20 Best Hydrating Moisturizer For Dry Skin (2022 Updated)
Hydrating moisturizer for dry skin is a type of moisturizer that is specifically designed to hydrate dry skin. Dry skin is often caused by a lack of moisture in the skin, so hydrating moisturizers are formulated to help replenish the skin’s moisture levels.

Reviews From Real Customers
Neutrogena has always made some of the best and affordable skin care products! But this one right here is in my opinion one of the best formulated moisturizers out in the market, PERIODD! The entire Hydro Line from neutrogena has some of the most amazing products but this one in particular just hits different.
After 1 use of this product I felt seen the amazing benefits this gel cream has to offer. It actually made me excited to apply my tedious skin care routine. But knowing I just added this gel cream to my day regimen sparked joy I couldn’t get to my bathroom sink fast enough.
Since using this moisturizer especially before make up application my skin has a natural glow within. I also have combo -oily skin and this product definitely helps with that. Bonus another reason I needed to try was of course the hyaluronic acid in this formula.
Since using religiously my skin has a noticeable difference of brightness hydration. Theres a very light and undetectable sent to it but the scent to this cream smells clean gets me excited every use.
Honestly I only tried this product because of all the hype I seen on it. Was questioning if this was actually a cult classic but after using and falling in love I totally agree! If anything this product is a #CLASSIC in general! FYI if you suffer from dry and sensitive skin, Neutrogena also has Hydro Boost Gel-Cream – Extra Dry fragrance free available! Don’t sleep on this Whole entire line period!! 🙌🠾✨😠😩💦💧🌊.
It is a light and oil-free facial cream. Hydrates skin with powerful hydrating ingredients, but no greasy residue. Contains hyaluronic acid (a powerful moisturizer that’s holds up to 1,000 times its weight in water, keeping skin puffy and hydrated); dimethicone and glycerin (maintain the skin’s moisture barrier so water doesn’t evaporate faster than it can be reabsorbed).
It has a pleasantly aquatic scent and its instantly absorbed. Gel formulas have quickly earned a reputation as the perfect moisturizer for people who don’t like moisturizer; people with oil skins are fans because gels don’t feel greasy.
But this one is also great for sensitive and dry skin. It can be applied several times a day without looking like the product is building and clogging the pores. And while it leaves skin fully hydrated, it also dries to a slightly dewy finish, making it ideal for use under makeup.
I’ve been asked what highlighter I’m wearing and I don’t really wear highlighter, it’s JUST THIS PRODUCT. It makes me look truly radiant.
I bought this after doing a lot of research and reading reviews from different sources and personally think this product is not as good as its marketing says. I try to take good care of my skin, and was looking for a lightweight moisturizer to switch to.
I bought this and the first thing I noticed was the smell of cheap cosmetic stuff. That typical smell found in pretty much any regular creams or lotions you get at the supermarket. Regardless, I decided to try it out: texture is quite nice, and it absorbs rapidly into your skin.
But I have been using this for about 5 days and got 4 massive pimples, plus my skin still feels dry. I have never experienced a reaction like this with any other product, and I just stopped using it.
I do not know whether it is the same formulation (this one is made in Brazil) but I definitely do not recommend using it. Plus, for the price paid, I could have bought a much better quality moisturizer.

Reviews From Real Customers
I have ultra sensitive, reactive and acne prone skin with occasional eczema flare ups and I learned the hard way that, contrary to FAB’s claims, this moisturizer is not meant for skin like mine. I bought it a few years ago and almost immediately after applying it for the first time, I felt a tingling, then burning sensation, across almost my entire face; my skin then flushed red and felt warm to the touch.
A few painful minutes later, I had to wash my face and apply my regular moisturizer because the reaction didn’t fade. I tried it again a few days later but experienced the same thing. I even bought this again a few months ago, thinking I must have done something wrong because so many people love it, but no; I had the same reaction this time as well.
Because I’ve had very sensitive skin almost all my life, I know which ingredients to avoid based on past reactions but I blame myself for accepting the brand’s claims and not checking the ingredients list carefully.
Had I done so, I wouldn’t have purchased this all as this contains eucalyptus oil, a fragrant essential oil that serves no purpose other than to cause irritation. While not everyone will react to essential oils, they’ve caused some of the worst reactions I’ve had and they don’t belong in products made specifically for those with sensitive skin.
Either FAB needs to stop claiming this is a moisturizer that even the most sensitive, distressed and eczema prone skin can use OR remove the eucalyptus oil altogether. I personally don’t recommended this moisturizer at all but, for those that do want it, I suggest patch testing, at the very least.
I’m so glad I bought a tester/sample size. It has silicone in it, so it will pill- especially if you use any other products that have silicone. Even with the most simple routines, no actives and just a serum or an oil it pills.
A lot. Creates this gunk on your cheeks and jawline mixing with other ingredients in your routine. I keep it pretty ‘clean’ when it comes to my products and nothing else I use makes my face sticky, pill or any of that annoying stuff.
This product though? I rarely experience it not pilling or, worse, turning into sludge just after using a couple of my pricey products that I feel are almost wasted when I use this over them. Especially when you’re paying a dollar or more per ml, would rather go a superior brand with cleaner ingredients.
I just bought kiehls ultra because I’ve enjoyed that in the past. I bought this because I have dry, sensitive skin. I need lots of moisture. I’ve found it’s best to rely on more than just a moisturiser for the amount of moisture I need so I incorporate face oils – especially in cooler months – like rose hip, vitamin e oils and I’ve just bought face hero so will be back with a review on that.
I usually really struggle in winter but the face oils with a good moisturiser, regular hyaluronic acid use and not going overboard with actives is key for me.
After a long and very expensive search for the perfect moisturizer, I finally found it with this product! I put my skin through h*ll and back last year which resulted in an acne rosacea flare up, followed by a bad case of hormonal acne (which was the result of another issue in my life).
Saw a derm because I was miserable and she prescribed azelaic acid. So my routine has been Inkey List Salicyclic Acid cleanser, azelaic acid foam, and FAB Ultra Repair Cream! At the beginning the cleanser and AA really dried out my skin, but using this moisturizer really balanced everything out to where I can use them both AM & PM with no problem whatsoever.
Not to mentioned it really calms down any redness or sensitivity (from wearing uncomfortable masks all day). And if there’s ever a night where I feel I need to lock in some more hydration I’ll use the Elta MD intense moisturizer on top of this one (as recommended by my derm.
) So yeah, this moisturizer feels so perfect in my routine. In the AM though, I do have to wait for it to sink in and dry down before I apply sunscreen. It will pill if I apply sunscreen on directly after using the moisturizer.
(I use EltaMD UV Clear Tinted) I’ve also only ever used this during winter time, so I’m curious to see how it will perform during warmer months! For further reference, I have sensitive, combo skin and hormonal acne.
But honestly, this moisturizer has helped balance out my skin so much that it feels normal, no excessive oiliness or dryness anywhere.

Reviews From Real Customers
I am 54 years old and this has been a nice lotion to use on my face. I loved it even more when Clinique created the ID line to enhance the Dramatically different line. The moisturizing lotion is very hydrating but as I’ve gotten older and started developing some lines and wrinkles, it really doesn’t do much to firm the skin, but it does hydrate nicely.
I have tried Clinique’s serums and wrinkle correcting creams, but they are so harsh and strong on my face, so when they came out with the ID line for lines and wrinkles I was very happy to try it and pleasantly surprised how wonderful it worked.
It did not irritate my skin and I could visibly see a very noticeable reduction in the lines and wrinkles on my face. It was a total game changer and I just loved it! It gently firmed my skin without irritating it and I was absolutely devastated when I went to replenish my Dramatically Different lotion and ID product for lines and wrinkles, only to find out that the ID line has been discontinued!! So far two things that I love from Clinique that are gentle but truly work, have been discontinued just in the last few months.
Clinique also discontinued the Smart Night Custom Repair Cream which was very gentle on my skin. What are you doing Clinique? Why are you discontinuing products that actually work??? Please bring back the ID line for lines and wrinkles.
It is such a wonderful product that is gentle and works. Not everybody can use your new recently launched Smart Clinical line. I have used Clinique for over 25 years and I have always been happy to try your new products, but this new Smart line in the purple containers are way to harsh.
I am so disappointed that you discontinued the ID line for lines and wrinkles. Please consider bringing it back again.
I’ve been using this moisturizer for the past 30 years. I consider it more along the lines of a slightly richer “emulsion”, for those of you who are familiar with Japanese/Korean beauty routines. What is standout about this moisturizer is it’s absorption.
It doesn’t sit on top of your skin. I have dry, combination skin and I put it on after softener. It really does keep your skin moisturized and it’s very lightweight. You don’t need much and it’s fragrance free, and hypoallergenic-as I have sensitive skin and can react very badly to fragrance.
You need to let it set in and absorb for a couple of minutes, but afterwards it’s easy to apply sunscreen. I find many sunscreens drying to I always play this before. Also, it’s the perfect way to protect your skin when you’re training your face to accept retinol.
You moisturize with this then out the retinol afterwards and it really helps to help with redness and flaking while still getting the benefits of your retinoid. It’s also amazing for thinning out your foundation and getting it to absorb into your skin to look more like a no make-up make-up look.
I don’t find foundations moisturizing even when they say they are, and mixing it with the Clinique helps with that plus it gives you a very natural application. If you have a face powder and need a quick foundation, mixing this moisturizer with a bit of powder gives you a really nice moisturizing sheer cover.
It’s an amazing makeup remover, I’ve used it to take off my eye makeup when I’ve run out of remover, and I like it because it leaves the skin moist. So, I can’t say enough good things. It has stood the test of time for me and I use different and heavier moisturizers and creams but I always use this as an emulsion in my routine.
Years ago, when ever I went on a plane I always treated myself to the Clinique Moisturiser and loved it. So when QVC launched Clinique I was very excited. People always say how lovely my skin is for a 59 year old, I take the time to look after it with premium skincare and using advice from Alison Young, so to be honest I didn’t expect very much of a change.
I have put all my other skincare away, including my JW neck cream, I have restricted myself to the three step Clinique and my Liz Earle Drops and my Vit C serum and my JW nectar eye cream. I started using the system two days ago, morning and night adding the using drops and serum and eye cream and wow, my skin has improved, my neck is much smoother and when I wake up no lines on my chest.
My face skin hasn’t changed much, but does seem more luminous. So I have just ordered myself another set. This is definitely the skincare range for me. I know that people are saying that the Stage 2 is harsh, but believe me, I have dry, sensitive skin and my skin hasn’t had any reaction to it at all.
What a wonderful, quick and easy skin routine that makes your skin look wonderful. I am absolutely thrilled to have found something that has shocked my skin to another level and will continue to use this wonderful range.
Thank you QVC and Clinique for bringing this to me at an affordable price and on three easy pays to boot, I am one very happy customer.

Reviews From Real Customers
I received this product complimentary from First Aid Beauty to review and give my honest opinions. This ultra repair cream has a rich thick balm texture. It is emollient without being greasy or heavy.
It is suitable for all skin types but is designed to hydrate dry parched skin and is safe for sensitive skin. It is formulated with collodial oatmeal, shea butter, allantoin, ceramides and FAB’s antioxidant booster.
These ingredients work together to moisturise and soothe the skin. The tub says to apply from head to toe once or twice daily. I found that this was perfect for moisturising my body as it didn’t leave my body feeling sticky like some creams do.
It took some rubbing in to get rid of the white cast, but once it’s worked into the skin it absorbs quickly. I did feel a bit of tingling on my skin, which I assume is from the eucalyptus oil and I can smell a slight hint of it in the cream.
I was surprised to find that it also worked well for my face. It layered well on top of my serums and absorbed into my skin. My face felt nice and moisturised and this got rid of my dry patches. However, because of the slight tingling sensation, I stopped using this on my face because I have quite sensitive skin.
Therefore, this has become my designated body cream.

This product has quickly become a holy grail for me. I purchased my first, and went with the Limited Edition Gratitude Size (2. 5 fl oz) and within a week, knew I needed to buy a second! The packaging is very attractive periwinkle blue accented by pretty purple flowers with a gold product scoop and scoop holder on the cap.
When you take off the cap, there is a protective reusable plastic insert with a convenient tab for ease of removal. The cream itself is also a lovely shade of light blue. The scent is very herbal and pleasant.
This moisturizer is amazing for extremely dry skin like mine. Nutrient-rich Japanese Purple Rice provides antioxidants to help protect skin and restore balance. Okinawa Algae and hyaluronic acid help skin retain water to stay moisturized and nourished while replenishing the skins barrier, and a lovely blend of botanical extracts and oils help enhance and moisturize skin while providing a beautiful, dewy glow.
I have extremely dry skin, especially in the harsh mean winters. I have been searching high and low for a good face cream that doesn’t irritate my skin but truly provides deep nourishment and moisture.
The Tatcha Dewy Skin Cream checks all of those boxes and is also a certified clean and cruelty-free product. I am able to use this product in the morning by applying a light layer before putting on makeup, and it helps keep my skin and makeup from forming dry patches throughout the day.
At night, I apply a slightly thicker layer before bed, but a tiny bit goes a LONG way! The little scoop they provide allows you to pick up the perfect amount to cover face, neck, décolletage, and the back of the hands as well! The ONLY reason I have marked this four stars instead of five is because of the price: though I feel the Gratitude size is worth it, I feel that Tatcha products are over-priced in general.
Another point I would like to include is that this product is not for everyone because I know that the scents and some of the ingredients can be too harsh for some people, especially those with extremely sensitive skin.
Tatcha The Dewy Skin Cream Plumping Hydrating Moisturizer 25 Oz/ 75 Ml.
My skin feels so good and soft since using the Dewy Skin Cream Plumping & Hydrating Moisturizer. I have tried different moisturizers over the past couple years with never results like this as I would have irritation as the different lines would be either too rich, have properties that would cause breakouts or even worse dry my skin out even more.
My skin has changed in the past five years from oily combination screen to dry rosacea break outs and some fine lines. I tried the cleanser from this line with the combination of this moisturizer but found the cleanser stripped moisturizer from my skin so for me it was not a good combination.
My skin was just ok but didn’t feel great and felt dry. I really loved this moisturizer though and knew there must be a cleanser that is milder but yet soothing for my acne rosacea skin that would be complimentary with this moisturizer.
I lucked out as after experimenting using CeraVe SA cleanser and the Tatcha Dewy Skin Cream moisturizer found it was a winning combination. Must be the ceramides & salicylic acid in the cleanser that keeps the skin blemish free.
The Tatcha moisturizer works beautifully after I cleanse my skin as it gives the bonus moisturizing plumping properties. My husband complimented my skin and and that made me feel so good that it is noticeable.
I’m happy as my skin feels healthy and youthful again.
I’ve received this product as a trail size in the birthday sample kit. My skin is on the dry side. I’ve also been introducing retinal to my skin care regimen which adds on to the dryness. I’ve tried 3 different kinds of moisturizers (farmacy, laneige, drmtlgy) they was not hydrating enough.
I’ve also tried Clinique dramatically hydrating jelly and cerave which seems to help somewhat. With this cream being my last resort, I’ve tried it and it just soaked into my skin and my skin felt incredibility hydrating.
It has been months since my skin felt completely hydrated. It does leave a super dewy look. A little really does go a long way. I feel like too much can contribute to pore clogging which I haven’t experienced.
It looks well under my skin tint moisturizer but 1st allow this to settled into your skin before make up application. The reason why I removed a star is because I am not a fan of jar packing (although the packing is absolutely stunning), I do not like the the last 5 irritating ingredients at the bottom of list (listed on the packaging and tatcha website) which are: alcohol, fragrance, citral, limonene, and linalool.
Although these ingredients do not irritated my skin personally, but overtime with repeated usage, I do not know what kind of affects this will have on my skin. The fragrance is light and has a spa like smell.
It is not overpowering and it do not linger. However the facial wash is quite strong. I’ve purchased this full size and will continue to use until otherwise my skin dislikes it.

CeraVe Moisturizing Lotion – Normal to Dry Skin After washing my face tonight, I realized I didn’t have my moisturizer handy. A bottle of CeraVe was on the bathroom counter, and the following fabulous actives were in the ingredients! Ceramide 1, Ceramide 3, Ceramide 6 Ii , Phytosphingosine (also a ceramide) – there are nine different ceramides found in the skin naturally.
Essentially, they’re long chains of lipids and are necessary for their water-retention capacity. They both replenish and restore the skin. Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride – A common emollient that soothes the skin.
Derived of coconut oil and glycerin, it’s light-textured, clear, odourless, non-greasy. , and is well tolerated by all skin types. Cetearyl Alcohol – a fatty alcohol. Fatty alcohols, contrary to how they can sound, are fantastic emollients because of their long oil-soluble tails.
Cetyl Alcohol – another fatty alcohol, derived of palm or coconut oil. In addition to benefits noted above, this one acts as an emulsifier, allowing oil and water to blend. Cholesterol – a lipid that helps accelerate the skin barrier’s recovery and improves the appearance of skin elasticity.
Dimethicone – makes the skin silky smooth, creates a subtle gloss and forms an occlusive barrier. Also, works well to plump skin appearance and temporarily fill in fine lines. Glycerin – keeps the skin lipids between our skin cells healthy, protects against irritation, and helps to restore barrier.
Hyaluronic Acid – a sugar molecule that occurs naturally in the skin. It helps to bind water to collagen, trapping it in the skin, so that skin can appear plumper, dewier, and more hydrated. My skin barrier will be well-protected tonight! This probably won’t replace my normal moisturizer, but I’m happy I knew I was safe putting it on my skin.
I can’t give a company that animal tests 5/5 stars….
I have been enjoying CeraVE Daily Moisturizing Lotion for Normal to Dry Skin several years because the formula provides hydration to my face without ever clogging my pores. Although I wish CeraVe was cruelty-free, I find myself continually repurchasing many of their items because they work well with my skin.
I’m never left feeling greasy because this lotion has dimethicone. Dimethicone is a silicone-based ingredient that provides skin with a silky smooth texture, helps seal your natural moisture barrier, and fills in fine lines and wrinkles.
This instant blurring effect combined with a balanced level of moisture makes this lotion a perfect lotion for the face since you only need a little bit if you have more oily skin. I even use the cream formula of CeraVe in the tub that’s also meant for body, on my face and never have had any breakouts from these formulas.
When using this lotion, remember a little goes a long way, wash your hands before applying, and use it on your neck/chest area. This lotion is lightweight, water-based, has glycerin which will lock in moisture, has no fragrance which can avoid irritation, and has several different ceramides.
Ceramides help to restore your skin’s natural barrier. This lotion also contains Hyaluronic Acid which plumps up the skin and adds extra moisture. Although the packaging is not fancy, the lotion itself will never harm your skin and feels so silky without any greaseball faces! How many of you use this on your bodies? How many of you use this on your face? What about both??.
Newly diagnosed with contact dermatitis, primarily a sensitivity to ingredients in fragrance. The moisturizing, ceramides, and lack of fragrance and harsh additives makes this a life saver. When not in an active reaction, I use a more oily skin friendly moisturizer in the mornings, and this moisturizer at night; let the ceramides do their thing overnight after cleansing.
When I’m in a reaction and my skin is sensitive, itchy, bumpy, red, &/or peeling, this is my morning, night, and occasionally mid-day moisturizer. The application of CeraVe followed by Vaseline has saved my skin.
It not only keeps my skin moisturized so it can heal itself, rather than drying out and peeling to heal over several weeks like it does when using only allergy medications and my regular moisturizer, but the CeraVe alone (let alone in combination with Vaseline) seems to create a degree of barrier between my skin and irritants; I have very different reactions to being around certain household chemicals while using this moisturizer than prior.
+ No fragrance added and very little scent from the ingredients. Highly moisturizing, but it doesn’t make me break out like some very moisturizing products do. – If you are visibly oil prone, this may not be the daily/morning moisturizer for you, unless you have a good regimen to combat oil.

Reviews From Real Customers
I dug up this picture from 2019 and found several more that I had taken during that time because I recommended this moisturizer to my friends so much. From 2017 to 2019 I only ever used this moisturizer in my skincare routine, and I never regretted it.
It was cooling, soothing, absorbed fabulously, and never felt heavy on my skin, which was congested and dehydrated at the time. Since then my skin’s needs have changed and this gel doesn’t aid me in the way it did.
My preferred delivery method for hyaluronic acid is now The Ordinary’s Lactic Acid 10% + HA 2%. However, I still confidently recommend this gel to friends and family who could benefit from it, and most who’ve tried it have loved it so much that it is now part of their regular routine.
One extremely important thing to note is that any product with hyaluronic acid like this one needs to be applied while the skin is still wet, because the function of hyaluronic acid is to bind to existing water molecules and act as a humectant.
In general it’s better not to dry your skin before using any moisturizer in order to allow it to seal in the moisture. Those who dry their skin before moisturizing also tend to use a washcloth or towel to do so, and unless you literally deep clean these cloths right before each use, they will quickly and easily become breeding grounds for bacteria, and also collect dust and other particles that could irritate your skin or clog your pores.
It pays to understand product usage and your skin type. I have an over-all dryer complexion so I lotion my body daily and moisturize my face every 2-3 days. 1. The product tells the user to utilize AFTER HAVING CLEANSED YOUR FACE.
Not following these steps will result in clogged dirty pores and more acne. 2. You CAN use this product for targeted dry spots you just need to use less. This product, although appears to not contain a lot, goes a long way with just enough to cover your index finger.
You really don’t need a lot or else again, you’re caking your face and over-moisturizing it. This will also cause acne. Maybe if your skin is peeling on your face you may want to use a little extra but otherwise, very little is needed to cover your face.
3. You should not be exfoliating daily. Maybe once a week. If you exfoliate daily then use this product you will get acne. Plain and simple. You’re opening your pores, jamming moisture into them, and NOT expecting acne? Come on now.
Wash your face gently, exfoliate weekly. Moisturize every 2-3 days. Patience is key and you most likely won’t get immediate results from *any* product sold for $30. 4. Results. I could feel a difinitive difference almost immediately.
Product is in fact lightweight and I only needed a 1/4 of a dime size to cover my face. Again, a little goes a long way. Within a week and a half (because it’s not meant to be used daily unless you’ve got severe dryness), My face didn’t just FEEL healtheir it looked fuller, more hydrated and when I get my shark week is around the only time I’ll see a baby surprise zit on my face (this is normal, it’s called hormones silly).
I feel as though individual’s expectations are so high. I assure you that you’ll never find “the golden product” that works year-round. During the winter I won’t be using it because for whatever reason, my face is not nearly as dry.
If you’re looking for a fix-all raise your budget to $80-$150 and consult a dermatologist. Or get botox.
I prefer a lighter gel, and this is it. My FAVORITE moisturizer. If Neutrogena stopped producing this product, I would die. This moisturizer is amazing and very light. I found that it sets better on the skin if you apply it while your face is damp.
I use it during the summer and winter and it just makes my face feel amazing and refreshed. I struggle with oily skin if I don’t mositurize and this moisturizer leaves no oily residue on my skin at all because it’s water-based.
I was introduced to this product by my boyfriend who’s dermatologist recommended it to him when he was put on Accutane to treat the side-effect of extremely dry skin. I was hesitant at first because I deal with oily skin, while he was having issues with dry skin but it worked amazingly on both of us.
This is my holy grail. My only complaint is that I wish it was a little more affordable for how little product is given!!! I’ve had to buy it about 3 times this school year and the price on it keeps going up.

✨Overview✨ I do not hold an extremely high regard for this product compared to many other people for a few reasons. The first reason is that Cerave doesn’t have the best ethical practices and has unnecessarily increased the price of this product, where it isn’t within drugstore prices anymore for a product that is honestly quite drugstore.
It is also relying on hyaluronic acid as a marketing tactic, in which hyaluronic acid honestly isn’t anything special and is overhyped. I believe that adding niacinamide would make this product better, for example.
Finally, I don’t like that this product contains dimethicone, a silicone. Considering all these contentions, I still have quite a bit of product left over, and I use it occasionally and will alternate it with other moisturizing products.
I also personally prefer using it on my body. ✨Full PM Routine✨ I use this product during my PM routine. Here is my PM routine: I will first lightly cleanse if needed, then immediately use a moisturizing essence such as the Cosrx “Full Fit Propolis Synergy Toner” and Marine Hylauronics from The Ordinary.
After these steps, I will apply “Buffet” + Copper Peptides, wait about 10-15 minutes, buffer with a small amount of the Cosrx Snail Mucin Essence, then apply my retinoid, prescription tretinoin in 0.
025%. After applying tretinoin, I will wait another 10-15 minutes, then apply my moisturizer. I will either use a mixture of the Cerave Daily Moisturizing Lotion with The Ordinary’s 100% Niacinamide Powder, or a mixture of the Cosrx Advanced Snail 92 All In One Cream with The Ordinary’s 100% Niacinamide Powder.
After that step, I will apply either an emollient or occlusive to lock everything in – and this depends on how I feel. Sometimes I will skip this step. For things I will apply at this step, I’ve been using the Laniege Water Sleeping Mask on and off for years, and I still do love the product.
I will either apply this product, or Sierra’s Bees Madre Madness Balm (I purchase this from iHerb. com). This PM routine has kept my skin in extremely good shape and it has worked for me.
Gave my confidence back and I feel like it saved my life. I’ve never had skin problems, so imagine at 41 how I freaked out as I woke up one morning and out of nowhere my face, legs, buttocks, arms, back, breast and stomach were all inflamed and itching uncontrollably.
For days I used calamine lotion and other topicals to stop the itching and flare ups. Washed everything and cleaned the entire room. About 4 days later I finally stopped itching and now everywhere the flare ups were, there were now dark black patches.
Days later they started developing on my face and dark circles underneath my eyes. My entire forehead and both cheeks were tight and shiny like leather. The feel was completely different from the other spots all over my body.
I was at a loss for words. No idea where this came from but it had to be some allergic reaction. I had just gotten over pneumonia that lasted 2 months. So maybe this was a side effect. I’ve read that some rare cases cause skin condition but why the week I was cleared from having it.
So maybe that wasn’t it! Anyway I applied lotion 3-4 times a day and Vaseline numerous times a day only to have small relief from the chaffing and tightness of the spots last only about 2 hours. Valentine’s weekend my fiancé had planned a vacation to Orlando, little does he know I wanted to cancel.
I was afraid the sun and hear would only make it worse and afraid that he would look at me differently. I reluctantly went alone using Vaseline on my face every few hours and kept my body covered wearing pants.
After 3 days, I said that’s enough I have to do something about this that’s different. Had him to stop by Walmart and went in and analyzed the products. Googled as I was in the store and settled on Cerave Moisturizing Cream and Cerave healing ointment.
Went to the hotel room a shower and applied the ointment to my face and Moisturizing Cream on my body. Telecaster again that night and the next morning you wouldn’t believe the difference it made. Plus it lasted for hours.
I continued this regimen and 30 hours later the leather on my face was no longer there it was only a small amount of chaff. My body was also healing and the dry patches weren’t nearly as dry. I continued for 3 more days and my face was now completely normal, so I switched to using the moisturizing cream with just a dab of ointment on my face for a couple more days then resulted to just Moisturizing Cream for my face and body.
2 weeks later, I’ve still seen nothing but improvements and my skin clearing up. The old skin where all the dark spots were and chaffed spots are now almost completely peeled and replaced with new skin.
Healthy, radiant and bright like before. I will continue using Cerave and researching their other products and see what’s the best way to maintain even after I’m completely in the clear from this. Cerave has given me the confidence I needed back and I am a lifetime supporter!.
To preface, I’m a 19yo female with normal skin that leans more dry in the winter and oily in the summer. I am acne prone and have recently finished six months of an acne medication. I have used this before and during my treatment, and will continue to use it as long as it’s made! When I’m doing my skincare, I typically alternate between using a salicylic acid toner, a retinol, a niacinamide serum, and a hyaluronic acid serum (depending on what my skin needs).
If I’m using my toner, I apply the toner to clean, dry skin and then apply this moisturizer on top. If I’m using my retinol or either serum, I mix them into this moisturizer and apply it as one concoction onto damp skin.
When I’m moisturizing my body, I apply it while my body is still wet coming out of the shower. I also use this moisturizer as a prep for my makeup! Overall, I absolutely love this moisturizer! It is basic in a good way! It has a gentle, non-scented formula that I can use on my face and body.
It looks great under makeup and always keeps my skin hydrated. This moisturizer sinks in perfectly without leaving behind a greasy, oily, or sticky residue. My skin can also breath through this moisturizer, which I’ve never found in a moisturizer that simultaneously checks my other boxes! Another great feat, it’s drugstore pricing in simple/functional packaging.
HIGHLY RECOMMEND to anyone looking for a classic moisturizer!.

I genuinely have not be able to use anything else on my face, but now I am at a loss. I have been purchasing tubs and tubes of this since 2018. I would say I’ve spent thousands on Ultra Repair Cream over the years because it’s all I can use.
I noticed about 7 months ago when I received my new tub in the mail it said “no artificial fragrance” as opposed to “fragrance free” like it used to… I was afraid to try anything else, so I used it, all year I’ve had random rashes and bumps on my face.
Sometimes I’ll get in bed and my face will just feel hot and itch. I on a whim decided to read reviews wherever this is sold today… and my constant skin irritation is all starting to make sense. WHY WHY WHY would FAB change the formula to this cult moisturizer.
This is heartbreaking for me, no exaggeration… I someone who has struggled so intensely with their skin. A product and company I trusted for my sensitive, dry, acne prone skin added wholly unnecessary essential oils to their main product marketed towards people with troubled skin.
I genuinely upset and feel sick that I slathered this all over my face today. I would go take a shower and wash it off, but I don’t even have an alternative product to moisturize with on hand. Please, please change the product back to what it was.
I feel duped. There was no announcement, no reasoning. Nothing. Change it back PLEASE. You’ve lost what would have been a lifelong customer.

Amazing cream! I use this in place of a night cream or on days that my skin feels dry and needs an extra boost. It’s highly moisturising and non irritating, which is perfect for sensitive skin. Love that there is no unnecessary added fragrance either.
Can be used on both your body and face. It’s one of those products that actually does what it says and works so much better than high end products. If you follow Dr Dray on Youtube then you will already know that she also recommends this cream a lot as well, especially for people using retinoids.
I’ve been applying it alongside my Differin gel to combact dryness from it’s use. After washing my face, I rub in a thin layer of this cream onto my damp skin (to lock in moisture) and follow with Differin after it’s dry.
Using it in this way as suggested by Dr Dray reduces the risk of irritation, but still allows the retinoid to be effective. Even if you are using it on it’s own, the Cerave Cream will work brilliantly to soothe and soften your dry skin.
It has great ingredients including ceramides which improve skin hydration. I have dehydrated combination skin and this has helped so much to repair my skin barrier along with following a good skincare routine.
You really have to try it to believe it!.

Reviews From Real Customers
I have very weird combo skin, normally oily, but pale and sensitive due to retinA, and breakout prone. I get oily everywhere except my cheeks, which get very dry half the year. I have tried both regular cream and the RICH cream, and I definitely feel that my skin loves the Rich one more.
It’s not like a heavy greasy cream, but it’s thick and rich, and I always want to take extra time to massage it into my face at night. It’s very unique. It’s unscented, nothing irritating in it, doesn’t burn or sting or cause any exfoliating.
I’ve gone through about 2 bottles in over a year, using mainly at night. If my skin happens to be really dry from retinA then i will use some before makeup or spot moisturize during the day. But typically I only use at night.
It spreads easy enough but still feels thick and doesn’t just disappear after you apply it. I would suggest shaking the bottle up every week. The oils in this don’t break me out like practically every other cream.
I feel like this adds a cushion to my skin at night, i use it before tretinoin prescription cream. And my skin feels protected and I wake up with more even skin tone every day. At first I bought the non-rich one thinking this would be too greasy for me, but ITS NOT GREASY! That being said, if you have extremely dry skin, you might want to try their facial oil over the top of this.
And always drink tons of water before and after bed because that’s the ideal time for your skin to repair itself. You can’t go to bed dehydrated and expect to wake up with glowing skin 8 hours later, you skin needs water even when you’re sleeping.
I truly believe in THE RICH CREAM and it is the main AB product I use. I have tried a couple others and I just bought the eye cream. So far this is my favorite and I hope they never change this formula.
But if they extend their line of skincare I will be happy to try new products. JUST DONT CHANGE THIS ONE.
I wasn’t sure about this cream at first. In all honesty I didn’t get the hype, the price tag is eye watering too, so that also put me off. I got a 15ml size of this in my calendar and I’m so glad I did.
I use it once to twice a day and at first I saw no difference in my skin, but I stuck it out and suddenly BAM I looked in the mirror one morning and it was like I had completely new skin, I only need 2 pumps to do my whole face, neck and chest.
For me a little goes a long way, so I have been able to trial this out properly. My pores are now tiny, my redness gone, skin is soft and silky and what really sold it to me, to the point I had to buy the full size, as I can’t imagine being without this cream now is that my scarring from childhood acne and I mean scarring, not the faded redness you get from an old spot, which mind you this gets rid of spots and the after effects of them fast.
Something that would take weeks to fade is healed and fine in a week if that. The childhood scarring which I have never been able to get rid of has softened, to the extreme of barely seeing them anymore.
It was at day 20 my skin just did a massive turn around and it’s still improving daily, If you’re unsure on this cream give it a go and stick it out. I use amazing, expensive products on my skin which I love but this is just different, amazing and you won’t regret it.
It works great with my existing skin care routine and sits nice under make up. I have combination skin and I don’t find this heavy at all and it certainly doesn’t clog pores. seriously does so much for the skin, it’s a little miracle in a jar!.
I have a very problematic skin. I have a few severe allergies that often result in hives (unfortunately most often on my face and neck), I suffer with water retention (read – tired and puffy skin) and also there is the rosacea.
If that was not enough – I was born with KP… I am in my late thirties and when I skin last year started to show substantial sign of premature ageing I went crazy looking for something that will help my skin to reset the o’clock (or at least slow it down).
It was like lockdown has added me 10 years! I tried most of the high end brands without any major breakthroughs and then I read about the Rich Cream and I decided to try… I know some people wait weeks for the result but it was not the case for me.
I could look again with joy into the mirror after just a couple of days. My dull, dry dehydrated skin was glowing! I continue using AB rich cream and experimenting with other products. My friends notice as suddenly everybody comments how beautiful my skin is and how I still look like I was twenty something years old… my skin is radiant, more elastic, more even and fine lines vanished and smoothed.
And my skin feels happy and comfortable :-).

CeraVe Moisturizing Cream with Pump (19 oz. ) moisturizes and protects rough, dry skin. Its gentle formula is non-drying and non-irritating. Dry skin is annoying and it hurts! You’ve tried everything to relieve your rough, red, dry skin, but nothing seems to help; until now.
CeraVe Moisturizing Cream was developed by dermatologists to give you all day relief from your worst dry skin. Its Patented MultiVesicular Emulsion (MVE) technology releases ingredients slowly, over time, for all-day protection.
Best of all, it’s not greasy, so you can apply it and forget it. Eczema is a specific type of dry skin that requires a special type of care. Most over-the-counter moisturizing creams contain chemicals and fragrances that not only don’t help eczema, but can actually make it worse by causing more burning and irritation.
CeraVe Moisturizing Cream with Pump is accepted by the National Eczema Association (NEA). It is non-drying, oil-free and fragrance-free so it won’t irritate sensitive skin. Dry skin is no fun, but sometimes, it can be difficult to avoid.
Whether your dry skin is caused by harsh weather or by repeated hand washing, CeraVe Moisturizing Cream with Pump can help soothe and restore rough, dry, cracked skin. You can apply it in the morning and its patented MVE technology will release the moisturizing ingredients slowly, throughout the day.
Or, you can use it in the evening, right before bed, for all night relief. CeraVe Moisturizing Cream is non-greasy and oil-free, so it won’t stain your bed linens. Sure, CeraVe lotion is a terrific solution for your toughest dry skin, but why wait until dry skin becomes a problem? Use this cream and other CeraVe products now, as a part of your daily moisturizing regimen, and you can help prevent dry skin before it starts.

This is not the same product nor company but I wanted to share this free amazing, hyaluronic hydration cream that a company is testing out and will send you the product 100% free and you only pay shipping.
It’s a huge tube as well, 100ml. The concept is, you pay what you want on a sliding scale starting at $26, all the way down to $0 if you wish, you only have to leave an honest review when they send the review email to you, a couple of weeks after the product arrives.
My honest review is that I would pay full price for this cream 100%. It’s a very light gel formula, sinks in immediately. Fragrance free, essential oil free and made for all skin types. It contains 5% niacinamide, 3% dimethicone, 3% glycerin, 2% centella Asiatica and 1% meadowfoam seed extract along with EIGHT separate forms of hyaluronic acid.
I was peeling in a few spots on my chin and around my mouth from a break out I was nursing with Differin and this cream/gel completely healed my dry flaky skin in two days of use. It also cleared up a small breakout I was dealing with from maskne around my chin.
This prototype that they are testing is perfect in my opinion and I will continue to use and will most definitely repurchase. You go to their website Rephr. com and go to their hydration cream. The company in known for their very expensive handcrafted makeup brushes made in Korea and this is their first skin care product they have created.
They have made 5,000+ units to put it out to test for the public and again, you can get this very large 100ml tube of hydrating goodness for absolutely free. It’s your choice if you want to pay $0, $5, $7, etc plus shipping.
Again, this gel cream is amazing. My skin absorbs it instantly as if it’s drinking it up and it leaves my face so smooth and moisturized. Get it. Thank me later!.
When I first started using this product, I was deeply thrown off by the strong scent. I purchased hoping for a rose scent, but it skews much more towards aloe. I did not love it, and also was thrown off by the inability to use it with other products – I found that the cream would react negatively with my cc creams, foundations or concealers and created a pilling effect, most noticeable around my cheek bones and jawline.
All that said, it made a HUGE difference in the quality of my skin tone, improving my dryness, redness and overall texture. Either with time I got more used to the scent, or it became less overpowering throughout the six months I used the product.
I also transitioned from using this product on days were I planned to wear a full face of makeup, to only using this on days I worked from home, or knew I didn’t plan to wear makeup. Again, the benefits of how this hydrated my skin outweighed my inability to layer with makeup – and I really consider this product more of a once in a while deep hydrating lotion, as opposed to an everyday option for myself.
I had purchased the mini size initially (which is what I try to do for all new skin products that offer this option) and I intend to repurchase at the full size. I recommend trying out the mini size first and seeing if this product is a good match for you, before investing in the larger size.
HIGHLIGHTS: -My normal skin type is dry and sensitive (typical ginger complexion issues) -First day using it, my friend who is a licensed esthetician looked at me and said “You’re skin is GLOWING, did you use something new?!” -One week using it so far, and I love how it’s making my skin look.
Evening out and glowing! -Does NOT PILL if you don’t apply too much and actually let it soak in (15 min). Details: This was recommended by a Sephora expert in the chat. I was hesitant since I saw lots of reviews that it pills when you put something on top of it (makeup, sunscreen, etc.
). I have not found this to be the case at all, AS LONG AS you let it soak in and don’t apply too much! Just apply less than you think, and give it like 15 min to sink in. I have put sunscreen over it every day and had zero pilling issues.
I’m seriously amazed that it made me glow on the first use. So much so that an esthetician took one look at my face and asked if I started something new because my skin looked so lovely. I bought the sample size but will absolutely purchase the full size once it’s out.
LOVE!.

Skincare has changed a lot and there are so many more high quality options on the market now. And La Mer is more money than I want to pay even though it has always been soothing for my sensitive skin.
So in the last few years I have tried several times to switch to highly recommended, dermatologist supported less expensive alternatives for protecting and maintaining skin’s moisture barrier. I have continued using high quality serums and some moisturizing essences at times.
I am not able to tolerate a retinol and have had trouble with vitamin C as well. Even though my prior attempts to change my moisturizer were not successful I listened to everyone who says its foolish to spend so much for something that is just a moisturizer.
So I tried again this year to change my moisturizer. Well, this winter I started struggling with redness, irritation, bumps and itchiness. I tried removing each of my skincare items to figure out if one was causing it.
I tried just using gentle cleansing and moisturizer only. I switched to yet another highly recommended dermatologist approved less expensive alternative. I stopped wearing my make-up. I went for a facial which made things slightly worse.
I was about to call for a dermatologist appointment because I began to wonder if it was some kind of dermatitis or maybe even a fungal infection. I remembered I had a little bit of la Mer left in an old jar.
I put a little bit on the bumps on my forehead and my jaw on the right where it was really bad. Went to sleep. Woke up with smooth calmed skin, no itching for the first time in 2-3 months. Only place I still had itching and bumps was on the left side of my jaw where I had not put any cream.
I think there are a lot of people including dermatologists and influencers who comment on skincare but who don’t have truly dry and sensitive (like really truly VERY dry and sensitive) skin. At this point I have tried at least 8 other highly praised alternatives including everything from CeraVe to medical grade skincare bought directly from the dermatologist in the last few years.
They are all I have no doubt excellent products with very good ingredient lists. But I am here to tell you that if you have really truly dry and sensitive skin look no further than la Mer. I don’t like to waste products so I will use up these last two creams I tried by alternating them with La Mer in the summer months.
But I’m not going to keep trying to replace La Mer. There is no substitute.
I got my hands on a small pot of Creme de la mer and decided to give it a try, after all there had to be some reason this was so highly recommended to me, right? Wrong! Just as I expected from a product that lists ‘mineral oil’ so high up in the ingredients list, and a potentially irritating ‘Eucalyptus Oil’ on the list too, I broke out literally on day 2.
The only positive was that it did slightly clear up a dry patch on my right cheek but to be fair I could have achieved that with anything on my dressing table. It sat like an oily film for hours on my face and its a testament to my patience how I didn’t grab the nearest washcloth to remove it with! Gave this to my mum to try (dry/normal skin type) seeing as I still had a bit left in the pot and her feedback was merely an “it’s ok, nothing special”.
If you have dry skin or suffer from dehydration and are NOT sensitive then by all means give it a try. From an ingredients perspective however there is nothing remarkable about this formulation. Antioxidants.
yes, but don’t expect the jar packaging to keep them stable, despite the addition of ‘Kathon CG’, normally found in rinse-off products, not ones that are meant to be absorbed by the skin! -> My ‘Nordstrom Beauty Top 7 must-have list’ (My 7 favorite beauty products of all time, focusing mainly on my purchases at Nordstrom) <- < 1.
Hair Loss Treatment: Divine Herbal Hair Oil < 2. Concealer: ‘Mac’ - Studio Finish Concealer < 3. Lip Gloss: Clarins Lip Comfort Oil < 4. Mascara: ‘Lancome’ – Cilis Booster XL < 5. Anti-Aging Serum: Divine Herbal Facial Treatment Serum < 6.
Mask: ‘Eve Lom’ – Radiance Transforming Mask < 7. Face Scrub: ‘Sisley' - Botanical Gentle Buffing Cream.
I really want to say I don’t like it to save my pocket the pain. But, my skin won’t lie. It loves it! I actually tried this creme a few years back (in my 20s), my skin hated it then and it disapproved it by protesting with a bunch of milia and tiny pimples.
The moment I hit my big 3, my skin decided to act wild (extra sensitive in forms of flame ups and pimples) and I tried various products, but this was the only thing that calmed it down. Yes, after a few years my skin decided it likes “miracle broth,” wasted my money back then.
What a grumpy and demanding child! I started with a mini emulsion and creme (gifts from La Mer), then I ran to grab the full size emulsion and creme. And because my skin loved it so much, I bought the creme duet set and another full size emulsion just to make sure I have backups.
The creme feels similar to Nivea cream, but it’s not the same. I tried to get my skin to like Nivea but it simply didn’t like it and didn’t calm anything down, it’s a great moisturizer for the body though.
The smell of Creme de La Mer is more elegant than the smell of Nivea Cream. Someone said rotten seaweed, perhaps they got a bad batch? I love the smell, a very calming sensorial flight for me every time I use it (AM and PM, and sometimes mid day if I go out and decide to wash my face mid day).
I use two pumps of emulsion then follow up with a pearl size of creme warmed up between my finger tips and patted on. My skin calmed, smoothed, lifting, and firmed; and my skin haven’t glow like this since my teens.
Will keep repurchasing until my skin decides it likes another product! The price isn’t bad, you only need a pearl size each time, a 7mL lasts me 2wks and 15mL 4wks with me using it almost 3 times every day.
I bought the creme duet which is a 60mL + 15mL and that should last me a while. If you buy a 60mL (4mths about) at CAD$470, it’s about CAD $4/day, that’s less than the price of a cup of Starbucks each day!.

This is my fourth one, its a must in my skincare routine/collection. Its $68 for 1. 69 fl oz and I think its worth every penny. I pick it up at every VIB Sale at Sephora which I recommend. I apply morning and night to clean, dry skin for the vital dose of protein and replenishing moisture the skin needs to retain its youthful appearance.
You can mix it with any Drunk Elephant serum, cream, or oil. It plays well with my other skincare products from other brands too. Just think of Protini in your Drunk Elephant skincare routine like adding a shot of protein to your smoothie.
Abundant with proteins nutrients, it replenishes restores your skin back to a strong, healthy state. Protini is formulated at the ideal pH level of 4. 0. 100% free of essential oils, silicones, fragrance.
Vegan and cruelty-free. Supporter of IEF (International Elephant Foundation). Ingredients worth Mentioning- Signal Peptide Complex (growth factors): Nine signal peptides (made up of amino acids, which form proteins in the skin) bind moisture to skin plumping, firming, and restoring bounce.
Pygmy Waterlily Stem Cell Extract: An excellent source of antioxidants nutrients to replenish the skin. This ingredient is extremely soothing, moisturizing, calming in supporting healthy, youthful-looking skin.
Soybean Folic Acid Ferment Extract: This B vitamin plays a central role in maintaining youthful, elastic skin. Skin is thirsty for folic acid, especially after exposure to sun.
I realized that somehow I’ve never gotten around to writing a review on this. It’s time to correct that: I’ve been using this moisturizer for years—four and a half, to be exact. I got it when it was first released in 2018, recently added in the new serum, and have decided I’ll use both until I leave this mortal coil.
Now, it’s not like I haven’t tried other moisturizers; I’ll sometimes be wooed by an interesting formula or see a new release that looks like it could be great, only to regret it when my skin isn’t as soft, balanced, or smooth.
I inevitably find myself crawling back, because this formula is an actual goldmine. If you disagree, you haven’t seen the INCIDecoder breakdown on this thing. There is no dupe, no alternative, if that ingredient deep-dive makes your eyes sparkle like mine did.
Between the amino acids (it’s like they couldn’t pick, so they threw in all of them) and the *growth factor cocktail?!* Go ahead and check the prices on the SkinMedica, NeoCutis, Biopelle, and Bioeffect EGF serums and creams.
I’ll wait. I’ve used 3 of them and the Protini duo makes my skin just as flawless for less $$/oz. -Yes, I bought this with my own money (repeatedly. ) -Yes, I DO wait for VIB sales to stock up (I’ve got bills to pay.
) -No, I’m not incentivized in any way (but I wouldn’s say no!) I just really believe this moisturizer is worth its weight in gold, and feel genuinely sad for every person whose skin doesn’t tolerate it.
tl;dr – If this formula ever changes or is discontinued, I will go through ALL seven stages of grief.
I love Drunk Elephant products. They are known for their cruelty free biocompatible products. All Drunk Elephant products can be mixed together. The polypeptide cream is amazing. First off, I love their packaging.
Their boxes are simplistic but beautiful made from recycled materials. The jar is a pump jar, opaque, to protect the actives from deteriorating from exposure to light. The pump eliminates having to stick your fingers into the cream and possibly contaminating it with bacteria from your hands.
The active ingredients include 9 Signal Peptide Complex, Pygmy Waterlily Stem Cell Extract, and Soybean Folic Acid Ferment Extract. So peptides basically tell your body to produce more collagen. Not only increasing firmness in your skin polypeptides is also associated with deep hydration, smoothing, strengthening the skin barrier, and even healing damage from UV rays.
It is a gel like cream that absorbs fairly quick into your skin. There is no fragrance added or essential oils, and it’s also 100% vegan. My skin was pretty oily before I started using this, and it seems to have regulated itself, and isn’t producing as much oil.
after just a couple weeks my skin is smoother, the tone is even, I didn’t have as bad of a monthly hormonal breakout like I usually do. My is is so soft and the fine lines I’ve started to get between my eyebrows look much better.
Their appearance is much less noticeable, and I have an overall youthful glowy appearance. I can’t say enough good things about this product. It’s definitely a Holy Grail product and definitely worth the pricey tag.

I am a big fan of Cerave products and have been using their cleansers and the daily moisturising lotion for a while. Most of Cerave’s products can be used on the face or body, but they made two moisturisers specifically for the face, one for AM with SPF and one for PM.
This is the PM one. It comes in a 52ml tube. The main difference between this PM face formula and the generic daily moisturising lotion is that it has the addition of niacinamde as the 4th ingredient in the ingredients list.
It also contains 3 types of ceramides and sodium hyaluronate like the normal moisturising lotion. Texture-wise, I find it a bit lighter and absorbs quicker. On the days where my skin felt a bit irritated, this was soothing and comfortable.
Even though it is light, my skin still feels hydrated overnight and there is no dryness in the morning. For reference, I have combination skin that’s currently a bit dehydrated. There is nothing wrong with this product and it is safe for everyone, including those with sensitive or irritated skin.
I just feel that besides the niacinamide, it’s not a huge improvement over the normal moisturising lotion, but the price is $22/52ml tube and that’s a huge jump from the moisturising lotion which is $15/236ml.
If you already have niacinamide in your other products or use a niacinamide serum and you’re ok with the texture of the daily moisturising lotion, you don’t need this.

IšverstiShow in original languageI got this moisturizer because it’s one of the only brands with good EWG scores. I wasn’t expecting much because on the whole I don’t think clean beauty delivers as good results as regular skincare, but this surpassed my expectations in every way! I have rosacea and quite sensitive, very dry skin.
Despite this, I hate creamy creams so I’m always looking for a gel moisturizer that still packs a punch. I’ve been using this throughout the Chicago winters (harsh winds and dry heating) and my skin has stayed dewy and plump.
I would never normally apply a moisturizer without cleansing my skin first, but on my laziest days I felt I could apply this just throughout the day because it’s non irritating and would never break me out.
My skin used to be so dry it would get tiny bumps all over as a coping mechanism / to hold onto moisture and they’ve completely gone since using this product. This also doesn’t pill no matter what I put underneath.
I’ve used different vitamin c serums, acids (lactic, Glycolic etc), different hydrating serums and different eye serums all together (like 5 layers) and it has never pilled! Some clean products don’t hold up well over time, but travelled to Brazil with hot temperatures and dipped my fingers in here at the gym, in the airpirt and different hotels over the course of 4 months and the color, consistency, smell and efficacy is the same as when I first opened it.
I seriously wish I could bathe in this.
IšverstiShow in original languagei love this moisturizer for various reasons. on top of having amazing ingredients, this is one of two moisturizers that work perfectly with my combo skin– providing sufficient hydration to moisturize the dry parts but also being light enough to not turn my t-zone into an oil slick.
this is also an all-year-rounder for me, being perfect for all seasons. can’t really ask for much more than that. to address all the reviews that stated it burned, this product does contain lactic & citric acid which are AHAs and are meant to help exfoliate the skin for a soft & supple look, on top of helping to fade any pigmentation or scarring.
if you are new to chemical exfoliants, i can imagine that you will feel this. for the aficionados, you likely won’t feel a thing. side note: even though i am constantly burning the skin on my face off, i do get some strange tingling/numbing sensation within the first minute of application if i haven’t used it for a while.
i disregard this as it goes away and nothing bad has ever happened.
IšverstiShow in original languageI really wanted to like this. I waited until I finished the jar to write this because I thought maybe it would grow on me…but unfortunately that didn’t happen. My skin is combination, sensitive and can get dry in winter.
So it’s hard to find a good moisturizer and I accept that I need to switch things up with the change of seasons. I started using this product in March and it effectively moisturized my skin and didn’t leave a shiny sheen but it made my skin red and irritated.
It also pilled under make up if I didn’t use just the right amount. Now that it’s summer, I still appreciate the lightweight moisture but it continues to make me redder; I now just apply to my neck which isn’t as sensitive.
So what I did like: the texture of the product and the lightness, definitely no shine left behind. I think people with oily skin would appreciate this formula. But what I didn’t like: the heated tingling, redness and irritation and pilling with make up.

This Peptide Moisturizer is SO soothing upon application, it is a relief to use after washing to restore the moisture barrier. The rosacea redness on my cheeks settles in no time with the anti-inflammatory properties of this light, fragrance free lotion.
I have experienced no rebound redness. The instructions call for a pea sized amount for the face, which would provide an awfully sparse application. On clean skin the spreadability of the product is really good.
I use it on top of serums and other treatments; It does NOT cause pilling of my other products, but using it on top of them reduces the spreadability quite a bit, so I end up using more of the product.
No big deal, but I hope they come out with a larger sized tube in the future. This lotion does NOT leave a greasy/shiny sheen, so it is a great choice to use under make-up or on makeup free days. I’ve only used this product in the tube packaging.
I ike the wide mouthed tube, because when you get to the end, you can just snip off the seam and access the remaining product easily. Some products that come in pumps prevent you from accessing all of the product.
I HIGHLY recommend this moustuizer!.
Just a regular moisturizer. As a simple moisturizer, I’d give it a 4. But it’s marketed as a peptide-based moisturizer, and it is not. The peptides are under 1% concentration (way below actually). Normally in an ingredients list, everything listed after Phenoxyethanol is under 1%.
So the peptides listed have no effect in actuality, only listed as a marketing gimmick. This is just another case of marketing ingredients or “benefits” on the package that aren’t actually included at an effective concentration.
The Inkey List has several products like this, unfortunately, including other products advertising peptides and ceramides and other ingredients which are at < 1% concentration. Either include the skin-benefit ingredients in the therapeutic range, or don't mislead consumers by marketing the product label/description as having those ingredients.
And certainly don’t mark up the price of products just for listing “beneficial” ingredients that won’t have any effect in the formulation. That goes for any company that engages in this, not just The Inkey List.
Companies need to understand that consumers are getting more and more educated and they need to adapt from deceptive practices like this.
I have been using this for almost exactly 2 months. I was liking it okay, other than the stinging and hardboiled egg scent. I have not had one single zit for that time, the longest stretch of my whole life, but I think that’s more related to using zinc pyrithione soap for perioral dermatitis at the same time (a complete miracle product).
I have to discontinue this moisturizer now because even after more than plenty of application, my skin is visibly dry, with the white skin dust and everything, as if I’m not wearing any moisturizer. My skin just guzzles it and is still parched.
I have to really load up on my second layer, Versed sunscreen to rely on it as the moisturizer, and it’s not very helpful at that either– going to take the plunge for First Aid Beauty intense hydration and see how that works.
Inkey peptide has also offered no plumping, and forehead lines are accentuated. I think climate is important here. I’m in a high, ultra-dry, wildfire-smoke climate. I think if I lived in Florida and was drowning in humidity, this product could be excellent.

Reviews From Real Customers
I absolutely adore this cream. I have combination/oily skin which is prone to acne and have tried hundreds of things, both pharmacological and skincare wise. I actually bought this cream by accident and was horrified when I realised it had a thick, balm type consistency as I was certain it would be awful for my skin but I’ve been completely amazed by it.
For my daytime skincare routine I use mostly La Roche-Posay products aimed at acne prone skin but at night time I like to try and inject a bit more moisture into my skin and this cream is just heavenly; it’s thick, nourishing, applies well on top of all other products/serums (I actually feel as though it really ‘locks in’ all my other products) and has a very very delicate but calming scent.
My skin initially feels quite oily after applying (hence only using on a night – I personally feel this would be too thick for me in the day especially if I was to try to apply makeup over it) but it soon sinks in and in the morning my skin looks and feels smooth, soft, plumped and clear.
Since adding this cream to my routine my skin has been in the best condition I’ve ever seen. Could rave about it all day long, HIGHLY recommend.
This is my second pot, and I am absolutely in love with it. I use it day and night, and it works brilliantly underneath make up. I have very dry skin, and get sore patches across my face. This moisturiser has helped heal those patches.
It’s quite thick, but a little goes a long way, and I’ve topped up particularly dry patches throughout the day if needed. I would recommend this to anyone, who has dry skin even if they get a little oily towards the end of the day; as I do.
This cream has totally saved my skin!.
Conclusion
After using this hydrating moisturizer for dry skin, my skin felt softer, smoother, and more hydrated. My makeup went on more evenly and my skin looked less dull. I would definitely recommend this product to anyone with dry skin!.
Sharing is caring!
