It’s hard to believe it, but fall is just around the bend. Stores are already stocking up on the latest brogues, flats, booties and heels to take you through the fall foliage and on through the Ides of March. Some styles have stuck around from last year (your closet is safe!) to mingle with the newest looks for a full and blazing next few months.  Get out your ankle strap heels and check out what is in store for your pretty pied’s this fall and winter.

Universal Style

No matter what style shoe you decide to wear in the upcoming season you can be sure that color, soft leathers and jazzed up jewels will grace a lot of footwear.  The trend for colorful crystals, even on lace-up combat boots, is one that won’t back down.  Prints, mixing of fabrics and styles are all part of this anything goes but absolutely fun fall!

Well Heeled

Just like summer, fall and winter will continue with high heel trends. Chunky heels with a block heel are back, holding their own next to platform-thick soles. Unlike the summer where the heels were square but small, the F/W 2014-2015 season is full of very wide widths.

Do you love old-style 1940’s glamour?  You are in luck because ankle-straps are bigger and better than ever for 2014-2015.  Feminine options abound in both boots, booties, heels and even flats.  Strappy styles across the foot and ankle will be available and beautiful in sleek black patent styles and supple leathers for starters.

Flat-Footed

Every woman knows that a good-looking pair of flats can be hard to find. We want something that goes beyond the ballet flat or a pair of converse.  This fall/winter season designers have taken note and given us a bevy of bejeweled loafers, moccasins and flats that add to an outfit and provide comfort.  Look for rich fabrics like velvet, tweeds, brocades and reptile skins to set off the shoe.

Brogues are back and bigger than ever. A pair goes well with a pencil or pleated skirt during the day and a set of boyfriend jeans rolled up on the weekends.  Pick up a pair and you won’t be sorry.

Booties in flat form and pointy in toe are also a hit.  Basic black and browns are always in fashion and work well through to the spring.  You’ll look fashionable and be warm as you trek through your day no matter what the Old Man Winter brings us this year.
