It’s fall movie time! Can you believe it? We had a fantastic summer at the box-office and, after a quick review of the upcoming releases, it looks like the next few months will be great too.

While this year isn’t filled with holiday-themed titles (except for the highly-anticipated new Halloween movie), there are selections to please just about everyone. Let’s take a look at what’s coming up this fall:

September

A Simple Favor (September 14) – This mysterious, dark comedy from Paul Feig (Bridesmaids, Ghostbusters) stars Anna Kendrick as a mommy blogger who seems totally enamored by her new gorgeous friend, Emily (Blake Lively)—until she disappears. You’ll be asking, “happened to Emily?” until the very end!

The Predator (September 14) – Yes, there’s a new Predator movie but, no, it’s not a reboot or even a continuation of any of the previous films. Instead, this is an all-new adventure that takes place after a young boy accidentally sets this lethal hunter free. Of course, The Predator heads straight to Earth!

Night School (September 28) – Tiffany Haddish and Kevin Hart co-star in this movie about a man who forced to go back to school after his life takes an unexpected turn. If the trailers for this comedy are any indication, it’s going to be hilarious.

October

Venom (October 5) – Tom Hardy may have been part of the DC Cinematic Universe when he starred as Bane in The Dark Knight Rises but he’s making the leap to Marvel in the role of Venom. Associated with Spider-Man (and suffering a similar fate), Eddie Brock suddenly develops secret powers and he must release the force within if he wants to survive.

A Star is Born (October 5) – People loved the original 1976 flick starring Barbra Streisand and Kris Kristofferson so let’s hope people also love Lady Gaga and Bradley Cooper in this remake about a musician who battles his own demons as he tries to help a young singer find fame.

Mowgli (October 19) – Fans of Rudyard Kipling’s The Jungle Book may love to learn the story of Mowgli, the young boy raised by wolves in the wild. He soon learns that his own human race may be just as terrifying as his menacing foe, a tiger named Shere Khan.

Halloween (October 19) – She’s back! Jamie Lee Curtis is reprising the role of Laurie Strode one more time for the slasher series that helped launch her career. In honor of the original film’s 40th anniversary, Strode will face off against her murderous brother, Michael Myers, one last time (maybe?).

The Hate U Give (October 19) – Based on the best-selling novel by Angie Thomas, this film adaptation follows Starr who, after being stopped by the police, witnesses her friend’s death in a fatal shooting. Grappling with the pressures of living in an inner-city community while attending a posh private school, she must find her voice and step into her own truth.

November

Bohemian Rhapsody (November 2) – If you’ve been waiting for the story of Freddie Mercury, this movie’s for you! The film follows the earliest days in Queen’s incredible history as they boldly created a unique sound—all while being led by Mercury, even as he bravely faced his AIDS diagnosis.

The Girl in the Spider’s Web (November 9) – People were truly sad when Claire Foy’s turn as Queen Elizabeth II ended on The Crown but now you can watch her as Lisbeth Salander, a computer hacker who teams up with a journalist as they get caught up in a corrupt web of lies.

Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald (November 16) – Magizoologist, Newt Scamander, is back and, this time, the stakes are higher than ever as darkness threatens the wizarding world’s way of life. Harry Potter fans will be thrilled to see Hogwarts and a young Professor Dumbledore (Jude Law) featured in this sequel!

Creed II (November 21) – Michael B. Jordan is back in this follow-up where, under the guidance and training of Rocky Balboa, he comes face-to-face with Viktor Drago, the son of Ivan Drago who, of course, killed his father in the original Rocky series. Should be intense!
