20 Best Brace For Lower Back Pain (2022 Updated)

Ws looking for a supportive brace that I could wear when handling heavy items around the house. The brace I purchased from BraceAbility was perfect. You get a nice, supportive fit and it’s very comfortable.

Regarding sizing. I measured 40″ at the belly button so, per the site’s sizing information I was on the border of getting an XL or an L. I order the XL and found that I was unable to get it as tight and secure as I wanted so I returned it for the L.

The L works perfectly. In addition, the return process was simple and extremely quick for me to get the different size. Kudos to BraceAbility all around!.

It would be helpful if you had a size waist chart on you’re website. I ordered the wrong size at first and had to re order a smaller size to match up the Velcro. Besides that, the belt really did away with all the pain from back spasms which I have.

I honestly didn’t expect a Walmart back brace to improve my quality of life so much, but I am broke and desperate and waiting until March for an appointment. The hot/cold pack that fits in the little pocket in the back is amazing.

I love the “finger pockets” on the edge of the straps for easier adjustments and less torso twisting when I put it on. This little back brace has allowed me to sleep and walk, and even go out to the bar with WAY LESS pain as I’m waiting for my neurology appointment.

I am Extremely happy! I got my brace on sale but I feel it’s totally worth the full price. Sending good vibes to anyone reading this.

buy it! quality material and make. very supportive. can put in hot/cold gel pad and it comes with it. Back and side solid supports inside. Easy to buckle up. Can tighten as much as you want.

This is incredible instant relief to lower back n midsection plus like a waist trainer too I had on twice already today without cool pad then tonight with cool pad then kept on to exercise thanks Walmart.

Really helps with lower back pain. Very adjustable. It not a tall as it appears in the picture, but it is taller then what you would get if you were using one from motorcycle store. Motor cycle ones are primarily for kidney support, this one is more lower back support.

This is by far the best back support I have ever used. I have tried many different designs. They are mostly stiff and uncomfortable. This is not. I barely know i have it on and can easily wear it all day with no irritation.

Its not bulky and does not show under my shirt. I wear a tank top and put the support over the tank. I have had numerous back surgeries from herniated discs and ddd and have titanium cages at 3 levels.

This support helps me function on a daily basis. I LOVE IT! It has literally changed my daily ability to function.

I endorse this product. I have arthritis in my lower back and things like riding and gardening exacerbate it. I use this back support when I ride, mow, drag the pastures and when I garden. It worked so well for me I ordered one for my husband as well.

It has done the job for him too, particularly when doing a lot of lifting. The only negative is that you sweat a lot under the brace and don’t realize it until you take it off. I guess that’s what they mean by “moist heat therapy” in the description! It doesn’t take away from the usefulness of this product and I highly recommend it.

Bought this in place of full umbrella replacement – what a great deal! Plus the goldish-brown original color fades and softens a bit to a rich tan – very attractive and actually even better than new! Mine got caught in the major wind and tore, but even then, the top held up very, very well.

I’m ordering replacement for the replacement, just can’t beat this deal!.

This brace is perfect to assist w/ lifting heavy loads or vacuuming, providing strong support. Not sure I bought the right size though. I went by measurements but I think I could have used a smaller sz.

I had a previous mask, but it was filled with seeds and I had a sensitivity to it. This one is fine and heats up much quicker than the previous one. It hasn’t cured anything, but I find it to be very soothing.

This back brace is AWESOME. I’ve had problems w/my back forever and have tried everything (including other braces, even very expensive medically prescribed ones) and this one beats everything, hands down! It gives great support and allows you to move around and do things while it’s on -in fact I use it even before my back hurts just to give me support while I’m doing things and it’s prevented me from hurting my back and from my back hurting.

My mom’s back hurt on Christmas Eve (from cooking and cleaning and everything you do for the holiday) and I took my brace over for her to try—needless to say—she loved it and now I have to buy another one for myself today (day after Christmas) -I really wanted one yesterday but no one was open–so I’ve printed my coupon (thanks!) and am off to the local drugstore to get my new back brace.

Awesome. I’d give it 10 stars if I could. I should have bought more when they had a buy-one-get-one-free sale, I almost did and regret that I passed that up. You will LOVE this brace, it’s totally adjustable for any kind of support, it has removable lumbar pads (which I removed during the 1st time I wore it, I wasn’t into the pads but they may work for you), it offers the best support, you can make it tighter or wear it looser, and I especially love how tight you can make it (tighter than any other I’ve ever tried, which makes me feel so supported and even as tight as I can make it I can still sit, bend, etc.

) it doesn’t chafe, it hasn’t made me sweaty (I’ve had braces that did, ick) it doesn’t cut into you or otherwise “bother” you while you are wearing it–I’ve often worn mine from morning ’til night, sometimes forgetting to take it off until bedtime.

One time I slept in it, when my back was killing me but I’m not recommending that, just saying I did it once and it did really help. This back support brace is the best thing that ever happened to my back 🙂 I cannot give a high enough recommendation for this product, if I could invest in it I would, that’s how much I believe in it—it’ll save your back and allow you to still do all the things you need to do as life happens.

Awesome. Oh and you can actually wear it under your clothes and it really doesn’t stick out or make you look huge or bulky (it’s actually pretty amazing in that respect as well) so no worries about looking “large”, you can easily wear this under any of your “normal” clothes and you won’t look huge and your clothes won’t be too tight.

I can’t think of anything bad to say about this brace. And no I don’t work for anyone associated with it :).

I’m use a back brace to help me recover from a weakness on my left side that pulls my body in a twist, and becomes painful late in the day. When I put this brace on, it supports my back, so I can focus on keeping my core on my left side engaged so my posture can straighten.

I need like this brace best, because it spreads lumbar support over a large surface area. Other lumbar supports aren’t tall enough to provide support for the back and the abdominals that assist with good posture.

The lumbar pads are terrific. I only take them out when they get in the way of sitting in a chair that provides similar support! I have a 27″ waist, so the inside end of the brace (without the velcro) tends to slip out and bunch up on my hip crease, I eventually took the brace in (I’m a seamstress, it was easy to do.

I saved the seam-binding and put it back on where I’d cut it) and added velcro on the inside end, which stopped the slipping problem, but I couldn’t find any of the soft kind of velcro, which means the inside velcro is a bit stiff.

I wish Futuro would 1. put that soft type of velcro on the internal side to prevent the long, unfastened end from slipping out, and 2. make a smaller size, so there is less belting to slip and hang out of the front when tightened in the first place!.

I pulled a back muscle a few days prior to purchasing this. I could not even stand up straight, like looked like the letter S. After putting this on I was able to stand better, have better posture and reduced the pain in my back.

Yes it does block your belt and top of your pants, it’s a back support. I don’t know what others are complaining about. that’s where it is supposed to go, around your lower back. I would recommend for back issues and better posture.

One size fits most? This wouldn’t fit 90% of your typical Walmart shoppers! Says goes to 50in, but I’m pretty sure you’re risking organ damage. It’s 44in overall. but it has Velcro fastening which needs a good couple inches overlap.

That’s stretching the main belt 20% before even attempting to secure the tightening straps. There’s no expansion panel included like with many of these smaller one-size belts, and it wouldn’t do you any good as the tightening straps are meant to fasten together instead of fastening anywhere along the belt, like on better models.

Other than possible sizing issues, this seems a pretty standard belt. 8 – 1cm x 17cm (< 7in) non-removeable, flexible ribs give some additional support at the center, but I'd hardly describe it as Support Level: Maximum.

Maybe they mean it’s their maximum, because I’ve used better braces. I’m not sure why a picture of a Pharmacist and his kid would convey “trusted leader in sports medicine” since 1959, so I’m less-likely to trust the claims on the box.

So I got a copper fit one with all the bells and whistles (with the plastic insert and the hot/cold pack) and it was very bulky and uncomfortable and not easy to wear under your clothes and with the plastic insert I could never get it to fit right and it made it difficult to sit and stand up.

So I bought this cheaper one and it is 100x more comfortable and the stabilizers make it easy to fit it just where you need it as well as you can wear a shirt over it no problem. I must have slept wrong because I started to have lower back pain and down left leg then made it worse helping move a large heavy wood dresser up a flight of stairs to the point I literally couldnt even stand up straight or walk normal and any wrong movement resulted in severe pain.

With this I can walk normal again and pain is less (although still there a bit with the wrong movements) but since the back support isnt as strong you can still have movement enough where you might feel it at times.

I will be wearing it until the pain subsides and I can do without it and definitely will wear it if I plan to be on my feet or doing any sort of work that might tweak my back in the future.

I think back brace is a great product. If you wear it directly on your skin, it doesn’t move as much. Just make sure you line up the velcro material so it doesn’t cut into your skin. That can be painful.

I’ve used it while playing tennis and it does give me the compression I need. I do wear it over a shirt and it tends to move a little. I just re-strap it and I’m good to go. I’d felt so good about the first back brace I’d bought, so I’d bought another one as a back-up.

I don’t wear the brace all day long. Just usually when I’m at work or when I feel like I need compression. I don’t want to have to rely on it. But ever since I’ve started using it, I don’t feel like I need to take any motrin for my back.

I think I’d just needed something for help straight my back for posture.

I found the product to be well made and it inflates and functions as it supposed to. There can be many reasons for back pain and I’m not saying it wont help you, but it is useless for me. My back pain is in my lower back, the belt goes around your waist and middle back.

If you try to put it lower and then tighten it, it cannot tighten properly because of the anatomy of the body, your hip bones are in the way. This is the same thing as the Dr. Ho belt, which sounds wonderful on the tv commercials, which is why I bought it, but it just doesn’t work.

At all. I don’t recommend it, especially if your pain is in the lower back.

This is a very solid option for a lumbar back brace. The hospital will send you home from lumbar surgery with a monsterously large back brace that immobolizes your back but offers just so-so actual support.

I tried a slim version of the hospital brace that I liked better. I like this brace better than the 2 expensive braces. However, I interchange wearing this brace with a $30 CopperFit back brace that looks invisible under my shirt.

Anyone who suffers from Spinal Stenosis with bulging discs knows the debilitating pain that comes with it. After inflating the belt for the first time I felt a near immediate relief of pain. This belt has changed my life, I wear it for 20-30 minutes after waking up and I’m pain free for a large part of the day providing I don’t twist or turn the wrong way.

best investment I’ve made in a long time. After using it for a few weeks I was pleased to find that the pump and belt are of a very good quality and both are very easy to use. I’m now thinking of looking into something similar for my neck.

I have a history of Subluxed vertebrae in my lower back, which means my vertebrae pop out of alignment (really painful!!) and after a bad fall off my horse, my back has just been terrible. I was at my local Greenhawk and saw the back brace so I decided to try it and honestly, it was one of the best decisions I’ve ever made.

I’ve noticed a difference, my coach has noticed a difference in my position and my chiropractor has noticed a difference (because I don’t have to see him as much haha). This brace had me go from feeling like (and walking like) an 80 year old with a bad back, to the 16 year old that I am who now doesn’t have to say “I can’t do that because my back is sore” I would totally recommend the back brace and all BOT products (I’m saving up for a knee brace for myself and some hock boots for my mare because I love these products so much).

I have back trouble that’s exacerbated by riding. Since I don’t plan on giving up riding anytime soon, I tried this. It does offer good low-profile support. You can wear it under clothes with its showing very much.

When you measure for size, keep in mind where you want to wear the brace. I bought it to fit my waist but really need it on my lower back. Fortunately my hips aren’t very wide, but it could have been a problem.

Honestly was a little skeptical upon the purchase of the back brace for my equestrian daughter, age 20. However it has proven multiple times to provide relief for minor back strains, pulls or just fatigue.

She also waitresses and has worn it to work for support. Would recommend for anyone who needs a little extra support in their core.

I’ve tried literally dozens of braces over the past decade and have found only two that work well for me for regular wear. This Vive brace is one of them. But the sizing is strange. I’m using a small which just barely fits.

The large is almost twice the size and way too large. I wish they made a middle size. But otherwise this brace gives firm support, it stays in place throughout daily activities, yet it is lightweight and relatively comfortable for extended wear.

The only other brace I like is a very similar design made by another company. I do especially like that the Vive comes in light gray and is thin enough to be worn under clothing if desired.

I just received my Vice back brace in the mail. I have a scoliosis and a spinal fusion. My last 3 vertebrae are not fused on my lower back so they take a lot of abuse and I can no longer stand up straight and work after about 3 hours.

I slump forward and my back is in constant pain. I just put on my back brace and the pain relief was instant. I am standing straight without pain. So thankful for this brace! Love it!.

The back brace is comfortable and well made and absolutely provides very good support, moreso than other brands I’ve used over the years. I agree with many of the other noted comments that the sizing is not ideal.

I’m right at the outer range of the small (34″ waist) and it’s snug, good support but snug. 2″ more in length would for the small would provide more comfort for the range it lists. Customer service regarding order is very good.

I wake up every day with lower back pain. I have many Ace Brand Braces but this is my first Ace Brand Adjustable Back Brace. As soon as I get out of bed, I put this brace on to help support my lower back.

This back brace is adjustable so it can fit different shapes and forms. It fit me perfectly. The support level of this back brace is a 2. This means the back brace provides support and stabilization to help prevent re-injury and relieve symptoms associated with strains, sprains and repetitive stress injuries.

I like the design of the back brace. It does not slip nor does it bunch around my torso. This back brace not only provides comfortable support but it permits full range of motion. The back brace has mesh panels to release excess heat and allow for perspiration transfer.

The wear instructions were very useful. Not only were there directions but there were also picture instructions.

This was recommended by a neuro surgeon. It does do what it says – gives you support so that you hurt when you bend in any direction. But keep in mind, it is 2 layers so it does get hot! So wear a T-shirt underneath so that you your skin does not get itchy and sweaty too much.

Also, at first when you tighten the second layer, your back feels so good but remember not to tighten the second layer too much as it will become restrictive and uncomfortable. I usually wear the brace about 2-3 hours at a time.

It is very helpful.

I tried to move a 15 inch thick King size mattress by myself because I was too stubborn to wait for my husband. Been in pain for 3 days. Ordered this with 2 day delivery and what a relief when it arrived! the compression is definitely helping.

I’ve only had it on for a few hours so I can’t really say as to whether or not it gets you sweaty underneath when doing physical things. But I would kind of think that any kind of brace or anything like this would get sweaty after a while.

This one is probably a bit cooler than others due to the mesh.

Advancing age and Covid-19 aches and pains combined to leave me nearly unable to move, much less walk. After 3 days of immobility I managed to drive a couple of blocks to the drug store and purchase the Futuro back brace pictured on this website.

I cannot overstate the efficacy of this product – immediately upon donning the brace for the first time, I was nearly pain-free and able to resume normal activities and a normal life. After a few days of wearing the brace, my lower back was able to heal itself somewhat and thus now I only need to wear it when I have pain.

Usually once or twice a week for a few hours each time, I rarely have to wear the brace for an entire day, but now I don’t lift nuthin’ for nobody, not even myself! The brace is available for less than half the price advertised here, but I would have gladly paid 3 times what I paid because the relief that this product provides is priceless.

I previously tried a different brand back support that felt uncomfortable so I decided to give this one a try. This one is very comfortable while providing excellent support. It’s highly adjustable between the two main Velcro straps and the additional smaller ones on each side for a custom fit.

Mine arrived in a lovely gray color which is an added bonus as I thought it only came in white which would discolor quickly with regular daily use. I’m extremely happy with this back support and highly recommend it.

Everything about this Futuro back brace is just right for me! The width of the belt is wide enough to be supportive & means that where the front comes together it never feels like it’s cutting or digging into my waist.

Cold packs help me a lot & and this is the first back brace that lets me cinch the pack against my lower back even when I’m standing – I used to have to press my back against a chair or the bed to really get the relief only a cold pack could provide.

I’m sure it would work just as well with heat. But be sure to ask questions: There are many small variations of this brace – so even though the size & pictures look identical – it’s easy to get a version slightly different than the one that’s right for you.

Have been very used to wearing back braces over the years after my back surgery. However just found out about this company from my grandson. He had an ACL operation recently and was using there knee brace.

He advised me to try the back brace as my back was always giving me issues after standing for long times. I received the back brace about 3 weeks ago and have been wearing it while doing me regular workouts and daily home duties.

The brace is very comfortable and tight even when moving up and down. It never slips or comes undone and I must say it has really helped me. I done have the chronic annoying back pain I used to have and I’m certainly seeing a differance in my overal mobility.

Its early stages, but the product seems high qualty over my previous ones and is competitively priced. So far so good. Good product fairly priced and high quality fabric. I would recommend this product to anybody that has back pain.

I have serious lower back pain. I did some research and brought a Bauerfeind Lumbotrain Lady to help protect my lower back and reduce the pain whilst working. It works! It immediately reduces my lower back pain when wear it on.

Excellent support given for lower back issues. Have had back surgery and find this to have assisted with my recovery and prevention during a normal days activities and when playing sport. Easy to wear and very comfortable under cloths.

I purchased this support brace for my daughter. She really likes the fact that she can pull it as tight as she wants for support. I have one like it, that is why I purchased one for my daughter. This is the only back brace I will use as it meets all my needs to help with a back that has had surgery and has been overused for many years of lifting and straining.

I have a few cinchers and not only are they very uncomfortable but very hot so I would not wear them. This cincher is exactly like the genie cincher you get on TV or online. They make you get two and pay shipping for both even through both com in same box.

So this was so much cheaper as I only need one, The double elastic strap makes this so much easier to put on, is cooler, flexible so I can wear all day without major discomfort, The bottom line is I have lost stomach size so i wil keep wearing it.

bought this after seeing all around width. supports back and front when lifting. love this thing. bought another one! my back is much better since using this.

I bought this product for my husband when he suffer some very bad months with backache. An MRI was inconclusive so he was left with no hope of a cure, which is NOT a good feeling. However this belt (which was my idea and not the doctors) together with pain killers has made his life bearable again.

Theres now hope. He have tried some other belts too, but this one has the best grip at the front and the best support at the back. We highly recommend this belt support over all the others!.

I find the brace to be very comfortable and extremeally supportive for me. I am recovering from a five level fusion and three decompressions surgery which went terribley wrong and resulted in two further operations and a removal of all fusion hardware, so it was important for me to be religious in wearing the brace everyday.

I was sent the wrong size, an extra size up to my order, but because it was bigger I could still use it. It does get quiet warm in it during the day so I think in warmer weather it would be very uncomfortable and sweaty.

I think colour wise the neon green is awful and with the black can prevent you wearing certain colours and clothes so I also have a flesh coloured one from Boots which is lighter and more user friendly fashion wise it defo not as supportive as the Medi brace.

I wish the right size had been sent and the colour options better as I will need a brace for a long time and I would continually like to be able to have this one. This is the best I have used but the worst in a fashion sense so you would need to have a back up.

Since purchasing this product my back has improved greatly. The product itself is well made. The straps hold really well and once set it is so comfortable. I do live in it rightly or wrongly but as no cure for my problem this particular support is 100% brilliant to help me.

I cant praise it enough. Well worth the 25 as it is dearer than most but for good reason. I also bought a cheaper one for back up ( excuse the pun ) but no where near the medibrace for quality and support.

This system works well. You can use it on your upper or lower back. The heat and ice packs come in handy for extra relief after a skate session. You can use it without the hot/cold packs as well. It fits comfortably and the straps are easy to adjust for a tighter/looser fit, depending on your support needs.

This brace did the trick. It pulled in my stomach and straightened my back and eased the pain while I worked and walked around all day. By the end of my workday, my back didn’t hurt anymore. The velcro straps stay in place and the braces in back are comfortable- they don’t stick into you.

It’s the right height too. I found the other back braces in an XL size to be too tall for my shorter torso. This is a great support and I’m hoping they carry it in white too.

it’s lightweight, very easy to put on, and reasonably priced. the only thing is wish is that the support mechanisms were just a little stronger in how they support. the lower back. i realize that might be difficult to achieve while still making it flexible enough to use it in activities.

It’s good light duty style support brace for everyday. It has mesh along the sides which does a decent job of keeping you cool. The velcro seems to last a long time too. The velcro on the straps doesn’t overhang off the edges and snag your clothing like with others.

This happened with my last back support which I ended up throwing right away. The adjustment straps on this are easy to work and help the fit. You can make it snug or loose by simply pulling the straps tight.

It is rather thin, definitely not bulky.
