What better way is there to celebrate the holidays than with the delicious tastes of chocolate and peppermint. This simple holiday pie combines crushed Starlight candies and milk chocolate chips. The result is something to celebrate and definitely something you’ll want to serve to all of your holiday guests this year.

Ingredients:

  • 1 chocolate cookie crumb pie crust
  • 1/2 cup sweetened condensed milk
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 1 small box of Jell-O Vanilla instant pudding mix
  • 3 cups Cool Whip, thawed
  • 3 Tbsp milk chocolate chips
  • 10 Starlight candies, crushed, divided (3/4 and 1/4)

Directions:

Combine the sweetened condensed milk, milk and instant pudding in a large bowl. Mix well. Fold in the Cool Whip and mix gently until smooth. Slowly stir in the chocolate chips and 3/4 of the crushed Starlight candies.

If you are making your own chocolate cookie crumb pie crust, make sure the pie crust has completely cooled before adding the filling. Carefully pour the filling into the pie crust and gently smooth the top.

Refrigerate the pie at least three hours or overnight until firm. Sprinkle top with the remaining crushed Starlight candies and a dollop of Cool Whip (if desired) and serve.

Makes eight servings. Refrigerate any leftovers.

Possible substitutions:

If you cannot find the Starlight candies in your area, you can substitute a few candy canes instead. You can also use mint chocolate or dark chocolate chips instead of the milk chocolate chips. Try the mini milk chocolate chips for more chocolate flavor in each bite.
