Whether you live by the beach or plan on visiting one this summer, we have ideas for how to elevate your style from watery to fun-in-the-sun. And if the pool is the only view you will be taking in this season, don’t fret: these looks work on deck, too. Leave the cover-up at home and have some fun with our waterside wardrobe this summer!

Water is For Viewing—Not Plunging Into

If that is your mantra when it comes to swimming, that’s fine. There are plenty of ways to stay cool and still look good.

Jumpsuits and rompers rock right now. Take advantage of this alternative to the sundress. The romper works best for day, and a jumpsuit is perfect for chillier nights on the water. Paired with heels, wedges, or slides, your look is all about one and done.

Dump the coverup and sand dragging maxi for a sheer dress that dares others to stare.  The sheer dress can be any shape or length, and looks best when dry.  Add an oversized straw sunhat and round sunglasses for a glamorous look.

I Just Want to Be Comfortable

Girl, we hear you. For some of us, shorts and tees are not our best friends. We need a bit more coverage—and we’re not talking about a cherry-dotted vintage swimsuit.

Test out high-waisted pants with a fitted but full-coverage crop top. Yes, I’m serious and this is seriously stylish. You’ll feel good and look more sophisticated than anyone else at your next pool party. Don’t be afraid to roll up the pant legs a bit or find a high-waisted skirt instead. Kick off your shoes and prepare to kick back.

For others, the classic denim shorts and t-shirt or tank is a favorite way to stay comfy and cool. Play up the look by adding a kimono in a long or short style. Add slides or sandals and a fun straw beach hat and your old stand-by shorts are suddenly beachy and boho, too.

When the sun goes down, exchange that caftan for a sweatshirt with a funny print or saying that makes you LOL. Stick your toes in the sand or add a pair of slip-on sneakers. Casual and chic never looked so cute.

The Old Standby

The sundress will never go out of style. Find a fit that flatters and wear it as often as you want, because when you feel good you look good, too.

The fit and flare or midi length in a floral print work for so many body types. Add flat sandals and a small straw bag and you are good to go.
