20 Best Adirondack Chairs For Fire Pit (2023 Updated)

This Adirondack chair was a good purchase all around! I bought two of them at different times. One I picked up at the store all assembled, and the other one I had delivered to me for free. To my surprise, the one that was delivered to my house was delivered unassembled.

I just assumed that it was to be delivered assembled. That’s about the only mishap I had ordering these chairs. They are very sturdy and were on sale at the time. Much more reasonable than the chairs that we were going to buy from an outdoor furniture manufacturer in town! We will buy a couple more when the right colors that we need are available.

Mike, at the Hutchinson, MN store was great to work with! I didn’t have room in my vehicle the first time I saw these chairs, so he save one for me so that I could pick it up on the weekend. I appreciated that!.

I loved these chairs when I saw them in the store so ordered 4! Once delivered and set up in the sunshine, they look like cheap plastic. The finish that appeared fine in the store, is uneven in the sun.

(IT is smooth in places and an orange peel texture in other areas. ) Mine do not have the woodgrain appearance as noted in the details. That being said, the chairs are a great shape and comfortable. They appear sturdy and weigh enough I think the will stay put during usual Kansas winds.

Going to AFW to buy these chairs was the best decision we made. There are cheaper priced ones out there but so uncomfortable. You pay for what you get. These are heavy and very high quality. The material they are made of doesn’t get hot.

Never needs painted. We had friends over and we got many compliments. We absolutely LOVE color. You can’t go wrong buying these chairs at AFW. Highly recommend!!!.

We bought this set to sit in front of a new outdoor fireplace and it is wonderful. The seats are comfortable and it was easy to put together. I have a few outdoor throw pillows so smaller people do not sink to the back of the chair.

The only reason for 4 instead of 5 is that the tables are foldable and when you try to move them the fold up, but once you realize that it is not much of a problem.

High quality very nice! Easily assembled and enjoying the comfort of the chair. Similar chairs have been uncomfortable after sitting for a while. However, I do not have any comfort issues with the Hamilton chair.

I do utilize a pillow at the small of my back. Highly recommend!.

After days of researching, I decided on the Westport synthetic wood material for all my new patio furniture. I was impressed with their guarantee, the positive feedback from all sources, and that it is made in the USA! After repairing and replacing other types of furniture every few years, I am hoping that this product will last me the rest of my life! This specific chair is more comfortable to me than other Adirondack chairs.

It is more widely proportioned than other similar chairs and it is strong enough to hold larger people. It was very easy to assemble. My only initial concern was that the material seemed a little thinner than wooden chairs.

After working with the synthetic wood during assembly and using it daily, I have discovered that it is extremely durable and strong without the bulk. My only concern is that the synthetic material is lighter in weight and it will have to be anchored during strong winds/storms.

These are a great color for being out at our fire pit. I was tired of wooden Adirondack chairs being adversely impacted by weather. Cheap plastic ones look cheap. Might as well save your money. The resort near our beach house uses Polywood Adirondack chairs by their fire pits and Polywood rockers on each guest room’s porch.

A big expense! As a high-end lodge, they needed durable, weather-resistence, attractive seating. I admired their looks and found them comfortable. I decided that we would buy some for our own fire pit.

Expensive but worth it.

I originally bought 2 chairs for the front porch. Putting them together took about 15 mins. Easy to follow instructions. The chairs are solid and comfortable. I liked them so much I bought 4 more for around the back yard fit.

I bought white chairs, they clean up easy with soap and water. They held up great in the summer sun. Even when in direct sun, the chairs stayed cool to the tough. I am interested how they will hold up in the winter.

Having previously bought Adirondack chairs from Lifetime a couple years back, and having a great experience with the product, I expected the same level of quality with these chairs. However, assembling these chairs was a real pain.

The holes didn’t line up which made putting this together VERY difficult. Also, the seat was cracked underneath. (I will say their support team sent me a new seat part, but I’m so reluctant to take it apart to put the new seat on because it was so difficult to assemble the first time around.

) For the price, I really felt like they could have done a better job with quality assurance making sure that assembly would be seamless.

High quality chair that will last. We had previously purchased 2 of these several years ago in brown. Added a new fire pit last fall and wanted to upgrade from the fold up chairs we had been using. Bought 2 more of these in gray (we were worried they might be close but not quite a match with new and 6 year old brown chairs, so went with deliberate contrast), so now only need the fold-up chairs for more than 4 at the pit.

Assembly will take about 20 minutes – tools are included (hex wrench), and if you have a drill things go much faster. Unfortunately, the “straight” hex driver is not great quality and was stripped after only about half of the assembly was complete, but found a better one in my tool box.

You will need to attach the 2 outside back slats, front and rear legs, and a couple of cross supports (all of the seat slats and most of the back slats are pre-attached). Completely satisfied with the assembled product and expect these to also last for many years.

Really happy with these chairs and assume they will last forever and be much more maintenance free than wood or painted surfaces. Assembly was not bad but I am above average mechanically. The only improvement than should be made is the screws, they are soft.

So is the metal hex head tools that come with it. The screw heads round out very easily and so does the wrench. I used a drill and my own bit but had to be very careful to keep it lined up straight and keep from having any screw on a bind.

One wrong move and the screw strips out and becomes useless. Also, it would be helpful if there was more of a point on the screw to help find the hole. The pre-drilled holes here lined up well. Be sure to only screw in each screw part way until the whole chair is assembled, then go back and tighten them all.

Just be very care with the screws at all time. Very high quality chairs with very low quality screws.

The reason for my low end review is more to the conditions of which the chairs arrived. Parts( screws) were missing. One of the boxes was completely opened and broken. Not just dented or a little rough, but completely opened.

When I questioned the delivery person, they insisted it came to them that way. So, parts were missing. Some of the exterior of the chair was scratched. But due to the nature if the size and bulkiness of the item, returning it seemed more daunting a task than living with it scratched or improvising with the missing parts.

I would definitely encourage going to the store and picking the item up. Many things I have had shipped, both FedEx, UPS and usps from Sams are less than stellar upon arrival. I truly don’t know if the nature of their business is discounted due to volume or it is just luck of the draw, but for some reason, shipped items are usually damaged, missing pieces or lost.

The chairs themselves are a medium quality chair. I definitely would not have them where they were not under a protective cover. They do get incredibly hot if they are sitting in the sun. So don’t allow some bare legged child sit down on them.

They weight maybe 50lbs. So they can be moved but not too easily by the wind. They sit well. Unless you knee/hip issues, then you may get down but never back up out of them. The grey color is a nice shade.

It is early in the season, so I can offer no insight to their durability after a summers use.

I recieved these in June 2022 and assembled and left outside (what they were bought for). They were only used a few times. When I went to use them in August, one was cracked and the other cracked when my husband sat on it.

We and the other user are well under the weight limit. I called and requested a box and shipping label to return them as was told to not worry sending back but I would be credited. I’ve since have to call each week and get a complete run around as to where my credit is.

I welcome Sams to come and get the junk they sold at a high price if that’s what they are waiting for to finally issue my refund! Instead since August I keep getting assured I’m getting the credit and given a new reference number confirming the credit.

I’ve also received email conformation of the credit BUT never the credit on my account!!! Completely frustrated at the time I’ve wasted so far to no avail.

The chairs will fit nicely around our firepit, however the color matches in the different pieces is way off. I’m hoping that with some weathering being outside it will help blend the colors.

Great chairs. The only problem with them was none of the pieces were numbered so we had to figure out what went with what. That was annoying. After they were put together they are beautiful.

Exactly what I was looking for. My teenage son assembled it fairly quickly and easy enough. Even though it comes in pieces, it does not appear “cheap” once put together. It is sturdy and looks “substantial.

” The drawers roll nicely and they provide a generous amount of storage for a night stand of this size. Very pleased with this purchase.

This product is manufactured by a Canadian company. The instructions were pretty clear and they have a few videos on how to assemble their products. I recommend watching the video on drawer assembly when you get to that part of the installation.

I wish I had done that first, prior to messing with it for over an hour. Nightstand is solidly built and looks great!.

This is a great style – tall, nice finish on the wood (particle board, but it looks nice), and the design is modern. The only thing I was kind of dismayed about is that it came COMPLETELY un-assembled.

I mean, it was a nightstand kit. But now that the two we bought have been put together – which took more than an hour – they look really great in the room!.

The nightstand has a compact profile, and it looks very nice in the room. It is exactly what we were looking for. Assembly must have been easy…my teenage son did it.

My night stand arrived in perfect condition. The height was great because I have a high profile mattress. I should of ordered two!

I purchased 2 glider chairs from you about 3 years ago and am very happy with them. That is why I purchased the 2 upright chairs. THey are well made and withstand the elements. The first 2 still look brand new Thank you for making an affordable chair.

I like the way the chairs look on our porch and they are comfortable and sturdy. My husband had a lot of trouble assembling one of them because hole didn’t line up. It was frustrating for him. One of the screws on the leg couldn’t be drilled in all of the way and sticks out.

Assembly of the second chair went more smoothly.

These are really nice chairs. They are very comfortable. The front part of the seat has a nice curve to it so they feel very natural behind your knees. We really love the more upright position but they still lean back just a bit so you are in a nice relaxed seated position.

They really do look like painted wood. They are very heavy-duty and look like they will last a long time. I’ve seen similar chairs for a lot more money online. These are well worth the price.

Overall made well. The only reason it is not a 5 is because I do not know how they will weather over time. I bought them to leave outside all winter and am waiting to see how they will hold up. They fit together tightly and have a great design.

One of the chairs was missing a nut, but a quick call to customer service has a package on it’s way. The only problem I have noticed is they get moved around by the wind. It’s pretty windy where I have them, and have to go out occasionally and put them back.

Waiting to see how they weather. I think this chair is sturdy and light weight and appears to be made of solid resin board but is not. The chair assembly easily snaps together and also has a minimum of screws and washers.

The legs do not have solid pads for lawn use but are great for deck or patio use.

All the five star reviews are warranted from my perspective. It’s even more sturdy then I expected. It worked perfectly for my modifications. I wasn’t sure when I ordered if I’d need to remove the slats on the back to mount the skis but only needed to trim one ski to fit cleanly at the back of the seat.

It is very comfortable for me (as long time sufferer of low back disc problems). I’m able to sit in it for extended periods without needing to shift position or get up. Ease of assembly was great and I quickly had it together.

Just remember not to completely tighten the bolts until you have fully assembled. Certainly would buy again.

These are a beautiful night yellow just as pictured. However, the quality of the wood has me concerned about how they’ll hold up in the long run. The wood isn’t very smooth, it’s got a lot of cracks and deep grooves.

They are covered in a very thick coat of paint which should help, i hope. The description says the back is rounded, it is not. It’s completely flat, unless they were describing the curved top. Pillows and cushions make them reasonably comfortable and i got them on sale with free shipping so along with the fact that i love the sunny yellow we’ll keep them and keep our fingers crossed they last.

We love these chairs! My husband and I gave them to each other for our 50th wedding anniversary. He got the stationary one, but I wanted the rocker. They’re very well made and HEAVY. It took two people to take them around to the back yard.

The red looks beautiful on the dark colored deck. You have some absolute gorgeous other colors as well, but I really really wanted the red. In fact, I kept coming back to them and it kept saying they were out of stock.

As soon as we saw them in stock, we jumped on them! The free shipping and no tax was a HUGE bonus. My daughter needs some new dining chairs to update her mahogany dining table that she inherited from my parents and you can count on us looking here.

In fact, I’m calling her today and letting her know there’s no tax in the stat.

We chose Durawood rockers for our deck along the coast based on neighbors’ recs for long lasting furniture. Seems these chairs will really stand up to the corrosive beach weather. We selected orange for a fun beachy feel, and these chairs are most definitely bright orange.

Seats are deep, comfortable and sturdy. Chairs are heavy, which is good in stormy weather. Shipping boxes were torn apart upon delivery, so a few screws had already fallen out in the driveway. Luckily, we found them all and were able to assemble them.

Screws are stainless steel (important to prevent rust) and also painted to match the chair color – nice touch. A tad pricier than polywood and other heavy plastic competitors.

First, the reason I didn’t give it 5 stars. We ordered SIX chairs and 4 of them came with either NO hardware in the box or the package was missing key pieces. I had to call 2 separate times to get these shipped to me.

Now, the good news. We did a LOT of research and settled on these rockers. We absolutely love them – they’re simple to put together and seem to be very sturdy. The material seems well manufactured, holes line up where they’re supposed to, and they’re very comfortable to sit in.

They have a deep seating area, so big and small tushes should be comfortable. That all said, they HAVE to get their act together in the warehouse – it is simply unacceptable that 67% of my order did not have the correct hardware.

If you’re expecting Amish built quality in this chair you’ll probably be a bit disappointed. However for something to last a few year’s then this may be an option for you. The price was a motivator for us and time will eventually show its value.

The chairs are very sturdy and were not too difficult to put together. However, there were a few small places where the paint was missing. I called the company, hoping they could send a small bottle of touch up paint to me so I could fix it without having to dismantle the chairs and send them back.

I was told that I could take a piece of one of the boards to Home Depot, and they would match the paint for me to purchase. Not too happy about that. Not accommodating at all in my case.

The back and seat portion of painted chairs are already assembled. So went much faster than others i have had. The back brace from rear arm to lower frame is more secure feeling. Than type with no vertical piece at that spot.

These soft wood (fir) chairs always seemed as if the thing would break if the slightest bit of pressure. While lifting and lowering yourself you generally need the arms for a low chair. The vertical piece at back of arm is much better.

We’ve got a mish-mash of seating around our fire pit, like some metal seating, some woven resin chairs, and 2 benches. Unfortunately our metal ones are probably not long for this world — my husband won’t even sit in those because he’s afraid they’re going to fail on him due to rust.

So this chair is a great replacement for one of those. Generally-speaking, I am not a fan of gray and prefer shades of brown, but we do have a brown aluminum gazebo that came with gray curtains, and the hot tub I purchased during the pandemic was sent to me in gray (though I ordered brown), so this chair actually fits right in.

The style of Adirondack chairs, being so low to the ground, aren’t ideal for folks with limited mobility (older folks, let’s say), so that’s a drawback to this, but I like it as it feels relaxing. These materials seem like they’ll hold up to outdoor use for many, many years, so I’m happy about not having to replace them any time soon.

Constructing it was super easy, no more than 15 minutes needed. I’d recommend building it in approximately where you intend to put it as it is quite heavy and awkward to move.

This fire pit set up is gorgeous and lasts though anything. it has seen snow, crazy rain storms, hot scorching summer days, and it still looks fabulous! and the glass cover for the fire is a nice touch.

I love that it comes with the 5 matching chairs which can easily fit around the pit or just around the yard. great for roasting smores or hot dogs on roasting sticks.

These are awesome. Came faster than expected. Super comfortable and easy to put together.
