J.K. Rowling Announces New Book

Amazing news — J.K. Rowling has announced a brand new book. Sorry, Harry Potter fans, it’s not a spinoff in thee series. She did, however, come up with the idea while she was writing the ridiculously successful story of The Boy Who Lived, though!

In a post on her website, the mother-of-three revealed: “I wrote most of a first draft in fits and starts between Potter books, intending to publish it after Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows. However, after the last Potter book I wanted to take a break from publishing, which ended up lasting five years.”

Stepping “away from children’s books for a while,” she wrote The Casual Vacancy and The Cuckoo’s Calling as the first draft of her upcoming book, The Ickabog, stayed tucked away in her attic for nearly a decade. “Over time I came to think of it as a story that belonged to my two younger children, because I’d read it to them in the evenings when they were little, which has always been a happy family memory,” she wrote.

The book is a “story about truth and the abuse of power.” Written almost a decade ago, “it isn’t intended to be read as a response to anything that’s happening in the world right now. .. the themes are timeless and could apply to any era or any country.”

The Ickabog is expected to be published in November 2020. Rowling is donating all author royalties to coronavirus relief efforts.

Cameron Diaz’s Main Focus

Now that Cameron Diaz is a mom, her parenting duties are her “main focus.” In January, the actress announced that she and husband, Benji Madden (of Good Charlotte), had welcomed a daughter named Raddix. Now, she’s planning to be a lot more “selective” about the work she accepts in the future.

“Cameron is enjoying her time away from the action, and spending it with her husband and baby Raddix,” according to a source. “Cameron worked consistently for almost 20 years and needed a break. [She] loves being a mother and that is her main focus now. [She] plans to be selective in any projects she considers for the future, but for now it’s all about family.”

During an interview in April, Diaz gushed that she loves being a mother and that she’s “so grateful and so happy and it’s the best thing ever.” She went on to say that she and Benji are having the “best time.” Of their time in quarantine, the actress explained, “Now I just don’t see anybody. But it’s nice, and I love a bubble and being in the womb of my home with my husband and cooking.”

Diaz and Madden were married in 2015 and have remained largely out of the spotlight. Her last film performance was in 2014’s remake of Annie

J. Lo “Heartbroken” Over Delayed Wedding

Like many couples, Jennifer Lopez and Alex Rodriguez will be postponing their wedding this year. Unfortunately, the coronavirus pandemic doesn’t seem to be ending anytime soon, so it’s unclear when Lopez will be able to walk down the aisle.

While chatting with Hoda Kotb on Tuesday’s episode of the Today show, the World of Dance judge confessed: “I’m a little heartbroken because we did have some great plans, but I’m also like, you know what? God has a bigger plan. So we just have to wait and see. Maybe it’s going to be better. I have to believe that it will be.”

“There’s no planning right now. You just have to kind of wait and see how this all plays out,” she continued. “It’s disappointing on one level. After the Super Bowl and after World of Dance, after we finished filming it, I planned to take time off, which is what we’re doing kind of right now, but at the same time, we had a lot of plans for this summer and this year. Everything’s kind of on hold right now.” We can all relate, right?
