We all know there are many debates that occur within a household – and even within privacy of the bathroom. Toilet seat up or down?  Toilet paper rolled over or under?  Scented candle or potpourri?

This election season Charmin is taking their debate nationwide – asking fans across the country to vote for their favorite Charmin: Ultra Soft or Ultra Strong?

What is more important to you and your family?

  • Charmin® Ultra Soft is designed with absorbent cushions that allow you to use less versus the leading value brand.
  • Charmin® Ultra Strong’s enhanced DiamondWeave™ texture delivers a clean you will notice, with the softness you expect from Charmin.

TheCharmin 2012 Election is underway and every vote counts – so, why not join the TP debate and share stories on how you “enjoy the go!” As a Facebook fan, you will also have the opportunity to win weekly prizes (including t-shirts, coupons and  even a year’s supply of Charmin). Not sure which side to vote for? Take their online quiz and watch the Charmin debate videos.

Our SocialMoms members have weighed in on the soft or strong debate – and how it applies to their parenting style and family:

  • More 4 Mom’s Buck says she has to be both soft and strong when it comes to being your child’s advocate. “Being the advocate, it is imperative to find a balance between being soft and strong. If you are too adamant to a coach or teacher, your child’s voice may echo into no man’s land. While being too soft, your child may be trampled by louder participants. Over time, I’ve dealt with both scenarios.”
  • Confessions of an Overworked Mom agrees that there are times you must choose to be soft or strong, but it’s not always easy making that transition. “Switching from strong to soft can be difficult for me to do sometimes. Dealing with a child who has had a tough day at school or comforting a child who is sick means that you need to take a more gentle approach and be nurturing.”
  • So Easy Being Green admits she tends to fall a little on the strict side, but that’s not always a bad thing. “Just because I feel like I’m strict doesn’t mean my children are missing out on a super, awesome fun Mom, though.  I want to be my girl’s friend – but their Mom first.  Simply meaning – I’ll listen when they have problems and sometimes just listen, no opinions {easier to say now that they’re only 2 rather than 16, right?}, but I’ll always be the authority figure and won’t condone actions I don’t agree with.”
  • And Life with Captain Fussybuckets reveals it’s good to learn the boundaries between soft and strong. “That’s where it’s good to be strong for your kids.  Being a positive example of standing up for yourself and being strong enough to say no to someone who is bothering you is a very valuable asset to kids these days.  Bullying is a huge problem and these kids have got to learn to stand up for themselves AND tell a trusted adult what is going on.”
