It’s kind of tense out there lately—have you noticed? There are so many things going on in the world right now and people are scared, angry, and confused. It’s been kind of rough, so if you’ve been feeling the sting, understand that you’re not alone.
During times like these, it’s always a good idea to practice self-care. Take a walk around the block, get some fresh air, or enjoy your favorite meal. You can also get lost in the lives of your favorite celebrity moms. Here’s the latest.
Katy Perry’s Baby News
You might have missed this headline, but you can add Katy Perry to Hollywood’s list of expectant mamas! The singer, who is engaged to actor Orlando Bloom, announced her pregnancy by baring her bump in her new music video for “Never Worn White.”
The American Idol just lost her grandmother, Ann Pearl Hudson, this week. While she was sharing tributes to her “sweet Grandma,” Perry revealed that she and Bloom had been able to share their big news before she died. This must be an emotional time for the family, but it’s good to know that Perry can reflect on these beautiful memories to find comfort.
Meghan & Kate Reunite
After Prince Harry and Meghan Markle announced their royal exit, they’ve settled down in Canada. This past week, they’ve been in the United Kingdom making their final rounds. On Monday, they made their last royal appearance alongside Prince William and Kate Middleton for the annual Commonwealth Service at Westminster Abbey.
Queen Elizabeth II requested their attendance and it’s easy to understand why—Harry and Meghan will remain the president and vice-president of the Queen’s Commonwealth Trust, which supports and champions young leaders around the world.
Meghan and Harry were the first to arrive at the event, but smiled and waved when William and Kate took their seats in the front row. In a departure from previous years, neither couple was included in the Queen’s procession. We wish everyone the best as they navigate the next chapter of their lives.
Hoda Returns to the Today Show
It’s that time of year! Last week, Today show viewers noticed that Hoda Kotb was noticeably absent. It turns out she was home battling the seasonal flu, according to co-host Savannah Guthrie. Kotb had just returned from a trip to Orlando where the Today team visited the Today Café at Universal Orlando Resort.
Fortunately, the mother of two has made a full recovery and is back with the morning crew. “I feel 100 percent better,” Kotb told viewers. “I can’t believe the flu does hit like a hammer; I know a lot of folks have it but [I’m] back in business, rested and ready.”
