It’s hard to believe that it’s that time of year again but spring break is here. Even if you don’t specifically travel for yearly holiday, spring is a great time of year to dust off your suitcase and embark on an adventure. Just remember that many other people have the same idea, so be prepared to brave the crowds and have a great time!

Not sure where to go?  There are many places around the world that would be great this time of year but here’s a look at some destinations you can see without a passport.

Orlando, Florida: Let’s just get this obvious choice out of the way. Orlando offers warm weather, Universal Studios (hot destination for fans who want to visit The Wizarding World of Harry Potter!) and, of course, Walt Disney World. Willing to drive an hour or two for something more? Consider visiting the Kennedy Space Center in Cape Canaveral. You won’t regret it!

Virginia Beach, Virginia: If you are looking for a beach destination with a little more to explore, consider Virginia Beach. Not only will you find hiking trails and decent food but Busch Gardens is just an hour away. Looking for something more low-key? Go a little further into Williamsburg and Jamestown, America’s first settlements!

Charlotte, North Carolina: Charlotte is the second largest city in the southeastern United States (behind Jacksonville, Florida) and it boasts many family friendly attractions including museums, NASCAR races and outdoor activities. Thrill seekers may be particularly interested in the fact that the world’s highest giga coaster is going to open at Charlotte’s theme park, Carowinds, on March 25, 2015.

New Orleans, Louisiana: By the time spring break rolls around, Mardi Gras will be well behind us but that doesn’t meant that the fun has ended. The city continues to recover from the devastation of Hurricane Katrina while offering warm weather, incredible food, rich culture and the many delights of Bourbon Street.

Las Vegas, Nevada: Who hasn’t thought of heading to Vegas during spring break?  It will be busy and it will get crazy but that might be exactly what you’re looking for!  Sit poolside and cool off from the desert heat and then hit the strip to sightsee, shop, party or take in a show after dark.

San Juan, Puerto Rico: Looking for a more tropical getaway but have no interest in Hawaii?  Consider visiting Puerto Rico and explore the historic city of Old San Juan. Bask in the colorful scenery and friendliness of the vibrant people before relaxing in the sand on of the many beautiful beaches. You won’t want to go home!

Spring break is a great time to get away from the stresses of daily life and shake off the winter doldrums. Where are you planning to go this year?
