Your Guide To Must See Fall TV!

After a summer of reruns, are you ready for this year’s fall television lineup? Honestly, after a few years of mediocre fare, there’s a lot to get excited about in this last quarter of 2018. Of course, viewers are going to be excited for the return of popular series such as The Voice, Survivor, and Empire but fans of some shows are particularly anxious after several cliffhangers!
Shakeups to Existing Shows
This is Us – At the end of last season, we finally learned how Jack dies, Kevin’s battle with addiction was revealed and we also found out, through a leap to the future, that Randall will lose Beth. Those are a lot of bombshells for one show to address but we’re looking forward to seeing it all unfold.
The Big Bang Theory – It has been announced that the upcoming 12th season of the show will be its last. The longest-running multi-camera series in television history is coming to an end in 2019 so, if you’ve skipped out on it recently, you might want to tune in for its swan song.
The Conners – Following Roseanne Barr’s controversial tweet about former President Obama aide, Valerie Jarrett, ABC canceled the highly-rated Roseanne reboot. Now, it’s been revealed that her character will be killed off the show and the spinoff, The Conners, will follow the rest of her iconic television family.
The Walking Dead – By now, you must have heard that Andrew Lincoln, best known as Rick Grimes on The Walking Dead, is leaving the show and, truthfully, even if it’s time for this character (or even the series) to retire, it would have been nice if it was kept a surprise.
Noteworthy Newcomers
Magnum PI – If you were a fan of the original series for which Tom Selleck won an Emmy Award, you might have mixed feelings about this reimagining starring Jay Hernandez in the title role. We’ll just have to wait and see!
Charmed – In a season of reboots, Charmed is definitely standing out since people really loved the first run from 1998-2006. Considering the show’s cult following, there’s a lot of pressure on The CW to deliver. Judging from the online reactions to the promos, they’ve got some more work to do.
The Alec Baldwin Show – We can only imagine what Alec Baldwin is going to do with his own talk show but, no matter what, it’s probably going to be pretty entertaining. Airing on Sunday nights, the one-hour program will feature lengthy one-on-one interviews with notable names such as Jerry Seinfeld and Kate McKinnon.
Chilling Adventures of Sabrina – While the Sabrina the Teenage Witch sitcom, which ran from 1996-2003, took on a lighter vibe, this darker version will air on Netflix and focus on Sabrina’s efforts to come to grips with her powers while battling the forces of evil. Fans of Riverdale will probably flock to this companion series in droves.
