20 Best Hair Serums For Thinning Hair (2022 Updated)

Ive used this product off and on for several years but never had the discipline to be consistent with it. About two months ago, I decided to stick with it, and it seems to help a little. I have hormonal, genetic hair loss, so I didnt expect any drastic results, but since using it consistently about 4-5 times weekly and using proper scalp massage technique gently moving the skin of the scalp in circular motions for 20-30 seconds in each area and avoiding rubbing Ive noticed decreased hair fall and some new hair sprouting in the thinning areas.

I added 6 drops of rosemary essential oil to the a new bottle of this stuff about a month ago. I shake it up really well before using and have noticed more quick results. Overall, Id say dont expect a miracle, but it does seem to help with reducing hair loss.

I need to use it consistently for a good 6 months before making a definite decision as to whether or not it works well. If not, the next step will be minoxidil.

I just began to use this product. Between the first and second chemo infusions I started to loose hair. I would say, maybe 1/3 towards 1/2. Then it stopped falling out. ???? Who knows how this will continue.

I love their products and have some on hand, always. While I have not had time to know the results, thus the four star, I am trusting the product to at least do no harm. I am prepared to loose all of my hair although I may not so doing kind things to my scalp and pores I feel like I may be getting a head start.

I’ve been using pura d’or shampoosconditioners for years gold label, scalp therapy, blue label/hair thinning. I use them on average 2-3 times per week as hair insurance to keep my scalp healthy and my locks as thick as possible.

This is my first bottle of the scalp therapy serum and I haven’t been using it long enough to give an objective review. But if it works as good as their other products have for me, I’ll be adding it to my regular hair care regimen.

Don’t know that this product addresses thinning hair but it makes what I have “fluffy” if you will. Generally I really like the product. It is not heavily scented which I appreciate and I think it is a good value.

I’ll be 77 years old in two months and my hair has been falling out by the handful for years, so much so that I started getting extensions. Whenever I did anything to my hair, the sink and counter were literally covered with hair.

Aside from fall out there was a ton of breakage, even though I conditioned my hair religiously. Since I started using Better not Younger products, there is hardly any fall out or breakage. I think the breakage disappeared because my hair is much softer and more moist.

Just about finished my 1st bottle, and recently received the 2nd bottle. I’ve been using every night (give or take a night missed here n there). Not seeing much of a change, so hoping after getting through the 2nd bottle, I will be pleasantly surprised, as I so want this to work.

I must make a comment re: the 2nd bottle received, the liquid is a much darker yellow color than the 1st bottle I received, not sure what that’s about?? Dropper only fills about an inch high so have to keep filling it up which is a bit of a pain, & from the video on the website, not sure how you would put all the drops on your scalp & then start to massage it in, b/c it would be running all down your head.

Really hoping this works & my thin spots of hair on my head start to fill in, will be a customer for life. Would really like to know why there was such a big color difference between the 2 bottles?? Thanks, will review again after I finish using the 2nd bottle.

This is my second bottle of serum and I think it is working. In the past 6 weeks of use, in addition to using the shampoo, conditioner and hair butter, I notice at least the hairline in front is sprouting more hair (they’re short at this moment).

It seems I’m also losing less hair. I will continue to use this product combination for another 2 months. By then I’ll have a good idea how well this routine is working. For those of you who are having problems with the dropper to get the full 1 mL dose of serum this method works for me: tilt the bottle at an angle (~45 degrees), insert the dropper and quickly pump 3 times.

This will fill the dropper with about 0. 5 mL. Apply and massage the serum to one-half of the area you’re treating. Repeat the process of filling the dropper and massaging the serum into the remaining part of the head.

The Vegamour GRO Revitalizing Shampoo & Conditioner for Thinning Hair & Hair Wellness comes in a pretty light pink easy to use squeeze bottle that looks great on the shelf and dispenses the products properly.

The shampoo itself smells great and has a nice thick texture but spreads and lathers easily. I noticed that the Vegamour GRO Revitalizing Shampoo is a little more drying than some of the other volumizing shampoos I’ve tried but it works well for my hair.

I wouldn’t use it more than once a week because of how drying it is… for me, I think cleansing shampoo rules apply here. I didn’t notice a lot of differences but my hair did feel fuller and the shampoo helped with the oiliness of my hair.

Overall, I wasn’t upset about the Vegamour GRO Revitalizing Shampoo & Conditioner for Thinning Hair & Hair Wellness set. It works pretty well for me. I think that some of the people that are experiencing breakage or fallout might already have dry hair so the additional dryness from this shampoo just isn’t working for their hair type.

I personally didn’t notice this in my experience but I also noticed how drying the product was for my hair and adapted my usage. I purchased this directly through vegamour because they were having a 25% sale but I intend to replenish via Sephoras upcoming sale. I’ve been using vegamour for six months because my hair inexplicably dramatically slowed its growth and became very thin.

I went to multiple doctors and had lots of tests done and thankfully, everything is fine, but we have no idea what is causing the hair issues. Out of desperation I tried this product. After two months I saw modest growth and a slow down of shedding.

I paired the shampoo/conditioner with the serum. I ran out of serum a few months ago but continued to use the shampoo and still see the benefits and my hair had grown more the last six months than the entire last two years.

I pair the shampoo with a “scalpy” aka plastic tool that scratches your scalp and really makes it clean. (I got one from Amazon for about $6) My hair is soft and manageable after I use the shampoo. I also actually really like the smell.

Overall, im personally very happy with vegamour products because they seem to be working for me and they leave my hair cleaner and softer than before. After some research it appears the serum is basically a concentrated form of caffeine and that the ordinarys hair serum, which is a fraction of the cost, is also caffeine so I’m considering just using that serum instead of paying a lot more for vegamours.

Nevertheless I plan to continue using the shampoo/conditioner because at the very least it leaves my hair very clean, soft and manageable but also does actually seem to help with growth.

I received a full size sample of this product from Influenster and Ouai, in exchange for my honest review. I have been using this product for the past 6 weeks, at least 5x’s/ week. I have straight, long hair with an overly dry and sometimes sensitive scalp.

I have this both on wet and dry hair, and I haven’t noticed much of a difference in this aspect, however, I did prefer using it on wet hair, just because I felt that it absorbed better and was easier to distribute evenly onto scalp.

After initially using, I did appreciate the nice, clean smell that the product had and I did enjoy the feel of the product on my scalp. However, that is about where it has ended for me. I’m unsure to how much benefit that I have really seen.

I don’t see much of a difference in regards to how thick, longer, fuller that my hair has been vs. prior to using this product. I do think that there may have been a slight difference in how much it seems as if my scalp is less dry.

I do appreciate that the product did not make my scalp any more dry, nor did it leave my hair looking or feeling greasy or leave any greasy residue. However, with the temperature change/ season changes, my scalp is usually pretty bad during this time.

In exchange for my honest review, I did receive this product to test from Influenster. I started testing this serum a little over a month ago and I have actually noticed a slight change! I have a bit of eczema on my hairline that causes dandruff as well as irritation.

Since using this product a few times a week, I’ve noticed that my hairline isn’t nearly as dry or flaky! Do not use it on ANY open areas or irritated skin though! After applying this to my scalp, I put aloe on a sunburn without washing it off my hands and it burned so bad! There was only a very very small bit still left on my hands but please use caution with broken or irritated skin while using this stuff.

The best application method I’ve found is after the shower but dropping it onto a dry scalp and rubbing it in seems to have worked just fine! It takes a bit to soak in but dries down in any hair it was applied to amazingly.

I just rub my fingers across it when it’s all dry and you can’t tell anything was there. The serum does have a strong minty kinda citrusy, clean scent. I didn’t mind it but it is something to note. I also suffer from some hair loss on my hairline as well and haven’t noticed much of a difference in my hair fullness if any.

I’ll continue using the bottle up and seeing if there is any difference. Overall it gets a 6 1/2 out of 10 for me. I don’t know if I would purchase this product at full price but a bottle of it seems like it would last a very long time!.

I have been using the spray for one month now after feeling my hair thinner with less volume, and I can already see a lot of hair growth. Can’t wait to see the results after 3 months of use. I have never seen that before.

I have been using this product along with the shampoo, conditioner and capsules of the same brand for the last few weeks and have to say I have noticed less hair loss since using these products. The serum does have a smell that reminds me of either T-Gel or Vosene and does linger for a while.

After spraying 10 sprays around my scalp and massaging it into my scalp, it did leave my hair feeling fresher. My hair does feel better for these. The bottle will last a while as a little seems to go a very long way, but it does state that 1 bottle will last around 3 months.

Love that all the packaging is recyclable and that it is all natural ingredients. I would have given it 5 stars if the smell was better.

I’ve been using this product alongside the capsules, shampoo and conditioner and after 3 weeks, there is noticeably less hair loss. I use this serum every three days. It is easy to apply and I usually massage into hair and scalp.

I love the tingle and cool sensation on the scalp which lasts for minutes after application. Unlike many serums, this product is light so does not weight the hair down, contaminate everything your hair touches or lead to product build up.

The scent is a light medicinal smell which I found disappears within hours. It is early date but I believe this product is producing results.

I have to say since I started using the Thinning Hair Serum , I have noticed a slowing down of the hair falling out. The more I’ve used it the less I found in my brush or the shower. Sure enough down the list is the ingredient caffeine. But I didn’t stop there – I also googled the other ingredients. Not only are the ingredients awesome in promoting scalp care and regrowth — google them one by one if you don’t believe me! Also, the Environmental Working Group (EWG) says the ingredients used are the gold standard (Rated 1 on their.

So if your looking up this products ingredients, you will also see just how clean and good they are for your skin. HUGE BONUS!! Dr. Shah says that caffeine is an ingredient in which the more you use, the more the skin absorbs.

Based on this information, my night time hair routine now includes both the Caffeine 5% along with the Multipeptide Serum. So this is my routine; I take my clarifying scalp massage brush and take the dropper from the Multipeptide Serum container and typically apply one to two drops (NOT droperful if you use too much your roots can look greasy, like mine did, when I got to over enthusiastic with the product) to each temple and one to two drops to my bang area.

I then put one drop on the top of my scalp and one drop to the back of my head. I take my scalp brush and rub the product all over while massaging it in to my scalp (this scalp brush works so much better than my fingers and because of the viscosity of the serum a little really does go a long way & my scalp brush does an excellent job of distributing the product even further than the areas that I put the solution).

Then I apply the caffeine solution using the same method and the same amount to those same areas. The only difference is that the caffeine solutions is a bit thicker than the hair serum so I just took a little longer with it.

The last part of my routine is that I take a multivitamin every day, a vitamin B complex, vitamin D3, lysine, fish oil, and biotin. As I said, I’m purchasing again because I now have baby hairs all over those areas now.

I think I have had this first bottle around 6-8 weeks. Dr. Shah said that caffeine can even help with hair loss conditions like alopecia and female patterned baldness but he did stress that the studies suggest that you have to begin treatment sooner rather than later.

My understanding is that hair needs 4 things to grow: – Proper nutrition (vitamins and minerals) – Bloodflow to the hair follicles (to help transport the good stuff to where it needs to be used) – Protein for hair structure – Moisture for softness, flexibility and shine (and scalp health!!!) In my experience (at about a quarter way through the bottle), this formula basically works like a leave-in protein treatment.

As soon as I used it, it gave me an immediate volume boost (in appearance at least) by making my roots look less stringy and limp against my scalp. Within about a week, I started to see significant change in my curl and wave pattern.

Where before, my curls and waves were limp, completely abandoning me the second I put a comb to my hair, now, they were holding up. My ends got curly, the middle of my hair got wavier, and my waves even moved up all the way to my scalp.

That being said, this formula WILL dry your hair out. Not because it removes existing moisture, in fact, it seems to have quite a few moisturizing ingredients, but because protein and moisture need to be balanced! Too much protein relative to moisture will make your hair dry and brittle, too much moisture will make it stringy and structureless, and too little of both will leave you with dull, lifeless hair that breaks, falls out and looks like straw.

I try to use 100% squalane oil to help keep my hair moisturized in between washes and condition treatments (applied to the scalp and then brushed or combed through the hair). Overall, make sure to get a good assessment of what your hair needs.

I purchased this about six months ago and have been using almost every night. I don’t have any concerns with thinning in general though I would love the baby hairs at my temples to be just a tad longer and fuller but honestly I think mine are just genetic and not particularly noticeable anyway.

I have fine hair but its pretty dense. My scalp is really sensitive though and I can’t use detergent based cleansers or shampoos on it. I usually use a cream cleanser or just water. This serum has kept my scalp really happy, moisture levels stay really even so I don’t experience days of dryness or of too much oil.

It has also made my scalp less itch so I don’t end up touching it as much which is a welcome relief. I’ve also noticed that in the morning, the volume I have at the roots is really nice. Something that isn’t a given with fine hair.

I also would swear that my growth rate has increased which is something that come with a happier healthier scalp. I’m really surprised that others have commented that this makes their hair look oily.

I have not had that experience at all. The serum feels really light and watery and seems to dry pretty fast for me. I would suggest following the directions and use it at night, and just apply a few drop directly to the roots then massage in with fingertips.

If you put it on your hair shaft it will just flow along your hair and not get to your scalp which is where it needs to go to do the good work it does. I’m really excited that Deciem is increasing their hair products for the ordinary.

I love everything I’ve ever tried from them and I can’t wait to try the other products in the hair line. I’m also super fragrance sensitive so as always I REALLY appreciate that they don’t complicate their formulas with fragrances and essential oils which are just to volatile and unnecessary.

I hate that this has glycerin in it!! Why does Curlsmith have to add glycerin to ALL their products? They make my hair super frizzy! I think this elixir is working because my hair has gotten longer, but I have not noticed any new hair growth.

I have only used this for a month. But I don’t like using it because it makes my hair super frizzy because of the glycerin. I wash my hair once or twice a week. Since I have to put this on everyday, I have to deal with frizzy hair daily.

I think I will stop using this and the morning serum. I’ll just stick with the pills for a while and see how my hair reacts without them.

Omg, this oil is the bees’s knees! Holy heavens, it smells like cherry cream soda and is good enough to eat, coming from someone who is extremely sensitive to smells! It is amazing with Ayurvedic, organic ingredients, lightweight and suitable for daily use as a leave in during nightly scalp massages, weekly hot oil treatments or added to a deep conditioning mask.

It actually soaks into my low porosity hair type, instead of just staying on the surface and making it oily, which is huge! I can’t use most oils because they’re too heavy and they generally smell so disgusting (castor oil), but this serum is a must have! It leaves it bouncy, voluminous, shiny and so incredibly soft.

There are many issues I can tell you about this product. The first one is it’s size. Please consider purchasing the larger size because if you try to return this tiny bottle, the ladies at Ulta will think you’re scamming them because there’s barely any product in it.

This has. 6 fluid ounces which is basically a few drop. Ulta’s return policy is the product must be at least halfway full or they won’t accept it. I kept trying to tell them this product barely had anything in it to begin with.

They ended up letting me do it but it was a huge hassle. Now for why I returned it. This stuff gave me serious scalp acne and it ended up going down onto my forehead. I don’t get acne on my scalp nor on my forehead so I know it was this product.

I used it for less than two weeks. Obviously I didn’t see any new hair growth. It’s also very oily. Most of it ends up in your hair. I think it’s way too overpriced as well. There’s no magical ingredients in it.

Where are these positive reviews coming from? Since minoxidil was not on Ulta’s big sale but this was in place of it I decided to try it. I knew it wasn’t minoxidil but there’s so many good reviews I figured it would stand in for 2 months.

This made me lose all my hair progress. It did not help my hair at all. The packaging is absolutely terrible. It’s so wasteful! The “serum” it pure water consistency so it drips all over your face when applying.

You can’t get it all out because of the packaging and it’s spills out so easily. Because of the stupid small hole for the dropper I can’t get a small brush inside to brush the liquid for less mess however they don’t have anything preventing it from spilling out easily! So useless.

It does what its supposed to do, helps thin flyaway hair have some oomph so you can get some lift and fullness. My hair is pathetically fine and this stuff really helps. I recommend it.

So I have super thick hair but after having our daughter my hair started to fall out and I realized I could most certainly use a scalp treatment and this one is one of the best! It has a minty sensation that makes your head cool and feels amazing! Also it thickened my hair which I really didn’t thick was more possible!.

These drops feel so amazing on the scalp. My husband has dreads and I use these to moisturize his scalp and he states it feels much better than any oil he’s ever used. I use these as well for my edges and it also smells amazing.

I love Camille Rose products so much. The consistency of the product is not like that of other scalp moisturizers. It is more liquidy, almost like watered down aloe vera gel. It makes my hair so soft and smells yummy.

I’m obsessed with this product. I’ve always been skeptical of these especially how much you pay for a small amount, but this one is very generous and I have noticed so much new growth in areas I was worried I’d caused permanent damage to.

I use 1-2 droppers worth once or twice a day and apply directly to my scalp from the dropper. I wish I would’ve measured before and after but I can tell just from looking at it that my thinner areas have filled out and it is growing longer as well.

I also use a small drop on my eyebrows and have noticed they’re thicker as well:).

I’ve been using this product for five weeks. Following the how to use directions to the T. I have thing edges and some small spots that are bald. I’m not sure if it’s working just yet. But I like the fact that the contents is not messy and drys quicks.

What I didn’t like about this product , while using the drops I had my hair In a protective style. Braided cornrows. My scalp was extremely flaky!!! I couldn’t understand why. I have a very healthy scalp so that took me by surprise.

When I say Flaky is was Bad. Also the bottles are pretty expensive and don’t last long. Don’t think I will use on my entire scalp again. Maybe just the areas needed!.

i’m 3 yrs clean from an eating disorder, and the only thing that hadn’t recovered was my hair. i had thick, THICK curly red hair and all my life i’ve had quite a bit of shed, but unfortunately since suffering from an ED my hair health took a huge hit and wasn’t growing in fast enough to replace the loss, and my hair has thinned dramatically.

it doesn’t help that i’m 30 now and women in my family have a history of hair loss. i wasn’t ready to commit to something like rogaine (which evidently you have to keep using or you lose everything you grow!), but with how fast my hair was thinning i knew i was going to have a bald spot and was desperate to mitigate the damage.

i am sooo happy this was the first thing i tried. one bottle in and my hairline, which i hadn’t even realized had receded so much, is growing back in quickly. i haven’t had this much baby hair in years! the thinning at my part and on top of my head is also already far less noticeable! i am under no illusions with my age and how much damage has been done that i’ll ever return to hair like i did when i was a teen/early 20s, but this stuff is working magic to at least keep me from going bald.

my only criticism so far is that it is such a tiny bottle for a big price. i went through it in less than a month only using it once a day. at the very least it appears to be actually working, which makes it worth it to me, i just wish there was a bigger bottle available.

First I’d like to express that I’m not one to write reviews. These products have become such an integral part of my daily life that I felt I should share my experience. After using the starter pack my results were just amazing.

Hair loss(which had become almost devastating) stopped immediately, and at about 2 months it seemed to thicken overnight. Like clockwork the minoxidil spray worked so well I wanted to tell the world !!! I could put my hair back with sunglasses, ponytails were back and I could actually wake up, brush my hair and just walk out the door !! I can’t explain how much confidence had been given back to me.

I continued with only the hair growth spray but I believe if I missed a dose hair loss started again, but it didn’t matter considering I had plenty of hair to spare 🙂 During approximately the first 6 months I applied the Minoxidil spray on wet head after shower (before blow dry) and again in the morning with incredible results.

Then between 6 and 8 months, up to the present, I’ve had issues like extremely dry, itchy, blistery scalp. I’ve been shedding hair again but dandruff shampoo lessens the scalp problem. I take small breaks to allow my scalp to go back to normal and started using an eyedropper to apply the product.

I also blow dry before application now but it’s been a struggle trying to pinpoint where I’m going wrong I would appreciate any advice on how to get the results I had in the beginning, or if I need to find an alternative.

I love the volume I get from the Lift and Repair treatment it makes a noticeable difference 🙂 I don’t see much difference using the Hair Boosting serum.

I use this Keranique Follicle Boosting product along with my Keranique Thickening and Texturizing Mousse daily after washing my hair, and I’m very pleased with the results! Given my age, my hair has started to thin out, exposing a dreadful cowlick toward the back of my head.

I’ve been rather self conscious of it when using a mirror to view how my hair looks, and I see it! After washing my hair, I spritz on the Follicle Boosting Serum, rub it into my scalp, wait a few minutes, then add the Texturizing Mousse and gently rub into my scalp and through the rest of my hair.

I then blow dry my hair with a round brush and Wha La! The hair falls into place and I’m not looking at that dreadful cowlick! Great products for thinning hair! (-:

After much deliberation, I decided to purchase the Anti-Aging product line to assist in maintaining my already healthy hair. The serum did not provide any visible benefit and in fact when I applied it, it caused my hair to look dry and rough textured.

The second time I used it, it caused my hair to stick together and tangle. I applied the serum on damp hair and after drying it as instructed on the website and videos. On dry hair, the serum caused it to clump together, almost as if it was glued.

I had to use a wide toothcomb and a spray bottle with water to detangle my hair. Trying to do so otherwise would have caused breakage. I had high expectations of the product based on all the marketing but sadly it did not deliver and did not work for me.

I have only used a sample of this product. What my issues is with the Dr Sturm hair line is that I am not able to decide which product to select. Sofar the antiaging shampoo was my favorite. I understand I can’t judge a product only using a sample, especially for hair it should be tested for 6 month but I was not overwhelmed with the serum.

It does not absorbs and I only used it before I washed my hair. Perhaps if it would cost less, I would consider and make a better judgement.

To all my Seborrheic dermatitis sufferers. I have tried this product for about a month now. I also bought the clarifying shampoo and saw almost no difference in My condition. I have mild/moderate Seborrheic dermatitis so I wouldn’t suggest the clarifying products for such condition.

I love Dr. Sturm’s skin products but this one just didn’t do the job.

I usually do not like to write a review on this kind of product until a good 3 months. However, this product works immediately by thickening your hair strands. You get body/volume immediately. I have studies all of the individual ingredients in this product over the past year or so (as they are available in other products as well) and the science is there.

I expect hair growth in less than 3 months and progress thru the year as I have had success with Redensyl, Capixyl, Procapil, and Caffeine before. Anagain is new to me and is in this masque. The lab and clinical science supports these ingredients for androgenic alopecia.

The masque will not only serve as an excellent styling product for you but also for growth. I recommend use it AFTER your scalp is dry from a good caffeine shampoo and conditioner like Veta. Leave it on all day.

Disclosure= I was offered a free bottle for testing and feedback. My hair is very fine and thinning. It gets oily super fast, and then looks even thinner plus my scalp is often itchy and awful flaky some times.

In about 3 weks of use, I have noticed a pronounced difference! My roots seem thicker especially at the front and I have much less oil production. My scalp seems healthier than it has bean in some time, and never itches.

I will point out that I do not follow the instructions exactly. I put this on at night and do not wash it out. It feels cool, not at all irritating, and when I wake up in the morning my hair looks thicker! I just comb it out.

I really enjoy the smell of it too. Good job with this product, and I will purchase a bottle when this bottle runs out.

I have been using the Scalp Masque (Pre Shampoo) for about 3 weeks. I have never used a pre-shampoo before, but the science behind this is solid and I believe my hair is becoming a bit denser. Time will tell, but I believe this is a solid complement to the Reviv Serum, which I have been using daily for about 2 months now.

I recently had covid and started to loose my hair after, so I’ve been in search of a good hair growth serum. I love all of the Necessaire products and I have my hopes up for this product! I love that it’s fragrance free and super easy to apply (the applicator is perfect and I just massage the drops into my scalp).

The first thing I’ve noticed is that my scalp felt really good after the serum application – hydrated and no greasy feeling. After about a week of use I realized that my scalp’s Ph balance must’ve improved because all of the signs of occasional irritations (feeling itchy) have disappeared.

I’ve been using the serum for 2+ weeks now and obviously there won’t be any quick results with hair growth, but so far I feel like the this product is doing great things for my scalp, so I’m looking forward to see more results in the near future.
