Kelly Ripa Has Quit Drinking

During Monday’s episode of Live with Kelly and Ryan, hosts Kelly Ripa and Ryan Seacrest discussed the fact that wine sales were down in 2019. Ripa joked, “They’re saying that Americans bought less wine last year. It’s the first drop in a quarter of a century. Now, I believe this is because I quit drinking, that I caused this dip. I have influenced the market.”

To clarify, she explained that she’s stopped buying wine and hinted that her decision may have been influenced by Seacrest joining the show as her cohost in 2017. This was, of course, after Michael Strahan’s dramatic exit.

“I started the show and she quit drinking. What does that tell you?” joked Seacrest, to which Ripa responded, “Exactly. … It’s amazing.” We don’t know the full story, and the pair were being lighthearted, but you can’t help but feel that there’s some truth to this!

Serena Williams Ducks Meghan Markle Question

By now, you’ve heard that Prince Harry and wife, Meghan Markle, have chosen to step back as senior members of the Royal Family and will be spending a lot of time in North America. Most recently, the couple chose to spend Christmas in Canada.

It’s well known that Meghan and tennis legend, Serena Williams, are very close friends, so one reporter at the Australian Open tried to get the scoop. Fortunately, Williams responded as lighthearted as possible. Here’s the exchange:

“Your good friend, Meghan Markle, who attended your last two slams, and Harry, have taken a move, a stance that many people think is extraordinary and historic. What are your feelings about that? Have you spoken to her?” the reporter asked.

Without missing a beat, Williams said, “Yeah, I have absolutely no comments on anything with that, but good try. You tried. You did good.” You can’t help but chuckle a little. We should all have friends like that!

Ashley Graham Welcomes First Child

Model Ashley Graham and husband, Justin Ervin, are new parents! The couple welcomed their first child on January 18, 2020. Graham shared that the baby was born at 6 PM on Saturday and that their “lives changed for the better.” She also thanked her followers for their support.

During an appearance on The Ellen DeGeneres Show, Graham accidentally revealed that she was having a boy during a round of rapid-fire questions. After it was clear she couldn’t backtrack, the mother-to-be yelled “I’m having a boy! I’m going to be a mommy to a boy!”

Throughout her pregnancy, which she announced on Instagram, the 31-year-old star shared how her body was changing. She talked about learning to embrace the process, which many women found empowering. Congratulations to this growing family!
