Mother’s Day is a day to relax and relish in the fact that you a super woman among women. Raising a family is hard work, so here are a few easy recipes to indulge and give yourself a treat this Mother’s Day.
An Indulgent Early Morning Pick-Me-Up
If you are like most moms, you sometimes require a little early morning pick-me-up. I have spent a small fortune on Frappucinos and Double Shot coffees in the past and feel guilty every time I shell over that hard-earned cash. Lucky for me I found a quick, super simple recipe to make my own Starbucks-worthy Frappucinos at home. I swear they taste exactly like the Frappucinos from the store for a fraction of the cost.
Wake up this Mother’s Day and prepare yourself this sweet treat.
- Ground Coffee
- 1 can sweet condensed milk
Prepare a pot of coffee just as you normally would. Pour the hot coffee into a pitcher and add a can of sweetened condensed milk. Stir the mixture together and place in refrigerator. Serve over ice.
Once you have tried this you will never buy a Frappucino from the store again. Guaranteed.
Spa Treatment at Home
This recipe uses ingredients from your kitchen, but you won’t be eating it. Once you have had your early morning pick-me-up, head to the kitchen and mix up one (or more) of these good-for-your skin concoctions. You don’t have to spend the day at the spa to have radiant skin this Mother’s Day.
Here are three of my favorite (and easy to make) face mask recipes.
Oatmeal and Yogurt Mask
This mask is great for any skin type and will leave your skin feeling rejuvenated and fresh.
- 1 tablespoon slightly ground oatmeal
- 1 tablespoon organic live yogurt
- ½ teaspoon warmed honey
Mix the ingredients together in a small bowl. Apply to a clean face. Leave on for 10 minutes and wash off with warm water.
Cocoa and Coffee Mask
Caffeine can do more than brighten your mood. This coffee and cocoa mask can brighten your complexion and help eliminate the puffiness.
- 3 tablespoons ground coffee
- 3 tablespoons ground unsweetened cocoa (baking cocoa)
- 6 tablespoons yogurt or whole milk
- 1 tablespoon heated honey
Mix ingredients together and apply to face. Allow the mixture to dry fully and then wash off with a warm cloth.
Egg and Yogurt Mask
This is a great moisturizing mask for those with dry skin.
- 2 egg whites
- 2 tablespoons organic yogurt
Mix together and apply to face. Leave on face for 5 minutes and wash with off with warm water.
All these recipes are sure to set the tone for a nice relaxing Mother’s Day. What is your favorite easy recipe to start your day off right on Mother’s Day?
