I really wanted to like this bike. The idea of a bike that grows with a child was appealing. Bought for my 5 year old, who has been riding a 2 wheel bike since he was 3, because it said it grows with children to age 7.
Unfortunately, when we put it together I had to make it as large as it would go for him to be able to ride. All that said, I still wanted to rate it well. Unfortunately, the right pedal completely broke off while he was riding it this morning.
The Plastic in the center of the pedal, where it slides over the metal, was completely ripped up and will not stay on the bike at all and will need to be replaced. He got this bike at the beginning of April and has taken it on daily 3 mile bike rides, until this morning when the pedal came off.
This bike is so well made and easy to follow instructions on how to assemble the Bike and to adjust it for different stages. My boy already had a trike but he didnt want to have training wheels on a bike so this Xtend Bike was the perfect fit for him.
He can learn how to balance on the bike without training wheels and when he is ready, all we have to do is attach the pedals. This is such a great Bike.
I bought this balance bike for my 3yo daughter, it took her about 8 months to understand that its fun to push hard and lift your legs. The bike gets used every other day and it’s still in excellent condition.
The quality is great. Balance bikes are a most in my opinion. So, what better than buying one that you can later attach pedals to it?.
One of the world’s lightest pedal bikes, the woom 2 provides kids ages 3-4 a seamless transition from a balance bike to a pedal bike without training wheels. Skip the training wheels, take on the world!.
Our oldest started with a Woom 3. Fantastic. Pre-ordered a Woom 2 for the next in que. Not so impressed. 1) It feels really heavy for the size. Pretty much the same weight as the Woom 3, except much smaller.
Yes, I know there isn’t much out there that competes for weight, but I felt that you could trim a lot of weight by downsizing the frame tube diameters, the fork size, and the handlebars. It is for a 25-40lb rider, not 140lb.
2) The freewheel, or should I say extorsionwheel. Yes, I knew you needed to order one. The coaster was not a surprise. But, I agree with others that the lack of visibility on the additional purchase is absurd.
Especially when lead times are measured in Months, not weeks or days. What WAS a surprise is that it has been almost a year in COVID lockdown and they STILL have not gotten their supply chain kinks worked out for a freewheel.
6 Month lead time?? That’s nuts. Wait. No, a 14″ New Old Stock Woom 2 freewheel selling on ebay for $90 is nuts.
I have a 3-yr-old who was tearing it up on the balance bike but wanted to pedal like her older siblings. She was too short for any of the pedal bikes we owned. The Woom 2 is PERFECT. It’s incredibly light and the geometry is flawless.
The construction is the highest quality. The chain guard protects kids from the chain, the colored brake makes it easier to learn which brake to use, and the reach from handlebar to brake is just right.
The turning limiter keeps the handlebars from getting out of control. Quick-release seatpost makes for easy adjustments. Woom bikes are perfect in every way!.

This is our second RB bike for our granddaughter. They are great quality but the bike they sent was not the bike shown in the original ad. That being said, we decided to keep it bc it was cute and it was her birthday gift.
When we assembled the bike he post that holds the seat on was missing. Hopefully it will arrive soon. It’s very nice, she loves it and I would purchase it again.

I’ve been setting up Ikea furniture and items from boxes for decades and these instructions are horrible. It’s almost better just to do it by intuition. To companies: please just make a youtube video, it is much easier for busy parents.
The front brakes are not working and after setting it up for an hour I don’t know what it would entail to dismantle it all and send it back. The height is definitely for a 50% or more 4 year old to 6 year so they are correct in that.
The smallest seat setting does not fit my smaller side 3. 5 year old. The training wheels are not real wheels and just cheap plastic that looks like it will break after a few times around the block. The bike is cute but that’s about it.
Just go to a bike shop and buy one there in person.
I am disappointed by this purchase. Surprised that for the amount of money spent I would have received a higher quality product. The bike was not packaged very well. The instructions were vague at best with diagrams so small they were almost useless.
The front brake adjustment is cheap. No fenders. The basket and plastic straps I am sure will not last. Front reflector can’t be used with basket. Not very well thought out from a design standpoint. I would not recommend this purchase.
I had issues almost immediately. The training wheels were not sturdy and no matter how much I tightened them the bolts kept coming off. I had to take it to a bike shop so that they could use their tools to tighten it and secure the seat.
No matter how hard we tried we couldn’t secure that either. The back reflector light came broken out of the box. Our little one won’t be riding at night anyway. That being said, once the pros at the bike shop secured it was ready to go.
Given what came out of the box, I wish the price had been less.
Whether they’ve been shreddin’ trails for months or they’re just getting started cruisin’ around the neighborhood, they’ll love doing so on this RoyalBaby Buttons Bike. This kids blue bike features a pulse TIG welded steel frame, with a BMX TIG welded steel fork offering leading-edge dropouts.
Steel 20-hole rims with rubber wide 2. 4-inch knobby tires make for a smooth ride on even and uneven surfaces, and the enclosed chain guard, non-slip resin pedal with reflector, and one-piece crank enhance the comfort and movability.
Assembly tools, heavy-duty training wheels, a bell and designer frame pad are all included, so your little daredevil can hit the streets in no time!.
We opened our Woom3 on a Wednesday. My 5 year old who was barely interested in her previous balance bike or the bike with training wheels, wanted to try this bike without pedals as soon as she touched and explored it a bit.
We left it without pedals for a couple of days and she rode may be a total of 2 hours without pedals. On Saturday, we attached pedals and she pedaled away the moment she sat on the bike!! I couldn’t believe it as I had watched many YouTube videos and was prepared to “hold the child” in parking lots for at least a week before she could master it.
I did not have to use any of that knowledge!! Now, we will never know what caused her to master this bike while she wouldn’t touch the other “Elsa bike” which she had chosen personally several months back.
But, I definitely feel the light weight played a big role. Another big advantage is the absence of coaster breaks in Woom bikes. I have no clue why there are those coaster breaks in other kid bikes because they are nothing but frustration when the little legs want extra push.
There is some magic mechanical engineering involved in Woom3 bikes which make entry easier for kids. Your ~400 bucks are well spent, I would say since it seems to give a frustration free start into wonderful world of biking for kids and parents!!.

Last spring we had trouble with my 4 year-old transitioning from her tricycle into a bike with training wheels and she became discouraged from bike riding after loving her tricycle the year before. After recommendations from others we bought this balance bike for her to practice indoors before the start of spring.
She loves it and has figured out how to balance herself (where the training wheels failed last year). She can’t wait to use it outside and already a speedster on this. When my daughter grows out of this bike, her 11 month sister will get to use it as the sturdy and adjustable frame makes it the perfect hand-me-down.
The wheels are thin and slippery. I did not see the bike in store. I purchased on line and picked it up, so I only saw the box. It was a birthday gift for my 2 year old. If I had seen it assembled in store I would not have purchased it.
I figured that buying from mastermind was a safe bet because generally I feel their toy selections are great.
My 3 year old daughter received this, her first balance bike, for Christmas. She was over the moon and especially loved the colour, (pink). We found it easy to assemble. Great value for money. The bike itself is sturdy and robust, it’s also adjustable so will hopefully last my daughter a good year or two!.
Kids move fast, and grow faster. At times, it can seem like there’s a small window for the perfect bike fit. The right bike for a young rider is a delicate balance between too small, too big, and a short-lived just right.
The Jett is designed so that you’ll never fear the growth spurts. The Jett is uniquely adjustable, perfectly proportional, and child-liftable—you’ll always be set to Jett. The Jett Single Speed features an adjustable handlebar that allows kids to fine tune reach as their arms grow.
The narrower saddle and grips were informed by a Retül study on kids to be the appropriately size—with handbrakes on both the 16” and 20”. You’re going to have to beg them to get off this bike. Every detail of the Jett Single Speed—including the 130mm Bridge saddle, narrower-diameter grips, and short-reach, tool-less adjustable brake levers—was informed by Retül data from a kids’ research group to be perfectly proportional for young riders.
A lightweight bike is simply more fun and the Jett Single Speed’s all-new A1 aluminum frame, alloy fork, Pathfinder tires, and single-speed drivetrain make it one of the lightest kids’ bikes on the market.
Just picked 2 of these up for my 10 and 8 years olds. They LOVE being able to change the gears (8 speed), it’s also very easy to change gears because it is a trigger control. The bikes are unbelievably light weight as well.
Doesn’t hurt that they look great either! Looks like a premium bike.
The disc-brake version of the XtC Jr. gives added control for more advanced trails and conditions. With its lightweight aluminum frame, front suspension, and fast-rolling 24-inch wheels, he’s ready to roll on off-road adventures.
Lightweight frame ALUXX-grade aluminum frame provides a lightweight, purpose-built chassis for aspiring young off-road riders. Confidence and control Size-specific 24-inch wheels, front suspension and disc brakes give young riders the performance they need for true off-road riding.
Kid-friendly features Youth-specific performance components help young riders improve their off-road skills.
My son loves the new bike. He upgraded from a 20″ so this is his first bike with disc breaks, suspension and gears. The new gray color for 2021 looks really cool and he’s doing great with it. The only issue is with the Shimano Revoshift.
Occasionally he’s not able to shift gears because the grip shift is too tight. Looking online I see others with similar complaints. I’ll probably upgrade this component so he can shift reliably on his own.
Pretty decent build for the included component group. Would have liked to see this come with a HG freehub body and cassette and NOT a freewheel. makes doing any future upgrades a pain. If your kid is a ripper it might be worth to buy the SL model with the upgraded fork, brakes, and groupset.
Only a few hours in, but it seems like an excellent value. So far, may son seems to love it. Thanks to Debbie Simmons for her extra efforts to help us purchase this bike during an ongoing market shortage!.
The Hedgehog is a “do anything” bike. Kids drop stairs, tackle technical trails or hunt for caterpillars in the neighborhood. The bike has no rider weight limit, so when your child has gone to sleep after a day of riding, take the Hedgehog for a spin.
Awesome bike. Took my 3. 5 year old out today for the first time on hers. She technically fit the bike, but tippy toed, so I cut roughly an inch off of the seat post. It’s perfect now and she still has leverage at top of her pedal stroke (foot isn’t to close to her seat).
Geometry is incredible, she immediately rides better than on her 12” trek or 16” specialized we borrowed to see fit. The exception being she’s getting a little squirrelly at times, which I think is the raked out front fork, but that’s due to her not being used to how it handles more so than a fault on the bike.
Gear ratio is great for her on this bike. Cranks are significantly longer so she has better leverage to muscle up hills but still has a comparable gear ratio as the other bikes. Essentially enabling her to maintain the same speed as the other bikes, but still have to ability to muscle up small inclines.
Brakes work really well, and levers are adjustable to get very close to bars. Free wheel is fantastic so she doesn’t accidentally pedal backwards on the top of her stroke and lock up her back wheel like she did on the trek and specialized.
Hand brakes are fantastic for confidence. She can go down hills or ride dicier surfaces with her feet down while still able to stop and control her speed. Also, the rear hub is threaded on the left side as well, so a disc brake can be retrofitted to run a hydraulic disc brake on the rear (which I did on her stacyc electric bike).
Build quality is great, I’m over 200 lbs and can pedal this thing. Weight is no more than any other kids bike we’ve dealt with (16” specialized is heavier), so I’m not sure why someone commented about it being too heavy.
Overall best kids bike I’ve handled in person, with the most exciting geometry. This bike is single handedly going to facilitate her early progression, as she can do things with it that she can’t do with the other bikes.
If you are thinking about this for a smaller kiddo. don’t. Seriously don’t do it, this design is flawed, and customer support does not exist nor does anything resembling responsibility from Cleary. I had several small issues with poor assembly right out of the box, fixed them myself pretty quick, problem solved.
Once my kid was on it is was immediately apparent that there are bigger issues with the design and pairing of components with this bike. Cleary noticed them too, they changed up a few things on the 2021 model to try and put a bandaid on this flawed design but refuse to help out us suckers who dropped $300+ on the flawed model.
Zero compassion and zero responsibility on their end, I can not support this company or their products. The flaw is in the incredibly long frame and reach combined with the short stand over clearance that a lot of us bought this bike for, the kids that are a little smaller than most.
Because of the length my kid was stretched out way to far for comfort or function but at the same time her knees are in her chest when she pedals. Cleary managed to make a bike for kids that is both too big and too small at the same time! way to go! Great idea failed execution and nonfunctional design and a company that refuses to back up its product.
Purchased this for my son who was riding a pretty nice bike already, but was having trouble riding very far on paved trails. Upgrading to this bike really made a positive difference in his happiness during longer bike rides, and our ability to go further distances as a family.
Banwood Bonton R Cream – A durable toddler balance bike, Banwood’s FIRST GO! Bonton-R-Cream bike offers a child-friendly frame, which is height adjustable. With an extremely soft saddle and handlebar for their comfort, this vintage-esque bike is ideal for introducing your son or daughter to cycling.
Naturally supporting their development by encouraging mobility and steering to help the transition to a pedal bike, this FIRST GO! model has a steel frame with a cream coloured finish, a cute wicker basket, a bell, and 12” wheels.
Certified for use between three and five years old, this lightweight yet sturdy bike will last and last.
This is currently hidden from the birthday girl recipient, but I know she’s going to love riding it because she’s enjoyed riding other balance bikes. She requested a pink balance bike with a basket and a bell, and.
lo and behold, TNBC had exactly what I was looking for! It’s a beautiful, classic-looking bike and I can’t wait to see her curly pigtails peeking out from under her helmet when she flies down the driveway or rides alongside me while walking to her grandparents’ house.
This bike requires some assembly. All necessary tools are included and the instructions were clear enough that I was able to follow them without help or additional googling. I put it together in about 20 minutes.
Someone more familiar with bicycle assembly terminology would probably be able to do it more quickly.
Wonderful bike, it looks even better in real life, my niece absolutely loves it, she is 3 years old and will be perfect for her. Came very well packaged and with all tools and instructions to make assembly very easy! Highly recommend this fabulous bike :).
We couldn’t be happier with the quality of this balance bike. On top of it being the perfect educational approach to teaching our 3 year old to to ride a bike, it has become her most prized toy. She loves the basket and the great pink color.
It’s really eye catching. Highly recommend for any other #girldads out there.

The transaction with Cambria went smooth and the bike was shipped the same day. It took a bit longer to get it to the East Coast than I expected due to UPS freight delays. The box came absolutely in tact, bike was VERY well packed in tons of bubble wrap.
The bike was pre assembled and decently tuned. It impressed me with an excellent frame quality build, solid air fork and rear shock. It indeed impressed me as a playful trail bike due to its progressive geometry and 27.
5 wheels. The only problem I had with my new bike, and that’s why I rated it 4 out of 5 (component quality control issue), was the defective bearings in the Shimano cassette hub, making grinding noise and wobbling at freewheeling.
Cambria immediately contacted Marin warranty, where they said the faulty wheel needs to be sent to Shimano… which would most likely delay my plans to ride for weeks. Luckily, Cambria customer support rep Alan was super nice and helpful and within 2 days, Cambria took care of it and sent me a replacement wheel.
Just installed the replacement, cassette hub freewheels like butter, and I’ll be riding this weekend. Great store, great customer support, didn’t let me down. Thanks Cambria!.
Firstly the bike, it’s incredible! The paintwork is stunning, and it rides even better than it looks. I’m 5’11 and went for the large which for me feels just right. For the deal I got at the time, in my opinion it can’t be beat.
Sure it may need a few minor improvements in the long run, but everyone loves an upgrade regardless of level of bike. For an entry level “do it all” full sus, it’s more than capable for what any average rider can throw at it, and as you improve (which this bike begs you to do) it’s a great base to build on and improve with you.
Secondly, the service from biketart has been exceptional. The overall delivery and communication throughout was flawless, and even though I encountered a minor issue, the guys at biketart went above and beyond expectations to rectify the problem and a special mention must be given to Michael in particular.
He was the main contact throughout and I can’t praise enough the help and customer service I received. And I’m happy to say, I will now be using biketart for the foreseeable future based on the care and dedication these guys put in to looking after their customers! ….
Coming from decades of road cycling experience, this is my first mountain bike. I’m fit enough for challenging rides, but little technical experience mountain biking. I purchased this bike to keep the investment low, but enable me to upgrade in the future.
I’ve now gone on many steep, rocky, technical rides and the bike has done excellent. I’m very happy with my choice. I only upgraded to a dropper post at the time of purchase. In the future I’ll upgrade the group set as I’d prefer a little more snappiness in shifting, but it performs very well on tough trails.
This great value all-aluminium bike has a high quality lightweight frame and forks. It has child-sized Tektro brakes with adjustable levers for smaller hands, 7-speed Shimano easy-twist gears and easily adjusted saddle height.
Available in red, purple, orange or spotty, and comes with a bell, reflectors and mudguards as standard. Suitable for minimum inside leg of 55cm (around 6-7 years old).
Start Fitness were great from beginning to end. Kept up to date about the progress of my order and they phoned in advance to arrange a suitable delivery date. The fact that they take the time to set up the bike is a great touch and makes things much more straightforward at the other end! Highly recommended.
We had the Frog 44 and were extremely happy with it. This was the natural progression to the next size up for our 6 year old. She’s pleased with the bike and now riding more comfortably on a more size appropriate bike.
Freedom is the absence of fear. And riding fearlessly requires a bike that can handle your kids imagination. Thats why engineers designed the 2022 Specialized Riprock 20 Kids Bike to be a mountain bike inclusive of all the features needed for superior ripping like modern geometry Ground Control tires hydraulic disc brakes and internally routed cables.
Finally they threw in a wider-range drivetrain making Riprock truly the perfect bike to inspire riders to climb higher and tackle the downhills freely. Kids cant ride confidently if theyre not riding comfortably.
With Riprock fit comes first. This meant using data to reimagine everything from how they grip to how they sit to create a bike specifically and proportionally for kids. Comfort creates confidence and more confidence always leads to more riding fearlessly.
The brakes on this bike are dangerous to say the least. The first pull of the levers only just bring the pads into contact with the disc, you don’t get any braking effort until the second pull. You can adjust the levers all the way out and even then the levers still almost touch the grips.
Not designed with little hands in mind at all. I replaced the brakes entirely before I let my son ride it. The local bike shop rep I spoke to looked shocked until I told him what bike it was, then he nodded knowingly.
I’m clearly not the first person to have this problem. Do better Specialized, we don’t spend strong money for weak products.
Recently purchased two of the Riprock bikes for my kids. They previously had big box sporting goods store bikes that were less than 2 years old. Descent bikes, but no where near the quality of the Riprock.
Something about the geometry of the Riprock that the kids feel more comfortable riding. The components make for easy riding. The kids are truly enjoying the new bikes and riding way more frequently. Already planning some upcoming trail rides per their requests.
I got the previous model for my one of my kids so I was very happy, was about to pull the trigger on another for my 5yr old (tall kid) and I saw they were updated and $50 more than the 20”. No brainer so I ordered it.
The bike will be easy to put together from anyone even if they never turned a wrench. BigS includes all the tools needed. The packaging although gives you a well put bike, due to the shipping, it damaged the top tube paint but specialized support helped me out with a return and exchange for a perfect one.
FedEx needs to be a bit more careful with these little beauties but they are worth every penny. Happy Riding!.
The Frog 55 has adjustable Tektro brakes, 8-speed Shimano easy-change thumb shifters and an 8-speed cassette hub. Suitable for minimum inside leg of 22-inches (55cm) (around 6-7 years old), it has 20-inch wheels.
The all-aluminum bike has a high-quality frame, easily adjusted saddle height and a crank length of 114mm. Comes with a bell, reflectors and mudguards as standard.
Kids Frog bikes were showing out of stock everywhere until I saw that Rutland Cycles were showing 3 in stock of the right size and colour. I was dubious about ordering on line as during lockdown I had ordered ‘ex stock’ adult bikes from two other well known suppliers only to be let down but not so with Rutland Cycles.
The Bike arrived in a few days factory boxed, just to pivot handlebars into place, fit pedals, mudguards, reflectors and your ready to go. Could not fault the service from Rutland cycles. We find Frog bikes very well made with quality components that take the hammer kids dish out.
The sizing fits the kids spot on and the kids enjoy them. Its the third frog bike we have bought, each bike passed down the sibling age group with no issues.
Purchased for our granddaughter’s 9th birthday. Her first “proper” bike and she loves it. Design is spot on, good gears and brakes, obviously designed for growing youngsters but looks super grown up and not like a toy.
Adjustments easy and allow for plenty of growth. Build quality excellent. Cannot recommend enough. Well worth the cost.
Having bought my own road bike from Rutland Cycling I had no worries about delivery or quality. The bike, for my grandson, arrived 3 days before his birthday. Unfortunately when I unpacked it I realised I had ordered the wrong sized bike.
The following day I contacted customer service who found a bike the correct size and would be assembled and ready the following day. With only 24 hours before my grandsons birthday I decided to collect the bike myself.
Only a200 mile round trip. On collection the guys at the Pitsford store were amazing. The bike was ready and waiting and the exchange was very easy. As for my grandson he was overjoyed. He couldn’t wait to try out his new bike.
He adores anything orange so what could be better but an orange frog bike. He can’t wait to go out with grandad and put some miles behind himself. Thank you Rutland Cycling and thank you Pitsford. Ps: The review if you hadn’t guessed is for the 24” sized bike.
Kids move fast and grow faster. At times it can seem like theres a small window for the perfect bike fit. The right bike for a young rider is a delicate balance between too small too big and a short-lived just right.
The 2022 Specialized Jett 24 Inch 8 Speed Kids Bike is designed so that youll never fear the growth spurts. Specialized did their homework to understand how kids growspoiler alert kids arms and legs grow more rapidly than their torso.
They took to the books and designed a bike with child-specific touch points that withstand the development of young riders. The Jett is uniquely adjustable perfectly proportional and child-liftabletheyll always be set to Jett.
The Jett Multi-speed features an adjustable handlebar that allows kids to fine tune reach as their arms grow. The 2-hole position cranks combined with longer seat tubes give plenty of flexibility to dial-in the optimal pedaling position.
This bike is well made and light enough for my kid to ride. He is 8 and on the skinny side and had a woom 4 which was light and extremely agile and was looking into a woom 5 but I didnt like the fact that the shifters had to be twisted which is cumbersome while riding especially if you are going uphill and so decided against a woom 5.
Most bikes for kids were bulky, had wide tires and werent meant for a long ride especially given the energy my kid had to use to pedal. The Trek Precaliber is still very bulky and heavy and not ergonomically suited.
Went to ERIKS and hated the Hotrock with the coaster brakes as it would have been a step down from woom 4 which has both front and rear handlebar brakes. We had stumbled on the JETT by chance and it was love at first sight for my kid.
In addition to having handlebar brakes, the gear shifters were levers that you push with your thumb like you see in Adult hybrid bikes. Given how lightweight it is, skinnier tires and the ergonomics of it, my kid loved it when he took it out for a ride.
He doesnt have to put too much energy into pedaling and now can do longer distances when we go on our bike rides. Overall a great bike and it was an added bonus that ERIKS had a 25% off sale and it was a NO BRAINER !!! If you kid is on the skinnier side and want a light weight bike and want to do longer distance when biking, this is the one you want.
Owned for 2 months. Paid $600. Disappointed. Right brake cable extends too long into child’s pedal rotation when riding and caused abrasions. Pedal fell off while riding at speed and caused my son to fall and get injured…luckily he had a helmet on.
Reached out to Specialized and received a Automated Bot type Response. Are others experiencing this? Recall?.

-Bring along snacks and drinks for both mom and toddler. This will help keep everyone energized during the ride.
