Didn’t use it. Read the manual, said all I want is a hot cup of good coffee, and returned it. Way too complicated for what it is meant to do…. brew a good cup of coffee. You have to know the hardness scale of your coffee for 1setting.
There is a a ton of settings to ‘set’, but with all the hydro blips we get in Ptbo you would have to re-set it most everyday. It has a charcoal filter in it, whoopee, oh but in the manual it advises you that you cannot dispose of the old filter in regular household waste!! Couple years ago I was given an expensive Delonghi coffee maker, it lasted about 2 years before it almost set fire to my kitchen.
And the Brauns, I found out, are all make by Delonghi now. No thanks. Went to a different store and bought a Sunbeam has 1 button…. on or off. One of the best cups of coffee ever, hot with lots of flavour.
The only coffee maker that rivaled the Sunbeam for flavour was a programmable Black and Decker but it only lasted 2 days before all the controls failed. I love my Sunbeam!.
I waited 2 months of owning and using device before writing this review to make sure i was accurate in my review. I did a lot of research on different models, and read a lot of reviews on this unit here from this site.
it was reviewed by others the buttons get wiped away fast, ive owned it 2 months, none of button lettering is fading. keeping the warmer clean literally after every use has made sure the warm plate doesnt rust up or start chipping.
the pitcher itself can be a little annoying when pouring coffee as someone else explained in these reviews it always spills out the spout, true but you have tilt the pitcher ever so lightly when pouring to avoid spilling from the spout, can take some getting use too but nothing too complicated.
my coffee tastes phenomenal every time, the unit itself is easy to clean, its not too terribly loud until it gets to the end of sucking the water out, makes some loud clicking noises but nothing inconvenient.
The only thing that worries me about this machine is the lid on top of the pitcher. it can be removed, but being plastic, and seeing the way the plastic bends in order to remove said lid terrifies me one day the plastic clips will break, and there goes the lid.
just seeing the way it functions, how you have to be careful pulling it out to not stress the plastic tells me its not a matter of if but when that clip does break. for the most part i try washing the pitcher with the lid still attached so i weaken the plastic as less as possible.
besides my fear of that plastic clip most likely breaking over time, not 100% sure it will, i’d have to say i have 0 other problems with this unit. if it makes it 4-5 years i guess ill be somewhat happy for the price paid.
This coffee maker looks good and makes good coffee. But, within a month of owning it, I noticed the letters on the buttons were beginning to slowly fade. This happened only on the buttons I touched regularly.
The letters on the Brew button almost completely disappeared. I only made one pot a day in that time and I never used detergents or scrubbed it with anything. I don’t know if it was brought on by the excessive steam that travels up the front display area when a pot is brewing.
Once the ink rubs off you have to rely on memory or always have the manual handy to tell you which buttons are which. If that kind of thing doesn’t bother you then you’ll be very happy with the quality of the coffee it makes.
Personally, I found it to be a huge disappointment and it has altered my views of Braun. Outside of that, I had no problems with it. There were no leaks on my machine, and I liked most of the features – just couldn’t get past this problem.
It looked cheap really fast. Try not to touch the letters and you’ll be fine – or get the touch-screen model.

Reviews From Real Customers
I would agree with most of the positive points in other reviews. Overall, it’s a great coffee maker. However, it has a few annoying, problematic issues that I shouldn’t have to deal with in a top-of-the-line, $300 coffee maker, which is why the 3 stars (and why I wouldn’t buy it again):1) [the most annoying] When you rinse out the carafe lid, it’s really difficult to drain all the water out, and you can hear it sloshing around inside (and then you imagine trapped water growing mold).
The only way I’ve found to drain out the water (at least to the point of not hearing sloshing) is to hold it over the sink with the “filler” and “pour” holes oriented vertically (basically, turn it 90 degrees) and shake it vigorously up and down for about a full minute until I don’t see big water drops coming out any more (then check it again for sloshing)….
and then do this EVERY DAY after making coffee for the entire life of the product. Very annoying. 2) The lip of the carafe is designed so that it traps a small amount of liquid when you try to pour it all out — so when you rinse and try to empty it, there’s always a little bit of water left at the bottom.
You could dry with a towel or let it air dry a long time — but again, annoying. 3) Periodically, the reservoir needs to be washed (or at least rinsed to get any sediment out). Because the reservoir can’t be removed from the base unit, this becomes another annoying ordeal, as follows: unplug the base unit, take it over the sink, and tilt it over so that the reservoir is over the sink (and inverted at least slightly downwards, not just horizontal) to be washed, rinsed, and drained.
Then (in an acrobatic maneuver), hold the base unit suspended as previously described with one hand while simultaneously with the other hand managing the sink faucet (hopefully with a telescopic hose that can be extended for rinsing the now-inverted reservoir/base unit), the soapy sponge, and the rinsing and draining itself.
Again, it makes great coffee, but for $300, I want it to make great coffee and not incite me to shake my fist in the air at Breville.

The nameless Power symbol (Bottom-right of the screen) lights up the touch-screen, EXCEPT it is disabled when the coffee is perking, or having finished perking, the carafe heating pad is on. When making coffee make sure the filter basket is fully engaged by pushing down on the little handle of the basket until it clicks.
Failure to do this, the coffee will not flow into the carafe, and you will have a big mess! To start the perking, push & hold BREWOFF/AUTO OFF (Counterintuitive name!) until it brightens and starts blinking.
After blinking for a few seconds it will blink dimly as the coffee perks, then stays lighted while the carafe heat is on. The AUTO ON is programmed to 7:30 AM. Feel free to change it – read the instructions.
If you are OK with this time, press & hold AUTO ON until it brightens as does the set time. It then blinks for about 5 seconds, then remains bright, indicating that it is set to go. These instructions are directed at family & friends using our summer cottage when we are not there.
I figured them out during the first week of using the device. It makes good coffee and maintenance has been easy so far.
Pro’s : – Makes a great cup of coffee, and love the temp options for hot plate after brewing so no burnt coffee taste. – “Showerhead” design works great at saturating all the grounds to get the most flavor and extraction for your buck.
– Looks great and has huge carafe capacity. And doesn’t drip when you pour- yay! Cons: Design flaws (major) including: – Try filling reservoir with the carafe, I dare you. Impossible to empty it due to terrible design of opening.
If you’re a lefty it’s a bit better on left side, but still can’t empty water into reservoir. I have a glass pitcher that I have to use to fill the water now, which I have NEVER needed to fill any other coffee maker before this one.
Redic. No one must have tested design before it was done deal. And no, it doesn’t matter how far out you pull unit to fill it, the cover won’t go back far enough to be able to pour last cup of water into reservoir! – Huge amount of condensation inside unit and when you open it lots drip in back (outside) of unit where there is bizarre drip channel for said runoff, but still leaks down back onto counter.
Also, the way the tiny steam release in back of unit shoots out the steam towards wall, I now get drip marks down wall and god knows if there will be damage eventually to wall from all the moisture. -There is a fair amount or friction trying to place the pot into unit after pouring, as the stopper is really rigid, but that also makes this one of the better “pause to pour” makers I have used.
Best tasting coffee ever. The cone shaped filter and all the options give you complete control over brewing coffee. I usually buy cheaper models but went with this after reading the reviews at Consumer Reports and online here.
It’s easy to operate, easy to fill, and it’s beautiful. Comes with it’s own filter and you don’t need to use paper. I like strong coffee and I didn’t need to use the Bold button, it brews perfectly without it.
It also brews at a nice high temp which makes for great tasting coffee. The water filter was easy to install. I don’t think I will use the filter since I already use filtered water. Love this coffeemaker and it’s got a great warranty.

Reviews From Real Customers
First Ninja appliance and love it. Had a $15 single cup B&D maker that lasted me years until I accidentally turned it on without any water and burnt it out (oops). There are so many pros about this machine.
Everything feels solid and has nice finish/touch throughout. It is fairly compact for a “full size” maker and does not feel intrusive on apartment counters. The carafe lid turns to lock into place so it doesn’t flop over like the standard hinged lids.
The removable tank makes it so much easier – I walk over to fill it from my 5Gal water dispenser and pop it back in and for some reason this just feels so much easier than opening the top of a machine and pouring water in.
I was also looking for something with a mesh filter to avoid disposable filters and extra waste. Program feature works flawlessly and there was hot coffee waiting in the morning! I do get grounds for “mesh” but standard store grounds are usually big enough grind size it’s fine with these type of filters.
The classic setting made delicious coffee, I usually use bold/strong settings but I didn’t find it necessary. The programming did take me 2-3 tries to get it right (mine wanted to stay on small batch for some reason) but once you set it, it also keeps your setting until you change it.
This is perfect because I make the same size batch, same time every morning unless people are coming over or something. The buttons take a firm touch (it is the raised surface type rather than a plastic key) so that can be weird to get used to.
The warming plate can be set to stay on up to 4 hours. I just discovered that you can also just turn the plate on by itself later to heat up your pot without a whole brew cycle. I haven’t ever seen that on my old machines, but I also haven’t bought a new one in about 7 years, so it’s a new feature to me! I just noticed the little spoon attached to the side of the machine – very handy! I have one scooper in my main coffee jar but this is cool to have one handy if I use a different coffee, and I can’t lose it (in theory) since it attaches right to the side.
Overall super happy with this machine. I did get the $10 add on warranty just because I have broken carafes on accident before and with it being my first Ninja appliance and not sure what to expect. Hoping this machine lasts because it’s amazing so far!.
There is only the two of us and we used our Keurig single cup more than anything. With winter upon us our company would drink more hot drinks than anything but our Mr Coffee quit working. So I went on a search for a new coffee maker and I found this 12-Cup Coffee maker.
We own several Ninja kitchen products and love them a lot so why not their coffee maker. I really like the cone shape reusable filter and by the taste of it this makes better tasting coffee. The removable water reservoir makes it so easy and less messy to fill.
If you want 1 cup of coffee this maker is the one for you. Most morning I make 4 cups but my Yeti cup will hold at least 3 cups so making 4 is great for me. There is a small batch button that makes 1-4 and this is what I use daily.
As with most Ninja appliances there is a beep that alerts you when the coffee is done no matter if it is 1 cup or 12 cups. It will keep your coffee left in the pot hot for 1 – 4 hours depending on the time you set in the setting.
I just left it on 2 hours. The lid may be difficult at first but once you get the hang of how the lid actually fits on the Carafe it is so nice. It kind of snaps on in groves and then locks on so there is no chance of it falling off.
The coffee runs through the top and down a straw like device under the lid so it can distribute the coffee and flavor all over instead of going in one spot. One of the best parts of the Carafe is the spout.
It is constructed so there is little to no chance of spilling while pouring coffee or dripping after pouring. I think it really works as described. The coffee is hot and with the warming plate on it will stay hot.
If you make your coffee the night before and want it to start brewing the next morning at a certain time there is a delayed brew button for that. You just have to select that button and set the time.
If you are like me, I forget when I last cleaned my coffee pot and the best part is after a couple hundred pots there is a clean button that will light up to remind you of this. The time is easy to set as well.
This coffee maker has never let me down or disappointed me in anyway. If you are in search of a coffee maker this one is for you.
My previous maker was an overpriced (though functional) Cuisinart maker. The warming plate eventually rusted out, and unhelpfully, Cuisinart does not offer replacement parts, so the whole unit went into the trash (the wastefulness of this actually really bothers me).
Anyway, on to purchasing the Ninja on sale recently – still overpriced IMO. The unit functions fine, but none of the options seem to produce anything better than a cheap Mr. Coffee brewer. And to my surprise, even though it has a fancy carafe with a special locking lid, the carafe leaks hot coffee from the joint between the glass and the plastic.
I just contacted Ninja and they tried to tell me that the entire carafe is not covered under warranty! They gave in and said they would send a replacement, but the lead time is 4-6 weeks! Another overpriced brewer with flaws.
And based on the materials I see in this unit, I seriously doubt it will last that long overall. I’d probably return it but it seems like box stores no longer sell reasonably priced products of decent quality.

Reviews From Real Customers
It’s a very nice coffee machine, in that it can make both a single cup of coffee, both from a k-cup and from your own ground coffee, and full carafe of 1. 5-1. 6 liters of coffee (that’s around 55 oz in the archaic measurement system).
It takes some time to figure out how to use it, but that’s because it can do all these things: how to slide cover forward and backward to either install a k-cup adapter or to use the basket for ground coffee without the adapter; to use the k-cup adapter you need to slide another part of the adapter cover forward to open it.
The machine itself has stickers that explain how to slide the covers to do what you want, so this is simple and after you used it couple of times, seems quite logical. Also, the user interface is also quite logical, and the machine detects how it it configured (if the k-cup adapter is installed or not) and lights up only controls that are relevant for the current configuration – this is quite intuitive.
The resulting coffee tastes good – I compared brewing the same amount of the same coffee the coffee in my hairo v-60 pourover and in this machine, it tastes similar, although the Ninja machine uses twice less time to brew, (around 2 min vs 4-5 min, in pourover), which can explain the slightly weaker coffee form Ninja machine – you probably could use more coffee grounds to make it stronger.
At least, the machine does the initial ‘bloom’ of the coffee. As you listen for it to work, there is a distinct phase at the beginning of it gurgling and dispersing initial small amount of hot water to the coffee, then it stops and waits for some time, comparable to what I do to bloom coffee grounds in the pourover, so this is good.
The machine also has a milk froster on the side that I have not yet tried to use, but I’m sure I will get to it sometime soon. I took away one star for: a) it indicates all measurements in ozes (ounces) – I needed to do a lot of mental arithmetic to convert all this into grams.
b) some problems with k-cups: so far, during the time I had it, I used already around 10 k-cups in it. With one type of k-cup it just fails to pierce the top: the three thick needles it uses to pierce the top of the k-cup are just too short, and I think the material of the foil on the top of these k-cup is kind of stretchy, so the needles just stretch it not enough to break.
I solved this by slashing the k-cup top with a knife, so that the hot water can get into the k-cup. Second problem with the k-cups was, with one of the k-cups, some (small) amount of the grounds of coffee got into a cup.
This probably also could be attributed to the shortness of the needles that pierce the top of k-cup: this time the needles made the holes, but not deep and tight enough, so that the hot water carried some grounds up over the top of the k-cup and then these grounds went down into the coffee.
But so far this happened on 1 of the 10 k-cups I used, and the amount of ground in the coffee was very small, so this is not a deal breaker. I remember this happened from time to time with our old original Keurig machine that we had several years ago, we could live with this.
So, my general verdict is, this Ninja coffee maker is very nice – definitely the best that I owned so far. It’s not cheap, but I think for me it will worth it over time, if it proves to be durable.
I have purchased many pod coffee makers, regular coffee makers, very expensive specialty coffee makers, and 2 Keurig K Duo Plus 12-Cup Single Serve and Carafe Coffee Maker. I really loved my Keurig, used it a lot with my large family.
They averaged about 2 years use before their end of “coffee life”. When I saw this Ninja Dual Brew Pro maker I decided to give it a try. WOW, I love it! It is very easy to use and I love the Frother.
It froths quickly, in seconds, and when done you just twists it off, rinse, quick dry and put it back for the next time as your coffee finishes brewing. I have not tried brewing a pot of coffee yet, but based on the pod experience I am sure it will be just as good.
They only small complaint might be because of the three holes it punches into the pods for a better brew, I get a very minimal amount of coffee grinds in the bottom of my cup. Very slight, so it doesn’t bother me.
This also happened time from time with my Keurig maker. So overall, I love this Ninja Coffee maker and have highly recommended it to my family and friends, who also loved their coffee that I made with frothing flavored creamers and half & half (both reg & lite)! Best of all, I got all this for a better price then to replace my Keurig that I loved before this Ninja came along.
I also would have liked to be able to buy a service contract, but QVC said they didn’t offer one on this product. Hopefully it will last at least as long or longer then my Keurig’s did, average 2yrs.
but I use my coffee maker probably a lot more then the average home.
We are a family who drinks LOTS of coffee. Hot coffee. Our old, 14 cup brewer quit working. We decided to try this Ninja, with neat little attachments. The frother works great, but is messy if you’re planning on using it for more than one cup.
We place an empty juice glass under it to catch drips in between uses. We only use it on weekends, so it’s not an everyday thing. I think a separate, hand held frother is more practical, but if you like the idea of storing your frother ON your coffee maker, then you will appreciate this feature.
I like the removable water reservoir, it makes filling easier. The carafe lid frustrates me – sometimes it attaches quite easily, other times, it takes multiple twists to get it on, just the right way.
There are no indicators, or obvious markings to show exactly how to get it to attach in the right direction on the first try. The delay brew setting could be better. After your initial set up of: brew style, time to brew and how many ounces to brew; you have to press the “delay” button a minimum of FOUR times to set it.
So, every night, you will be pressing “delay” FOUR times. And, don’t rush through this – if you accidentally press it five times, you have to go through it again: delay/hour, minute, ounces, delay. You would think, with all the bells and whistles on this thing, you could set up the delay to work with the press of ONE button.
The k-cup adapter is nice. It’s an included accessory/attachment you will need to wash and store separately. I like the ability to set the full carafe aside (onto an oven mitt or other heat resistant surface) to brew a k-cup (you will need to insert the k-cup attachment) or “to-go” cup of any flavor and size (8, 10, 12, 15 or 18 ounces), then replace the carafe on the warming plate, back to warm.
I haven’t used the specialty coffee setting – I think it brews a 4 oz size – or the iced coffee setting. I haven’t had an issue with water leaking as some other reviewers have mentioned. I’ve only used the hot/boil water feature to warm up empty thermoses and warm up a sinkful of clean, cold dish washing soapwater.
I hand wash all the parts. I’ll mention, again, my dislike for the carafe lid; it has a tube or straw-like piece attached to the underside of it, to direct the brewed coffee down into the carafe?? – it’s weird, and a pain to wash.
You need a long, slender brush, like a reusable straw brush, to wash it. I think this coffee maker is probably better suited for people who use k-cups or don’t drink as much hot coffee as we do. Ideally, for us, a 14 cup carafe with a NORMAL lid would have been much better.
But, it brews quickly enough to make more coffee. I think it’s overpriced at $200. I wouldn’t say I LOVE this coffee maker. It does work well, but I think it’s just OK.

Reviews From Real Customers
I’m been a Mr. Coffee guy for over 30 years and this is my first purchase on any other brand coffee maker. All my coffee makers have had the auto timer, pause while brewing , and auto shut off. So on a recommendation from my brother who swears by his Cuisinart grind and brew’s that have served him well over the years.
So I took a leap of faith and bought this one from Kohls with a gift card I had received from work for Christmas. I even got it on sale at $119. 00 and saved $20 bucks. I normally buy only black, but I admit I loved the stainless steel black on black look.
Got it home and unboxed it wanting to love this machine. I pictured strong dark robust coffee with smells to match filling the house. Turned the unit on the high heat setting, installed the water filter after prepping it for first time use as the directions instructed, ran 3 full Carafe’s of water through the unit to make sure all the impurities were out of the new unit and finally got to load it up with my favorite daily coffee I use which is Black Silk by Folgers.
I used the measuring scoop that came included with the unit following the instruction like clockwork on how much to put in for the amount I was brewing and pressed brew. There I was; waiting impatiently to try this cup I was sure was going to change my life for the better.
To be honest and fair, I probably had my expectations set too high for the coffee this machine was going to make; but for double the price of my Mr. Coffee I expected double the flavor? I didn’t get that.
Not saying it was bad coffee; it was hot, brewed about the same speed as my old one, and even had a better qu7ality carafe then my Mr. Coffee. But I was somehow disappointed. So jump forward 2 months and know that we on average brew 3 full pots a day and I still can’t really tell the difference in taste of the coffee or even by the quality of the unit itself.
It still drips a few drops when I use the pause-n-brew feature, it doesn’t produce much aroma, it only has a 2 hour timer on the heat plate to keep the carafe warm. with no option to change. (My Mr. Coffee had a 2hr- 3hr & 4hr option on it and I must admit I miss that feature a lot!).
Brew time is the same or just a little longer than the Mr. Coffee , but the carafe is definitely of much higher quality material and I do like it. All in all this is a good machine, but to me it’s not worth double the cost of the Mr.
Coffee ones. So if you wanted an honest review their it is. Happy shopping and good luck on your next coffee maker purchase.
We have been using this coffee maker daily for over a month since we purchased it. Overall very well built, maybe not so well designed in some things. The glass pot itself is solid – the handle and the lid are well done, no concerns of falling apart.
When removing the pot from the hotplate to pour there have been zero drops of coffee on to the plate. The pot slides in and out effortlessly (serious issue on our last maker by a different manufacturer).
Coffee is hot even on medium setting. And surprisingly we are using a lot less coffee grounds to make the same strength coffee as previous maker (we do use the bold setting, unless a dark roast). Another difference between the previous maker, which was admittedly low-end, if you fill 10 cups in the reservoir you get 10 cups of coffee in the pot – we would lose up to 2 cups of coffee after brewing stopped in previous maker.
We use filtered water so no need for their water filters. I’ll end with the only problems of an otherwise great coffee maker. Filling the reservoir you can make a bit of a mess if you are not a little careful because of the large piece that holds the hinge of the filling area.
This has not been an issue just be aware. The one things that is a problem is opening the lid even the next day results in as much as an ounce of water pouring down the back of the unit on to the counter.
The only thing that I have been able to do to reduce this is wedge a paper towel at the hinge, and replace every so often. Just an example of poor consumer testing and design – not a deal breaker though, just a hassle.
This coffee maker is ALMOST perfect for me. I love this machine, but if Cuisinart did just a couple of minor tweaks, it would be perfection. These are very minor complaints, but us coffee people expect a lot.
Firstly, if only the back lid would flex back just a little more so that pouring out of the 14 cup decanter would be easier when it gets to the last of the water. Secondly, when lifting the lid, some water from the inside will trickle down the back of the unit, leaving some water droplets down below.
Maybe this is being too picky, but for those of us that have their coffee maker on a wood surface, it poses a small issue. I’ve always placed every coffee make I’ve owned on my wood furniture piece with no issues.
Other than those two things, it’s a great coffee maker, and the first I’ve had that houses 14 cups! Let me tell you, when company comes over, it makes life easier. Not that my husband and I ever go through that much coffee in a day, ahem.
It also beeps to let you know it’s brewed and again when the warming feature has concluded. There’s another button for those that like their coffee bold and a 1-4 cup button. It’s programmable so you can have coffee waiting for you as soon as your eyes open, and it even let’s you know when it needs to be cleaned.
I use the cone-type filter, but the traditional basket filters also work. I think you can even go without one and just rinse it clean, but I find just tossing the grounds in the paper filter easier. Overall, I am very pleased with the performance and would definitely recommend!.

Reviews From Real Customers
I purchased a Technivorm Moccamaster during Christmas 2021 after years of chasing the perfect “Coffee Shop” style coffee at home. I have been through countless coffee makers, and manual drip systems, coffee presses, etc.
While a cone style coffee drip makes a decent cup, this system is not feasible for making large quantities of coffee. Enter the Technivorm Moccamaster. While the initial cost was a bit higher than other competitors, the quality is well worth it.
The Moccamaster is a solid built, java work-horse. I love its simplicity, and lack of sophisticated modes, timers, etc. A perfect cup of coffee is one button away. Further, with a removable cone, the entire appliance is easily cleaned, so as to prevent built-up residue from running the taste of your coffee.
This brewer brews at the perfect temperature, for the perfect time, resulting in the perfect cup of coffee. I opted to purchase the model with the glass carafe, as 10 cups of coffee typically don’t last beyond an hour in my home, and I love how glass is easy to clean, and does not retain smells or tastes.
Further, Technivorm’s customer service was fast and responsive after I contacted them with a question, and they offer a great warranty on their products. All in all, this is a solid coffee maker, and the price more than justifies the quality.
Our current machine started to leak and that’s always a sign that it is doomed. I started searching for something a bit higher end and stumbled across the Moccamaster. I looked at various retailers for a deal but no luck, until I hit Nordstroms pre-anniversary sale and saw that they had an exclusive color on sale.
First impression in person, it looks cheap. All the plastic. So much plastic! I just left a steel machine with next to no plastic pieces to avoid chemicals. Anyway, once I got over the shock of now drinking from heated plastic, I decided to try it out.
I love the Juniper color! It’s a nice, rich green that doesn’t scream for attention. The cup of coffee this thing produced, I’ve never experienced before. I went back for more coffee because the taste was incredible compared to the machine I’ve been using.
It managed to pull out so much more flavor from our beans that I am hooked! I still hate the plastic and I’m not sure if I will ever get past it completely.
I recently purchased this item with the high hopes that it would be the coffee brewer to end all coffee brewers. It fell short of its mark. The grind dispenser is awkward and quite flimsy. It doesn’t smoothly latch into position.
The piece is very light plastic, and that being said, I expected a better design and feel at this higher price point. The second issue, more importantly, is the machine’s inability to maintain heat. The heat loss is significant after 30 minutes.
The issue is a combination of a poorly insulated glass carafe and a lower heating element that can’t do it’s job. I do appreciate the simplicity of the machine, as I prefer this “analog” two switch options over digital.
Pricey machine for what you get in return. There are better coffee brewers out there. I will continue my quest!.

Reviews From Real Customers
My second Cuisanart coffee maker. The first was a stalwart carafe style that was still going strong after 6 years. Pros: HUGE capacity. Great feature, especially for lazy Sunday mornings, or work from home days.
Bold strength button. Literally use it for every pot. It really makes a difference. Selectable warming feature. I’ve left it set on the middle setting, and the coffee remains hot and tasty hours after brewing.
Cons: Hard to remove the lid. Why isn’t it like every other coffee pot in existence which easily opens and closes? It’s pain to take off and put back on. Really an issue when you try to clean the pot.
Hard to fill up. Probably because of the hard to remove lid, you always end up spilling water on your counter when trying to fill the reservoir. In over a month of owning, I’ve tried everything, but no matter what the angle, I still end up spilling water on the counter….
Pro tip, save the paper towel you use to wipe the counter up to wipe the warming plate if you try to utilize the shutoff feature when you try to pour a cup before the brewing has stopped. All in all, a solid coffee maker that makes a great pot of coffee.
Seems to be over engineered, but falls short when it comes to real world application. I looked past a lot of reviews that clearly stated the issues I found with this particular coffee maker. Figured it was user error of the review posters, but they were spot on.
Probably the last Cuisanart product I’ll buy.
I like that this Cuisinart coffeemaker has all I needed to brew the first cup except for the water and coffee. I chose a favorite blend coffee and either my usual filtered or unfiltered well water. Filtered is better.
This machine is a fine brew maker. The tone that announces the brew is ready is shrill, a cat or dog may find it objectionable but it can be turned off if you wish. A lower whistle sound would be better.
I notice the warming plate temperature must be set prior to starting the brew cycle. There is no option to change it until the next brew cycle and the warming plate does stay on for many hours. Not an all day warming but long enough to enjoy a full pot of coffee.
Be aware there may be a small puddle of condensation on your table/countertop behind the machine if you open the lid before it shuts down after keeping your pot warm for hours. Not a problem really, just be aware of its possibility.
Oh yes, the included unpacking instructions will help you avoid my mistake of watching the carafe bounce on the floor because I did not heed or read the instructions.

COPPER BOILING ELEMENT FOR PERFECT BREWING The boiling elements for the Technivorm Moccamaster are made of antibacterial copper. This guarantees the perfect brewing temperature of 92-96 degree C. Hot and delicious coffee, that’s Moccamaster’s promise! UNIQUE DESIGN MADE OF SUSTAINABLE MATERIALS The Technivorm Moccamaster has a solid aluminium body that will last a lifetime with easy-to-clean removable BFA-free parts.
Using recycable materials, the Technivorm Moccamaster is a sustainable long-lasting and silent coffee machine. CERTIFIED BY ECBC AND SCA Technivorm Moccamaster works closely together with leading international coffee research centres such as the European Coffee Brewing Centre and the Speciality Coffee Association.
The 10-cup coffee (1. 25 L) is brewed quiet and fast in 5-6 minutes with Auto-Safety Shut-Off (AO) safety feature. Compatible with 1 x 4 filters. FOR SMALL AND LARGE QUANTITIES the new Moccamaster KBG Select has a new selector switch, so you can easily choose between a full or half jug.
When the half jug is selected, the water runs more slowly on the coffee grounds. The result is an aromatic cup of coffee with a full taste. This edition of the Technivorm Moccamaster has the UK power plug attached, so no adapter is needed.
Reviews From Real Customers
We own both the thermos and glass carafe variants. Both make excellent coffee if you drink it within 20 minutes. The design and finish are attractive on both, and brewing temperature is excellent and consistent.
Carafe: The glass carafe keeps coffee hotter longer, which can be a convenience, but the taste and smell degrade quickly heated by the burner plate, becoming noticeably less palatable after 30+ minutes.
In terms of function, inserting the glass carafe into the machine is a bit awkward, rubbing the glass on the burner plate is not pleasant, and the plastic lid has to push up the spring-loaded device that halts the brewing when the carafe is removed.
It just lacks the satisfying feel of a well-designed device. Thermos: The thermos version holds taste better longer, but loses optimal serving temperature relatively quickly. If taste is the ultimate measure, I am convinced the thermos version is preferable.
If Technovorm could design a more efficient thermos that could keep coffee hotter longer, there is no question that would be better than the carafe for both taste and convenience.
I used this machine for two weeks to make sure I had the right grind for optimum flavor. Once I was happy I brought back out the Bovavida BV1901GW it was replacing. I Brewed my favorite pot of Ethiopian Yirgacheffe in each machine and poured a cup of each.
My wife and I could not taste a difference after blind testing each other. So both make a fantastic cup of coffee. I though there might be a difference between the flat bottom of the Bonavita and the cone filter of the TV, but we could not taste anything.
The Technivorm is such a wonderful work of art to behold. I confess this was one of my reasons for the “upgrade”. I just looks so cool on my counter. Knowing that it comes with a 5 year warranty is reassuring, however I do find that all the plastic parts feel extremally thin when compared to the Bonavida parts.
Even the glass carafe seems lighter. I’m wondering if they would not stand up to a drop as well as the Bonavida. The brew time surprisingly is almost exactly the same, but for the final drain of the filter basket.
With the TV set to the half pot setting it finishes the bulk of the brew within seconds of the other brand. The other, with its flat bottom basket, does allow the last bit of water to drain out faster where the TV takes longer for that last little bit.
Perhaps due to the nature of the cone vs. the flat bottom. The cone having that concentration of grounds right at the pointy end of the basket. I also like that the warming plate stays on for over an hour and half.
I know you will say “but that burns the coffee”. I never found a big difference there. Maybe after a much longer time. The Bonavida shuts off after 40 mins which I found to quick. I promised myself if the Technivorm Moccamaster did not brew a better cup I was going to return it, this final day of the return policy.
I am very happy to say it will be staying exactly where it sits. While I honestly can’t say it brews a better cup, it does brew a top notch cup just the same. If there is a difference it is truly a hair splitting issue.
[This does say a lot for the Bonavida] Bottom line. The Technivorm is the higher priced unit. If that is not an issue then it is the one to buy. Its beautiful, it carries a great warranty, its hand made and individually tested in the factory in The Netherlands. [The Bonavida is made in China] If I had to do it again I would have gone with the Moccamaster years ago when I bought the Bonavida. Aesthetics always plays a part in my purchase decisions so I am surprised, looking back, that I didn’t buy it then. All said and done my pick goes for the Technivorm Moccamaster KBGV Select for the win. By a nose perhaps, but a win is a win. As they say in Formula One racing, second place is simply the first looser.
Cheers to idrinkcoffee. com A great place to purchase Technivorm products.
We bought this a month ago to replace a old Cuisinart coffee maker and are unhappy. While the Moccamaster does brew hotter and faster, we prefer the taste from our previous machine which was a fraction of the cost.
Also the quality of the Moccamaster is disappointing – excessive use of plastic, and several thin and flimsy parts. The glass carafe looks surprisingly fragile. After purchasing from Crate & Barrel we were also disappointed to find that other retailers offer a different selection of colors, including some we would have preferred.
In all, this machine does not live up to expectations and is certainly not worth the premium price. We tried returning the machine, as we don’t like the performance, and were surprised to find that Crate & Barrel would not take a return.
Expensive lesson learned. Disappointing that Crate & Barrel does not stand behind their products.

Reviews From Real Customers
We love our Cuisinart 12 Cup Coffee Maker. More importantly, the brewed coffee is delicious! Place your cup on the tray, and a watch your cup fill up under the lighted lever. It is easy to take apart to make the coffee, and the water reservoir is sturdy and clear.
The coffee is much hotter than our previous Hamilton Beach. Don’t forget to set it for 4 hours! I ordered additional charcoal water filters, to change the recommended every 30 days. However, Cuisinart, the weirdest thing is the very short power cord.
But no matter, I ordered a short 2 ft black extension that gives me the length to pull the coffee maker from under the counter to make the coffee. Another weird thing was the basket for the coffee has a handle that actually interferes as you dump the grounds into the trash.
I removed the handle and it’s still easy to remove and empty. Even for these flaws, it produces the best tasting coffee. You will not regret your purchase.
I am disappointed with my purchase. I thought I could fill the water reservoir and then program the machine for how many cups of coffee I wanted to brew. That way I would t have to fill the reservoir every day before making coffee.
This is not the case as all the water gets used as I found out the first time I went to make my 4 cups of coffee. Another disappointing feature is all the crevices and angles of the coffee holding area.
Makes it very difficult to clean. Also when you lift the lid to pull the coffee grounds and coffee reservoir out to clean, water left from the top of the lid runs down into the heated area where the coffee reservoir goes.
So you have to make sure you wipe out that area before replacing everything. I wish I would have purchased another brand.
I love the design because no pods are required. Eliminating all the plastic choking our oceans is very important to me. I gave 4 rather than 5 stars because the basket always over flows, leaving grounds scattered outside the basket.
Grounds also accumulate on the inside of the top where the water dispenses over the grounds. This happens even when only 4 cups are brewed. I havent brewed 12 yet but assume a bigger mess of grounds would be the result.
I think the basket is too small to hold all the water and grounds as it is brewing + a larger one would elimate this problem. Other than that this issue, love dispensing one cup at a time during the day.
Brews quickly + stays warm for the 6 hours I have set it to be on.

I am very impressed with my Programmable Coffeemaker. I grind my own beans and the Cuisinart does a great job of accepting a shorter grind and providing a superior taste. I love the variable automatic cutoff settings and carafe warming levels.
I find we can set it to keep our coffee warm for four hours at the lowest level and the coffee is almost as good at the fourth hour as it was at the first refill. It is so simple to change the settings, but it is even better that they retain the previous settings unless changed by the user.
Aside from occasional variations in my schedule, my morning coffee only takes two touches to the screen. Highly recommended!.

I’ve tried a few different at home coffee makers in the past and this one is by far my favorite. I’ve had my current one for 3+ years (likely more but I can’t remember!) and have never had an issue! I always liked the single serving idea of a Keurig but was always disappointed with the pitiful cup of coffee it would make even on the highest setting.
That’s definitely not the case when using the Hamilton Beach 2-Way Brewer! I get the right amount of coffee every time! It perfectly fills my 16 oz. Tervis tumbler with just enough room for some sweetened creamer.
Have guests staying the night or need some extra caffeine to get through the day? Then just flip the switch to brew an entire 12 cup pot of coffee! The single serve brewer portion uses a reusable mesh filter.
Just simply fill with your favorite ground coffee, brew, dump the used grounds in the trash, and rinse! It’s that easy! For the multi-cup brew side you’ll need to use a coffee filter but that also makes for easy clean-up.
I’ve only used the programmable feature a few times but it works lovely. I mean who doesn’t want to wake up to the smell of freshly brewed coffee? ☕.
It’s definitely a great coffee maker. I bought this one a year ago but then got rid of it and went with a $200 maker thinking it would be better and it’s not. I’m once again gonna be buying this unit again because when I had it before it worked so great and trust me when I say it works better then most of the expensive ones for I have just about had them all.
I like bying coffee makers and seeing what ones work best and honestly this pot definitely stands at the top of the list. You can’t make kcups in this unit however with the crazy price of kcups why would you want to anyways.
This machine comes with a nice basket to add in a healthy amount of your own coffee grounds for a single cup and the flavor of the coffee comes out tasting great everytime. Doesn’t have a water tank on it you simply poor the water in the top left tank before brewing fill it up to the line don’t overfill it as its brewing you can always add in more water to fill that bigger mug you might have.
! Easy to clean the tank like most coffee makers you just add a mixture of white vinegar and water and dump it into the tank run a few cycles through and let it sit for about 15 minutes then run wtaer through it about 5 times to get all the vinegar out and you once again have fresh tasting coffee.
Note: its always a great idea to clean your coffee maker at least once a week. !!.
Love this coffee maker! I recently purchased to replace an old one of the same model that was fairly heavily used for more than 5years, possibly 7. It still would make coffee, but there must have been a hole in the tubing somewhere as it made so much noise when brewing and expelled so much steam, my cabinets that were above the pot were getting affected.
I figured trying to find the problem would be too difficult, so just bought another. I have to say I tried to go a bit cheaper and first purchased a regular Black and Decker maker, but it had so man6 issues I didnt like, one of which was the cup designations on the carafe did not even come close to the designation on the water tank.
I never knew how much I was really making unless I measured with a measuring cup. Also the area where you put the water in was partially blocked by the mechanism that dispensed the water on the coffe grounds.
poor design. This Hamilton Beach is FAR superior for the small difference in price, plus it has the option of brewing just one cup, which I find very convenient. My only issue is that this new one came without the pod basket which is used if using coffee pods, which I do occasionally.
Wish I was smart enough to have saved the one from my old pot, but because I didnt originally buy the same model, didnt think I needed it. I have reached out to Hamilton Beach customer support to ask for one to be sent and am waiting to hear back.
If I cant get one, I will purchase another pot, remove the pod basket and return it, explaining the situation.

This coffee maker works well. I previously owned another brand that was similar to this one but developed a leak. I decided to upgrade to Cuisinart with better features. The other machine developed a “sometime” leak.
That is it would sometimes leak but not every time it was used. When it did the counter would be covered in water. I have other Cuisinart products that are excellent quality. This product has a lot of nice features I like.
It may not seem like an important feature but the light over the pouring area is very nice. If you have cups with dark insides you will know the importance. It has easy to read and use features that are not complicated.

Been using about 2 weeks now. I love the dispenser feature. Like many other reviewers, I often seem to spill coffee when pouring from a carafe. I really like the reusable, gold tone filter basket. No need for paper filters, but you can use them instead, if you like, if you want less of the fine coffee sediment in your cup.
The alarm that goes off when coffee is done brewing is a nice one, not too loud. Also very handy that you can set how long the warmer stays on before it turns itself off (0 -2 hours). If you have a crowd coming, you can make the coffee more in advance and it will keep it warm for you.
It’s easy to take apart to clean each part after use. Some reviews have referred to the very short cord. It’s actually longer than it looks. Just give it a gentle pull and more cord will emerge from the bottom.
It would help if Cuisinart included this in their set up directions. Neither of these are show stoppers, but if you are someone who is only making 1 or 2 cups, beware that the gauge that tells you how much brewed coffee is in the reservoir is not very accurate.
For the gauge to register anything, you must fill the water tank to at least the 3 cup line before brewing. Then the gauge jumps from empty to the first line. It takes 3, 6 oz cups of water to fill to the water tank to the 3 cup line.
Also wish coffee maker was 1/2 inch shorter so that I could push it back under my cabinet when not in use. My kitchen cabinet bottoms are a pretty standard 14. 5 from the counter top, the height of this coffee maker, so while close, doesn’t fit.

Handmade by the Technivorm staff in their factory in the Netherlands, each Moccamaster is built with a heating element that monitors brew temperature to ensure that your coffee is brewed in ideal conditions.

The machine can brew up to 8 cups of coffee in just six minutes and it is recommended that you pre-heat the thermal carafe ahead of time and brew an entire 10 cups in order to ensure temperature stability.
The water reservoir is made of clear plastic and is labeled with increments from 2 to 8 cups allowing you to measure the precise amount of water you need. When adding ground coffee, the Moccamaster is compatible with both paper and gold tone filters.
The Moccamaster also features Technivorm’s drip stop brew basket that allows you to brew a half pot, full pot, or stop dripping entirely for a quick cup of coffee before the brew cycle completes.

There’s no questioning the quality of this brewer. It shouts quality construction from the moment it’s pulled out of the box. Another way to describe it: It’s built like a tank. The quality of the coffee it brews is excellent.
One minor wish would be to have an automatic bloom pause feature like the Breville. This unit offers a manual option to achieve the same result, but it involves adjusting the basket aperture lever to the closed position while the unit is still brewing, This isn’t a big deal, and some may even question whether they notice any noticeable difference between blooming and and not blooming the grounds.
The only real issue I have with the unit is that the brew basket aperture lever doesn’t move smoothly as it shifts from 100% open, to 50% open, and then closed, and is difficult to adjust while the basket is on the machine.
But this is really only a minor criticism and not significant enough for me to give is less than 5 stars. The carafe is well insulated and like the rest of the unit, is exceptionally well designed and constructed.
It may not have all the bells and whistles of the Breville, but the coffee is brews, in my opinion, is just as good. I have no doubt that this brewer will be making great coffee long after I’ve departed for the great coffee shop in the sky.
Took a flyer on this as I was looking to upgrade the quality of my daily cup of morning drip coffee, and my existing coffee maker was always very good but not great and getting long in the tooth. I was gobsmacked by how immediate, obvious, and significance the improvement was with this Moccamaster brewer, literally from the first sip of the first cup I brewed with it.
My prior brewer was nothing special but was highly rated by Consumer Reports – a Michael Kors for Target unit that came in 2nd only to a Cuisinart unit – you know, the $100-$120 Cuisinart that changes model numbers from time to time but is always decently regarded.
I also did not change my coffee, my grinder, my water filtering, or the grind settings – everything remained the same except for the brewer. For its usual price of $300 I would still recommend it, but for me that’s pushing it.
For the Drop price of $200, though, it’s a fantastic value and a no-brainer. In the 2+ years since I got it, everyone who has stayed at our home or otherwise had occasion to have our coffee has commented, unsolicited, on how great it tastes.
This Moccamaster brewer is one of relatively few products I would recommend without hesitation.
Maybe my wife and I have a dulled sense of taste but we didn’t find a difference in coffee taste from the $90 Cuisinart that this unit replaced. We tried different beans and even different spring water.
Even my home roasted beans didn’t help. The unit works fine but is a bit flimsy. You have to watch for the brewing to end as there is no indicator. So, if you withdraw the carafe the coffee will continue to drip onto the plastic tray below.
To avoid this there is a manual option to stop the dripping. It does brew quickly. People remarked on being dissatisfied that the carafe has no pour lip but I didn’t find that to be a problem. I loved the carafe; the coffee stays hot.
We are just disappointed that we didn’t have the positive experience that others have had, especially since this unit is so expensive.

I have an older model of this 2 in 1 coffee ☕maker, which I received as a wedding gift back in 2014. This machine has been used daily, if not multiple times a day sometimes, in both the regular full pot mode and in the the single cup mode (in K cup AND in mini basket brew modes) without ever experiencing any issues.
I have used regular ground coffee, espresso grind, and coffee beans I ground myself all with the same results. I have also used regular K cups and the plastic self. filling reusable K cups without any issues.
The only style of K cup that DOES NOT work in this machine due to the K cup mode design is the style of some store brands that have just an open bag for their pods, not the traditional plastic cup. This is due to the placement of the needle toap pierces the K cup not reaching it.
My only side recommendation is to invest in the gold plated basket if they’re still selling it separately, and to still use a paper coffee filter in it for less bitterness in your coffee and easier clean up.
I have recommended this machine to several friends who bought it and loved it as much as I have. Hamilton Beach (49957) FlexBrew Coffee Maker, Single Serve Full Coffee Pot, Compatible with Single-Serve Pods or Ground Coffee, Programmable, Black.
Conclusion
The auto shut off coffee maker is a great way to brew coffee without having to worry about it burning or getting too hot. The machine will automatically shut off when the coffee is done brewing, so you can enjoy a fresh cup of coffee without having to worry about it.
