There once was a local (Idaho) company that made potting soil. It was inexpensive but of the very best quality I’ve ever worked with. This product reminds me of that soil less mix. I used it for just about everything.

I would start seeds in it, work them into larger containers, place it in the transplant holes to ease transplant shock, blend it into garden soil prior to direct seeding, use it as a mulch base for strawberries prior to spreading pine shavings.

the uses are very numerous indeed since I use no granulated fertilizers or sprays. Clover lawn clippings and the potting soil combined with crop rotation and cover crops are all the soil building I do! This will be my newest go to soil!.

I’ve been using Earthboxes successfully for many years with tomatoes and other vegetables. Recently switched my entire indoor cannabis grow to racked Earthboxes with living soil and could not be happier.

I add about 50% to my grow space in a small 5 x 6 layout by shelving half of it and these low profile pots make that possible without pushing my plants all the way to the hot ceiling. EM-1 or homegrown bacillus in the reservoir kick the system up another notch as well.

I still don’t have the restraint to keep myself from pulling the plastic mulch and doing a light worm tea + myco + bacillus or sprouted seed tea top drench once every two weeks or so although I doubt the system needs it.

Do not doubt the system. Living soil can work exceptionally well in it provided you keep it light with coco or coco peat mix and pumice or Perlite. Instructions say vermiculite is okay too, but in my experience it can lead to a muddier/muckier mix which can lead to greater issues with living soil mixes than one might see with a less rich medium.

I stick with med/large pumice add mostly coco to lighten plus a touch of peat for improved tilth. Quality in, quality out and Earthbox helps one stick to keep it simple ****** principles. I use neem and karanja meal in my soil mix along with diatomaceous earth spead generously around the opening in the mulch cover to help control gnats which are par for the course with living soil but rarely cause any harm if the system is otherwise in balance or I should say in its usual state of hyper vigorous growth.

Really happy i ordered this might be one of the best kept secrets for the garden. It is a low level organic fertilizer. Applied to our fruit trees and am putting in ground as i plant. Also trying as a growing medium to start a Moringa seed in as it has to be bug free most purchased garden soil is contaminated with bugs.

Great Stuff! Add 10-20% in your grow medium, and Amazing results come around! While this is always marketed as a Fertilizer, What’s really great are the beneficial microbes in the castings! A perfect way to add good microbes into your soiless mix, that ordinary microbes for sale don’t have.

I admit, I have not had the best luck growing things. So I was reluctant to buy a fig tree. But I do believe I’ve got it now, with the help of Miracle Grow Garden Soil for Trees and shrubs. After digging the hole putting some of the soil in the hole and filling it all around with Miracle Garden soil, the tree is flourishing.

I love the rich texture of the soil coming from the bag. I have new growth sprouting and a promise of figs this year. I’m in growing zone 9A so the longer season gives me more time to plant and enjoy.

What’s next? A lemon tree, now that I have the confidence and Miracle Grow garden soil for trees and shrubs.

I mixed this soil with some other topsoil I had and used it in planting some new ornamental shrubs in my yard. It is supposed to hold moisture in but it’s a little too soon to tell if it does or doesn’t.

The shrubs are thriving so far. It will take some time for me to decide if the Scott’s is worth using again. I will try to check back in another month or 2 and report back on the shrubs progress. FYI.

2 of the shrubs were planted without the Scott’s topsoil so I can compare if the soil makes a difference.

I find this good quality, enriched soil by Miracle-Gro to be a useful and beneficial product. The soil is rich with nutrients so plants have an abundant food supply to support healthy development, and too build strong roots.

Since application to my trees and shrubs, I have noticed healthier looking plantings, and less leaf yellowing. I am grateful that this soil has Moisture Control technology for protection, since I have a tendency to overwater my plantings.

First, I love how easy this packaging is to hold, shake, and utilize. The weight is perfect, at 2. 5 lbs, so it isnt something that will cause you discomfort while using. I also am happy to see that there is a product specifically for planter/raised bed styled gardening, as jt bevimes more popular.

Thus far, after using, I have noticed me asparagus plants have gone “crazy”, and are growing much better than they have in the past. My tower garden also appears to be “loving it”. The application directions were easy to follow and were understandable.

This year was my first spending the xtra money and using this miracle grow product as opposed to the original liquid or blue product. Once I filled my hose end feeder, I started watering my garden. Then shortly thereafter smelled an odor of sewage, I thought my neighbor had sewer problems, but the smell was originating from my feeder.

I have a greenhouse on my property and used a rototiller to get a great jump with early seedlings. I planned this expensive garden again this year and lost my large investment of time and money without the benefits of a harvest to enjoy.

This is only fertilizer product from Miracle Grow that states wash hands after use, the original doesn’t have that restriction. I returned all of the product. I didn’t harvest any of the vegetables as I was afraid to eat because of the potential human sewage used in the manufacture of this product.

I am a licensed master plumber, this didn’t smell like any fertilizer I’ve ever used.

I am beside myself. I was so happy we found the perfect tree the day after Thanksgiving. In all the years we bought fresh trees, this is the first year we have this problem of losing so many needles without showing any signs of being dry.

We’ve followed the instructions, adding water every day to the tree early every morning, lunch time, dinner time and evening before going to bed making sure the tree always had water. My husband ran out to buy a second bottle as soon as we got low since we went through the first bottle pretty quickly.

We have a large metal stand the tree trunk sits about 6 inches in depth. Lights were placed in the tree 12/5 and we have not turned them on except to install. We have been afraid to turn them on because the needles are falling off.

We have yet to put the decorations on. It will be a delicate task. The tree is not brown nor is it dry. It is still drinking water continually. The branches bend without any sign of breaking. We’re lucky if we make it to 12/25.

I have been using the Miracle-Gro Rose Plant Food for about a month now and I have seen a difference in the appearance of my roses and other plants. I have used this in my garden and my flower pots. My roses, flowers and vegetables have bloomed nicely compared to when I used nothing at all.

I found it very easy to use Miracle-Gro Rose Plant Food. I followed the directions. For my outdoor plants I mixed 11/2 teaspoons Plant food to 1 1/2 gallons of water. I watered my plants with this mixture every week and half.

I am very happy how all my plants are doing. I also like that it is safe for any plants. I would definitely recommend the Miracle-Gro Rose Plant Food because it’s safe, easy to use and it helps my plants.

Plus, it’s safe for my honey bees. I received this product free in exchange for my honest opinion.

The pros are simply put it is great soil with the right amount of near everything and it’s of nice fine sift. It’s great for one go of 4 months or so. After that it lacks slow release nutrients “that can be added” on the big con is “bugs” “larvae” this can be fixed with a bit of prep with neem oil and insecticidal soaps.

Plenty of ways to fix but for the price. maybe should already be done. The only problem with the cost is that the distribution is scarce. Very much so in rural areas. It’s a solid hour and 45 minute drive to my nearest dealer/carrier but if you take the trip and find one you’ll be sour that the price on the 1.

Tractor supply or Co-OP at least. It’s a bit of a black market with a bug problem. I spray with neem oil and soap “notdawn” then flip the soil and repeat 3-4 times. I then let soil completely dry out again placing in extreme cold helps too.

I then re-warm and re-wet with spring water adding bone meal, broke up organic jobes fertilizer sticks, blood meal plus perlite and vermiculite for drainage and anti packing properties and finally about 5 lbs or 6 gallons of cocoa coir.

Best soil I’ve personally ever used after a little prep work. ps: the neem oil and soap will keep away the bugs gnats and larvae best part its completely natural and from a tree. Smells bad and I do not recommend during flowering cycles.

I discovered this product last year and was totally blown away! You can literally see your plants growing once you pot them using this soil. My garden is in pots on my deck and I am amazed with how well they all are doing.

This is my first year using this Eco-coir mixture and I’m so glad I decided to switch from the seed starter I’ve been using for years. I mixed one of these coir starter bricks with a little of my all purpose seed starting mix (2.

5 cups) and a little vermiculite (2 cups) and I’ve had great success with germination so far. It seems to soften quickly when you add water so I was easily able to mix everything together and get perfect moisture for seed starting.

I’ve had problems in the past with damping off of my seedlings and I’m hoping that correct watering and this Eco- coir mix will solve that. So far so good.

I have been using the Eco-co Coir Seed Starting Mix for several years now. I actually add it with another seed starting mix from Gardener’s and have found that this works really well. The only drawback, and that is a slight one, is that you have to really watch not to over- or underwater the mix especially if you use just the coir.

I grow my seedlings under grow lights and forgot to check one time and the mix dried out, then I overwatered. Yep, had to start over. That is when I came up with the mix I now use and it doesn’t dry out so fast.

The housing is weak where the bar clamps to saw. It can easily crack and distort allowing the bar to move around and get loose. Then the oil will leak down out the bottom instead of going into the chain bar.

Mine failed after 3 cuts on a large log. (It was a refurb item) Also the tension adjuster screw just presses against a hollow plastic protrusion and will punch through in a short time. If you take the saw apart you can press a 1/2″ piece of 3/8 round bar into that part of the housing to reinforce it.

This saw is very poorly engineered. Way too weak for its size.

I got this because I was having problems starting my gas chain sa. Usually I would get mad enough to say screw it, and buy another chain saw. Since I’m getting older and don’t know if my non starting gas chainsaw was a mechanical problem or was caused by my loss of physical strength an agility problem, so I decided not to buy a new gas chain saw, but instead get a high amp electric saw.

I’ve bought three different reconditioned lawn/garden tools on EBay with excellent results, so I got this model and I’ve had great results. The real clincher is that since it is factory reconditioned and it has the same warranty as new.

My favoured soil. A light airy growing media my calatheas love. Holds just enough water and is well aerated.

This is the third year I have used this planting mixture. I plant a lot of flowers in pots of various sizes. I have found that the flowers do very well, looking good until the fall frosts. I like that the bag is so big because I can buy two bags and usually have enough for all my pots.

I have to admit that this year I had to go back and get one extra, smaller bag because I over estimated how many flowers I needed to get.

I built raised garden beds last year and instead of regular topsoil which can be heavy and turn into mud, I used this product along with compost and sheep manure. My garden was so productive and the product remained so light and water retentive.

I purchased a bag of this yesterday from the Stratford branch and struggled to get it home. Got home & couldn’t wait to start my repotting. First thing I noticed is the smell. I thought I had a electrical wire fault in my kitchen until I realised it was the bag of compost.

Opened the bag and what a disaster. Large pieces of wood and whatever the other pieces were, I don’t know. If I wasn’t short on money, I would’ve thrown the entire bag away but I don’t really have much of a choice but to use it.

Definitely can not be used for any plants inside of my home because of the smell. So only outside plants. Will have to buy another bag at some point for the inside plants but I will stay far from this brand in future!.

Bought a couple of a few days ago. Wished I’d seen the most recent reviews first. Loads of bits and pieces of wood, and wood chippings inside of it, really noticeable. When in containers, the top dries very quickly, leaving a hard crust small wooden chips and bits, that makes it difficult for the shoots to penetrate.

Some of the worst I’ve bought. I doubt the old reviews, were for the inferior product that, is now contained in these bags.

Beware the 5-star reviews are pretty old. Got a couple of bags yesterday for my planters, I was shocked to see large pieces of plant material mixed up in the bags nothing was composted. Not sure how the root system will establish in such material and how it will retain moisture or provide nutrients to the plants.

Will not buy again and won’t even recommend buying.

I have come to rely on these minute soil bricks. One brick is the perfect amount to mix with my worm compost to get the right amount of drainage to organic materials. All my veggies and flowers love it and I can even use it as a base for my worms along with shredded newspaper.

Perfect solution for living in a small space but wanting to care for plants in a big way. Highly recommended.

Good quality, hydrates fairly quickly leaving a few dry chunks to be broken down by hand and mixed in. It combined well with vermiculite and sand to make my seed-starting mix. Good price compared to other vendors.

Coir is a slightly better environmental choice than peat moss and is also pH neutral. It’s more expensive than peat moss, but it’s easy to work with, compact to store, and very lightweight before hydrating.

The minute soil compressed coconut pucks worked beautifully! They are just as good, if not better than regular dirt. They expanded way more than I expected and one soil compress was enough to grow a decent amount of a spicy salad mix of microgreens.

They did not have an unpleasant odor, just smelled like wet dirt. The selection of coconut based products was more than adequate to fit my needs. Overall, I am very pleased with the price range, performance of the product and happy with my purchase! Thanks True-Leaf Market! -Karen.

This is the second year of using the pellets. Everything loves it. So easy to add to soil as a slower release feed. Been adding a good sprinkling on and off to a basket of trailing begonias. They are already strong, healthy and beaten me to replacing the basket soil.

It’s really good value – goes a long way, it’s easy to use and doesn’t disturb the trojan wood lice. Love your garden – give it a chicken hit!.

I’ve never used chicken manure pellets before. I’ve put some in my allotment raised beds. Hopefully in a few months time I’ll see the rewards. It’s a natural manure, less messy than animal manure, and it was easy to mix into the compost.

I might have got a bit carried away purchasing 2 boxes, but it was well worth the price.

I bought this last winter and have added a handful to almost all my flower and veg pots, borders and beds. I’ve never had a better growing year, never used less plant food (almost none), and it’s been really good value for money.

Buying another 10kg for this year.

This compost dries to a hard crust which makes watering from the top a pain if that’s what you want to do. However, the worst thing is this: it describes itself as “Now suitable for seed sowing” and “Ideal for seedlings, pricking out and potting on”.

Leaving aside its nutrient value, which is too early for me to judge, all I can say is that it fails to add ‘as long as you sieve it carefully first’. It has far too many hard lumps of ‘something’, bits of twig and an ridiculous number of stones! Fine if you’re say filling a raised bed but not for seeds or seedlings.

Good compost. No wire or big bits of wood. No flock like cheap supermarket compost. There are the usual stringy bits and irregular hard lumps that need to thrown out but this makes up a lot less than 1% unlike some composts were up to 5% is useless.

Plants seem to like it and no sign of fungal or unusual plant contamination. Dries quite quickly (but weather has been extremely hot). Used for potting up seedlings and growing from seed and although not extra fine.
