The winter months call for a curated list of the tastiest bottles to help ward off the chill. Here are six wine recommendations that are perfect for sipping fireside, snuggled under a cozy blanket. Let’s raise a glass to 2021 and celebrate the winter…and the spring to come! Cheers!

Kendall-Jackson Vintner’s Reserve Chardonnay

While red wines are the typical suggestion for the colder months, America’s #1 selling Chardonnay for 26 years and counting is the perfect full-bodied white wine to keep you warm on a chilly winter night with tropical notes of pineapple, mango and papaya, and aromas of vanilla, honey, and toasted oak. Known as the Meryl Streep of wine, Chardonnay is the most versatile grape and is an ideal accompaniment to winter produce like squash, creamy pasta dishes and pork loin.

La Pettegola Vermentino Toscana

Made from 100% Vermentino grapes from vineyards located in the Maremma zone of Southern Tuscany, La Pettegola Vermentino Toscana features a rich bouquet of exotic fruit and spices typical of the Mediterranean coast. The taste is fresh and crisp with well-balanced acidity and a clean finish perfect for a Sauvignon alternative to pair with seafood, salads, and vegetable dishes.

Principessa Gavia Gavi

Encompassing the tale of a forbidden romance, this wine pays homage to Princess Gavia’s love story and the King’s journey to accepting her love with a guard. Made from grapes grown in a single vineyard located in the Gavi region of Novi Ligure, Principessa Gavia Gavi boasts an intense bouquet of pineapple and green apple aromatics with gentle acidity and a delicate finish. This wine features a well-balanced flavor and can be served as an aperitif or with hors d’oeuvres and seafood.

Taittinger Comtes de Champagne, Blanc de Blancs, 2008

“Presented in 18th century antique style bottles, this hand-crafted champagne is aged eighteen metres underground in the UNESCO status Saint-Nicaise cellars in Reims for eight years before being released.” Opulent and full-bodied with notes of dried apples, pears and peaches.

Usual Wines – Rosé

This crisp, easy-drinking rosé wine has notes of strawberry, rose petal, and rhubarb, and is expertly made in small batches from sustainably farmed grapes with no additives and minimal intervention—the perfect rosé  to drink with your sweetheart or beloved Galantine on Valentine’s Day!
