A dog training collar with bark control is a device that is worn around a dog’s neck and is used to train the dog not to bark excessively. The collar gives off a small shock or vibration when the dog barks, which acts as a negative reinforcement to the dog and helps to train them to stop barking.

Absolutely incredible! The very first day I used it on my 9-month-old Springer, I saw results! She always barked non-stop while I was preparing her meals. She barked as usual while I was preparing her breakfast; by that evening when I was fixing her dinner, she didn’t bark at all, and hasn’t since.
Her barking while playing has really subsided to a minimum. I have also used it on her brother with similar results. The one-size-fits-all collar has closely spaced holes for a perfect fit. The only drawback is that the collar is long, and there is no place to secure the excess.
I solved this problem by cutting off several inches; still leaving enough collar to accommodate my larger dog’s neck. I highly recommend this product.
Wow, I am so surprised I didn’t buy this earlier. I have a very energetic 1yr Purebred male German Shepherd. He doesn’t have a bad habit of barking all the time but whenever he sees another dog, he goes crazy.
I have only used this twice now, on level 1, and he will not bark when he wears the collar. This is the best tool that I have found to really cause your dog to actually THINK about what he or she is doing.
I can try to calm him down all I like with no collar, but I am not a robot so therefore the likely hood of myself being completely consistent every single time I have to correct him is slim. He is trained, overall very kind.
But I am so glad I have finally found a solution to this problem. Thank you!! He won’t need to wear it every single day, but having the ability to come back to the collar for any extra reinforcement in the future is awesome.
oh and the money back guarantee is also great too! :).

The SBC-10 performs as advertised. It is quick to recharge and maintains charge surprisingly well. It is VERY effective, and WILL end the habitual barking. I have 3 beagles housed in outdoor kennels, that had developed a habit of persistent barking.
The SBC-10 ended the behavior immediately. Correct color adjustment is crucial. I very much recommend using the ‘user select’ mode, and in the minimal stimulation setting, as it is more than enough stimulation for effectiveness.
Although the description sounds less severe, I feel that the ‘progressive stimulation’ mode only creates inconsistency in training principle. My previous experience with e-collars was in stopping hunting dogs from running deer.
I found that to be quite simple, effective, and straightforward. Using the SBC-10 is quite different in that it is not as straightforward for the dog, in that since the stimulation is likely to produce barking in reaction, and that a chain of bark/stimualtion, bark/stimulation is likely to occur, and takes MUCH longer for the dogs to learn to avoid the pattern.
A mode level low enough to avoid the reaction barking, and high enough to stop the voluntary barking is the goal. Using an ordinary e-collar to break dogs off deer of course does not stimulate the dog to a reaction bark, but is not useful for bark control.
My German shepherd’s barking had gotten so bad we were nearly thinking we might have to rehome him Our shepherd would sit perched on a mound and constantly bark at the neighbours dog all day. And if the dog wasn’t there, he would keep barking until the dog appeared We thought we had tried everything – walking everyday, thousands of dollars on training, confining to small sections of the yard, using other static collars.
But nothing worked After our new baby came along, and we couldn’t respond to his barking straight away, we were nearly at the point of rehoming him. I’ve also lost count of how many council notices we’ve had from our long suffering neighbours complaining After a quick call to barkcontrol, they were able to give me heaps of advice and recommended this collar.
I was a little dubious as we had tried different static collars in the past, but he just barked straight through them I ordered it on Friday and it arrived on Sunday. We charged it up and popped it on him.
We set it to manual mode and put it on number 4 (as recommended as our dog was already used to wearing other static collars). I can tell you now – it worked straight away! He gave it a few “test” barks; and we’ve not heard a peep from him since! Hes nearly 8 years old and has been a habitual barker for most of his life!! My only regret is that we didn’t buy this years ago!!! 11/10 would recommend! I would pay any amount of money for a product that works this well (I did find it a little tricky to set up as the buttons aren’t super responsive, but I still managed to figure it out ok).
I don’t typically wright reviews however I had to with this collar because it has relieved so much stress from my life. This collar is for my large breed Great Pyrenees/shepherd mix. We live in a busy city and he barks non-stop at every single dog he sees and he is very aggressive about it too.
I’ve paid over $1k on training sessions and nothing could get him to stop. I was so tired of dealing with it and being embarrassed on our family walks. This collar changed everything for us, it doesn’t bother him and works like a charm.
I use setting 6 for my dog which doesn’t seem to hurt him badly but definitely gets him to stop losing his mind after seeing a dog. I see some bad reviews on this product and I want to stress the importance: YOU NEED TO FIT THE COLLAR CORRECTLY OR IT WILL NOT WORK AT ALL! I was at first frustrated because the collar would only work every several barks (not effective) however i read the manual more in depth and fixed the fitting.
It has to be tight enough to work and the band of the collar has to be just under the ears or the base of the skull. All in all great product, life changing really.

Our dog (a pure-bred Labrador) had a pretty serious barking problem and the previous collar we had that vibrated or beeped when she barked wasn’t working. I’m not sure why. and it needed weird battery that was hard to find and not cheap.
But this one has a remote and can produce a beep, a vibrate or even a shock – as required – and the batteries of both collar and remote are rechargable using USB and last all day. Turns out our dog has never needed a shock – but being able to control it from the remote is great.
I’d give this an EASY 5/5 except for one thing – the collar seems to turn itself off after some amount of time – it’s not that the battery runs out – so I’m not sure why it goes off. The push button on/off switch has to be held down for 2 seconds – and it’s recessed so it’s unlikely that it’s being pushed by mistake.
I also wish it came with two charger cords so I could charge both collar and remote together overnight – but the battery in the remote lasts several days – so it’s not a huge deal. But at this price, it easily beats some of the $100+ devices – and I strongly recommend it for any medium to large sized dog.
maybe not so good for a tiny dog though – the collar is kinda bulky for a small dog.
good basic trainer, directions are in passable ” pidgeon english”. Great safety set up. it has to be in the OFF mode before you can set the intensity of E setting. the sound and vibrate settings increase while resetting shock mode.
If collar is not going to be used for days would recommend turning OFF. Press button on collar until you see Red flash. to turn ON press button -it will vibrate and flash GREEN. My setter is 40 # and I have to use at least #25 to get her attention.
She does stop for the BEEP and VIBRATE, but not long if she has a scent. Good Luck.
It does the job and has some nice features, but not great. PROS Inexpensive Used but very little signs of use. The lock switch is helpful to avoid unintentional shock Sound and vibrate modes are helpful.
My dog usually responds to these, no need for shock. I like that the remote control will tell you how much battery the control and the collar have left. CONS Feels cheaply made. Very light plastic. Both the remote and the collar are big.
Much bigger than the previous shock collar I had, which my dog chewed up. Did not come with rubber tips for the collar electrodes. The electrodes are a a bit pointy, which has to be uncomfortable around the neck.
To change the shock power, you have to hold a button and turn a knob. Doesn’t make for quick adjustments. Did not include a charger.
The DogWatch BT-7 No-Bark Collar is designed to change your dog’s barking behavior. If your dog barks excessively, the Bark Collar delivers a vibration or a stimulation at a level that is just enough to distract your dog and break the barking cycle.
This Bark Collar has 7 adjustable settings from low to high plus a vibration option so you can select a setting appropriate for your dog. The vibration or stimulation gradually increases within the selected setting if the dog continues to bark.
When the barking stops, the collar resets. The 7 adjustable settings include a vibration setting, 5 stimulation settings and a Progressive setting that begins with Vibration and gradually progresses from Low to High if the dog continues to bark.
The long-lasting, easy to recharge battery typically stays charged for several months. This may vary based on the barking frequency and pattern. Low battery indicator lets you know when it is time to recharge.
Lightweight, waterproof Includes: Bark Collar. Collar strap. Battery charger. Long and short contact posts. Owner’s Manual.
It’s true, amazing customer service! I called before I bought my collar and the gentleman I spoke with was very generous with his time and information. Made me feel much better about using the bark collar which I had avoided for so long.
I didn’t know I had a problem till I received a complaint letter. My dogs don’t bark when I’m home but I found out they bark even though my husband works from home. I bought 1 collar to share amongst my 3 Dachshunds and 1 Pomeranian to see how it worked.
They have different times and triggers for barking. None of them seem to mind wearing it. It’s stopped the barking while we’re at home. It’s reduced the barking when we’re both out (only 2 days so far) so we’re still working on that.
The bark counter function is genius as I can gauge its effectiveness. Battery life is excellent, haven’t charged it since the first time. Very happy and will be getting another one.
I highly recommend this collar for people who have tried other deterrents, without success, like I had. Most importantly it does not appear to distress my dog at all, while it stops his problem barking.
I am happy with the high quality build and soft collar with buckle, which is much better than a clip in type of closure. The device holds charge well, with no need to recharge after each use. I was very grateful for the excellent sales and after sales support; the guys know what they are talking about, were very pleasant and helpful.
An added bonus, the collar reached me in 2 days! Great value for the price.
This is the one for us. I wish I had purchased the BT-7 BarkCollar BT-7 in the first place! Spending the extra money and doing your research is worth it! Our Labrador is now calm and happy. She only barks to alert us to an intruder or a perceived danger.
Prior to purchasing this collar. We noticed a sudden change in her behaviour when we moved house. 5am pedestrians and dog walkers and foxes passing by would set her off and we’d often have to get out of bed to give positive reinforcement or bring her inside.
In the beginning, I purchased the Petsafe Basic Bark Control Collar – PBC19-10765. It came with free Replacement Batteries and I purchased an extra pack to save on future postage. Initially, our Labrador responded quickly and barking reduced, however, I don’t believe that was the correct unit for our girl.
Her irritability and persistent barking returned to full on annoyance after about four weeks. We replaced the first two complementary batteries, every 4-6 weeks and by August, I purchased 2 replacement Petsafe Red Nylon Straps, as they deteriorate and become too loose.
After months of persevering, I returned to Bark Control website to do some further research. In October, purchased The BarkCollar by DogWatch – No Bark Trainer BT-7 and I wish I had done this in the first place!.

Reviews From Real Customers
I was so against e collars beforehand that I condemned anyone who used them. However when I got my own dog and he absolutely exploited every loophole you could find with R+, I was against a wall. I found a balanced trainer and while he was successful in changing my dog by 75%, we talked about e collars.
He said that this would change the entire game. I could have my dream dog. I bit the bullet and decided to try it. While there were a couple tough days in the beginning, my dog finally was submissive.
Now he helps me in my job with walking dogs and being the example. We go off leash (laws permitting) and will never cross streets or doorways without my permission first. And it’s all because of this device.
I won’t go anywhere without this, even if I never have to actually use it. It’s a way for me to communicate with my dog when he’s too far away. **I just ask people to consult with your trainer and learn how to use it correctly.
I have been using this collar on my pet dog for recall and place. It is a jack russell that liked to run out the door and chace groud squirrels. I used a long line with food reward for about 2 weeks before receiving this e-collar.
After about 2 weeks of wearing the e-collar with no stim, I overlayed page+stimulation with the long line and food reward after preforming the behavior. I use this e-collar at level 3 most of the time.
I could not fill the stimulation while e-collar prongs were placed in my hand till level 10. The collar appears to be very well made and should last for years. I like how the remote function is the same as my 1900S to keep thing simple and not have to re learn a controller.
I definitely recommend this e-collar for pet dog owners or those with a smaller working / hunting dog. Dogtra and Ray Allen both put out great products for both my working and pet dog.
I had several correction collars in the past with much success from PetSafe but my most recent one from this company did nothing for my dog nor me. They have cheapened the produce & I really think it was not working most of the time.
BUT SINCE PURCHASING DOGTRA, so worth the $,. I HAVE A NEW DOG!!! Immediately noticed that the product is very substantial, made with high quality. and most of all it is consist & reliable. My high energy, over reactive Black Lab responded immediately at low levels & is now UNBELIEVABLY OBEDIENT!! THANK YOU DOGTRA.
now I enjoy my daily snow shoeing, hiking, spending time in my yard!!! I live in the Great North Woods of Maine, on Moosehead Lake & LOVE not having to put my dog on a leash, which is a real challenge with this dog! I waited several weeks before submitting a review to ensure my shockingly, amazing results did not change.
& they have only gotten better! EXCELLENT PRODUCT, I CAN’T SAY ENOUGH ABOUT THIS PRODUCT!.

Got it for my gsd for that last 10% I need from her, works very well on like 28 for me. I tried it out on my neck first to make sure, I like the lanyard and the setup very sturdy construction all around.
Definitely a professional piece of dog training equipment. I’ve gotten a cheap one before so I know. This one has a case! Much different very happy with it. She knows I have one now so that’s also very good for obedience.
Don’t even need it indoors in the new place, she wouldn’t typically need it outdoors except for going off leash to the park or a bicycle ride or something. Just needed that last 10% so we could have more fun together other places, and my gsd understands that I’m sure.
What’s more cruel a little stimulation to correct unwanted behavior? Or confining a dog to a leash it’s entire life? You tell me. =].
Dogs are our best friends. But our dearest friends can cause problems too, like unwanted barking. The Dogtra YS300 No Bark Collar is a safe alternative to stop unwanted barking. The YS300 is bark sound activated and is made for dogs 10 pounds or larger.
The Sound Recognition Sensor uses a microprocessor to distinguish between the dogs bark and the surrounding ambient noise. The YS300 is the smallest rechargeable No Bark Collar from Dogtra and is packaged in a compact form.
Did the job My neighbours told me that my staffy would bark “uncontrollably” when we weren’t home. She would rarely bark when we were home, usually only if something unusual was happening on the other side of the fence, so we weren’t previously aware that we had a problem.
We bought the DOGTRA YS300 but were a little apprehensive, we didn’t want to hurt her. We tried it first on the vibrate only setting and watched secretly after pretending to leave. We saw her hesitate when she felt the vibration but then go on barking.
We tested the first level of stimulation (interestingly called Level 2) on ourselves and the kids ;P to ensure it wouldn’t cause her pain. It was an unpleasant sensation but not painful (not “ouch”, more “oh”).
We again pretended to leave and saw her bark once, flinch, then stop barking. She tried it a couple more times then not again. I’ve now noticed that while she’ll still run out to investigate an unusual sound, she won’t bark at it (this is while we’re home without the collar on) and I’ve had no more complaints from the neighbours.
The battery lasts well I’ve only charged it once and we’re still going months later. The dog will happily let me put it on her as long as there is a good treat on offer.
Honestly, I was at my wits end. My toy poodle had two behaviourists out. He was on every sort of medication to help with his barking – every long lasting treat – you name it, we did it. Except this. In my mind I was convinced this was awful.
I was wrong. I used this collar once on the vibration setting and that’s all it took. He learnt. We have now completely weaned off medication and he’s an entirely different dog. I needed to be educated this was a better choice than drugs.
They were so right. This collar truly was my last resort before feeling I might need to give him up ( which my heart couldn’t do) We had numerous council complaints. It truly was the only thing I could do.
He’s stopped his nuisance barking, he’s stopped medication and he’s a happy healthy dog Best decision I ever made.
Amazing collar and service! My kelpie constantly barked me at for attention, at people when walking, would pull towards and bark at cars which scared me so much!! 😢 and barked constantly on car rides which also very distressing.
Only had to used the collar a few times, once or twice at home, in the car once and walking once. Now only barks when she hears noises out the front which is rarely (still amazing security dog) Never pulls towards cars or people when we walk and rarely barks for attention (when playing fetch).
And sits perfectly still in the car and just wines when shes excited. They are in no way cruel as she is still her crazy loving self, so happy with this purchase, it’s changed our life!.
The Barkless Pro Bark Collar is a static electric anti-bark collar designed to control barking, howling and whining in small to large dogs above 5kg (including stubborn dogs). The collar has 8 levels of static correction that can be manually set or automatically get stronger.
Fully Waterproof and rechargeable. The collar features an advanced vibration sensor that picks up the vibrations of your dog’s vocal cords as they bark, whine or howl. When the vibration sensor detects the vibration, the collar delivers a momentary static electric stimulation through the contact probes.
With consistent use, your dog will learn not to bark when the collar is on.
With the help from a Bark Control friendly staffer, I actually swapped to this collar from the Sportdog collar (which was absolutely brilliant also until my dachshund decided howling was his new favourite pastime).
This collar is a lot more sensitive to howling and on the high setting will pick up whining also. I loved the sportdog display better, but this one is easy to set up once you read instructions, and there’s also a YouTube video to help.
The static seems quite strong so we leave on lowest setting. And on Medium Sensitivity Function. My mini is 6. 5kg, the collar is a little bulky (most are) but we only have it on him once or twice a week.
This with positive reinforcement training is working well. He’s less stressed, and not getting into a barking frenzy when we leave the house now, which makes me less stressed too as the neighbours had mentioned it nicely ;).
He will now just lay down and wait patiently. A few little barks here n there, but it’s only been a couple of weeks. We are working on this separation anxiety with desensitisation training also with success, but the collar just helps when we can’t be there.
This company is helpful, friendly and understanding, great quality products, and return/replace policy is excellent.
This collar works so well! My obsessive nuisance barker is completely reformed in just a month. It has several settings and I keep it set on the lowest one. That’s all my dog needs to snap out of his obsessive behavior.
It has a Pavlovian tone that you can opt to use or not. I use it because I do like my dog to alert bark but not nuisance bark. This allows him to bark once and if he barks a second time within 5 seconds the tone sounds and he receives the correction.
It can be used without the tone and delay for immediate correction, as well, if you prefer no barking. I did use the test setting to test it on myself and the stim was noticeable but not at all painful.
I like this collar bc it has completely broken my 5 year old dog from obsessively barking at everything that goes by our house. He is able to relax more completely and actually ignores all the outside noises, even other dogs.
This brand, E-Collar Tech, is the best. You really do get what you pay for and this collar is worth every dollar. It is well made and works perfectly. I especially love the counter that keeps track of how many corrections my dog receives.
The first few days he was wearing it he received 10-12! Now he can go days without receiving a single one! I will say it is very important to fit your dog correctly for E-collars. The strap on this one is very adjustable so you’ll be able to get a good fit.
However, you should research what that means if you’ve never used a device like this before.
I bought this hoping it would be an “automatic†alternative to needing to use our e-collar to stop nuisance barking. We’ve found it very hard to adjust the collar to get consistent and appropriate response for barking.
Adjustment for both sensitivity and feedback are difficult to get right. Our dog refused to go down our steps after wearing this collar for a short time because it was activating when he ran down the stairs.
It was traumatic for him. We have pretty much given up on the collar and are using the e-collar. It’s a well made, quality product, but it’s difficult to get it to function in real world use. Don’t waste your money on this product, get a real e-collar with a remote instead.
Choose between 3 harmless modes—beeps (standard), vibration (standard) and 16 levels of safe shock to help you teach your pup to behave well. Has a dual-channel feature, which allows you to train 2 canine companions at the same time! The remote training range of this e-collar is almost 1000FT, so you and your dog can train in your backyard, the park, at the beach and other locations! The collar is sleek, small and lightweight, which is comfortable for Dogs of most sizes.
It weighs just 0. 12 pounds and measures 2. 3″(L) x 1. 4″(W) x 1″(H). The lithium battery is rechargeable and the IPX7 receiver is 100% waterproof. On a single charge, the receiver will last for 11-15 days, while the remote battery will last for over 1 month.
I absolutely love this collar right out of the box, I’ve only had if for about 6 hours, but I am very impressed. I have had probably 20 different brands of training collars, this one is by far the highest quality (seeming) one I’ve had in this price point.
My mom has a $400 one, and I would genuinely compare it to that. The packaging was amazing, the the fabric of the collar and the plastic are all really high-quality, along with the remote. At first I was wishing the remote was smaller, but now that I have it in my hands I’m definitely glad it’s not because it’s really sleek, it’s really lightweight, and I don’t think I’ll lose it (i lose EVERYTHING).
It came connected already and everything was charged 50%, it came with two chargers, I’ll only be using one but I don’t know why they wouldn’t of sent three since both of the collars and the remote use the same one, but like I said I will most likely only use one.
The charger is also just a mini USB so you have it laying around your house for sure, I find that very convenient because I’ve had to buy whole new collars since you can’t buy just the cords with some brands.
I love that it is waterproof as well, my Aussie LOVES water. & I haven’t trained him out of jumping into water whenever he feels because I think it’s cute, I know I’ll probably regret that when he’s older but I use commands whenever he does it so hopefully he catches on.
But regardless, it makes it easier so that he doesn’t jump into water and ruin his collar. My older dog has already been trained to these so he’s immediately transitioned. whereas my puppy is not trained to them, it’s his 1st one that actually works, so it’s not really “working” for him yet.
The range seems really good! So far it’s impressive. However, I would not purchase this if you have a small dog just because even #1 on the vibrate is very strong. The beeper is also decently loud & only has one sound setting.
For me both of these work in my advantage because both of my dogs ignore low vibrations and low beeps. I don’t use the shock setting at all, my dog has always just listened to either beep or vibrate, I haven’t even tested it so I can’t leave a review on that.
(fingers crossed the puppy listens like that). One thing I did notice, is I do think these collars are going to loosen themselves very easily. So I plan to put a snap (or a knot) in my fully grown dogs collar and go ahead and cut it so it can’t make itself too big (leave chunky season room).
And wait until the puppy is fully grown until I do that to his. Both of my dogs slip their collars like pros, on accident it seems, so if you don’t have that issue you might not have to do that. Another thing I noticed is, on my aussie (the puppy) who has his winter coat right now, the prongs for the shock do not reach his skin through the fur at all, I don’t know if that’s important, i don’t use it (yet at least idk), but other collars I’ve had come with multiple length prongs, that are metal.
These prongs are “silicone coated conducting” or something, and they didn’t come with multiple lengths, so I figured it’s worth mentioning. Overall, I genuinely love this collar, it looks really nice & i feel it doesn’t look as “aggressive” as some other options look.
I know it sounds bad, but I get questioned for it all the time & i don’t even use shock so i can’t imagine what others get. The remote is crazy easy to use & fits really well in the hand. It’s also silicone coated so it’s SOFT.
They look really sleek & modern on the dogs, and they are very responsive so far. Fingers crossed this collar holds up for awhile, i will update!!.
So that the correct evaluation score can be applied I am doing two separate reviews of the PATPET Dog Trainers. For many years we had a dog trainer that looked exactly like the PATPET Outdoor Remote Dog Training Collar-1000 meters, but it did not have the PATPET name on it.
It stopped holding a charge but we were so happy with it we bought the PETPAT 1000 meter from Chewey that looked exactly like the one we had. This review is for the PATPET Oudoor Remote Dog Training Collar – 1000 meter range.
This is a very well designed, sturdy, user-friendly unit. It is attractively priced. We only use it in 1 dog mode. The neck strap is very useful and we liked the vertical stacking of the tone, vibrate, shock buttons and the fact that the middle button is yellow (vibrate) for reference.
The different modes were very easy to read with white lettering on black. This unit was tested on a 25 degrees F day on our 10 month old beagle pup Ziggy. You use tone first and this usually gets his attention and corrects the bad behavior.
If he did not respond favorably to tone, vibrate would correct him most of the time. Only occasionally is shock needed. The bad behaviors we corrected for were counter grazing, not coming, and eating outdoor buffet ( rabbit, deer, cat poop, dead animals and who knows what else.
) It allows us to walk him on our property which is loaded with wild animals, without being on a leash. This is impressive for a beagle. We used this PATPET trainer in conjunction with a whistle and Garmin Astral GPS showing us where he was on aerial photos.
(BUT, the Garmin GPS went dead and Garmin can no longer sell or service the GPS so have to spend $1000 on a new Garmin dog tracker. ) We have benches on our 10 miles of trails on which we sit while we let Ziggy run free jumping bunnies, turkey, partridge, deer, and occasionally bears.
If he gets near our property boundary we first blow the whistle in bursts of 3. If he doesn’t head back on the GPS photos I press the tone first, if tone doesn’t turn him vibrate which usually works and if not, the shock when we hear him yelp loudly.
The he hightails it back to where I am. The highest shock level I use is 12. The range for this unit is 1000 meters but I only tried testing the signal through a mixed hardwood/deciduous forest at 185 yards, 300 yards and 475 yards.
But I don’t want my best buddy more than 500 yards from me. All three modes worked fine at these three distances. I highly recommend this unit for controlling bad behavior indoors and outdoors and love that it allows me to walk and let my best bud chase animals and sniff off leash.
The last big problem is how to keep Ziggy from eating outdoor buffet when off leash and out of sight. I have purchased a soft muzzle to try on him for this. AND OH, it can save your pets life, as it did for Ziggy today.
The mail man on my rural mail delivery 55 mpn road stopped to deliver a package that was too big for my mailbox. Ziggy happened to be outside in the yard with me and he ran to the road to greet the mailman.
I pressed tone—Ziggy did not stop. I pressed vibrate—Ziggy did not stop. I pressed shock as he got near the road with a car going at last 55 mph and would have hit him—and Ziggy yelped and stopped dead in his tracks and ran back to me.
THANK YOU PATPET FOR SAVING MY BUDDY ZIGGY’S LIFE.
Recently adopted a 2 yr old female Beagle & 5 yr old male long hair doxie surrendered to city animal control. We’ve had hounds for 30 years and know the breeds very well. These two best buddies had obviously had no training at all.
No house manners, not potty trained, barked and bayed aggressively and incessantly, no socialization w other dogs. Especially troublesome when walking in public. Narrowed down one priority to reduce excessive vocalizing when walking and seeing other dogs.
Have never had to resort to a training collar, so was very hesitant to purchase. But the appeal of having 2 collars operated by same remote and the options of beeps & vibration with shock as a last resort was appealing.
Read directions for set up and charging charging, use of the devices which were user friendly and pretty easy. Very first encounter w a dog 50 yards away w a yip, yap, whine, bay, paired verbal command “shhhh” followed immediately with a zap of vibration mode.
Slight startle and vocalizations stopped immediately. Rewarded w verbal and physical praise. After 7 walks, and a dozen encounters w other dogs, have only had to zap w vibration twice. The vocalization stops immediately.
Now, even in the yard behind a fence, if a whine, a yip, or more than 3 barks happen both hounds become quiet immediately with the command shhhhh. This device has already paid for itself with quick behavior change.
Will likely continue to use the collars when walking for a while until shhhh is effective for distraction. Working diligently on crate training and consistent schedule and routine for house breaking.
Hounds are notorious for being a bit stubborn and willful, but these two are sweet and seem very amenable to learning boundaries. Thanks to PatPet training collars, one aspect of troublesome behavior has been virtually eliminated!! Would not recommend using this device for changing several behaviors all at once, however.
One. behavior at a time. Highly recommend the PatPet – success is well worth the investment.

I was really apprehensive about buying my pup a bark collar but had no choice following council complaints about his barking. I researched thoroughly and found this the best collar on the market as I could control the setting and it seemed the safest and most reliable.
I spoke with the guys in Brisbane who were most helpful and patient with all my concerns/questions and decided to get one. The transaction went smoothly and I was able to pick it up instantly, they were even waiting outside to hand me the collar as there were no parking spots available in the car park at that time of day.
I got the collar home and popped it on my 6mths old pup on the lowest setting. He got used to it very quickly and I could instantly see that it was only a little discomfort for him when he barked. His behaviour corrected within 24 hours and I rarely have to use it now.
I still put it on him irregularly when he gets a bit excited and starts his barking again. It is also easy to use, easy to charge and weatherproof. I would highly recommend Bark Control collars for their product and their excellent service.
Tried others before finding this model. Others had the strange problem of correcting the dog when it wasn’t barking. Wasn’t going to put up with that. This never happens with this model. It also won’t go off if our other dog barks right next to her.
Important note- because our dog is medium sized (with a large bark) and fairly easily discouraged from barking this worked great. When she tries to bark (rarely now) the first mild correction is enough to stop her from continuing.
If there’s something that really scares her or alarms her (this has only happened once so far) she will bark up till about 5-6 then stop and wait 30 seconds then start again. So your experience may vary and the more expensive programmable model might work better.
FYI- first battery lasted 5-6 weeks and that was during her learning phase so lots more barks than now.
Petdiary is our brand. When you are still worried about your dog disobedience, this anti-bark collar can effectively train your dog. There are three training modes: beep, vibration and electric shock, suitable for small and medium-sized dogs.
Unique and accurate bark stop detection and electric shock algorithm, automatic unique and accurate bark stop detection and electric shock algorithm, automatic low false trigger rate, high sensitivity design to improve the trigger effect and make dog training safer.
This product is not 100% waterproof, in order to improve the life of the product to improve the entire life cycle of the product and better training results, the dog needs to shower or swim, please take off the collar.
Environmental noise, dog temperament, breed, size, etc. can affect the barking control effect of the dog, you can try to reduce the sensitivity of the collar to avoid this situation. When you want to try the impact mode, please start with the first gear and gradually increase the gears to let the dog adapt to the mode well and achieve the training effect.
I bought this for my eight-month-old German Shepard pup who has just become more vocal as his hormones kicked in. He would startle in the middle of the night, barking (loudly!) at the slightest sound from outside our house, which meant we weren’t sleeping very soundly (or continuously!).
We live on a farm and have lots of deer coming through our yard in the night, so when our pup went out the back door – any time of day – he would charge out barking, whether the deer were there or not.
When he was out in the yard, he barked at birds flying by, grasshoppers flying by, vehicles passing on the road by our farm. It was becoming intolerable. We want him to be protective of our farm but with good reason.
As soon as the collar was charged up, I put it on him and let him out of the house. He ran out barking, as usual but was stopped in his tracks by the beeping and immediately found a shady spot and lay down, without another peep from him the rest of the day.
That night I thought I’d try him without the collar but as soon as we turned out our bedroom light, he gave out his usual clarion call. I checked to make sure there was nothing outside for him to bark at and then put the collar on him, and he was quiet the rest of that night.
The next night, I just put the collar right on him and went to bed. Not long after, he started growling, so I turned on the outside lights and checked all around the house – again, nothing. Then he gave a couple of low woofs – a good “inside voice” alarm, for which the collar did not correct him – and then a sharp, loud bark.
I heard the collar beep at him, and he was quiet again for the rest of the night. That was pretty much it. My husband puts the collar on him when he lets the pup out first thing in the morning, but I don’t think even that is necessary because he hasn’t barked without reason since those first two nights.
Wow! And all without being mean! I know shock collars have their uses buts I didn’t think it would be necessary in this case, and the Petdiary collar was perfect – a great too! Now if I could just get one of these on my neighbor’s little yapper.
Our dogs have been barking up a storm at neighbors, even our more quite dog since we moved. We have a lab and a beagle, and that beagle can how at 6am. So out of curtesy to our neighbors we experimented with these extremely cheap collars.
We are so happy we did, they provide a vibration and our dogs stop. Now even when friends come over they bark once or twice and they stop. It’s only been 3 weeks and they are FAR better behaved than ever.
We have stuck with the vibration setting, the combination of the beep + the vibration is amazing and our dogs are now just quite most of the time. I would say the barking as decreased by 75% with these collars, the change was almost immediate.
They even jump less when people come over! With this price, you just can’t beat this collar.
I have a golden doodle and two poodles. All bark no matter what, a small knock, someone at the door, someone driving by, cat walks by the window, any of us who live in the home come in the door to the house or the bedroom where they are at.
They go nuts barking and it’s a lot of yelling telling them to hush, quiet, shhhhhhhh. It was so frustrating, especially bc I work from home and when the Grandbaby is over napping. I have tried coins in a can, the canned stop bark, fly swatter 🙂 I smack it in the desk and show it to them.
I got these collars 2 days ago and I have them on the lowest setting. I can not believe how well they work!! They have calmed down so much it is absolutely incredible!! They may get a bark out and then they know it beeps they going to get weird vibrations they don’t like.
Smart updates on the SportDOG SBC-R No-Bark Collar will make this the go to bark collar for all dogs over 8 pounds. With 3 fully custom correction modes and 10 adjustable levels of correction, you can program the anti-bark collar to a training mode that’s suitable to your dog’s barking behavior.
Choose between the User-Select, Progressive Correction and Temperament Learning modes. User-Select Mode-lets you manually choose the correction level. Progressive Correction Mode-Corrections start on the lowest level and increase in strength each time your dog barks within 30 seconds of the last bark.
Reset to lowest level when dog stops barking. Temperament Learning-Corrections start on the lowest level and increase in strength each time your dog barks within 30 seconds of the last bark. The collar remembers the last level used and if the barking starts again the first correction starts at the last level used.
Advanced digital technology allows for better bark detection and reduces over correction. This reduces the risk of the collar being triggered by another barking dog or similar sound within the area. For added safety, the bark collar has an automatic shut-off feature to prevent over correction.
If your dog barks more than 15 times in 80 seconds the device shuts off for 30 seconds then resumes normal operation.
The Dogtra ARC has a maximum range of 1200m, suitable for basic yard work up to mid-long range. The ARC system has 127 levels of low to medium output and is suitable for mild – medium temperament working and companion dogs.
Fully rechargeable and waterproof, with the IPX9K waterproof rating. The collar receiver weighs only 136g including the strap and fits dogs from 7. 5kgs. The lightweight, waterproof handheld transmitter is designed for ease of use with a smooth turning rheostat dial and LCD display showing the current correction level.
This training color is the next generation of compact training and beeper collars, designed for the serious upland hunter. The beeper horn is built into the receiver and eliminates the bulky horn that sits on top of your dog’s head like other beeper units.
It features three beeper modes – “Run and Point”, “Point Only”, and “Locate”. Features high and low tone beeper.
The device is well built and has a great battery life. Otherwise, i would not recommend it. Firstly, I did a direct comparison test with a 1/2 mile Educator device and the range is the same as the Dogtra and controller is better.
The Dogtra controller has only one functional pager button which is on front of remote, but it is not programmable to be replaced. Also, device doesn’t have light or tone which makes it easier to test the device and find the dog.
The new handheld square is not really functional at all due to low signal strength and range so I won’t use that as a functional feature (although great idea for a second controller). There are definitely more functional units out there.
Feature: One dog system with 1/2 mile range Small receiver (2′′x1. 5′′x1′′, 2. 4 oz) for dogs 5 pounds and larger Mini ergonomic “stopwatch” transmitter (2. 64′′ diameter x 1. 29′′ thick) is well-suited for small hands or in situations where discreetness is important Delivers a tapping sensation similar to vibration, but more intense, making it an effective addition to the stimulation User-selectable stimulation levels from 1 to 100 with additional boost stimulus selectable from 1 to 60 Includes two sets of contact points (5/8′′ and 3/4′′) Lithium-polymer rechargeable batteries with dual charger; 2-hour full charge, The Educator 1 Dog Mini Remote Training Collar ET-300 is a 1/2 mile range trainer that is especially made for smaller hands or for situations where discreetness is important.
Utilizing “Lock and Set” technology, lithium polymer rechargeable batteries, waterproof floating remote, and waterproof receiver, the remote provides a very clean stimulation without the normal head jerking motion often found in other training collars.
Includes one waterproof miniature collar receiver, one waterproof miniature floating remote, one Biothane collar, two sets of contact points (5/8′′ and 3/4′′), contact point removal tool, dual battery charger (120V/220V) with a 2-hour full charge, owner’s manual with training tips, lanyard for the remote and color storage box.
I feel the price is way to high but I do really like this product. I purchased this after I went through six or seven different E collars ranging in price from $30-$70 and none of them meeting my needs, expectations, or the dog chewing them up.
This one is expensive and I think it should be $50 cheaper because after tax and shipping it comes out to be $190. 00 anyways it works great so far and I’ve only had it a day. I watched a few trainers use this same one and it comes highly recommended for stubborn dogs.
It’s really not that complicated to use, watch Larry krohn on YouTube he has a video showing you how to set this up. The contact points on this collar is longer than any other collar we have ever had which is perfect because I have a German shepherd and his fur normally keeps other collars from doing their job.
It has many different settings and I love that it has a light on the collar and I think even the remote as well so I can see my dogs in the dark. There is no annoying button on the collar to press. You just press the button on the remote to turn the remote on then line up a red dot with the red dot on the collar touch it together and the collar comes on.
I have not experienced the annoying auto shut off so I don’t think it does that. I plan to update my review after having it longer than a day but for now it’s a great buy and it’s true you should never go cheap on an e collar UNLESS you have a very low maintenance small dog then your probably okay on getting a cheap collar.
I have two adorable, but untrained doodle pups. My youngest, a two year old Aussiedoodle is an excessive barker when people come to the door and when he sees other dogs and squirrels during our walks.
I purchased the two-dog mini educator and it honestly has been a miracle worker on my Aussiedoodle. He gets excited when I put the collar on him because he knows it is time to work for treats. I noticed a drastic improvement after day one of using thus YouTube videos techniques – Proper and humane e collar training for any dog by Larry Krohn.
I have only used this collar with POSITIVE REINFORCEMENT – this is key!! I purchased this now a week ago and I have barely had to press a button. I use a 9 level on him and you can barley feel it on a humans hand.
Make sure to always have training treats on hand. I see a lot of the negative reviews referencing that its not a bark collar, very true. But with the correct training and work from the owner and the dog this can effectively train a dog not to bark.
My human got this for me because I’m very independent and I don’t see why I need to do what he says all the time. He got the comfort attachment because I have a thick double coat. I’ve seen the number on the yellow thing, it’s a ‘6’.
My human tried this on as well and it was like he couldn’t even feel it! This helps me understand that when he says ‘Ivy here’ I need to go to him. Or when we’re walking, I should stay at his side and not lunge at rabbits or other dogs.
He seems very happy with me and I’ve only worn it twice!. Ivy’s human here! This is an amazing tool. It is not a ‘shock’ collar. It is a communication device. It is no different than popping the leash or pushing on a dog’s rear to get them to sit.
This tool just gives you much more and consistent control. Ivy’s working level is between 6-10 out of 100, depending on how many distractions are in our training environment. I can just barely feel it starting at 8.
Ivy’s recall drastically improved in just one session. The same with her heeling. The prong collars are great, but this is a massive step up. I strongly recommend training with one, especially if you have an independent breed like a Husky.
E-collar with remote beeper built in. Perfect for the serious upland hunter and bird dog trainer. The Delta Upland XC remote training system from Garmin uses proven Tri-Tronics technology and is 3 devices in one.
It combines beeper capability with an easy-to-use remote dog trainer and built-in BarkLimiter. Upland’s beeper features include your choice from 4 hunt sounds so you can hear your dog on the move or can run silent, and 2 sounds to indicate your dog is on point.
The beeper even has a locate feature for the hunter who wants an audible update on a dog’s position, even when the beeper is running silent.
Bought the Delta XC couple of years ago and had no luck getting my stubborn dog to respond. Finally out of frustration I hired a qualified trainer to get this dog’s reactive aggression under control.
Told the trainer that I had one of these after the first session where the dog was not giving into our will. Trainer took the time to educate how it works and why. Helped us set it up and we began using this as a tool to get compliance.
It really hasn’t taken long to get the dog to understand the command, the mild correction (2-4 setting), and the treat or no treat for compliance. The dog is by no means perfect, but barking can now be controlled with command and either tone or small correction.
Dog recall is much improved as before the dog would not come when called. Now, call once. If no response, call a 2nd time and add a minor correction and the dog returns to me immediately.
I was very optimistic about finally making the decision to move forward with a shock collar and this one came well recommended by our trainer. So I bit the bullet (and high price tag) and bought 2, one for each of our barkers.
While they work well with the hand held remote the auto bark function does not work as it should, particularly with our medium size dog. It just doesn’t seem to be triggered by their barking, Even though I have it so tight that it makes me cringe.
I also had our groomer shave under their necks and am using the longer prongs. So bottom line is, As a training to it works well but as a bark collar it doesn’t.
We’ve been using our Garmin Delta Sport XC for quite some time now, and it’s been working pretty much flawlessly. Sometimes our GSP reacts more, as though she’s more sensitive to the static signal, but then she’s a stubborn dog that *wants* a stronger signal than most dogs.
She usually responds best at 13-High. (She’s trained to the collar as a signal for the most part, not so much as a “correction. ”) The dogs wear their collars every day from wake-til-bed without issue.
The remote’s signal strength seems to be at least 1/2-mile through heavily wooded terrain, so it’s lived up to our expectations.
This rugged, compact dog-barking collar is a humane and effective way to control barking, keeping the peace for pet owners and their neighbors, and it is adjustable to meet the needs of your dog’s particular temperament.
Replaceable, rechargeable LI-ION batteries, included. Waterproof and submersible. 10 levels of stimulation. 3 modes of operation. Imported.
PetSafe Remote Trainer Dog Collar, 900-yd, Standard; Looking for a hands-on training option for a close range? The PetSafe 100 Yard Lite Remote Trainer is paw-fect! This short-range trainer is ideal for training on or off leash.
Simply put the collar on your dog, and use the remote control to control the stimulation. The remote is designed to be ergonomic, comfortably fitting in the palm of your hand, and features an easy-to read large display.
Both the remote and collar are durable, long-lasting, and waterproof—so you can train in any weather, worry-free! This lite version is great for smaller dogs since it has slightly lower levels of stimulation.
We have had this PetSafe 300 for a couple of years now. It most definitely works in the 300 yard area. It is also very tough! It has survived several playful Corgis, and is now on a very rambunctious German Shepard.
We really like the many selections you have with this trainer, from low to high. The hand held remote battery seems to last forever between charges, but the collar not so long. We seem to only get two days worth out of a charge at the most, which is why I can’t give it a full 5 star rating.
I would give it 4. 5 starts if that was possible. Overall we would definitely buy again. We are looking to get another collar so the other can charge while one is on the rambunctiously large German Shepard puppy.
We have been training our husky with this collar. He has been known to run in the past, so I was hopeful this would work. He had it on the other evening when my husband took him out – and when it appeared that he was getting ready to run, my husband was able to get his attention AND keep him from taking off with this collar.
Pretty impressive. He seems excited to get it put on him, as he knows it means he will be off leash. I am hopeful that we will be able to totally use this as his collar for outdoors in the near future.
The only downside about the product that I can see, is the fact that the remote never turns off, even when you turn the collar off. Not sure why that would be – but that’s the case. The instructions with the collar even tell you that the remote never turns off.
So far the battery has been ok, but I would think if we were to use this every day for a while, with leaving the remote on constantly we would be changing batteries a lot. Other than that – all good for us with this product!.
I’ve had my collar about four months now. I tested the product on myself the first day and it worked fine. About a month later my pet stopped responding to the training collar. I tested it on myself again and found it was only transmitting intermittently at best.
This was while the collar was fully charged. Now it does not work at all. Both collar and remote are fully charged and displaying all the right indicators, but no shock is produced. This isn’t the first time I’ve had problems with this brand, but I gave them another try on this product because they’re the cheapest at my local big-brand pet store.
Now it’s clear to me *why* they’re the cheapest. You get what you pay for. Do not buy this product!.
The Premier Pet Spray Bark Collar utilizes new patented spray technology that effectively deters barking with a gentle burst of spray. With its unique sensor technology, it ensures no other noises besides your dog’s barking will activate the spray.
The easy-to-use, spill-free, recyclable cartridge refills make this anti-bark collar revolutionary. The collar works with Premier Pet Unscented or Citronella Spray Refills.
I like how it is highly adjustable and easy to clean. you also plug it into a USB charger cord to charget it up. The charge lasts awhile too. And when it needs charged up again a yellow light blinks to tell u to charge it.
Very convient. Only problems I had with it was that it wouldn’t stay in the exact spot it needed to over the dogs voicebox. It was on not too tight and not to loose but my dog somehow got it to move to the side.
The spray that comes from it is a short strong burst of the fragrance. I used citronella first so then I could tell if it had worked right. The scent only last a few seconds in the air. There is also no fragrance scent thing too.
I think as far as how effective it is a hit or a miss. It does not go off with those low barks I noticed. Or the short little barks. Like the barks they do when they think they hear something but there is nothing.
Yeah didn’t work or my dog. It did work the few times she did a full on bark though. But I think she outsmarted it because she just wouldn’t do her loud powerful bark anymore and just quieter ones. And let’s just say if the little box thing isn’t exactly in the spot it needs to be it doesn’t work right.
We also had a few mishaps with it going off randomly when I was fixing it. Honestly my dog isn’ a Huge barker. But the older she gets she doe’s bark more than she used to at certain things. But she will she top barking with or without the spray collar.
Overall it is a decent product! It does work when it wants to work.
Good Bark Collar So I wanted to wait to try this on my pet for 2 weeks before I wrote a review for this bark Collar. So my dog Princess barks constantly when put outside to use the bathroom and I could never find a product that would stop her from barking at our 2 neighbors.
So I received this in the mail and put it on Princess right then. She felt comfortable in it which was nice. This bark collar stops her from barking and I am so thankful. The neighbors are very happy now I am sure that they do not hear barking.
This is good, safe, and not like them harmful shock collars that hurt your pets so that’s a plus! Would recommend to your dogs. It only puts out a mist if the dog barks and it is safe to use! I will be buying this again if I need to.
I also recommended to friends and my family with dogs.
I’ve never tried anything to keep our dogs from barking. At the beginning of the year we moved to a busy neighborhood and the barking is constant. It drives us crazy. I was all for a safe way to detur barking and happy to try this collar.
I did some trouble getting it to work. I ended up going to the company website and watched their videos. That was very helpful and I recommend doing that if you run into anything. The other issue I’ve had is that the collar keeps moving so unless it’s right under the dogs nose he doesn’t notice it.
I’ve tightened it as much as I am comfortable and feel my dog is comfortable. It took us both some learning but it is helping. As long as I make sure it hasn’t moved. I think over time he will stop barking at every little thing.
I would like to get one for our other dogs too. I would recommend it.
There are many reasons to use a dog training collar with bark control. Perhaps you have a dog that barks excessively, and you want to find a way to control the problem. Maybe you have a dog that is afraid of loud noises, and a bark collar can help to train them to be less afraid.
Or, maybe you simply want to find a way to keep your dog from barking excessively when you’re not home. Whatever the reason, a bark collar can be a helpful tool in training your dog.
There are a few things to keep in mind when using a dog training collar with bark control. First, it’s important to find a collar that is comfortable for your dog to wear. You don’t want to use a collar that is too tight or too loose, as this can cause discomfort or even injury.
Second, you’ll need to find a collar that is specifically designed for dogs that bark excessively. There are many different types of bark collars on the market, so it’s important to do your research to find the right one for your dog.
Finally, it’s important to remember that bark collars are not a cure-all for excessive barking. They can be a helpful tool in training your dog, but they should not be used as a replacement for positive reinforcement and other forms of training.
If you’re having trouble training your dog with a bark collar, it’s important to consult with a professional trainer or behaviorist to find other ways to help your dog learn.
