Congratulations to Playin’ With CC: the SocialMoms Blog of the Week!

When I first saw this blog, I fell in love with adorable toddler CC, and I think you will to! Tre LaPorte writes this daily blog featuring personal fashion for the everyday toddler. Many moms are on a budget it’s still fun to play with your kid’s style and clothing. With creativity and thriftiness, your child can be a fashion plate without having a celebrity wardrobe. I interviewed Tre about her inspiration behind the site …

SM: What was your inspiration for starting Playin’ With CC?

The inspiration for my blog was first and foremost my daughter. I have always been passionate for fashion, but since my 2 kids were born, I found that I was no longer buying clothes for myself because I’d rather buy for them instead. So blending my background in marketing and copywriting and love for fashion gave me the idea for this particular blog type. After I gave it a voice, I realized the direction I wanted to take was to give creative ideas to mom’s on a budget. Not everyone can afford celebrity baby clothes.

SM: What has most surprised you about running the site?

The biggest surprise I have encountered is the varying range of people who read my blog. Obviously, I intended for it to attract moms, especially those who have baby girls. However, I get feedback from mothers of boys only, as well as people who are childless but enjoy fashion blogs.

SM: What are you most passionate about?

I am most passionate about my children and being a mother. Second to that, I have a strong passion for fitness, and love being personal trainer and fitness instructor. It energizes me to motivate other moms and women to achieve their fitness goals and watch their confidence and lives improve as a direct result from that.

SM: What is the most popular section of your site?

The most popular part of my site is the “voice” that I have given my daughter Cameron for the blog. I hear lots of great feedback for “CC” and the roles I have her play for her daily outfits.

SM: What is your favorite part of blogging?

My favorite aspect of starting this blog has been melding my love for writing and fashion, while getting to work with my daughter.
