force of the sun on the solar panel it won’t run. Slight bit of cloud and it stops. Bird flies above it and it stops. Needs a better quality or bigger solar panel for the pump it’s running.

Don’t expect to see any action from it unless it’s a cloudless, blazing sunshine kinda day.

I bought this for as a present for my mother. My mother loves it. It arrived before due date. Easy to put together and worked straight away as the sun was shining. it does not take too much room up and your not having to plug in the electric so it does not matter if you forget to turn it off as its SOLAR yippee , plus no long eletrical wires that mum is going to fall over.

Mum gets so much joy just sitting garden and listening and watching the wheel go round. Spot on!.

Looks and sounds very attractive, but be aware, it requires full direct sunlight on the solar panel for it to pump water. No battery means no sun, no water circulation.
