Summer is almost here – and what better way to quench your thirst than with some iced tea? Here are a few of my favorite iced tea recipes just in time for the heat of the summer.

Boston Iced Tea

If you aren’t familiar with Boston Iced Tea, you’ve been missing out. Boston Iced Tea takes traditional iced tea to a whole new level with an infusion of cranberry. This simple to make recipe is perfect for a big party or everyday casual affairs.

Ingredients:

  • 1 gallon water
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 15 tea bags (your favorite black tea brand)
  • 12 ounce can of cranberry juice concentrate from freezer section
  • 8 ounces whole frozen cranberries (not required but makes it very pretty)

Directions:

Bring water to boil and stir in sugar until dissolved. Add your tea bags and let steep for 5-10 minutes minimum. I like mine strong so I leave in for approximately 10 minutes. Add cranberry juice and frozen cranberries and stir. Place in refrigerator and serve cold. You can garnish with whole cranberries or orange slices.

Cold Orange Earl Grey Tea

I absolutely love the taste of Earl Grey tea. The orange juice takes this recipe over the top and is sure to quench your thirst.

Ingredients:

  • 8 cups water
  • ¼ cup sugar
  • 12 earl grey tea bags
  • ¾ cups orange juice
  • Orange slices for garnish

Directions:

Boil 4 cups of the water and steep tea bags for about 5 minutes. Remove tea bags and pour into pitcher. Stir in sugar and orange juice until sugar is fully dissolved. Add 4 cups of cold water and refrigerate. Serve cold and you can garnish with orange slices.

Mint Green Tea – Iced

There is nothing more refreshing than the minty goodness of some mint green tea. I love this recipe and it really hits the spot on a nice hot day.

Ingredients:

  • 6 cups water
  • 4 green tea bags
  • ½ cup fresh mint
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • 4 stalks lemongrass for garnish (if desired)

Directions:

Boil the water and add tea bags, mint, and honey. Let tea bags steep for 5 minutes then remove. Pour in pitcher and chill. Serve cold with lemongrass stalks as garnish.

If you want to add an alcoholic twist to this recipe you can remove 2 cups of water. Then when you are ready to serve place ½ cup of sake in bottom of glass and pour tea over top.

These are just a few of my favorite summer iced tea recipes. What is your favorite iced tea recipe for a hot day?
