January is Learn to Ski and Snowboard Month and there’s no better place to learn than in Colorado. All month long, ski areas and resorts are offering special promotions and programs to make it easier than ever for people to learn to glide down the powdery mountains with ease. From package deals on rentals to free professional instruction, there’s an offer that will fit every family’s budget. Here are a few activities and offerings that make January the perfect time of year to learn the ropes of the slopes.

Winter Park Resort

Fast Track 5 Lesson
Colorado’s oldest Ski and Ride School has a pair of specials to celebrate Learn to Ski and Ride month. During January, first-timers receive 25 percent off of a Fast Track 5 lesson, a convenient half-day semi-private lesson that is limited to five students per instructor. Telluride

Learn to Ski/Ride for All Ages
Telluride’s Ski and Snowboard School combines one of the most comprehensive natural learning environments with some of the most qualified and experienced instructors in the world. January Learn to Ski/Ride Package

Purgatory Resort

One, Two, Free Learn to Ski Package
Purgatory Snowsports School offers a special learn to ski and snowboard package starting at $74 that includes 2 days of lift tickets, rental gear and full day beginner lessons. On the third day, participants receive a free lift ticket, 50 percent off rental gear and 50 percent off a half-day lesson. Participants also receive a 50 percent off discount card on lift tickets, rentals and lessons for the remainder of the season. Eldora Mountain Resort

Lesson, Lift and Equipment Rental Package for Children and Adults
Eldora Mountain Resort is offering the Start with Woodward Children’s Learn to Ski and Snowboard Package for $159. The day package includes an all mountain lift ticket, all day rental and all day lesson with snacks and lunch. Eldora’s new innovative and progressive day lesson will inspire and motivate kids through body awareness, coordination and basic skill development. Reservations are recommended. For adults, EMR is offering the Discover Adult Group Lesson for $149. The package includes one day of mountain lift access, all day equipment rental and a three and a half hour lesson.

Crested Butte Mountain Resort

Adult First Time Beginner Adventure Lesson
During the month of January, first time skiers and riders ages 15+ can sign up for a First Time Beginner Adventure lesson with the Crested Butte Ski and Ride School. This package includes a full-day ski or snowboard lesson, full day adult lift ticket (valid for limited lift access on the day of the lesson) and half off a single-day equipment rental package. Buttermilk Deluxe Package
Join Aspen Snowmass for a special private lesson package on Buttermilk while they prepare for and host the Winter X Games Aspen. Arapahoe Basin

First Timer Lessons
Arapahoe Basin Ski Area’s First Timer lessons are half-day only lessons for first time skiers and snowboarders. Adult (ages 15+) tickets are $70 and include the lesson and lift ticket.
