20 Best 10 Inch Subwoofer For Car (2022 Updated)

The folks at CT are genuine and passionate about their creations. I used 2 of their TROPO-12 subs in a high end design, and I’m loving them so much that I’m replacing the reference KRK 10” subs on the bottom of the towers with some TROPO-10’s now.

These drivers are very musical, pristine, fast, and POWERFUL in properly built enclosures. I’d already designed and built my speakers, and the TS parameters actually were a perfect fit for the sub enclosures! Make sure you have a killer box that’s well made and internally treated, and these subs will be reference level material (which is what I’m using them for in a serious hifi mastering far field monitor suite).

if this is your price range and sound quality is a must don’t hesitate. I’ve never had a skar but I was torn between this or the svr and I think this I made the right choice. Definitely likes to be inverted but response is much more profound in a very narrow hz range.

They take clipped power at 800 plus watts for up to 5 minutes and I just smell the coil getting hot moderately. This was done accidentally of course my stock alt couldn’t support rp1500. 1 power thirst.

It’s definitely stout can’t wait to build a custom enclosure but 1. 5 cubes seems too small when it sounded louder and cleaner down low inverted in a 2 cube prefab at 36 hz tune. But idk definitely best I’ve owned will see how long it lasts.

The subs sound clean in a custom built box from a local spot. The bass is great for my crew cab. The sub completed my sounds ( BOSE system ), by adding the extra thump. My goal was to have a matched system and not go strictly bass head and rattle.

I dig it and for the small location inside the back , ya cant beat it ! I know there is Rockford , Memphis etc and I love them all , I was just going with kicker L7s as they sound good in small enclosures.

This people not paying attention to their jobs. You would think they would go through multiple checks before just sending out the product. They have the name as one thing but model number as something else.

I wanted 4ohm 10 inch subwoofer they sent me 2ohm. The name says 4ohm but the model number is 46LT7102. I needed 46LT7104. Highly disappointed.

Well considering I got sent two ohm speakers rather than the four ohm that I ordered, not real happy with the order fulfillment. But as far as the speakers, I’m not sure yet on that either because I haven’t installed them.

I would prefer to be able to switch the two ohm out for four ohm, but I’m not sure I’m willing to take the chance of having another issue getting that done since I ordered them and didn’t buy them at the store.

I just put one in a downward-firing sealed box that is under the backseat of my truck. total is less than 6 inches high so the seat can be let down without removing it. Sounds good especially for an entry-level sub.

and for a sealed box about 0. 5 cubic feet. so far it handles more than expected and is loud for the size. I am running it off an NVX MVPA1 200 watt RMS at 4 ohms. Handles it well without distortion.

This is exactly what I wanted as far as adding bass. It isnt a competition sub but great for an everyday vehicle.

Rockford Fosgate was once a good brand. Ive had major sound systems all my life and this sub is weak. It can not handle the rate power. I had it hooked to a 150w rms 400w max amp running clean power and lost 1 VC.

it smoked literally. 25yrs of audio and Ive never blown a sub. (Unless meaning to. ) These subs are junk. Waste of money. Rockford has gone to being junk. Sad. Please dont buy. Ever.

Haven’t tested out the sound yet but extremely happy so far. For an “open box” product everything looks brand new. Even came in original packaging. So the price can’t be beat, the product seems in perfect working order, and would buy from again without hesitation.

I will update when I have subs up and running to evaluate the performance of the speakers.

4 stars because this is my first time getting subs and I just wanted to dip my toes in and see what it was like, gotta say I love it, however I find myself wanting more kick. I’m not experienced well in this field so maybe there was stuff I could’ve done to boost the kick out of it but I noticed that I did give the subs a boost using the amplifier 12 db boost and that worked to please me however this is a review on the subwoofer so I’m that case it’s a great product to start off with or if you want to see what it’s like without spending too much money however I found that it lacked the first kick off the beat.

Or it was just too subtle for me the bass on it is great just the power of the kick for me is the reason why I’m finding myself looking at more powerful subs. However like I said they still offer great bass for those who are on a budget under 500 for a whole setup Also don’t think my amp is giving it its full power @rms rating so that could be the problem as well.

Great price. great sound. one issue though. My 3000 watt Rockford Fosgate mono block amp was a little too strong. The speaker still works fine, however the box the speaker was in exploded into several pieces that went flying through my vehicle and managed to break every window in my car.

Upon further investigation from the installation shop, they have explained to me that the 1. 21 jiggawatt flux capacitor allowed too much amperage to flow through the 0 gauge speaker wires which in turn decimated the box and sent it flying into the future.

Word has it that the box was sent into six different years. I believe I was told by the installer that most of the box was found in 1985. My DeLorean is now useless until I can find new glass to drive legally again.

But like I said, the Kicker 12 is still like brand new. I would definitely recommend this speaker to anyone who likes blowing things up. Cheers to all who like living dangerously. And I am a verified purchaser.

This speaker is without a doubt top of the line. 4 years ago when I first got my truck, I purchased a set 10s with a kicker amp. The power from that system exploded my battery. I sold that system and used my factory setup until a few days ago when I purchased 2 kicker 12s.

So far so good. If you’re looking for deep, clear, bone-shattering, earth-shaking bass, I highly recommend this brand.

These svr 8s are truly great. I have two of them in a ported box that I built. 1. 7 cub ft. 4 inch port 11 in long. Side ported in a 2022 Nissan Frontier king cab. Powered by a rp 1500. 1D. They hit all of the lows.

Even below audible levels. Everyone thinks I have 10s or 12s. The reactions when they see these 8s is priceless. I am very happy with these subs.

They definitely hit, won’t downplay it. I had just hoped for a little more for the price. That being said I have a car with a trunk, if you have a hatchback you’d feel these beating in your soul. I’m running the $500 jl audio 1000 watt amp, I know most of you guys probably have fancier stuff than I do, so idk how they’d stack up against some higher end amps.

If you’re not going for like competition subs, these will probably make you happy.

So far, so good. I used to have an alpine 12 type R. It blew out within a year. I heard someone tel me about skar audio. So I decided to give them a try. I’ve already had almost every big brand. Plus I believe in helping companies grow.

For someone who is looking to add additional low end 120hz down to 35hz to their existing audio system and still have trunk space this is perfect. However, that being said. do not expect window rattling, ground pounding base from this enclosure because you will be disappointed.

However, for an entry level subwoofer for as cheap as it is. It does an excellent job, it will fill the frequency ranges missing that your factory doors speakers can’t handle. Installation is a breeze if you already have an existing aftermarket amplifier but if you don’t it would just require running power ground etc.

to an aftermarket amplifier. So don’t forget to order wiring kit and an amplifier too. If you’re looking for ground pounding base I would recommend another line within the kicker series such as CompVR or CompR.

Decided to give this sub a try in my new truck. Bought 2 of them and hooked them up in the parking lot. I was very surprised by the bass these subs make! They’re not like other cheap subs sold at Walmart, these are actually good!.

Bought one of these just to add a little something extra in my 01 sequoia. It takes up little space and it hits mid and lows pretty good to be a 10” 4ohm speaker in a ported small box! I may purchase another!.

Don t take your kicker into geek squad or some third party repair guy. Take out the 8 little screws open that guy up yourself and assess the situation. I was about to go to geek squad and then decided not to waste the money and just look at it myself.

I know pretty little about wiring and the motors in these things so I went in pretty blind just watching a few videos on common problems. I see that my ground wire was crossed with my positive wire so all i did was clip back my ground, reattach and boom good as new.

I was stoked to save the money and to have my speaker back in action. Sometimes it s really a simply fix.

My reason for my rating!? I needed a specific wattage numbered subwoofer RMS that wouldn’t overload my amp. 400 watts is 50 watts too much! So when it arrived about 15 days after purchase; The supplier instructed to re-package it to RETURN it! [So i did not begin to unwrap it]!.

I have been pounding this one hooked on to a Pioneer 800RMS (same has its factory rated RMS) mono block for sometime now and it hasn’t thrown the towel yet on an almost 1 hour commute from work. I listen to a variety of music but mainly the type wich I can feel the bass of course! If you have the space, I always recommend to go big has it can handle way more power and are more durable on the long stretch provided your electrical system can feed this monster.

When I had my first system I got one of these and had it in a cheap prefab box on a cheap amp , and still loved it. Maxed it out everyday and it never broke a sweat. That was 2014ish and it s still bumping no problems til this day in a friends ride.

Fast forward this year, I installed 2 in my car. Each one on a Punch 1000x1BD in a custom built box. They SLAM. I recently broke both of em (completely my fault) and I m getting two more. They take over rated power without breaking a sweat.

Yeah you can probably get louder for cheaper, but I ve yet to hear any subs that sound better than these, and you re paying for that, and the long lasting quality.

A lot of audiophiles and bass heads think quality bass and low middle frequencies can be obtained only by installing a large subwoofer, 12″-15″-18″ or larger. The P3D2-10 is my choice because of its craftsmanship and ability to be pushed, slammed and more. As many have observed, It can take a beating! The 2 ohm fits my needs better than the 4 ohm because I want to share the 2 Channels with another DVC 2 ohm sub (MB Quart DSC 10″) rather than bridge the together for maximum wattage.

Ifyou have a mono block amp, clearly you may want to avoid this setup as most are rated at 1 or 2 ohms max for one single sub. I gave this subwoofer 5 stars because it A) can hit hard with up to 1000 watts pelted into it.

B) it can stay cool under extended woofer, voice coil, and surround excursion. C) it looks stunning in my vertically ported enclosure. D) the sub can produce the punchy lows and even subsonic bass frequencies I desire.

E) it cost me much less than another comparable subwoofer brand and upper model. The P3D2 is truly an awesome choice for the car audio enthusiast or certified bass head. Thanks Rockford Fosgate, for showing out once again!.

These subs slam!! I don’t see a point in buying anything more expensive. just add another one of these. I am running 2 of these on a JL RD1000/1 in a custom built trunk and these straight up SLAM!!! Beautiful deep bass.

Try these bad boys out. Update: 3 months in and they still sound amazing. Slam them daily.

Unbelievable quality! I replaced my head, speakers, and added an amplifier and sub. It sounded very good. Then I replaced the low quality subwoofer I was using with this one. Wow!!! Huge difference. Using this sub changes the musical experience.

This subwoofer is an amazing deal! I have it in an old beatup 1. 5 Cu. Ft sealed box powered by a MTX Thunder Pro 282 (280w x 1 @ 4 ohm RMS) with no capacitor, 30amp inline ATM fuse, two 12ga stranded wires ran together as one since I didn’t have any 8ga wire laying around.

(Yes ghetto, but it’s for my work van. As cheap as possible was the goal. ) It thumps hard. I am impressed. It makes my old RF Punch HE2 DVC seem like a pile of garbage. I would buy another without a doubt, but 1.

Bought two of these back is October. I had purchased them with the intention of replacing the speakers in my bandpass box. Hooked em up and they sounded like garbage in that box. At first I thought it was the speakers but I researched bandpass boxes and soon learned how exact the dimensions of a bandpass box must be for the speaker you are using.

Wound up buying a sealed probox and they sound amazing. Running them on a power acoustic mono 1500 and they bang. Great budget speakers.

Catch them on sale and wow what a deal. ive built many car systems. Ones that blow windows out and exhaust off the car. looking for a good sounding sub. this is it fir sure. the Rockford fasgates are better in that they can handle a little more power and play loud for longer periods of time clear.

but if ur not going on a road trip then ur good. ive used 12s for the most part but my last 2 systems were 10s. ill go back to 12s for sure my next. Best for subs hands down. had them on a 1800watt 4way A/B crunch amp each speaker bridged.

Amp turned all the way up and bass on radio all the way down (walmart dual $20. 00 radio) thats -7 on bass. Played rap fine. Some rock sounds had to turn bass up very little on radio. 3/4 thick dual sealed box from Wal-Mart as well.

Best box ever. I like sealed way more than ported. ported is louder but doesnt play all the tones when bass hits. to me that sounds like crappp. Like its missing a beat (im a drummer) so sealed is for me.

A/B amps play bass clearer too. Not as strong as a class D amp but who cares. Buy a little bigger A/B amp and problem solved. For good loud boom. cant go wrong. Want to shake parts off ur car buy 6 of them or stronger subs.

but u will be heard with just 2 very good.

my subs came a week early. if your doin a sealed enclosure theses call for 1. 169 cubic feet of area for each sub. only take a lil power to make em bump. great fie the price. u can wire 4 of these svc 4ohm subs parallel (makes them 1ohm) to a decent 1ohm stable amp and they put in work.

its like 2. 1 cubic feet persub if u do ported.

These subs sound really good. They are not comparable to 2 12in JL audio subs like someone said on here but they are quality speakers. They are made by MTX a quality brand and they sound like it. People say the amp gets hot because they have it turned up all the way, any amp would get hot.

If you want to get the full potential out of these subs get a 1000 watt amp but this set up sounds great already!!!.

One thing that told me I bought a great set up, is I couldn’t get a ground to the amp for a bit. it shut it’s self off and went into protection mode all by it’s self. That right there is a great quality in a amp that many people over look when shoping.

I got the sound i was looking, for but when i first installed it. it wasnt really hitting that hard come to find out having an factory bose system in my maxima. ( yea i know bose is the sh!t) just wanted more bass.

anyways come to find out it was the first dvd player i bought off here that was causing the issues. But so far im loving the speakers. But i would recommend buying a bigger and better amp because this one heats up way to quick nor does it have a fan.

I purchased two of the of these drivers. Using one in a home theater application as a subwoofer. Using a 100 watt per channel Sony surround sound receiver str-ed897. And had a failure of the coil, show signs of overheating on this receiver?!?! Switched drivers so far the second one has not faile!!!.

Had this sub installed by a professional and after two weeks using a skar amp at the suggested power (600 watts rms) it began smoking and went out. Could just be a fluke but it makes me Leary to try another skar audio subwoofer.

Hi , I purchased two 18″ subs and built a 5. 28 cf enclosure for the subs to share and one sub made a rattling sound , it got worse as the test song continued. I played the subs at low levels to break them in like with other woofers but the sub was just not having it.

Power source is a jx1000. 1d.

I have one 10W3v3-4, powered by an XD600/1v2 and it’s perfect. What does that mean? I have a 2018 BMW 340i with a small luggage space under the trunk floor. It can hold two, 8″ or one, 10″ subwoofer.

The 10W3 fits perfectly and hits hard. The XD600 supplies the perfect amount of power while not taking up too much space. The amp/driver combination allow me to have 100% use of my trunk space while significantly upgrading the sound in my car.

I highly recommend this pairing like it was an aged steak and a Napa cab.

I have a pair of 10w3s in my 2019 Silverado. They JL Audio recommended the XD600/1v2. Replaced all the BOSE speakers with Focal component system. Added JL’s FIX 86 and kept factory head unit. Sounds amazing.

Installed 2 of these last night in my girls FRS paired with JL Slash 500, a 3F cap & JL Bass knob. It was a surprise, I said let’s take a ride. With the bass knob all the way down she was heels over head :).

So I handed her the bass knob(still seeking location, also a must have) and we were both eyes closed, head bobbing with a nice back massage. The set up is very impressive for 2 10’s they pound very hard and they are not tuned to the max.

Can’t speak for every1 but in a go kart sized car like this these are plenty. Also COVERED the interior in a 80mil. Sound deadener, highly recommended! Two thumbs up JL! already purchased all your equipment for my new F150 Sealed box Wired 2ohm Firing upward.

There are several who bash BOSS. Im not one of them. They must be installing them wrong or pushing them past their limits. I had a RIOT 1100 in another vehicle and now I have this one. This amp is powerful, clean (no engine whine or hiss at low volumes), has never went into protection mode.

Sure, it gets warm when pushed, but thats typical of AB amps. I highly recommend this amp for budget systems, although it really performs better than many expensive amps. Im pushing (2) 6X9s and a 10 ported sub and this amp performs well over my expectations.

I love boss I not only have the Amp but I replace my factory speacker in my Nissan Altima with Boss put 500 watt RMS 250 6. 9 in rear deck and 4 6. 5 in Door pushing 300 watt RMS 150 and the front corner with the 3.

5 with 200 watt and 75 RMS I believe sound amazing with the 1500 watt Phantom I would recommend Boss to anyone that all I use in my Business unless my customer bring there own Gear other then that I buy Boss.

This a very nice amp. It fits under the driver seat of my 2007 Dodge Ram 1500 with no problems. It drives the two 12 inch subs with authority. I will buy the same one for the next project.

I went into car toys a couple months ago to go purchase a system for my car. I felt at the time I was making a good decision, because car toys has been around forever, right? I had a friend go with just to make sure I was getting what I wanted.

The first time I worked with 2 gentlemen, but the one that talked the most & acted like he was giving me the best deal around was Jessie. Well long story short, I purchased 1 10in & all around speakers for inside my Lexus, & an amp.

I wasn’t quite sure what I needed for it to sound good, so I went with what Jessie said would be good. I brought my car in after a week & dropped it Off all day. I went to pick it up later that night.

I didn’t think nothing of it till I got home, my speakers that were in my car prior, were gone, & as I really started to listen to the “new” stereo, it sounded like garbage. I had a couple good friends that know about stereos come listen to it.

They said first off they shouldn’t have done anything with my original speakers, they should have given them back. Second off for as much as I paid, it sounded awful. I called a couple days later & I spoke with Jesse.

When I was speaking to him on the phone & asking him where my speakers were, he told me that they had destroyed them. I was pretty upset by then telling them they never first mentioned to me that that’s what they do is destroy speakers & I asked him what I was supposed to do when I sold my Lexus sell it with no speakers? He got pretty rude with me & said if I was going to have an attitude & talk to him like that I wasn’t allowed in the store.

i told him that I will go in there Regardless of what he says because I’m pretty mad about how my car was put together & that my speakers are now gone. Well at the end of it all the GM Called me his name is Nick.

He was awesome to work with by the way, they upgraded my speakers to two 10 inch & they gave me another set of brand new speakers to replace the 1’s that they destroyed, now I’m happy.
