Some of the more commonly used items for the artificer class include the Thermal Prism, the Lightning Rod, the Static Discharger, and the Overcharger. These items all provide different benefits and drawbacks that can be used to help the artificer class survive and thrive in the hostile world of Risk of Rain 2.
Fight for survival in Risk of Rain 2 for Nintendo Switch. The fast-paced shooter gameplay provides hours of challenging fun, and the randomly generated levels and enemies offer a dynamic and unpredictable experience.
Risk of Rain 2 lets you cooperate with up to four friends and fight for your lives in local and online multiplayer.
I had purchased the Nintendo switch version. I cant survive morr then 1 minute after i leave the capsule! There no reason why it has to be this extremely difficult to play! Tell me why hame makers? Do you not cater to the people that have trouble with extrem difficultness ? Do you really care? Or is it all about “money” ?.
My son is loving this game and even my husband has started playing it. They both like that it’s something different than what they are used to and that you start from the same place every time you start a game so they have to try and advance as far as they can before dying.
They also like that you get both the first and second game with this purchase!.
This is a fun bundle of roguelikes that span both 2D and 3D. It’s mysterious at first but easy to learn after a few tries. There’s humor and charm to the game reflected in items and entries. The different characters you can unlock offer a variety that can build skill and teach perspective.
Classic reproduction of Risk as it was in 1959. Make the “right moves” and you’ll conquer the world. Ages 8 and Up. 2-6 Players. Oversized bi-fold game board with original style art. 6 sets of beautiful wooden “army” pieces conveniently stored in clear plastic boxes with lids.
Deck of area cards with original style art. High quality dice. Rules book featuring a History of Risk.
The cards could be a little more durable, but the rest of it is perfect. The best part is the little wood block armies instead of the plastic crap in the current versions. Even the lozenge shaped armies are wood! I actually prefer the cardboard army holders over the plastic bins, they always seemed to break and I keep the armies in sealable baggies anyway.
Outer packaging is well printed and sturdy, the cardboard insert that holds the army containers, dice and cards is a little lightweight. The map is well printed and heavyweight. Can’t say enough good things about this edition.
Worth the few extra sheckels for the wood game pieces!.
No plastic boxes for the game pieces. Otherwise pretty close to the original. Bought one for a gift for $28. 77 in December 2019. Tried to buy another in March 2020. Then all the third party crooks moved in and jacked the prices up to ridiculous amounts.
I wish Home Essentials Direct would quite with the third party sellers or at least open their own auction site so you know youre going to get robbed!.
I received this set as a Christmas gift, and am very happy with the gameplay. Although I’m not of age to recall what RISK looked like when it was first introduced, this set endeavors to re-create the original look and feel of the board game.
The construction is fine, the board, cards, dice and game pieces all feel respectable. We weren’t enamored with the wooden armies, as it can be a little cumbersome moving giant piles of wooden pieces through small countries in Europe, etc.
I suppose this is the retro experience though, and fans of RISK will delight in this experience– and any excuse to play the game, really. Con: the tiny cardboard containers and flimsy zip-loc bags provided to hold the armies aren’t very substantial.
My 1980s set had the best small plastic containers (with lids!) to keep things organized.
【Upgraded frame】The upgraded Cloud up 2 tent adopts a double Y-shaped structure and is matched with YUNAN’s 7001 aluminum alloy tent pole. The design of the wind rope fixed in the middle improves the stability and wind resistance of the tent.
【Upgraded Ventilation】The upgraded Cloud up 2 is designed with ventilation windows and B3 mesh, which can increase air circulation and reduce condensation. 【Space Design】The front-opening tent door improves space utilization.
It can be used to place backpacks, sleeping bags and other items to expand the activity space. 【Waterproof】The outer tent is made of 10D nylon silicone material, plus a waterproof coating, and multiple waterproof glues are used in the corners to increase wear resistance, reduce the risk of water leakage, and meet the needs of rain and moisture protection when camping.
【Lightweight】The double tent is only 1. 07kg/2. 36lb. A great choice for lightweight fans. There are a variety of colors and materials to meet the various needs of different groups of people.
5 Stars for my overall experience so far based on value for money. I’ve used this tent from campsite to mountain, and in varying temperatures amp; weather patterns. One needs to be aware of cold ground causing moisture against a warm mattress, but this happens with most tents in this range.
Likewise with water condensing through from fly to inner if touched. not an issue if the flysheet is pitched correctly (tighten guy-lines before bed). This is one of the few tents that allows one to pitch fly-first in poor weather, which is a huge plus.
That said, if you’re planning on using the fly only, I would suggest getting the version with snow valances/flaps/skirt, as this will prevent rain or mud from splashing up under the flysheet. One person with gear.
Overall I am happy with this purchase! Here are a couple of things that I learnt about the tent while hiking in cooler temperatures with rain and wind. Pros – easy to put up and take down, lightweight, quick drying, non-bendable pegs, cozy, sturdy in rain and wind, comes with extra ropes, comes with useful groundsheet and compression strap to hold everything together.
Cons – big enough for 2 people but not quite big enough for 2 people and all their things (large hiking backpacks + other hiking items – especially if it’s raining outside and everything needs to be in the tent), vestibule (protected space just outside tent) is a bit small, again only an issue if outside weather isn’t ideal.
I recommend this tent, and I will not replace it because it suits my needs and the weather that I hike in. To improve the experience in general, I’ll get a lightweight groundsheet or rain-cover for empty backpacks that I want to keep outside.
BEST TENT EVER!! I attempted the highest peak in SA in March, a 4 day climb up the Drakensberg WITH TENTS! The CLOUD UP 2 ULTRALIGHT proved to be both the smartest as well as easiest choice. Being super-light accommodated my shoulder and knee which were rehabilitating after a motor cycle accident.
and some corrective surgery. I hardly felt the weight and the packed-up/folded-up size is so convenient – it just slips into your bag. The best part of this tent is that it goes up in a flash with all interlocking and connected support poles so even though it rained from Day 2 to Day 4 assembling and taking down was under 10 minutes.
It stormed. The wind blew but I remained DRY and warm. ***** 5-star rating for sure!!!.

You can not beat a classic board game, sure theres new games made every year but you will probably never revisit them like a classic one. Risk is one of a few that will surely engage all ages of the family (who are above 6 years old) and once your child has grown up they would still enjoy this game.
I was brought up with this being one of my familys games and now Ive moved out I had to get the identical one for myself, the premise of this is simple and easy to learn but like chess if you have a member strategically inclined your games will be that much harder and enjoyable.
After a while I found my family trying diplomacy to ally themselves against my conquest unfortunately for them they still failed because alliances tend to conflict with each players missions.
Versions differ in design of parts from simple blocks of different shapes to these moulded cavalry/etc but the game is still pretty much the same. There are versions with different instructions giving different ways of playing but for VFM I just wanted to relive my youth.
There are some fantastic versions available in USA and very low prices BUT shipping and customs make that prohibitive!.
So much fun!!! One of the longest board games I’ve played but you’ll be entertained the whole time. It is a strategic game so you have to plan your moves but winning really depends on the number you roll.
Used to play this with my brothers when we were younger. Now I play with my son. The more people playing, the better.

Try your hand at creating your very own uniquely painted figures, or just take this remarkable chance to discover all of your favourite characters and creatures in a new light with these new Unpainted Miniatures!.
I was long discouraged by one of the previous reviews, which says this is “medium size creature with a large base”. Mainly, because ‘large’ or ‘medium’ are categories that can include a whole lot of different sized creatures, and I was afraid this minotaur will come too small.
But I decided to give this miniature a try, and was not disappointed. Firstly, I am going to use this miniature in various D&D games. In 5e, the listed height of a minotaur is 6-7 feet, a bit higher than a human.
Monster Manual gives ‘large’ as a size for NPC minotaur, while both Guildmaster’s Guide to Ravnica and Mystic Odysseys of Theros gives us ‘medium’ as the size for PC minotaurs, likely for balance issues.
In 4e, NPC minotaurs were predominantly medium, some of NPC ones were large. PC ones, again, were medium. As you can see by the picture, this minotaur is definately bigger than average human, and would be actually even higher without the dynamic pose.
I’ve decided to glue it on a 32mm base, so both miniatures on a photo are standing on top of such bases, to provide better perspective. It sticks out of base boundaries a bit, but this way, it will be still possible to pass as a PC medium minotaur and (almost) fit into one square, or actually be planted on a larger 50mm base that is included (left one on the photo), and represent the NPC minotaur of large size.
So I would not call the miniature a disappointment. To me, it is actually of a dual purpose – the size of the miniature itself is quite sufficient, and makes it possible to represent both D&D size categories using just diffrent-sized bases.
I love this mini and can’t wait to paint it. The quality of the mini itself is superb. My beef is with Home Essentials Direct Marketplace. The item listing stated “”Damaged box. “” I take damaged box to mean a damaged but unopened item.
I understand that many consumers will return a damaged but unopened item believing a damage box means damaged goods. I am willing to accept minor damage to an item if the listing states “”damaged box.
“” However, I do expect damage to be minimal at worst and that all pieces of the item will be present. The box was so badly torn it was clear the item has been opened and was in fact an open box item.
That’s a horse of a different color; if I buy something listed as open box I know I am taking the chance of moderate damage and missing piece. I would not have paid what I did for open box on an item like this.
Thankfully there was no damage to the item I could find, and all parts are present except the insert that came with the item (I have seen unboxing videos of the pre-painted version and know what was supposed to be in there).
Please list items correctly to be fair to potential consumers and ensure they are paying a fair price. For the risk I took in buying this, I actually overpaid.
The Barbarian with the bear cape has a huge problem with the mould lines. The one others talk about goes across the face, which I honestly thought was supposed to be a helmet with visor, the sort the Norse wore back in the day.
So that one I could hide away by painting what are esentially his eyes and brows as metal. While this is a relatively easy “fix”, I know my preference for helmeted characters is not the norm, which makes this a huge glaring issue on the model.
His hand, however, is completely off center. Not even mould line, it looks like a poor glue job that results in a disconnected left hand. The bare headed model (not the bear-headed one) has a few extremely obvious gaps but nothing as glaring as a head cut in two.
Reason I’m still giving it 3 stars is mostly because this model is almost mind boggingly cheap for the quality. With the exception of the mould lines the details are crisp and clean, things such as belt buckles standing out from what is around it.
Oathmark: Goblin Infantry The Gobbos are here! Plastic 28mm sized Goblin Infantry, designed to be used in the forthcoming game from Osprey Games, Oathmark. This box set contains enough parts for you to build 30 Goblin Infantry.
Provided with enough weapon options to make them all spearmen, all hand weapon and shield, all archers or any combination of the three. Each frame also contains a standard bearer and officer option. So you could have a giant unit of 30 Goblin soldiers with an officer and standard bearer, or six units of 5 Goblins with mixed weapons and a standard/ officer each! The figures are supplied unpainted and in kit form.
You will need plastic cement to stick them together. The flag and shield designs are not supplied in the box. You can either create your own or buy the ones illustrated from North Star.
Great little goblins for D&D and war gaming. They are more Tolkien than Warhammer cartoony and should work well along side the older Warlord/Wargames Factory orcs that I own. The set also allows one to build a Frostgrave warband right out of the box, you can even make a goblin wizard using the banner bits.
Was described as external/cosmetic packaging damage only. Looks like the box got jammed causing every sheet of parts to be damaged. Results in 3/5 of the standard bearers to be unusable. Luckily there’s alternate options available in the kit itself, hence the extra star.
MCR Safety’s Luminator Series offers you a variety of high visibility garments made in different colors and different options of reflective material. The 5182S is a fluorescent lime/black 2 pc suit made up of a jacket with attached hood and elastic waist pants.
It features 2 inch silver reflective stripes and meets or exceeds ANSI/ISEA Class 3 high visibility standards. The jacket has a zipper front with storm flap, 2 front patch pockets, and elastic inner cuffs in the sleeves.
The pants feature a drawstring elastic waist and have expandable ankle gussets. This garment is treated to be limited flammability.
Grim Grimoire is the tale of a young magician named Lillet Blan. After getting into a prestigious magic school, Blan wakes up on the fifth day to find all the other students and faculty have disappeared.
Blan realizes she is continuously living out her first day of school and must use her memories to solve the mystery and locate all the missing people.
I bought Grimgrimoire due to I am trying to collect the Vanillaware series. Not to mention this is a great game. The GrimGrimoire game works perfectly, though the box is slightly damaged (not that I care since all it matters to me is the game).
But the Manual is in perfect condition and Disk has very few scratch marks on the back. Which is very excellent! Though the disk does have a problem of when lag appears, all sounds stops. I am not sure if it is a glitch, a problem in the disk, my PS2 cords, or the cut back about the game.
But it rarely does that and won’t interfere with gameplay/nor does it freeze. I am only giving this good due to the box and the minor issue with the sound problem.
Grimgrimoire is a great looking game, with a mediocre combat system. As far as the graphics are concerned, it’s one of the most beautiful ever on the Playstation 2. Especially for this game being 2D, something not quite as common as once was.
The characters are absolutely stunning, and intelligent. With what seems like a somewhat compelling storyline. But moving on to the combat. This is somewhat lacking as far as I am concerned. The combat menus are somewhat confusing.
Even for someone who is familiar with RTS games, and definitley with RPGs. Making the characters were easier to control than I would have rated this game with a higher score. The main reason I bought this game was the visuals and the publisher, NIS America.
As being know for their selection of odd games from Japan.
This game is certainly for the anime/harry potter/real time strategy fan but definently worth trying even if you aren’t for the gorgeous artwork and a cool story. This game will deffinently be a classic and shouldn’t be missed.
It is completely voiced and if you are like me you like your anime in japanese since theres something to be appreciated for the sincerity of tone in the way japanese actors express things both exagerated and subtle.
You can also hear it in english which is also well acted. The game really takes it’s time teaching you all you need to know at the begining. All in all I’m very happy with the game and hope we see more like it in years to come.

A “real test” review; I just recently returned from 5 week hunting marathon which included a Yukon backpack sheep hunt that was 16 days in total length. I used the Furloh Airalite gear and spared it no sympathy….
It functioned for everything from rain gear to ground mats. There is no better gear on the market. As hunters from North America, it’s time we take responsibility for where our gear is sourced. We have an OUTSTANDING manufacturer here on our home soil.
Read the tags before you buy. Scarce few can proudly make this claim.
I was pretty skeptical about spending this much on a rain jacket, but believe me that once I received it, I had no regrets at all. This thing is built tough! It should easily last for years. It’s different when you’re looking at it on the website to when you actually see it in person.
You can see up close how well it’s made! I never saw this type of zipper construction on any other raincoat. It’s truly amazing! lol. I like how the sleeves are made too. I only wish it had inside pockets as well.
The outside pockets are nice and deep though. Perfect light rain jacket!.
Everything I wanted in a rain layer. Weighed in at 17. 6 oz with pit vents, hood draw and bonus RECCO tech will make this perfect for my upcoming high country trip. Will update after. Note on customer service: top freaking notch.
I accidentally ordered the wrong product and they shipped me out the right one quickly and at no cost. Then. I realized the original product was actually what I wanted and they sent it out again (I paid shipping as it was my bad) with lighting quick response time.
Brandon Witt was basically my one on one service concierge and I have nothing but confidence that I can make a ton of future Forloh buys without a shred of worry. Thanks again!.
Features: The Kalin’s Triple Threat Grub is a small 2 inch soft plastic curly tail grub. Great for panfish, walleye, and small inshore saltwater species. Range of color combinations that are hard to find in other baits.
World Record black crappie (5 pounds 7. 86 ounces) was caught on the John Deere Green color in 2018. Available in over 30 colors in packs of 10 or bulk packs of 50. The Kalin’s Triple Threat Grub is a small 2 inch soft plastic curly tail grub.
The size and wide color selection means they cover almost any small species application, from smallmouth bass to bream. The Triple Threat is offered a range of color combinations that are hard to find in other baits.
Overall, these grubs are excellent for crappie, walleye, and small inshore saltwater gamefish. In fact, the World Record black crappie, which weighed in at 5 pounds 7. 68 ounces, was caught with a Triple Threat Grub in John Deere Green in a Tennessee farm pond in 2018.
Available in over 30 colors in packs of 10 or bulk packs of 50.
I’ve used Kalin’s triple threat grubs for about 8 years, they’re top shelf on my home lake. I primarily fish for crappie but these lures have caught most of the species of fish in this lake. I couldn’t believe the selection of Kalin’s at discount tackle and the price is well below where I had to buy them before, so I really stocked up for the fall fishing season.
Their catalogue was real easy to use so I told a lot of my friends who fish like I do, of my experience with discount tackle so they will buy their own and not always borrowing mine when I’m catching 3 to their 1 fish.
This is a pretty good grub most of the time. What I like about Kalins is that they have the thinnest tails ‘ve ever used which makes them have amazing action at very low speeds. Its easy to find stuff to move/wiggle/squirm at high speeds but much more difficult when you wanna slow roll them.
Usually when the bite is hard is when you need that slow undulating action the most! These grub do pretty well in that sense, I like their bigger ones better, the action isnt as great in the small sizes.
A better small grub would be BPS’s own triple ripple grubs, the tails on those create far more action. I gave this 4 stars because one of the packs I bought in the motor oil color were not created properly.
Each and every one of them had the seam created lopsided on the grub instead of directly on top/bottom. that made all the grubs from that pack move a little weird because the seem wasnt lined up with the tail.

In Risk Godstorm the players are priests looking to lead their race (Greek, Celtic, Babylonian, Norse, and Egyptian) to dominate the ancient world and the Underworld as well. To do this they will need to marshall their forces, dominate continents, acquire relics of power and call their Gods to earth.
Risk Godstorm uses the basic combat elements of classic Risk but alters many other elements. The game is played on an ancient map of the world that focuses on Europe and Northern Africa. Atlantis is also present and highly desirable however a chaotic event can see the fabled city sink into oblivion, taking all the forces present there with it.
At its core the players are trying to control territories and controlling entire continents earns the players bonus units to deploy and further their cause. One of the key differences to classic Risk is that the Underworld can be invaded and defeated units can also be sent to the Underworld to fight again, with some proving themselves worthy enough to return to the Earth.
As in the play of Risk 2210 A. D. , Risk Godstorm is played over 5 rounds (called Epochs here). At the end of that time frame the player with the most Victory Points is declared the winner. Victory Points are earned for the number of territories controlled + region bonuses + control of crypts and altars in the Underworld and for every relic that offers a territory bonus if that territory is controlled.
Also like Risk 2210 A. D. , the game begins with a number of territories out of play. Here they are called Plague Lands. Risk Godstorm also allows players to play Classic Risk using the Risk Godstorm board for an alternate experience.
Product was in really good shape didnt look like it had been used much dice where easily replaced wouldnt of taped side of box to keep closed during shipment but didnt buy as a collector item so didnt care but some may of.
Too many pieces to even fit on a table. Too complicated. Instructions are not comprehensive. One had to “Google” to find more cohesive instructions. This game could have been thought out better and more user friendly for hours of enjoyment.
Windproof. Welded seams. Reflective print on one sleeve. Functional pockets. Reflective print on one ankle. Removable and adjustable foot straps. Machine wash at 30°C. Do not bleach. Do not tumble dry.

The Rainbird is our best-selling lightweight waterproof jacket. Waterproof with a 10,000mm Hydrostatic Head waterproof rating, it features a waterproof zip, taped seams throughout and its 100% recycled (GRS certified) polyester fabric is finished with an FC-Free coating.
With a little stretch and a microporous breathable membrane it’s the perfect active waterproof for your adventures, wherever they take you.
I absolutely love the green credentials of this jacket and I totally love the colour, it’s right up my street! It’s so light weight and packable and almost everything I was looking for in a light rain jacket for warmer weather.
I used it for the first time today on a pretty rainy September day and it did a fairly good job of keeping me dry. My walk home takes about 30 minutes and it was moderately heavy rain and the rainbird did keep out most of the rain however anywhere that my backpack was touching the jacket the rain seeped right through.
I am disappointed with this, maybe I overestimated the waterproofing of such a light jacket but I hoped it would stay dryer than that. Not sure if the jacket is defective or if I just had my hopes up too high? Overall though I do really like the rainbird.
Overall I’m very pleased with my jacket, its longer than i expected (though i am a shortie) which is good for me. It’s also very lightweight, another plus and the design is basically very good but for a couple of issues.
The hood needs a cinch cord or some kind of adjustment at the back to stop the hood falling over ones eyes. I have tried adjusting the front pull downs, but this doesn’t work for me, the hood being too deep.
I’ll maybe have to wear a hat underneath, which is not always necessary. The other area which needs addressing, is that the front storm flap always gets caught up in zip! Despite these two issues, i decided to keep the jacket as it suited my purpose for a light waterproof jacket.
Hope this feedback helps to improve a really nice jacket.
I was trying to find a replacement waterproof for my current jacket that has stopped keeping out the rain (not a Finisterre!). My current jacket has proved a bit ‘sweaty’ so I really wanted a waterproof *and* breathable jacket, I’m beginning to think it doesn’t exist, sadly.
I waited until I had worn it in heavy rain, to check how waterproof it is and it was definitely tested in last night’s storm! It passed the waterproof test with flying colours. I like how soft the fabric is, with details such as fleece on the inside of the zip where it might touch your face.
The fabric also has a slight stretch, which makes it good for moving in. I used the guide to find my size but feel I should have gone slightly smaller, as it’s quite loose on me (the sleeves are long too, but I always have this problem!).
I also find the zip a bit stiff, as mentioned in other reviews. All-in-all a good, light jacket (that packs up small when not in use) that could be layered in colder weather. I wish it was more breathable though and that it was cut more into the waist, to be a bit more flattering.
Nimes 3 Neon orange Rain while you’re on the motorcycle, it’s rarely a good time. And the Nimes 3 by IXS is just that. With a breathable mesh lining, it stays comfortable because it is breathable. One of the risks of rainwear is that you’re not only trying to keep water out, but at the same time locking moisture in.
This is not the case here. The solto-TEX coating – the waterproof membrane that returns everywhere at IXS – does what you would expect and the details illustrate that the Nimes 3 was made for bikers.
There are adjustment options at the waist and both sleeve ends got an elastic finish. Two waterproof pockets on the inside allow you to safely store the essentials and avoid water running out of your phone or wallet afterwards.
The fluorescent yellow material will make you more visible, but to be sure IXS uses reflective material as well. Of course: a motorcycle and rain, it’s a complex relationship. Anyone who has ever been caught in an April shower on the highway knows more or less how a sock in a washing machine must feel.
So there are no miracles, but you’re always better off with a decent piece of equipment made for bikers than without. The sizes of rainwear for the motorcycle correspond with the size chart of motorcycle jackets.
Not with the sizes of your body. If you wear a motorcycle jacket size L, you need a raincoat size L, not a roomier one.

Men’s Rains Jacket Liner – Blue – Casual jackets Paired with a Rains jacket or on its own, this jacket liner vest is the perfect addition to your cooler weather look. A patch pocket sits at the chest and the look comes complete with subtle Rains branding, located at the zip slider. Regular Fit / Poly-blend Composition / Tonal Stitching / Full Zip Closure / Curved Neckline / Patch Chest Pocket / Rains Branding.
I bought this for my husband and it fits perfectly! Design is simple just like I wanted and the quality is so nice. Light weighted and very essential in everyday life. I am more than happy with this purchase! :D.
I wish size indications were submitted to some sort of parametric modifications following the country from which orders are given. For instance, in this case, your “small/medium” turns out to be a definite “large” in French standards.
Vikings descendants are definitely few among us, I suppose.
Was smaller than the what the model size was as I am the same height, but was able to change it and the price had been halved. Great quality but also don’t expect it to last too long because of the material it can get caught very easily and rip easily.
Patagonia Women’s Torrentshell 3L Jacket Waterproof jacket (S, red/pink) – Howling wind and hammering rain? No problem at all! With the Women’s Torrentshell 3L jacket by Patagonia, you will stay wonderfully dry on tour even in the dreariest of weather.
The waterproof jacket comes with a shell made of recycled polyester fibre according to the H2No Performance Standard of Patagonia. This guarantees high-performance weather protection with maximum functionality and robustness.
The triple-layer fabric consisting of an outer material with a DWR finish, a high-performance membrane and a light lining comes with a hydrostatic head of a whopping 20,000 mm and is therefore absolutely waterproof, windproof and highly breathable.
The hood together with the collar encloses the head closely and can be adjusted as required. The sleeve cuffs can also be adjusted and everything that must not get wet can be packed into the two zipped front pockets.
The cut is slightly tailored, looks great and does not restrict. The Fair Trade and bluesign label also testify to sustainable production with fair trade raw materials. This is how it should be!.
I’ve been a huge fan of Patagonia since the 90s. The quality of their products is second to none, which is why I can justify paying the high price tag. When you buy Patagonia gear, you know that you will have it for many years.
I actually own two of these Torrentshell jackets, one in black and one in classic navy. No other rain jacket will keep you as dry as the Torrentshell. I have worn mine in the heaviest downpours and it has kept my entire upper body bone dry.
They are also great at blocking out the wind. We live in Maine and I’ve worn mine in Acadia National Park, where the ocean winds can be VERY strong. This jacket performed amazingly well in that environment.
I frequently wear it while walking/running with our four Golden Retrievers in the rain as well as on hikes. My husband also has two of these jackets (classic navy and metric orange) and he never stops raving about them.
If you are looking for a solid rain jacket that will keep you dry, looks great, and is of excellent quality, this should be your go-to. If you are new to the Patagonia brand and are hesitant because of the price, don’t be.
Patagonia offers a lifetime warranty and their products LAST. I mean, they REALLY last. This will be the only rain jacket that you’ll ever need. My mother still has the same Patagonia jacket that she bought 15 years ago and it’s still going strong!.
We’ve all been there. With more storm protection you get a jacket you just can’t hike in because it weighs so much and feels like you’re wearing seal skin. If you’re willing to compromise on storm protection for weight you also give up durability.
This jacket strikes that balance perfectly. The new lining bumping up to three layer protection from 2. 5 REALLY increases the durability without adding weight. Plus it still feels light and soft to the touch.
Other jackets at this price point just felt rubbery to me when shopping. After three hikes getting caught in storms (last one with a little freezing rain!), I was VERY happy with this purchase. However, the best part of this jacket far and away is the hood.
It’s the absolute best on any jacket in this price range. It’s frames your face perfectly while still giving you a good brim to keep the rain out of your eyes. And the the adjustment pulls are great.
I like that they’re positioned below your neck at the top of your clavicle so you’re not having to reach under the hood and under your chin to find them. And they’re self adjusting, but stay put. It is the most comfortable hood on a rain jacket I have ever owned.
I thought I’d address a couple of criticisms I saw in other reviews. First, the “crinkly” sound. That REALLY gets better with use. That’s a hallmark of high end outdoors gear; you can’t judge it right off the rack.
It’s designed to be broken in a little bit. Most highly durable products are like that and Patagonia is no exception. The fit. There have been criticisms that this is “only made for skinny people;” that’s not true.
Yes, it is not fun to feel like something is tighter around your midsection than you would like when you’re carrying a little extra weight, but that’s what you want in a rain jacket. If a rain jacket is too loose around your middle, all you’re doing is creating extra space for water to pool and sneak in.
Plus it will bunch on your low back. That makes it much more uncomfortable with a pack and you’re just creating more space inside for humid air to get in and soak the inside of your jacket. The fit is absolutely perfect on this jacket, it’s not too small and that’s good! I absolutely love this jacket!.
I purchased this jacket to serve as a lightweight weather-proof shell for multiple activities/multiple season use. This is my first Torrentshell, so I can’t compare it to previous versions, however I have had numerous rain shells by other manufacturers.
This shell doesn’t have a ton of extra features, but it is very well designed and well constructed. The material is (so far) quite durable, though it is a bit noisy as you move. It certainly cuts the wind (I live in a very windy part of the Rocky Mountain west) and has so far done a great job as an outer layer in the snow.
I haven’t had it in a full rain situation yet. I have used it as a ski shell on warmer days (when it is colder, I use a heavier 3-layer Gore-Tex shell with a Primaloft mid-layer), used it fly fishing, and worn casually around town/to work.
So far it is very versatile, has enough room to layer under (but not too roomy for my build; I have broad shoulders and a little on the heavy side), and works very well. I do wish it had a single chest pocket in addition to the hand pockets, and that the pit zip openings were slightly longer (4 stars instead of 5).
But those were not deal breakers for me. I look forward to using it this summer hiking and fly fishing. So far I am very pleased with it!.
