Get Reading! Free Summer Book Incentives With DOGObooks.com
May 27, 2014
Summer is a time for relaxing on a hammock, eating watermelon, and running through sprinklers. Most kids want nothing to do with workbooks or education, but reading is a great skill to maintain over the summer. And we’ve got the perfect incentive to get your kids to grab a book the next time they need a break from playing frisbee!
DOGObooks.com, the largest website dedicated to kids’ reading and book reviews-by-and-for children, announces its 2nd annual Summer Reading Program. This online program rewards kids (and their schools) for reading and reviewing books. The program is well under way and runs through mid-September.
How Does it Work?
In partnership with leading children’s book publishers, DOGObooks has created a reading catalog of 52 popular book titles for grades 3-8, including The Emerald Atlas, By reading and posting 3 reviews of 25 words or more, kids can select their choice of a free book from a prize catalog of over 70 book titles. The program also rewards the top ten schools with the most reviews with 100 new books for their school library (talk to your teacher about joining)!
Once you’ve done 3 reviews, you can repeat the process to win even more books (while supplies last).
Here are some sample reviews currently on DOGObooks as part of their Summer Reading Program:
Alliya reviews Whatever After #1: Fairest of All: A fresh, modern spin on a classic fairy tale–from bestselling author Sarah Mlynowski! Mirror, mirror, on the basement wall . . . Once upon a time my brother and I were normal kids. The next minute? The mirror in our basement slurped us up and magically transported us inside Snow White’s fairy tale. I know it sounds crazy, but it’s true.
cat124 reviews Son: Love, obligation, sacrifice, and loss. This book was AWESOME! I really like it. It was also a really good idea to separate it into parts: Before, Between, and Beyond. I’ve recommended this to a couple of my friends. This book was really good!
