Cooler temperatures are here and autumn has made its presence known. I am always slightly perplexed when it’s time to transition from my summer wardrobe, but I am determined to end the year with my best boot forward. Here is a guide of stylish trends to look for this fall.

Fitted Leather Jackets

A fitted leather jacket can quickly turn any outfit from drab to fab with minimal effort. It screams I have my life together. And I don’t know about you, but I feel like looking like I have my life together is almost better than actually having it together! Dress the jacket down with a simple pair of jeans and a cute pair of converse, or up with a skinny trouser pant and ankle boots, and you’re good to go!

Leopard Print

Ladies and gents, leopard print is here to stay. If you’re like me and are slightly afraid of any variety of animal print, try incorporating it in your wardrobe with a  handbag or boot—bold in a very subtle kind of way. And if Fran Drescher is your idol and you could care less what others think, floor-length leopard trench it is!

Plaid

It is hard to go wrong in plaid, and there are so many ways to have fun with it. Nothing screams fall more than looking like you’ve just been chopping wood. Be creative and add some plaid in an unexpected way. Rock a plaid dress, pants, skirts, or even shoes! The possibilities are limitless.

Cable Knit Sweater

There are few things I want more in life than a soft, warm, and cozy knit sweater. Cable knit sweaters, in particular, are one of my faves because they flatter all body shapes and types. Pair with your favorite pair of jeans or perhaps a body-hugging pencil skirt if you want to dress it up.

Tall Boots

Boots are to fall like Santa is to Christmas. My favorite boot, however, is tall riding boots. They tend to elongate even the stumpiest of legs and can pull together any outfit. If you’re feeling extra adventurous this season, try getting a pair in unconventional color—like red or blue.

Out of all of the wardrobe seasons, I’d say fall would be my favorite. It’s so forgiving and allows for me to look and feel fabulous while camouflaging all of my extra Halloween pounds. What’s your favorite wardrobe season?
