Celebrate Halloween at the happiest place on earth! Disney World is a boo-tiful place to experience Halloween chills and thrills. Haunted happenings, harvest goodies, and plenty of tricks and treats are all on the menu. Here’s everything you need to know about the not-so-scary family fun at Disney World this Halloween.

The Party

At Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party you can wander around in search of treats … or tricks … throughout the Magic Kingdom after dark. Wear your costume and bring your treat bag for an unforgettable night of candy collecting. All your favorite Disney villains roam the park–including the undead employees of the beloved Haunted Mansion.

Don’t miss the parade, which features a galloping headless horseman, and the final party celebration, Happy HalloWishes, a magical fireworks show set to the creepy soundtrack of the spookiest Disney classics. Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party is a special event and tickets must be purchased in advance. The celebration is hosted on select evenings through November 1st. Visit the Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party official site to reserve your tickets.

The Treats

Walt Disney World shines in the treats department, and during the Halloween season, the park chefs go above and beyond to create unique seasonal treats. Here are three Halloween treats you won’t want to miss:

  1. Pumpkin Cheesecake Dome: Main Street Bakery and Gaston’s Tavern both offer a delectable Pumpkin Cheesecake Dome featuring a crispy graham cracker streusel and creamy orange and white chocolate glaze topped with a white chocolate Mickey.
  2. Haunted Mansion Tarts: Make a point of finding each of the four featured Haunted Mansion tarts, found in four different spots around the Magic Kingdom. Each tart boasts a different seasonal flavor and arrives topped with a creepy chocolate Haunted Mansion character accent. At Aloha Isle (Adventureland), find a tart filled with chocolate ganache and topped with Oreo panna cotta. Auntie Gravity’s Galactic Goodies (Tomorrowland) offers a chocolate tart filled with raspberry compote and white chocolate mousse. Liberty Square Market, located next to the actual Haunted Mansion, features a chocolate ganache-filled tart with peanut butter icing. Finally,  Storybook Treats (Fantasyland) serves up a chocolate tart filled with lemon curd, strawberry compote, and strawberry mousse.
  3. Edible Worms and Dirt Gravestone: At Pecos Bill Tall Tale Inn and Café you can find an edible gravestone packed with worms and dirt (chocolate cake and chocolate mousse topped with Oreo crumbs and gummy worms).

The Tricks

The Disney crew has plenty of tricks up their sleeves come Halloween time. Be on the lookout for seasonal tweaks to your favorite rides: you won’t want to miss a whirl on Space Mountain, for example, which takes a spookier ride through the cosmos in October.

Halloween themed T-shirts and other special souvenirs abound. The special Jack-o’ lantern Mickey Mouse mugs are a must-have!

Catch a picture-perfect Halloween photo opp: Mickey, Minnie, and the rest of the gang will all be dressed up in cute costumes. Be on the lookout for wandering Disney villains like the infamous Queen of Hearts and the dastardly Cruella de Vil.
