The holiday season is now behind us and new year lies ahead. Where were you when the clock struck midnight? If you’re like many moms, you were struggling to stay awake long enough to watch the countdown, but some of the world’s most famous mothers were busy ringing in the new year in style!
Carrie Underwood Let’s it All Hang Out
Those last few weeks of pregnancy can be absolutely exhausting, and it looks like Carrie Underwood is feeling every minute of it. The country superstar shared a sweet picture of her bare belly along with the caption, “Kicking off 2019 right…Me and my boys cuddled up watching a movie. Yes, I’m wearing Mike’s shirt. ? #LettingItAllHangOut ?”
While we don’t know her exact due date, judging by the fact that she can no longer tie her own shoes, it’s safe to assume that her son, Isaiah, will be meeting his baby brother in the very near future.
Dwayne Johnson Gives Mother a New Home
Raising kids is tough and, too often, moms feel underappreciated. This year, Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson made sure his mother was feeling his love and gratitude. In 2018, Johnson was named the highest-paid actor in the history of Forbes’ Celebrity 100 list, and it seems he decided to put some of his wealth to very good use.
In a video he shared on Instagram, fans learned that Johnson gave his mom, Ata, a new home for Christmas. She was so overcome with emotion that she had to cover her face as she sobbed. After raising such a strong, successful son, she deserves it!
Serena Williams and Roger Federer Battle
Talk about a showdown! Tennis greats, Serena Williams and Roger Federer, faced off for the first time in a doubles match at the Hopman Cup in Australia. The crowd of 14,000 witnessed history as Federer and partner, Belinda Benic, who represented Switzerland, battled America’s Williams and France Tiafoe.
Ultimately, Federer’s team reigned supreme by winning five games to three, but there was no bad blood between the long-time friends. In fact, Federer and Williams, both 37, took a selfie together on the court after the match. Williams shared the shot on Instagram along with the caption: “Goat vs Goat. The Goat won.” How fun!
