2018 Celeb Hair Trends You Can Do
September 5, 2018
I don’t know about you, but I love checking out the newest looks of my favorite stars on Instagram. If you love celebrity hair trends but don’t have your own stylist on hand daily to keep you in the know, keep reading for a few 2018 celeb hair trends you can have implemented at the salon or DIY at home.
A long bob
Achieving a long bob (also known as a lob) is simply a matter of a straight cut across the bottom of your hair. You can rock this look with straight or wavy hair, or even add your own waves with the help of a flat iron. Celebrities seen rocking this trend include Margot Robbie and Lily-Rose Depp.
Platinum blonde
If you want to change your hair color, platinum blonde is popular this year. You can see celebrities like Vanessa Hudgens and Taylor Swift enjoying their platinum blonde color. Author, podcaster, and influencer extraordinaire, Lauryn Evarts of The Skinny Confidential just did her locks in platinum blonde last week! You can achieve this at home by following this tutorial.
Super high ponytails
Fans of Bella Hadid are probably familiar with her signature super high ponytail. Just gather your hair on top of your head and fasten with a ponytail holder. Then, use gel or hair spray to tame any loose ends. Or, you can mimic Khloe Kardashian and use a thin barreled curling wand to add tousled waves to your ponytail.
Big natural curls
We’ve been hearing a lot about embracing our natural hair and that includes big natural curls. If you weren’t blessed with curls but are in love with the look, you can achieve it by twisting sections of twisted hair around each other. Or, you can use super big rollers to achieve the same look.
Ribbon highlights
Ribbon highlights can give your hair a soft sun-kissed look when applied properly. You may even fool your friends into thinking you took a tropical vacation over the summer. Olivia Dunn and Shea Mitchell have both adopted this hair trend. Unless you’re familiar with different dying techniques, you may want to have your salon tackle this look.
Headscarves
Fans of vintage styles will be pleased to learn that headscarves are making an appearance once again. Derek Lam and Marc Jacob both featured headscarves in their runway styles earlier this year. Even Gucci and Versace have embraced this vintage look. If your budget doesn’t include Gucci or Versace, no worries, you can find them at many consignment boutiques as well.
Wet hair
Another celebrity hair trend this year is the wet hair look. Lucy Hale and Irina Shayk have both been seen with this style. You can achieve it yourself by applying hair gel to damp hair and following up with a few spritzes of hair gloss for shine and hairspray to keep it all in place.
