It’s been a long break for some but, finally, our favorite shows are returning to the lineup. The premieres have been staggered, with some already occurring in January but now, in the second month of the year (already!), more are coming back.

In addition to established favorites, some new shows will be airing this month. Fresh Off the Boat follows an Asian-American family that experiences culture shock when they move from Washington, D.C.’s Chinatown district to suburban Orlando in the 1990s. Better Call Saul follows the misadventures of Saul Goodman, the infamous lawyer for notorious meth dealer, Walter White, from the series Breaking Bad. While we won’t ever see Mr. White on this show, there’s no guarantee that Jesse Pinkman won’t make an appearance. NBC drama, The Slap, explores the relationships within a family after an adult slaps a misbehaving child. It’s unclear how they will draw that storyline out for more than a couple of seasons. Matthew Perry and Thomas Lennon are trying to resurrect a classic by bringing an updated version of The Odd Couple back to the small screen.

  • The Amazing Race – 90-minute episode, will move to Friday night timeslot following week. (CBS 9:30pm)

  • House of Cards – (Netflix, 12am)

What are you looking forward to watching this season? I’ve grown a bit tired of The Blacklist so episodes are already accumulating on my DVR. I doubt I will continue recording them. I’m definitely going to watch The Walking Dead, especially after star, Andrew Lincoln, promised major action during the second half of the season. Since things have been so slow lately, I hope he’s telling the truth! I enjoyed the first two seasons of Vikings so I’ll probably check it out and I love The Amazing Race so that will take up my Friday nights. Of course, I will probably binge watch House of Cards when it comes out.
