20 Best Insoles For Very High Arches (2022 Updated)

I’ve had bad feet (and back) for years and have been suffering a lot lately. I finally decided that something had to be done. After doing a bit of research, I learned that people with flat feet need to consider an insole with arch support.

From my own experience, I’ve also learned that cotton socks and insoles with a rough surface are a problem in the making. With these things in mind, I thought that Dr. Scholl’s Heavy Duty Support insoles might be what I was looking for.

Upon receiving them, I looked them over and was impressed by the quality. I especially liked the smooth (low friction) top surface. The inserts installed without cutting in my size 13 shoes with no slippage whatsoever.

In walking around I felt immediate relief. I was initially concerned that the arch support might be uncomfortable, but that was not the case. FWIW, I took care of a squeaking problem by removing the inserts and sprinkling baby powder in the shoes and on the underside of the inserts.

This has proven to be one of my better purchases and I’m now a Dr. Scholl’s fan. Do yourself a favor and try them out.

I bought these to put inside flat boots for longer wear. You’re supposed to remove the shoe’s existing insole before putting these in, so that was my first mistake – the boots I wanted to use these for don’t have removable insoles.

Once I finally got these inside the boot, it took up so much space that my foot could barely squeeze in, and the boot was then too tight and uncomfortable to wear. I can’t return the product because in order to fit it into my boot, I had to trim the excess off the front.

Hoping maybe I’ll find another pair of shoes to put these in, but disappointed to be out $15. Make sure you’re putting these into shoes with removable insoles before buying.

First off about me…I have medium/high arches and under-pronate (supination). I need an orthotic with a deep heel cup and medium arch support. I’m also 5’6” and 156lbs. I wanted the knee pain ones but this is the closest they had in the store.

It may have felt better if I were heavier but I don’t think so. These cause me to supinate (walking on the outside of foot) more than the ones that came in my shoes. There’s very little padding in the ball of foot and toe area.

This made me feel like I was wearing a low heel dress shoe. Again that might not feel that way for people that are heavier but I don’t see how that could make that much difference with almost no padding on front.

They seemed to fit in my shoe okay, maybe a little wide at the arch but not too bad. They cut down easily with sharp scissors like the rest of them. Overall these won’t work for me. Thankfully Dr. Scholls had a money back guarantee and seem to be made well.

That’s the reason for the 3 stars vs 1. These may work for some people, just not me. Now to try again. This is the 8th pair of insoles/orthotics I’ve tried.

I buy several different insoles because I find the match between shoe/boot and insole is different. This one has really good arch support, and is a bit narrower than some so it does not need as much trimming.

It’s also a bit narrower in the heel area than the PowerStep Pinnacle Maxx, again that’s good for some shoes/boots. I’m happy with it as are my feet with significant plantar fasciitis.

These insoles are terrific. I was advised by a shoe specialist to compare these insoles with another pair to see how the insole fits my particular arch. That was very good advice as I found that these Form arch supports feel better on my feet than the other brand I had been using for years.

I use them in my running shoes and bought another pair for my walking shoes. They mold to your feet over time or you can heat them to mold them. Form apparently has several styles and these are the high profile style.

It is very sturdy and looks like it will last for years. I expect to use them in my hiking boots also as winter approaches and/or I go for a hike. This style takes up a lot of room in the shoe so it would probably not work well for a casual shoe or a smaller sized shoe.

I have ordered another pair that are called Ultra-Thin in order to use them in a new pair of sandals which need a bit of support and I hope they will work well with my shoes that don’t accommodate these blue Forms.

I highly recommend them. I have suffered with foot pain for years and these work really well and I no longer have foot pain after I run or walk several miles.

Works well with Altra sneakers. Heel cup helps with pronation, arch support is good for high arch but reasonable height, and front of insole is well padded.

I have plantar fasciitis. I have had it for around 1. 6 years. The only thing that has helped was by getting a shot. My last shot didn’t help. The pain in my heel was getting really bad again. I tried a couple different insoles.

They didn’t work. This insole from the The Insole Store has been awesome. All the heel pain disappeared from day 1. Unbelievable.

I love how my feet feel with these arches. I have a very high arch and these are the best I have found so far. I did not receive the 1st shipment as it was put in the wrong mailbox but delivered to the correct row of boxes.

I just ordered and received my 4th pair of your wonderful 10 Second 3810 Ultra Arch Support insoles. I will not wear my shoes without them. These insoles make my old shoes wearable. i highly recommend them for all types of shoes.

Most of my summer shoes and sandals don’t have proper arch support, and I decided to try this product. The gel support is really amazing and worked great for my sandals. However, the set I bought from Amazon was defective, apparently due to improper storage.

I was looking for an arch support for my roller skates, and these just don’t fit well in them, the sole is a lot smaller than the arch support silicone. I have yet to find a pair of shoes to use these in but im sure they do work well once you find the correct fit of shoes.

Maybe these are too big in general? They’re sitting in the box, I probably should have returned them.

I have had a severe case of plantar fasciitis for over a year. I usually walk 3 miles daily. I have had inserts from 2 different Podiatrists, a Chiropractor and from Dr Scholls. I also buy good tennis shoes.

I have done therapy and NOTHING has helped. I bought these inserts and after several weeks of wearing them, they are working! They did take a while to get used to. The arch area is higher, but possibly that’s what I needed.

I was in such pain everyday trying to figure out how I could relieve the pain. I was using arch heel pads and it was not doing the job. I couldn’t understand how a full foot pad that was thin could help me when my supposedly arch/heel pad was thicker and not doing the trick.

I’ve bought insoles before, but not orthopedic insoles. I work as a healthcare assistant and am portering during the lockdown, due to health issues. it’s a lot of walking and as a result, I have developed Plantar Veseitis.

This is one of the best gadgets I have spent money on. I love making soup and spiraling a couple zucchini in place of pasta noodles was done in nothing flat! It even looks creative for any dish. The blades are very sharp.

My favorite sneaker insert and its not even close! WAY better than those spongy inserts they sell. Nothing touches them for the tough tennis I play three times a week.

I will start this off by saying I did NOT use these in flats, but in low converse. I fully recommend this product with more than five stars allowed. I am awfully flat footed and shoes that already have arches in them – they just dont fit my style.

I’ve always been a converse, Osiris, Vans, etc etc type of girl — which none of which have good arch support. So I got these. I’ve tried other basic brands of arches for my feet and well – they either make my shoe feel weird, or my shoe too tight.

I love these arch supports. I use them a little differently however. I stick them to the bottom of my feet right at my arch because I always have trouble getting them in the right place in my shoes. I wash them after each use and they regain their stickiness.

Just remember to keep the plastic cover that comes with them so you can recover them when you put them away on days you’re not using them. I definitely recommend these.

I’ve been using special insoles from different companies in most of my shoes in order to get the right support for my high arched feet. So, I was very happy to receive Cascadia high arch cork insoles from Tread&Butter.

These insoles are well built with sturdy base made out of natural cork, soft layer of special cushioning, and thin silver covered top to keep odor under control. I used them in my everyday shoes for walking dogs and in my hiking boots for day trips.

It was a bit hard to fit it in due to lack of half sizes, so I made little trimming. Walking with Cascadia insoles felt little stiff only in the beginning but not as bad as with my other plastic ones.

Insoles provide great support for my high arches with enough cushioning. It didn’t feel hot, even though it’s summer time. Also, I didn’t notice any bad odor after many hours of walking. I haven’t used cork insoles in the past, so I hope they keep my feet happy longer than my other insoles.

Spenco Ground Control insoles are good for problem feet because you pick the size of the arch you want when you order: small (low), medium (normal) or large (high). I’m flat footed and I chose the medium large because it props up my arches just enough to be in a neutral position.

I like that the arch is semi-rigid vs totally flexible or totally rigid because it exercises the muscles of my feet enough to gain muscle but not so much that plantar fasciitis gets aggravated from hyper mobility.

I was in a custom (expensive) rigid arch support for many years that made my feet atrophy – they never moved basically. Never again if I can help it. This is a professional quality orthotic at a good price so I can replace them every year too.

And they have the standard Spenco metatarsal bump at the forefoot that supports the sesamoid bones. Lot of good orthotics out there. So far I like this one a lot.

An employee named Kim assisted me in the show department to find the perfect insoles for my shoes. I had ankle/foot/leg surgery and needed some insoles to help support the arch in my food. I tried several different ones.

I bought these at the recommendation of the company I previously bought my supports from. They discontinued the inner soles I used for the past 3 years. These, while a bit softer seem to help. I’ve noticed that since the arch isn’t as structured, I have a bit less pain I my feet at the end of the day.

I have been wearing orthotics for decades and have tried a variety of different brands. These are my favorites. I have a history of plantar fasciitis as well as a Morton’s neuroma. I no longer suffer from these issues as long as I wear the right shoes combined with proper arch support.

They offer good arch support along with a metatarsal pad, which I find essential. The cushiony feel doesn’t take away from the support either. I recommend these if you have sensitive feet like myself.

I have extremely bad fallen arches, I couldn’t be on my feet for more than an hour or two without crippling pain. I got these on my doctors recommendation, at first they were painful to wear I wore them for about 2 to three hours a day until my feet got used to being in the correct position.

Most comfortable orthotic I’ve worn as it does not irritate my toes like other full length orthotics I’ve tried. Biggest plus is that it has a solid arch which means it won’t flatten out over time. However, the heel cup is not as deep and arch support not quite high enough for those of us with pronated ankles.

Overall, this is one of my top two favorites and I highly recommend trying it.

The support is good, though not as firm as Finn Comfort, but I wasn’t looking for that. The surface is very smooth which allows your sock to slide rather than bunch up. And, the surface is leather which is absorbent and breathable.

Whenever I buy footwear other than Oboz brand I always replace the insole that comes with the shoes because they are of such poor quality. For hiking and backpacking, I prefer footwear with outer sole units that are relatively firm and provide a lot of support because they guard against foot fatigue over extended miles.

The trade off with firm sole units is plush comfort underfoot. I replace the inferior insoles of such footwear with the Athlete Insole because this particular insole is of superior quality foam and of increased thickness compared to the thin non cushioned insoles that come with most shoes.

The result of having the Athlete insole as the first point of contact under my feet is greatly improved comfort and resilient cushioning. It balances out the feeling of the firm outer sole unit. With this insole i get the best of both worlds plush underfoot comfort combined with a firm outer sole that provides the necessary support for hiking and back packing.

I have used the Athlete insoles now for many many months over miles of use. They don’t flatten out and maintain their cushioning properties much longer than the insoles that come with most shoes. Additionally as another reviewer of this insole posted the extra thickness of these insoles helps tune and potentially improve the fit of footwear.

For many people with low volume feet like mine, many shoes, even though they fit properly in length, there can be extra width or volume in the shoe that can result in undesirable relative movement between your foot and the shoe when hiking.

For me, the Athlete insole takes up some extra volume in the shoe, filling in the gaps between my foot and the boot resulting in a fit that feels much more customized and snug, great for guarding against blisters.

Shopping for an insole on line and trying to decide which insole is best for you is extremely difficult. It is hard to appreciate the quality of this insole without actually feeling it but I can vouch for the value of this insole.

For $22 it is worth the try and if it doesn’t work for you, the great thing about REI is that they will take them back even if they were used.

Walking with Planters Faciitis is difficult and does not go away without proper therapudic treatment. The Sof Sole Men’s Athlete Insoles make a significant difference in the restorative process. I can walk up to 1 mile versus 1/2 residential block, with reasonable comfort.

The Insole plays an important role in the recovery process, at a more than reasonable financial cost. The best performance is fitting the insole in well made lace-up, properly sized, tennis shoes. I used Adidas Traxion, which I believe is within the sporting type shoe category.

REI offers similar to better “walking shoe” equivalents to explore, which I will shortly evolve to using.

Threw these in a pair of Cascadias I assumed were dead based on two tiring 5 mile trail runs. Bummed since the upper and lugs still look great. Threw these in and boom! New shoes! Feel like factory and don’t move around.

Don’t spend more unless you have to for insoles.

I have Plantar Fasciitis which includes both arch and heel pain. I have tried a variety of inserts, and so far these are the best. They are certainly not perfect, and they don’t work in all shoes, but they helped my pain significantly.

I did find that they made my shoes tighter, and since they push your heel up a bit, some of my shoes felt like I was “flipping” out of the backs of them. So again, not perfect for everything. However, they provided enough cushion for my heel, and enough support for my arch, to alleviate most of my pain.

I do wear through them relatively fast, which is annoying, but it’s better than not being able to walk at all.

We get new work shoes every year at the manufacturing company I work for. Last year, I didnt get new shoes, they didnt have anything that I liked. Just recently I thought – my inserts are not giving me the support I need (I have been using this same brand for the last 4 years!!) I always put a date on the inserts when I put them into my work shoes.

The reason why I was not getting the support I normally get is because they were dated June 2019! These are the VERY BEST insoles!! I have recommended them to several of my co-workers and they love them.

These are a necessity for me when I wear certain shoes. I am a teacher, so I am on my feet most of the day. My feet and ankles would hurt so much at the end of the day that it would be difficult to stand in the kitchen and cook.

But these relieved my feet so much! They give me great support and they are super easy to size down and fit into my shoes. They aren’t expensive at all and they are really valuable to have.

This is the first product I have tried that has given me total relief of my foot discomfort symptoms. This insole has just the proper amount cushioning, arch support, heel support, and customization options to relieve my chronic foot/toe/arch pain/discomfort.

Dr. Scholl’s&® Pain Relief Orthotics for Lower Back Pain is a great product these orthotics provide great support, are very flexible and love that these are cut to fit. The support of these orthotics is color-coded, the yellow is the shock guard at the heal these make me feel a bounce in my step relieving any weight on my heel.

The heel also feels well cushioned that is not to soft or hard. This cushion is securely in place and feels rather flexible, the small inner holes look like little air bubbles looks very appealing and nice quality.

The green part of these orthotics is hard with a thin layer of flexible material on top. The hardness of the orthotics is great this helps with the arch in my foot and gives my arch great support. The blue thin layer is adjustable by cutting the orthotics to your size, I like this option because my sizes do change at times from 9 to 9 1/2.

The thin blue layer is very flexible and is very soft on top. This thin blue layer was very easy to cut and adjust in shoe. I really liked how the orthotics felt in my shoe I felt the arch support was fantastic on bottom and sides of foot and fit in shoe great with above and beyond comfort.

This orthotic looks very well made and all three parts blue, green and yellow are very securely together and pieces align great. I stand for long hours and are constantly walking daily, these orthotics make the tasks more enjoyable.

I like these are not to thick so these provide great breath-ability. I am less tired at the end of the day and feel in great spirits wearing these orthotics. I would definitely recommend these orthotics to others.

I had lateral foot pain for several years and no insert helped. This insert with the divot for the 1st metatarsal head relieved the pressure off my lateral foot and my pain resolved. So easy for my specific problem.

Husband has peripheral neuropathy and has to wear toe spacers. The inserts seem to work as intended, does not complain of foot pain any longer. Can’t believe we were so lucky; it was easy though pricey.

These really helped get me out of orthotics that my physical therapist determined were the source of my back issues. However, both pairs are literally falling apart after only 3 weeks of use. The top fabric is peeling off of the bottom section of the insole.

I’m shocked at the very poor construction and am disappointed because they feel terrific and have helped me immensely. The construction is simply awful and I want a replacement as the 1st 2 pairs are not even in my shoes for 3 weeks and they’re literally falling apart.

For me and my spouse, these are excellent. The Sorbothane graphite insert gives all my ” Cute” suede winter boots the arch support they did not have. They do have to be wide enough to handle the insert.

Same for my spring trail boots, urban engineer boots, and summer yard sneakers. I can walk for hours using these without issue.

I bought these and thought that it would help. I have high arches. I work in the factory on concrete. So this did help with my feet. My only con is how much they cost. Yes I know, if I was to go to the foot doctor.

To get orthotics, it’ll probably be three times as much. I didn’t find personally that they lasted very long before they cracked.

I bought these for my planter fasciitis that I have on my right foot. I’ve had these about 3 weeks now. I did notice my foot is a lot better after my 10 hour day. Before my foot would hurt into my 7th hour.

Which was hard to deal with working still. Now it’s about 9 hours or even not until I get home & take my shoes off. These have helped my feet tremendously. I have no more burning sensation in my foot or excruciating heel pain even after a long day at work.
