Now is the perfect time to get the kids into the kitchen to teach them to cook. And, while some kids will beg to help out in the kitchen, others may not show as much interest. One of the fastest ways to get kids interested in helping is by finding easy recipes kids can help you make.

Kids will be most interested in helping you cook if you’re making something that they want to eat! Consider the types of foods they really enjoy. And, then try to find recipes that are easy enough for them to help with. This will, of course, depend on their age and experience in the kitchen.

Casseroles are easy meals for kids to help you make. Once the pasta is cooked (which you may do), it’s simply a matter of mixing the ingredients in a casserole dish and baking it. A few popular kid-friendly casseroles including chili mac and macaroni and cheese.

Pizza is another kid-friendly meal that even the youngest kids can help you make. If you start with a pre-made pizza crust, all that’s left is having the kids layer on the sauce, pizza toppings, and cheese. Homemade pizza is a wonderful way to get kids to try new vegetables. So, make sure that you offer them sliced mushrooms, bell peppers, and broccoli to top their pizza.

Finger foods are almost always popular with kids so you might want to try quesadillas. It’s simply a matter of adding shredded cheese, salsa, and sliced veggies on a flour tortilla. Then, grill them quickly on each side. Let the kids dip them into guacamole or sour cream.

If you want to let the kids help with something that doesn’t involve cooking, why not let them make roll-ups? Simply start with a flour tortilla and then let the kids add lettuce, peppers, tomatoes, cheese, and their choice of deli meat. Then, slice them into inch wide pieces and let the kids dip them in ranch dressing.

Tacos are an easy meal for everyone to help with. Just prepare the taco shells and the meat. Then, let the kids in to make their own tacos. You’ll want to do a little bit of prep by chopping tomatoes, onions, and shredding the cheese. But, after that, you can set everything out on the table and just let the kids build their own tacos.
