The last few days have delivered some major bombshells from Hollywood. Just like those of us who live regular lives, celebrities can feel the sting of a failed relationship but they can also experience the excitement of new beginnings. Here are two of the most notable stories from this past week.
After 10 years of marriage, Gwyneth Paltrow and Chris Martin, are calling it quits. The actress and the frontman for Coldplay made the announcement and, despite the rumors over the years, their separation is a bit of a shock for many.
Under the heading “Conscious Uncoupling” on Paltrow’s GOOP website, the statement said: “It is with hearts full of sadness that we have decided to separate.” After explaining that, over the past year, they have worked hard to repair their relationship, the announcement added: “We have come to the conclusion that while we love each other very much we will remain separate. We are, however, and always will be a family, and in many ways we are closer than we have ever been.”
The statement concluded with: “We have always conducted our relationship privately, and we hope that as we consciously uncouple and co-parent, we will be able to continue in the same manner. Love, Gwyneth & Chris.”
Paltrow, 41, who was named PEOPLE’s “Most Beautiful Woman” in 2013, and Martin, 37, are the parents of daughter Apple, 9, and son Moses, 7. They were married in a secret ceremony in 2003.
On the complete opposite end of the spectrum, Ashton Kutcher and Mila Kunis have incredibly happy news – not only are they engaged but they are also expecting!
The pair first met on the set of That 70s Show back in 1998. One source claims that Kutcher “was so in love with [Mila] for a while when they worked together. He thought she was a goddess, was always talking about how beautiful she is.” They started dating in 2012 after Kutcher separated from his now ex-wife, Demi Moore. Since reconnecting, the couple have been inseparable.
The 36-year-old Two and a Half Men star and his 30-year-old actress fiancée are said to be “very, very happy” but emphasized that the pregnancy is “still early.” Almost immediately, talk of twins started circulating but those rumors were quickly shot down. The adorable couple was most recently spotted on the Kiss Cam at an LA Clippers game.
All the best to both Gwyneth and Chris who will be learning to live apart as well as Mila and Ashton as they embark on this new and exciting journey.
