20 Best Jansport Backpack For High School (2023 Updated)

Bought this for my daughter for school. It’s a good size, however not as many compartments or as roomy as her Roots one. The side water bottle holder is really quite small. The material seems durable albeit a bit stiff.

The suede ties keep coming undone and need re-knotted often. I like the padded straps and back/laptop pouche and the suede bottom, as it keeps the material clean. Jansport is known for its warranty too.

All in all a good pack! A few more pockets and zippered sections would make it perfect, but I think this design is more minimalist.

Jansport continues to stand the quality of time! It’s still the CLASSIC go-to HIGH QUALITY backpack I used in high school in the 90’s. I bought my daughter her Jansport backpack freshman year, it’s now her senior year and the back pack still looks great! Has excellent storage and craftsmanship! You can’t get a better backpack for that price.

Got this backpack for high school and i love it so much. It’s really spacious and has a compartment in the back for my laptop and I can still fit my really big binder and all my textbooks, notebooks, etc.

it even has 2 compartments in the front. So I can fit even more stuff. It also has a water bottle Holder on the side so now I won’t loose my Water bottle all the time Lolw. I’ve always loved tillys, especially their backpacks because they can be more affordable than other other brands and they have everything you can look for in a book bag! Not only do they have amazing bags.

Jansport Backpacks are the best! I’ve purchased them for my daughter for high-school and myself myself for typical use, but love to use it for a personal carry item on planes. JanSport stands behind their product, repairing or replacing for a lifetime.

Trust me, I’ve used the warranty for my daughter’s bag and they were amazing! Recently I had to purchase a new bag after my was stolen. I was intentional about replacing the bag with a JanSport. I’m happy, but I did notice a few changes.

First, my 17″ laptop BARELY fits in the back, padded section and that pocket now only has one zipper pull. Now this could be a different model (but I don’t think so), so I’m left to think they’ve “cut back” on the fabric (literally) and the extra zipper pull.

And this is the ONLY reason my review is 4-star vs 5-star. If you are looking for a good product backed by great customer service and sold at a good price, shop Office Depot for a JanSport!.

I’ve never paid this much for a back pack, but this one has a lifetime warranty! Anything breaks send it back get a new one! For as long as you can keep up with it! Fits all my kids crap! Nice padded shoulders so even when full, it doesn’t hurt her!.

I purchased the daisy mae backpack for my daughter. Seems like it’s great quality that will last all school year long. I like how it has all the zippers and pockets inside it even has a laptop sleeve which will come in handy for her to have her chrome book in.

I bought the pictured Jansport backpack about four months ago to carry my school supplies around in. I thought I would use it about two times a week for my Tuesday and Thursday classes, but I utilize it just about every day.

It is a very durable backpack. The material is thick and lined well. The shoulder straps are padded and comfortable to carry. The zippers are a good quality, with a thicker feel to them, so you can easily pull them and slide them open without feeling like they are going to break or get jammed.

It also has many different sized compartments to keep everything in its own place and organized. I would recommend this backpack because, it can be useful for students to stay organized. The extra details by placing certain compartments like; a padded sleeve to put your laptop in, all comes in handy.

Keeping things in their own place is very important and this backpack does the trick. Jansport also offers a variety of different colors and designs to choose from. This brand really put a lot of effort in to accommodate its customers by providing a variety of styles fit for everyone’s liking.

The only negative thing I can think of is, the backpacks tend to be a little bit pricier than the average backpack/book bag from Walmart, Target, etc. I am willing to pay more for the longevity and the personable touches Jansport has to offer.

This is my first Jansport product. I knew of its reputation and liked that it was founded in Seattle (my town). I needed a roomy, sturdy backpack, especially for traveling. I just completed my first trip with it, and it performed very well.

I carried two cameras in the large section; papers and flatter objects in the laptop section. I am pleased that my laptop would actually fit, but’s heavy with my two cameras it would have been too much weight for my poor back! The other sections carried all sorts of smaller items.

The pack definitely feels well made and rugged.

I love Jansport! They are a super reliable company. I was in the market for a new backpack for commuting and studying. The laptop sleeve is excellent, it also has padding on the bottom. Super roomy for everything.

My favorite feature is the compression straps. I was looking for a backpack that wouldn’t get bulky and the straps are great for that. I had their big student backpack before and that was my number 1 issue with it.

But the straps on this allow is to stay nice and compact! I got mine in blue dusk and it’s lovely!.

Great size for my year two son, can easily hold his home pack, fleece, togs and lunchbox. Love the external drink pocket. Wipes down easily and the zip is really sturdy. Will be buying another when my daughter starts school.

Bag is loved by my 11 year old, red is her favourite colour and this is a great deep red colour. Good size for school drink holder works great and holds a tall bottle without it falling out. Only downside is no pocket for iPad etc which would make it perfect!.

It’s a really good bag, it’s got plenty of space for my books and computer and I can carry my water bottle in the pocket on the side too. Definitely would recommend ✌️

Excellent, durable backpack. Knew I had to have it when I seen they had the Eleven version in their Stranger Things collection & anything from JanSport I knew it would be worth it. Seriously considering buying more in the ST collection.

I have 5 JanSport backpacks & that’s all I will buy. This Stranger Things Eleven backpack is no different. The quality is always Amazing & can be literally used for anything in your daily life. The Gym.

This bag is a good size for a school backpack. I say the quality is on par with what you pay for – solid mid range with a good variety of classic colours. I wanted something simple that matched any outfit my son wore and wasn’t too childish once he outgrew a phase.

I got the dark red and it was true to colour. Zippers are good quality. The model up from this uses actual leather and a higher grade poly but for the price point I’d say it’s on par. I’d say for this size it’s good for a great 1/2 and up!.

Previous jansport was great quality but the zipper started to get stuck so I upgraded to a new jansport. New pocket to hold water bottle is handy! An inner pocket is new to separate laptop from other items.

A little divider in the front pouch as well handy to separate a wallet or phone from other items. Quality looks good. So far happy with the new purchase!.

This backpack is so worth it! Not only is it affordable but the quality is amazing, as expected of classic brands like Jansport. The straps are comfortable and of high quality, and so is the fabric. I had my last Jansport bag for over 5 years and it had hardly showed any signs of wear.

The only reason I gave it away was because school was done and I didn’t need it anymore, but I can definitely see this mini-bag lasting just as long. The design is sophisticated and understated, and has enough room for everything you need.

Great size backpack, the only down fall about this bag is the zipper only last a year worth. We buy 1 every year for the past 4 years n it’s because of the same reason. I will say this bag is used daily.

It’s not a couple time use n zipper no longer, its everyday. So maybe we are getting money worth, maybe not. But overall this is preferred bag thats why we continue to buy.

Absolutely hilarious. I didn’t read the description and thought this was regular size. When it showed it up I laughed so hard. Had to return it to get the regular size. Not sure who would ever want or need a backpack this small, but it was funny for me.

I bought the charcoal floral bag, it looks really nice. It seems quite durable with padded shoulder straps. Size-wise it is large and roomy. The reason I gave it 4 stars are the snap buttons on the front compartment, I think with use they will be damaged quickly.

Other than that concern I’m pretty happy with my purchase.

Looks great and arrived fast, but I was surprised by how light it was, and not in a good way, as the bag felt quite fragile. It was also a bit smaller than I expected, but that’s on me. Overall a good bag for casual use.

I bought this for my daughter, she is a sophomore in high school and spacious good quality backpacks at a decent price can be hard to find. She absolutely loves this backpack and I would definitely recommend it to others.

Now that the current times has change due to school shootings and weapons brought to schools, the new school rules are clear back packs and mesh backpacks. I am a mother of two teenagers and an employee of a school(middle school) and we need you guys to make a clear liner in the inside of the mesh backpacks.

High school students do not want the look of a clear back pack only. Many students ride the school bus and when it rains everything in their bag gets wet, personal and school own books. This can cost the students family lots of money when the school equipment gets ruined.

Please redesign the mesh packs since they will be used from now on across the country in schools. P. S One more request is that you add a pocket of some sort for the laptops that are given to students.

I am a lifetime Jansport user, have always recommended them. I had 2 or 3 during my middle school and high school career over 15 years ago. We didn’t have lockers so everything was carried. My now 4th grader has been using his since pre-k and it is still in great shape even with carrying a chromebook now due to the pandemic.

Nice size and compact. Very good quality. I’ve always had jansport even years ago when I was in school and my 15 year old wanted something simple and plain this year. She likes it and everything fits.

The pouch for the cup is a bonus.

Love the back pack i am able to fit all my books and computer and lunch in this backpack. It’s simple but cute and you can add pins to customize it. Has a slot for a bottle and fits big cups .

My daughter really loves this backpack. The water bottle holder is so handy and keeps the drinks secure instead of floating around in the backpack. It is also it a cute and fun print.

I will use this product for college coming up this fall 2022. I love the color and how comfy and soft it is. Also the water bottle pocket and the internal storage for your laptop which really helps a lot.

If you are a huge fan of Stranger Things like me, you should definitely get this backpack for school or just to use everyday! I promise you won’t regret it!! ;).

Purchased this for my daughter to start primary. She loves the colours and the drink bottle pocket is so convenient! So easy for little hands to open and close and the padding on the back and the straps makes it easy for her to wear walking to school.

I got this from my junior year of high school I’ve had a Kanken since my freshman year and it was just way too small. I knew I wanted something bigger and I spent weeks looking for the perfect bag when I saw this one at target I just had to get it.

it fits all my stuff perfectly and it’s super cute. I love how there is multiple pockets that way I can keep it organized. Each pocket has it’s own purpose and it is going to be great to use for my junior year.

I’m using for my trip to the Mall of America in a couple weeks so I’ll update on it’s effectiveness after then. Over all I would say that it’s super good quality, adorable, and perfect for someone who has lots of classes and extracurriculars like me!.

This backpack is amazing! Very large and perfect for middle school and high school. There are seven pockets in total. Chromebook pocket (all the way in the back) , main pocket (which is HUGE) , second largest pocket (perfect for gym clothes) , a zipper pocket (perfect for your wallet or sunglasses) , a bigger zipper pocket which has the jansport logo on it (has an organizer with 3 pen slots and a pocket for your phone and a key holder more room for any pencils) , a small zip pocket (perfect for your phone, storing pencils and pens, or any hygeine products) , and one water bottle pocket.

I have a 32 ounce water bottle and it fits perfect in there.

Jansport BIG has always been a reliable backpack. I have purchased about 10 in my lifetime for myself and for my kids, and for a bag that is thrown on the floor constantly, with its zipper yanked in different directions, and frequently overstuffed, this brand is great.

It holds up to the wear and tear. Of course, quality control varies and there will always be exceptions right! But this is the only brand I buy.

School shopping pretty late decided to go back to college. Not the best material nor is the size big enough for more then probably 2 classes but just taking one in person class and room for a macbook will do.

And i do think the quality is rather cheap and thin. But this is a “lower tier” version of Jansport bags.

My teenager really wanted this all black Jansport bag. I couldn’t find it anywhere in stores a few days before school started (we looked in the mall for 4 hours!) but was able to snag one online here for pickup the next day.

Easy peasy. And really cute bag. Will work well for school, day trips, overnight bag, or travel bag. I can see her using this for many years. Really happy with the quality of the bag and price!.

I got this backpack for my senior year of high school. I am now on in my 4th semester of college. this bag has held up through it all!! I absolutely love it & the quality, like all jansport bags I’ve purchased, is outstanding.

If you like the style, get it!!! It is an amazing bag for school!!.

I’ve had a JanSport since 1988. Used, abused and put through the washing machine. *No leather types. Soap dries out leather and makes it brittle. Front-load washer or top-load with no twisting agitator, no detergent, no fabric softener, just a little Dawn dish soap (teaspoon).

* Never had to use the lifetime warranty. I have tried many other brands over the years, but none have lasted as long. Hopefully this one last as long as the other JanSport bags I’ve owned.

Granddaughter picked out this backpack after scrolling through hundreds of them shown on Jet. She loves it and particularly all its bright colors. Only drawback we see is that the bottom of the backpack does not have a solid structure to it.

It would have been a really nice added quality and feature to the usefulness of the backpack IF it were more stable on the bottom. That way things would fit better and not just fall all together at the bottom.

The material (although strong) is not very thick or sturdy, so things in the bottom will not be supported ver well. Please consider adding light weight bottom support on your backpacks JanSport. (We have cut out a solid, heavy piece of cardboard to the exact fit size of the bottom, inside dimension.

Awesome backpack that we bought for 9 year old little cousin (Girl). Not trying to discourage anyone not in this age range, but just letting people know it was a hit for sure for that age range. We got this on clearance and we weren’t really sure why it was on clearance because it’s a very cool and unique design.

I love the forest green colour and the bag is very sturdy as well. I have only been using it for a couple weeks but the zippers are very smooth and seem like they will last long. The two front pockets are large enough for multiple items which was what I was looking for.

I don’t know how to explain the size but it’s the size I wanted. I’m using this bag for university at the moment but I believe anyone could use it for any occasion. I definitely recommend this bag!.

I really love this backpack! I had been wanting it for a year and used this back to school season as a way to finally buy this! I have always used Jansport and know that they are great so I have very high expectations for this new one.

Despite the fact that there is only one big pocket you can fit a whole lot – trust me, I’m a high school student with LOTS of textbooks! So far I’ve only used it for a week and so far I have been impressed! It’s very comfortable even when I do have a lot of stuff in it! The only thing that sucks is that the suede at the bottom has already gotten dirty but I guess that’s just because it is on the floor a lot – it’s not too bad and Jansport has a great lifetime warranty so I will send it back if any holes appears any wear.

I love my new backpack and I know I that it was worth the money! my backpacks usually last for 2-3 years because of how sturdy they are so I am super excited to keep using it! I definitely recommend getting a Jansport! They are sturdy, durable, and in style! BTW they are for sure worth the money – you get a TON of uses out of it:).

Somehow, I made it throughout elementary, junior and senior high school without owning a JanSport, however I wish I would have appreciated its beautiful simplicity earlier-on. A word of advice from a college student: you don’t need that complicated and expense multi-pocketed fancy backpack down the aisle for school.

Use your locker and manage your belongings wisely – it will go a long way. The feature of one large pocket (for books, laptop, etc) allows one to minimize the junk that they may be lugging around otherwise.

Do buy.

My daughter LOVES this backpack! It was time for a new backpack this year for her to start middle school with and out of all the backpacks we looked at, In stores and online, she only liked this one.

It is big enough to hold all of her books and etc. Which makes her backpack pretty heavy so it’s very durable too and has held up very well so far. It did take it a while, longer than I expected, for it to arrive, but other than that everything has been great with it! “Review Sweepstakes”.

I was excited to buy this backpack in the English Mustard color because it’s the perfect shade of yellow and hard to find. The color definitely pays off and is even lovelier, cleaner, and brighter in person.

Another deciding factor was that it’s truly monochrome — most other packs have black straps or buckles, but this is truly all ochre yellow. There is decent padding along the back (although the fabric of the laptop pocket itself is not padded at all).

The straps are nicely padded. However, there are some issues. It’s made of thin nylon that is fairly translucent — like if you have something with writing on it inside the main compartment, you can see it through the fabric.

I also think it will fray badly if you scrape it or get a hole in it. I wanted to sew patches on it, but I might need to glue them instead, which I’m not happy about because I like to change my patches.

Also, the pack I received had some frayed fibers coming out of a seam by the pocket. The straps are short and I have to use them all the way let out. I got it with a sale price, which was decent but is still a little much.

But the color does make it special. Had I paid full price, I would return it.

I bought this backpack fo use for multiple purposes. I unfortunately didn’t receive it in time to use on my most recent trip, but I’m currently using it to replace my old bulky diaper bag. My child is older now so this is much more practical than an actual diaper bag.

Eventually I plan on using this for work, as it has enough room to carry a laptop, some binders and a lunch sack. The only thing I wish it has is a side pocket for a water bottle. The quality seems on par with other jansport backpacks, and I’m loving the single color on the label which matches the color of the backpack material.

The minimalist style of backpack is perfect for those who want something simple.

Don’t listen to the good reviews they were probably paid to say that. I bought this bookbag for my daughter because she needed it for school. First of all, when it first arrived it was shoved and bent into a little tiny plastic bag that doesn’t even seem like it could fit a bookbag in! Second of all, it’s way too small.

As I said, I bought it and expected her to be able to put school supplies in it. I was completely wrong. None of her school supplies even fit in there because it how small it is. Do not buy from this seller if you’re looking to use it for school.

FAKES, be careful. I purchased a Jabra Elite 85t headset from Beili and it was a fake. I confirmed it with Jabra. When pairing it should flash blue, it flashed alternating red and green. The Jabra app doesn’t see it and there is no serial number on the inside of the case lid.

It also sounds like you are speaking through a wet sock to anyone you call on it. They are completely worthless. If they sell that FAKE I would guess the don’t have the integrity to sell a real one.

This bag started falling apart within weeks of getting it. My child barely carries anything in their bag, yet the straps ripped, and the zipper broke. Imagine my surprise when I send it to Jansport, for repairs, to find out this is not a genuine Jansport product.

Now I’m out the cost of the bag, the shipping for repairs, and no purple backpack for my child. So disappointing!.
