Summer is almost here, and with it is the chance to showcase the warm months’ hot colors. Make-up and style trends this year have run the gamut from soft pastels to vibrant neon colors. You want to look good for summer, but also stay safe from the sun’s harmful rays. Here are you top summer beauty tips for looking hot while staying cool:
Skincare
When it comes to skincare in the summertime you must find a great sunscreen. I like to have two on hand. One for my face and one for my body and preferably one that is waterproof and sweat-resistant. When looking for a good SPF the rule is 30 or higher. I prefer SPF 50 on my face and a sunscreen that is included in my facial lotion. I don’t stop at sunscreen when it comes to skincare either. A refreshing toner, light eye cream or gel, bronzer and sunless tanning lotion are all great items to have on hand each day during the summer months.
Bold Lips
In the summer I like to go minimal on my eyes. Overall, it is a more casual time of year and this is when I go bold and bright with my lips. Experiment with a burst of hot pink lip gloss or go beyond a traditional red and be on trend with a deep tangerine hue. Break out the high shine lip glosses too. They are fun, bring a bit of glamour to a low-key look and can add some sparkle too. I like to keep at least two in my purse. They don’t melt in summer heat and can be used any time.
Glam Nails
Warm months are a great time to play up your nails. We focus a lot on our feet as they are out in the hot sun and on display in a great pair of sandals. Why not create some nail art on your fingers too? Pinterest boards have a bevy of ideas that incorporate all the fashionable colors or use some designer nail wraps for a flawless finish. You can still be stylish with a one-color nail when you use hot pinks, corals, bright blues and yellows.
